Dropped by Sele'na (a rare elite in Valley of the Four Winds).
When used this item buffs you with giving you a different buff depending on class and spec (abilities list here). The buff lasts for 1 hour and persists through death and other than having a 1 hour cooldown works just the same as the druid version of the spell.
The item has the description of "Can only be used in Pandaria", but that is slightly more restrictive than you might first think. It means 'Only in the outside world in Pandaria' so not in instance or pvp or even in the main city at the moment, though hopefully thats a bug.
This continues to drop even if you solo him as a druid, and as the tooltip suggests you cant use it.

Mildly bugged, the symbiosis effect randomly disappears. I popped it on myself as an arms warrior, had Stampeding Shout and could use it fine, but when I tried using it again 10 minutes later, I had mysteriously lost my Symbiosis buff (I hadn't died or grouped with anyone in the meantime).

My hunter gf and I killed this rare, lucky I won the roll. As a Mage it gives me the Healing Touch spell with a 10 second cd. It would have just given her Dash. Much more useful for a Mage to have than a hunter. I cast 55k base healing touch, and 156k crit heals with it! I can heal myself or anyone else I target with the healing touch spell. But only in Pandaria. Still it's AWESOME to be able to heal myself and others as a Mage. LOL

Got this on my lvl 89 Warlock and it granted him Rejuvenation with a 10sec cd.
at 14k Spellpower it healed for roughly 20k total.

Edit* After a bit of research I realized you don't actually cast this on other people, it works like a self buff. It depends on what type of class you are.

All Rogues get:

Growl : 30 yard range , Instant cast , 3 minute cooldown , "Gain the aspect of a bear, taunting any currently targeted enemy to attack you for 3 sec. After use, increases armor by 330% and stamina by 20% and reduces chance to be hit by melee critical strikes by 6% for 30 seconds. Useable with no target."

Item is not usable in raid zones. If used outside, the buff fades, when entering a raid zone.
In a recent patch, Symbiosis was changed, so tanks no longer get a 15% Might of Ursoc (nice tank CD).
This item however is unchanged and gives the old symbiosis (where tanks get 15% Might of Ursoc).

Respeccing / Changing talents removes buff

Shoutout to all the downvoters - the spell it puts on you behaves the exact same as a druids Symbiosis. Changing specs, talents, or glyphs removes the buff.

Since I didn't see it mentioned: If you are worried about using this item up, it has unlimited uses. The 1hour cooldown is the only thing that prevents using multiple times. The buff also lasts for an hour, so assuming you don't die/zone or lose the buff some other way, it can be active 100% of the time.

I do not know why blizzard made this item Needable, I finally found it.. but I offered a lower level assistance in finding gear by inviting them to my group to kill the rarespawn. They needed on the item and then left the group and ran off.

Camped this over a 3 day period, took me 24 kills. Anywhere from a 50min to 2hr 20 min reset.

Amazing as a Mage though, 138k crit healing touch! 10 sec cd.

For those unfamiliar with symbiosis, the spell you get appears in your spec tab in the spellbook (not general). The spells there are sorted alphabetically.

The buff is great but is buggy which makes it extremely easy to lose the buff.

- Buff was randomly lost when relogging. I had the buff stay once after a disconnect but it was gone several times after relogging.
- Buff was lost leaving Pandaria in any way such as porting, dungeons and bgs.
- Buff remained when porting to the main hub in the Vale.
- You must still wait the full duration of the cooldown (1 hour) before you can use the item again.

Edit: I didn't mean these were all bugs, just notes about the buff from the trinket :)

Dropped on 5th kills or so. I am on Tillers dailies so was not camping, just happened to pass by .

Testet and confirmed by a GM: When entering a dungeon or raid loading screen, you leave pandaria for a short while, which means the buff from this item will disappear everytime you enter a dungeon or raid loading screen. It can however be used inside, but since the buff would disappear after a raidwipe (you will need to re-enter the instance after all) or whenever you're done with the dungeon you were in, it is alot less desireable then at first glance.

Haven't seen this yet, but the buff stays on death. Died twice on my mage trying to kill a rare and having bad luck with adds spawning on top of me, and every time I came back to life I still had healing touch.

Warriors are granted Symbiotic Growth. Temporarily granted the ability Stampeding Shout which is, increasing the movement speed of all friendly players within 10 yards by 60% for 8 sec and removing all roots and snares on those targets. 5 min cooldown. As a Discipline Priest, this grants me Cyclone.

I've never played Druid nor PVP'ed against one before, so I had to look up this spell. Gonna test it out on the next rarespawn I see, but Cyclone appears to function as a stun/interrupt with a 1.6ish sec cast and no cooldown.

