Not a bad set of pants, but truly the most horrific graphic while wearing them. What art developer thought it was a good idea to have pants that's just a bikini bottom with a pair of garter belts?

Despite their... lascivious... nature, these are darn good healing pants. If you're a PvE healer don't shy away from wearing cloth where necessary, as the armor difference between cloth healing gear and even mail healing gear won't save you from a wipe if your tank and CCers don't know what they're doing.

The female pants are very silly, but the male version of these pants is no better - it looks like you're wearing no pants whatsoever, especially if they're close in color to your character's skin.

As a paladin who sometimes is called on to heal, I was looking at these pants as an upgrade to Consortium Plated Legguards.

With this switch, counting how I have the latter socketed (teardrop/brilliant/solid, all uncommons), I would lose 9 mp5 and 7 intellect (and 736 armor.)
I would gain +4 healing, 18 stamina, and 25 spirit.

Tough call; this really is more of a sidegrade than an upgrade. In the end I decided to stick with the Consortium piece. Thought this post might help anyone pondering the same choice.

As a Kara/ZA raiding holy priest, I can hardly find a better alternative other than BoJ pants, and pvp ones. Just pop a spellthread over it, and you'll be fine for some time, for these are pretty good healing pants.

Yes - Using Haramad's Leg Wraps With Teardrop Living Rubyx3 Campared to these would be

-27 Stamina
-22 Intellect (330 Mana)
+4 Spirit (~1MP5)
+1 Healing
+11 MP5

12 mp5 takes ~2 1/2 mins to regen 330 mana. 27 stam can help in alot of situations.

Most Fights dont last more than 3mins which anything less than that these, these pants would be superior.

Gemming the pants different could make a difference but its up to you.

When Wrath hits, like everything else the healing gets compiled into spell power (41 in this case) and with spirit becoming more valuable these might be worth hanging on to for any casual player dps caster at least till a nice green pair of Northrend ones show up.

I hate that my cloth-armored characters are practically forced to look like every other mage and warlock out there. By the time your cloth wearer hits 70, it's going to be difficult to avoid dressing them in a robe and arming them with a staff, but there are some alternatives if you work at them. This is the fourth item in a sequence that gets you from 36 almost all the way to 80, showing some leg without having to sacrifice much (if anything) at the leg armor slot.

Combine these items with a tunic in the chest slot and a tabard, and you can keep your female toons in a practical and attention-getting kit that's an alternative to the traditional (yech) robes and dresses.

Needless to say, this sequence is for leveling and daily grinding only. If you're gonna PvP or Raid, these will not all suffice, especially at endgame. (By the time you get to 60, you'll want a separate kit for PvP and another for Raids, anyway)

36 to 50 : Black Mageweave Leggings (BoE, Tailoring)
51 to 56 : Cindercloth Pants (BoE, Tailoring)
57 to 70ish : Abyssal Cloth Pants (BoE, Quest Objective Drop - quest starts here)
70ish to 80 : Pants of the Naaru (BoP, Quest Reward in the Arcatraz Key quest chain - start here)

There are enchants available from Tailors or on the AH for all of these items except the Black Mageweave Leggings. The Pants of the Naaru can take you almost all the way to 80, especially if you enchant them with a Sapphire Spellthread. I haven't seen anything yet in Northrend that can succeed the Pants of the Naaru, but I'm still looking...

I agree that the leggings are good, I think they're a bit better than you do, however. My current main is a 70 Priestess, shadow spec, probably respeccing Holy, and the stats are quite good, with a decently high plus heal. Putting a silver thread (I wouldn't spend for a gold on these unless the character was not going to run the instances) on them increases the healing and makes them even more attractive particularly when you consider that this piece of gear is from a quest and not an "I had to run this instance five-ten times and it finally dropped and I lost the roll" - but just a quest, grab a friend, do it and the leggings are yours.

