This fish is related to part 2 of the secret fish achievement series, 神秘魚與牠們的產地.
To start this you'll need to complete part 1.

The goggles:
With the 神秘魚護目鏡 buff applied a small fish in a bubble will spawn somewhere within 40 yards of you. If you have sound on you'll hear bubbles when it spawns then 5-10 seconds later the fish will become visible at which point you'll be able to click it. The fish can be clicked while mounted, you do not need to be in water for it to spawn and it will spawn every 25-30 seconds.

Best way to do this is find a spot that is flat and with few surrounding objects (trees, rocks, etc) and just spin your camera around until you see the bubble.

The Fish!
Each time you click the puffer you'll be given a random fish, most of the time it will be the white "junk" fish for whichever area you're in as well as the occasional grey item, with the exception of Dalaran where you'll commonly get coins usually caught from the eventide fountains.

Catchrate is quite low for many of these so expect to spend a fair amount of time for this.

I've split the fish into different catergories.

The common:
These fish can be caught anywhere at any time of the day, save these lot for last as you'll probably get most if not all of them hunting the others.

3. 隱目鯰魚
4. 隱跡擬態魚
5. 超微型鯨魚
6. 珍稀鹽鰭魚
7. 洄游刺鰭魚
8. 隱形胡瓜魚
If you're still missing these after you catch the others, the best places to catch these are on the floating islands, like the ones scattered around Outland Nagrand (45.9, 59.9). The zone exclusive:
These fish can only be caught in specific zones and sometimes even in very specific areas within zones.
9. 腐敗的血鱈魚 - Nazmir, Zul'Nazman.
10. 翠玉傳說魚 - Jade Forest.
11. 雷鳴比目魚 - Isle of Thunder.
12. 祈倫托小丑魚 - Dalaran (Broken Isles/Northrend).
13. 機械鯖魚 - Mechagon.
14. 后馨魚 - Nazjatar.
15. 遠古法力鰭魚 - Suramar. Anywhere in the Suramar city harbour. (Credit to Roguezs).
16. 囚魚 - Tol Barad (PvP area). Anywhere in the zone, the bridge that connects the two islands is a great place for this one, just make sure you're on the PvP area side of it (check minimap).
17. 鉤刺峽灣魚 - Howling Fjord.
18. 死魔骨魚 - Argus, Krokuun and Antoran Wastes. (Credit to Padwarle and Neryssa).
19. 托爾托缸棲魚 - Drustvar, under Anyport in the underwater Tortollan bar called 'The Drunk Tank'.
20. 超扁平比目魚 - Neverest Pinnacle, Kun-Lai Summit. (Credit to Qaccy and Pungyo).
21. 井潛魚 - Mount Hyjal, in the lake under Nordassil.
22. 淹溺金魚 - Drowned Lands (46, 50) in Stormsong Valley. (Credit to Bobins666).
Note: With the exception of the Tank Deweller (Fish 19), these are confirmed locations and may not be the only location within the zones where they can be caught. For the Tortollan Tank Deweller, I was only able to catch it once I was in the very specific sub-zone (where the name changes above the minimap).

For those suffering from woeful luck with the rarer fish, like the 超扁平比目魚, this was discovered by Asmundr.

To everyone who is having trouble looting some fish. You need to approach the places like Neverest and Nordrassil on foot without a flying mount (There is a small path just before the Neverest peak) Then the 100% dropchance Fishes don't bug out and are lootable once more (Thin Air Flounder and Well Lurker) Alternatively just use the goggles when standing at those places when they are off CD.

If you're still having issues, clearing your bags of all secret fish (vendor or delete them) may also fix it.

The time scheduled:
These fish can only be caught within certain times, while one is active, the other is not. Whichever fish is active at the time can be caught in any zone.
23. 縹緲月魚 - Night only. 9:30pm to 8am.
24. 金黃日沒魚 - Day only. 8am to 9:30pm.
Note: We're not sure on the specific day/night switch over time, the above is just based on the times we've been catching them. If you catch these outside of the posted times let me know. Make sure its server time, not your local time.

The dead:
These fish can only be caught while the player is dead. Once you're a ghost these fish can be caught in any zone. (Credit to FenixInfinito).
25. 帷幕鬼魅魚
26. 呆目梭鱸
27. 寂漂魚
28. 靈鮭
Best place to catch these on any floating island, like the one directly behind the southern bank of Broken Isles Dalaran. Suicide by flying up and dismounting. The buffed:
29. 綠棘鯛 - Requires the 漆成綠色 buff from the Mechagon mechanocat painting station (63, 42). This can be applied by walking over the green puddle on the station or having another player throw a 裝滿綠油漆的氣囊 at you. (Credit to Sishrot).