Situationally, I'm thinking this could prove to be extremely useful. Gonna try it on a Jinyu or a Pandaren rarespawn in particular. I've always been able to solo the Jinyu rares (with a little bit of difficulty due to the lack of an IR for Torrent), but I've never bothered with the Pandarens until now. Will update/edit my comment with results.

As already mentioned here, as a Paladin it gives you Wrath (Holy, Ret) and Barkskin (Prot).

I was so excited when I saw that, especially for fights that are not pretty much melee friendly, like Onyxia during her flight phase.

Unfortunately, it was not usable in neither raids nor instances, even though they are located in Pandaria :(
I was so much disappointed and hopefully, Blizz will change it.

This is a very nice item for a rogue if you are having problems with some of the rares or something in Pandaria.
Symbiosis gives you . Helping a lot with survivability!

It's also perfect for killing multiple mobs at once. ;)

Dont forget not to enter your faction's main town in Pandaria, or the buff will dissapear!

Please note the following annoyance: going to the Isle of Thunder will remove this buff, although it can still be applied once arriving there (when its cooldown is up again).

I'm going to submit this as a bug in-game since it seems like an oversight to have the buff fade for no reason.

Mage's Healing Touch has a 10 second cooldown.
I am not sure but i think Warlock's Rejuvenation also has a short cooldown.

This buff gets removed upon entering any instance, scenario, bg, arena - and i am pretty sure it also vanishes after you go through a loading screen (like a continent change or a teleport).

* The buff is kept as long as you do not zone out of Pandaria or into an instance / raid / battle ground / arena or respecc

This seems to have been updated with 5.3 and no longer clears when you respec, which is interesting because the Symbiosis spell you have is still the same as before you respecced.
So I would still have the tanking cooldown (might of Ursoc) if I use it while I'm (blood) tank spec then switch to dps or vice versa.

This dropped off the frogs in Timeless Isle.

I love it. My only complaint is that it seems the buff you get compliments the abilities you already have and/or you already sort of have the ability. I'm a hunter and would have loved something like Rejuvenation or Tranquility as my buff instead of dash which I sort of already have with Aspect of the Cheetah or my speed Tinker which comes with engineering. Something completely different than what we already have would have been awesome.

But anyway, it's an awesome item and hope to get for my other alts, too.

Nice vanity item, but as said, very buggy and annoying in that if you use Oqueue, YOU WILL LOSE BUFF WHEN CHANGING REALMS/SERVERS. I use it for farming warbringers.

This item rocks for warlocks.

Rejuvination greatly helps soloing rare elites by giving both the voidwalker and the lock a very powerful instant cast heal which is much quicker than the channeled Health Funnel and Drain Life.

Just got around to trying this on the WoD beta. It currently gets added to your toybox, once added it will still function like it currently does on live, making it the ONLY symbiosis in WoD, but I can't seem to find any spells being added by the buff I receive.

This item (originally Overgrown Lilypad) turns into a Wilted Lilypad in WoD. This is likely due to the removal of the associated druid ability Symbiosis. Now a grey quality item, it can be vendored for 100g.

As of 6.0 (PTR), everyone who has this item will note that it is now called Wilted Lilypad, it no longer gives a buff, is now a grey (poor) quality item, and the description says: "Climate change has dried up this specimen."

With spell changes coming in Warlords the once wonderful "Overgrown Lilypad" has been converted over to this high priced vendor trash. The original rare quality drop provided non druids with the effects of Symbiosis. The spell would grant you access to some helpful druid ability. Very disappointed to see this new and fun talent was "pruned" after just one expansion.

I couldn't find a definitive answer really regarding how the Overgrown Lilypad is tracked since the release of WoD so I opened a ticket regarding the item to check this with a GM.

The GM recommended I try killing 思勒那 in Valley of the Four Winds instead of farming the 咕嚕蛙s.

I camped this mob on and off. She has approximately a 40 minute respawn, same as the other MoP rares. When she dropped the lilypad I was awarded progress towards 需要更大的袋子! She has a 20% drop chance so it's definitely worth doing!

The lilypad should still drop and should still give credit for the achievement Going to Need a Bigger Bag. Sele'na should still drop the lilypad, just might need to take a little bit to get it.

sooo, gulp frogs don't drop it anymore so i have been camping Sel'ene. The 20% droprate is a fable. I have over 30 kills and still nog damn Wilted Lillypad for my "Gonna need a bigger bag" achieve!

The name of the item has changed in the game but has not changed in the achievement. Getting this item from the rare will give you credit for Overgrown Lilypad in the achievement.