This is exactly the kind of gear that is obtainable for those individuals who prefer to avoid heavy raiding or for a soloer, or simply as something quite good to use as an upgrade until set pieces become available. Having good gear such as this also allows one to be effective *while* going after better gear, if one so chooses. Depending on how much time one spends playing that can be quite a while - I see many 70 primary healers for their guilds wearing these; of course it would be nice to be able to start accumulating Tier 4 and 5, but isn't realistic for the majority of players - those who aren't hardcore 10 (or more) hours a day; or those who might want to be but luckily have lives and commitments - school, work, family - things you do outside of a room with a monitor ;)

As an aside, I really do enjoy this game, but it does seem to cause no small number of hardships and even tragedies with people becoming profoundly addicted to it, losing sight of real life in the never-ending quest for... this PERFECT item, this "ultimate" epic mount (the new netherdrakes, for example) or just wanting to be "the best" with the "coolest" gear, and forgetting that the gear and everything else.. are merely pixels; that their "best friends" in the game aren't in their lives (at least most of the time) and that dropping out of college or neglecting your career or children or partner isn't the best way to live a life. Yes, it's tremendous fun - but as the tip on the loading screen suggests, it's a good idea to "Spend time outside Azeroth with your friends" lest ye become unhealthy from sitting down all the time and rarely moving ;)

As far as good gear, such as these leggings is concerned, there is a great site to locate such items for every class, quickly and easily. http://www.wow-loot.com has a listing of items by Zone, Instance - Each boss, and the items by percentage (if you have cartographer or similiar you already have this) by quests, and rep rewards, broken down for EVERY CLASS into the "most desired" or "best" items in each of the zones (quests, rep, bosses, etc.)

This is a very useful resource.. A player might go there, look up their class, and see by zone, quests, instances, and rep, which items they might wish to go for.. and where they are obtained, allowing a person to make decisions as to where to they want to focus their time. Otherwise, it is often hit or miss - you might find these leggings, you might not.. Someone looking for a rogue dagger coming across caster daggers - or vice-versa, instead of getting frustrated, can simply check for the location of some of the items he or she is seeking.

Especially useful of late for Warriors and Hunters -- since so much plate now seems to be pally plate, and so much mail seems to be Shaman mail-- finding where the good Warrior pieces are, and the good Hunter mail is, is more of a challenge, and knowing exactly where the pieces you want are located - which quest, which boss in which instance and is it worth the time? Which rep to grind for that "awesome" item at Revered or Exalted -- which quest chain and where it starts - is all very helpful indeed.

The same would be true for other classes; Resto Druids come to mind since most leather seems to be rogue or feral druid; Balance druids have it even harder.. there isn't a lot of "caster leather" out there; and much less "healer" leather than there used to be. This site www.wow-loot.com can be extremely helpful in finding what you didn't know you were looking for because you didn't know it was out there.

One thing to bear in mind - A Shadow Priest might want to look at the Warlock section - since the priest gear is oriented towards Holy Priests. Resto Druids will find their leather among the general Druid category - I think the site could be improved by further dividing the classes into ideal items according to spec - clearly what is ideal for a Healadin is not what a Ret pally would want - and the same is true for many other classes where spec makes a tremendous difference - Shadow vs. Holy priest, Tank vs. Arms (and even more so Fury) Resto vs. Feral druid, and the other similar cases in Shaman spec and to a lesser extent in other classes; most hunters, rogues, locks, to some extent mages (different element, but still, +damage and crit and int gear) go for pretty much the same gear - and so one should be aware of this shortcoming, but nonetheless, it is tremendously useful...

(It's how I found out about the Pants of the Naaru myself -- and several other items I might never have known about, or would have only learned of after I had passed the level in which they would have been useful for me.)

Good luck with the leggings - I have not yet done the quest chain but I understand that it isn't terribly difficult, and there are quite a few pieces of really good gear for all classes in Netherstorm and Shadowmoon Valley - neither particularly "fun" place (Nagrand is so pretty, it's hard to enjoy Shadowmoon Valley) but there is a great deal of excellent gear to be had, and that gear is of tremendous benefit in preparing to do the level 70 instances, and then from there, Karazhan and beyond.
