Upcoming Ulduar Tuning - Algalon Nerf to Compensate for Dodge Bugfix

We recently discovered a bug causing tanks to benefit from roughly twice the intended amount of Dodge from the Dodge Rating statistic. In order to avoid seeing raid groups skew toward maximizing for this, we’re going to fix the bug. This fix will not change your Dodge % displayed on your character sheet, as the bug was invisible to players.At the same time, on Tuesday during scheduled weekly maintenance, we’re going to deploy a second hotfix that will reduce Algalon’s melee damage by 10% in both 10-player and 25-player difficulties. We feel that the increase in pressure on tanks and healers from the bugfix will be manageable in other encounters, but this one needs a compensatory tweak.

Comment by SpleenerI'd imagine the bigger reason for the preemptive nerf is Algalon's timer- if this change results in any other encounter being too hard to keep a tank alive through they can fix it reactively and nobody will mind that much; if they have to do that with Algalon then they'll have screwed everyone who activated him pre-fix out of their attempts for the week.Comment by KoorbanTaking 7 months to fix a bug reported in the beta. If guilds could clear 14/14 with naxx gear theres really no reason except player failure that will cause u not to get HMs down, especially with full 232+ ilvl. The Algalon nerf imo was much needed. Having undergeared tanks or poorly optimized tank CDs almost always resulted in tank deaths. One missed CD and your tank is gone. Tighter dps requirement, more tanking requirements (for last phase) and more mechanics.
