Doesn't immediately arrest your fall (e.g. after dismounting or jumping off a ledge), requiring something like a ten meter drop.
There is a cast time. You can cast while falling.
Lasts for fifteen minutes. You can mount up, cast spells, dismount without cancelling the parasol.

Upon use, once deployed, the item will give you a 15 second parasol fall buff, slowing your falling speed. Once that 15 seconds is up, you plummet same as having no slow-fall device for a couple of seconds, then it resets the 15 seconds of parasol fall. You can take fall damage, but I wasn't able to find any way to actually die from full health. The most health I lost while trying this out was half my health.

If you dismount on a mount while stationary, you fall straight down. If you are moving, as in, jumping off a cliff or dismount while flying, or use a class specific or other item to move, it results in a 199.839% movement speed as you continue to glide down.

If you have the Delicate Silk Parasol buff, and you jump from a high point, cliff or building for instance, on a ground mount, you will be automatically dismounted and the parasol will deploy to give you slow-fall.

ANY combat you initiate, melee or ranged, while in parasol fall or on the ground, will cause the "Delicate Silk Parasol" buff to disappear, also cancelling the device slow-fall if you are in mid-air.

However, if you are attacked, and do not retaliate, the buff remains as does the free fall. This makes for a nice buff to have if you have war-mode turned on and someone uses a dismounting device such as the 喀拉希碎翼者. Instead of free falling potentially to your death, the parasol will deploy and slow-fall you.

Class specific, there are some interesting effects. Disengage for hunters will cause you to leap backwards momentarily, the parasol redeploys, and you have the 199.839% speed while gliding down. You can control your movement by turning to where you want to glide towards as a result, then disengaging, even if falling straight down.

The tooltip for all 4 available parasols shows them all sharing the same five minute CD upon use, however upon use of one parasol, THAT parasol that is used has the 5 minute CD, while the others show a 3 minute CD. Not sure that's working as intended or if that's some glitch or blizzard mistake.
