- This pattern is a worlddrop and can drop from every mob in Cata and MoP.
- The Chance in Cata is a bit higher than in MOP, maybe because it was implemented in Patch 4.3.
- The Chance is aprox. 0,01% and can only drop for Jewelcrafters.

All those itens are throwbacks to the old 紅寶石遮陽鏡.

It used to cost some thousands gold when it was added in TBC. Its price got reduced to coppers shortly before it was removed, some time in Wotlk.

While they can't be transmogged, there are no level restrictions nor any status gains.

They can - and most likely will only - be used to pimp your AH lvl1 alts with the coolest gear.

Dropped from Garr (WB farm) after 1283 attempts spread across them.
6th and 7th Monocle (2nd Sapphire) dropped on my 3,622nd kill of Jalak-doom.

Dropped for me today off Garr. I do not have JC. It's seems as though since the new patch these patterns are now BoE and drop for everyone. I've been farming for the top hat pattern and was surprised to see this drop.

I just bought this and it’s not showing learned, but my text in game said learned. I have the profession for that exp. Why?

The drop rate for all of the Cataclysm monocle designs and rare patterns was GREATLY increased in a stealth update after 10.0.5, and then it appears the odds returned back to normal in 10.0.7

In about 250 kills after the 10.0.5 patch I obtained:

A stealth update hit them again around 10.0.7 and since then I have seen just a single Monocle design in over 200 kills.
There are now a few people on each server that can make these. I think that is what Blizzard intended.
