With TBC: Classic fresh in mind I have a feeling that current numbers can't be trusted? The hype for WotLK: Classic is immense right now. The question is how are things going to be 1-3 months after WotLK release?I would suspect we get the normal dropoff of players. In TBC: Classic a lot of healthy servers ended up being ghost towns rather quickly after the initial hype and surge of players settled. I see no reason why WotLK: Classic is going to be any different. There will be an exodus of players once the initial hype settles, and when Dragonflight is released.The server consolidations are going to help, we have a much smaller roster of servers this time around so it should help keep more servers in a healthy state. But I can't shake the feeling that you are putting yourself at risk by transferring to lower populated servers.And none of this is of any help to players on fresh servers. Thekal is the server with the longest queues in EU. There is no free transfer option, or any optional server to begin with for those wanting to play on a fresh PvP server. When you look at the realm status page over at WoW EU it still lists Thekal as "NEW" even though it's the worst in terms of server queues beating out the biggest megaserver Gehannes when it comes to queue times. Why doesn't Blizzard mention fresh servers at all? What does Blizzard expect us to do? Give it up and start over on a non-fresh server midway through pre-patch?
I'm on sulfuras which had 0 ally a week ago and it's doing great and is popping.So many people are prisoners of their own minds acting like the server they're on is the only one that can succeed.It's just dumb....It's a dumb line of thought....

Good for Old Blanchy but why not open up free transfers to other servers?The Horde population on Azuresong is dwindling, and now with less places to move to because of the restrictions.I would really like to know why some servers are consistently left out of free transfers to and/or from. We weren't on a free transfer list in the beginning of TBC either, if I remember correctly.
If you are so confident Bliz give us all a free xfer to use later when you are proven wrong, again.
I think Blizzard should comment on realm populations more. Pyrewood Village has just had tons of people transfer to it, but while not being a "mega server" has been consistently busy throughout classic. It didn't need more players and I question why Blizzard weren't trying to funnel players into the actual lower population servers.