The sporadic:
30. 遷徙廢鰭魚 - Can be caught in the "future" version of Mechagon that 克羅米 sends you to for the quest 另一個地方. Unfortunately this daily is only available sporadically. (Credit to Lacrit).

I spent 90 mins in Kaskala, Borean Tundra (65.33, 44.55) I still didn't get this fish, it must be too well camouflaged!

I also use an Inky Black Potion to be able to see the bubbles better.

However, I did catch

Got this one in the Scalding Pools just south near the Frizzcrank airstrip in Borean Tundra. Easily the rarest of them all, spent a good while for this one. Not sure as some fish were bugged unlootable, but alas I chose this area due to its flat wide area, with very few mobs and doodads in the way. good luck!

This might be total coincidence, was in Nagrand, and i saw someone taking halaa, so i went down and helped and immediately got Camoflaged Snark. Bears testing, but perhaps being in specific pvp areas increases chance for this to drop? Definitely could just be RNG as well.

I went to the spawn spot of the Snark in Eastern Plaguelands (39.6 84.6), flight point Crown Guard Tower, and hung out with the ghost animals just to the side of The Lone Hunter with my back to the bank. I was convinced that the Snark's spawn point and the ghostly/camouflaged animals meant that I'd get the Camouflaged Snark within one or two drops.

It took half an hour, but I did get it and the other two common fish I was missing. Probably coincidence but it was a nice change from bare islands on Nagrand.

It wasn't a bad place to sit for a while, the fish all spawned within a reasonably close arc in front of me or on the bank behind me and didn't need any effort to find. A quick fly round every 30s or so was enough to get them all.

This was the last one I needed, finally got it on a floating island in old Nagrand 69.70 after about 20 minutes.

I spent about 7 hours looking for this fish!

Spent time on the island by Legion Dalaran but gave up eventually.

If you are ever stuck trying to get fish go to Jade Forest. You will get 2 fish per bubble! Was there 40 mins and dropped!

Many comments saying this was the last one, most difficult one and I agree, all others were a few minutes, this snarky little fish is going into hours already including several duplicates and triplicates of all the other "common" ones. Need categorized all on it's own as a true PITA. Ugh, ugh, ugh!

This was the last fish I needed and after trying a few of the other spots mentioned with no luck. I headed over to Jade Forrest - Owen's Wishing Well /way 39.30 7.45 I threw the coin into the wishing well for extra luck (every little helps!) and caught my Camouflaged Snark in about 15 minutes. I highly recommend Jade Forrest as you get two fish per bubble.

Got this where you find Flying Tiger Gourami in Krasarang Wilds. I chose this after trying a bunch of different places because they have the exact same icon, got it on my 7th fish. Coincidence? Maybe, but I spent hours at floating islands, jade forest, EPL, etc. and got it here. Who knows, maybe it will work for you!

Kaskala is a very good source for the "common" fishes. I caught multiple 隱形胡瓜魚, 金黃日沒魚, 迷彩鯊嘴魚, 洄游刺鰭魚, 惑喉魚 and 超微型鯨魚 within an hour.
There is a good spot behind the benches with good visibility to the surrounding area at 67.1 53.0

Found a good place in Borean Tundra that they only spawn in front of you. The really big flat iceberg south of Torp's farm at 31.05, 78.40. Be careful though as most of the area of the iceberg is in fatigue territory. Caught the Camouflaged Snark in about 20 or so bubbles here.

Week two of Shadowlands and I have been working on this achievement. This guide was massively helpful, and found a few things to add. The personal time displacer did help me to get the Displaced Scrapfin even though chromie's daily quest was not available in Mechagon. I was having issues catching the remaining non zone specific fish. I tried borean tundra with no success. I tried Oribos and found that I was able to catch Spiritual Salmon..... So maybe we can farm the fish you used to need to be dead for in the Shadowlands afterlife.

I eventually went to Stormwind in frustration, and stood facing the lion statue near the harbor backed against the ledge. I was able to catch all of the common fish here. It took me over an hour but I was able to finish my achievement here. Good luck and thanks to those who added to the full guide.

Fished this randomly out of a Hyper-Compressed Ocean that someone else had spawned in Oribos. Funnily enough it was the first fish that character had ever caught.

I came here to see what to do with these fish after I got them. Noticed that this one is difficult to get. This is the first one I got while doing dailies in Zereth Mortis. (5/3/2022). I just got my goggles yesterday and had put them on not expecting to even see a bubble here.

Was outside of Brennadam after picking up my Paragon box. I keep my buff running all the time now that I have it and realized I didn't actually need to be fishing to get these bubbles. This one was located along the water at /way 59,71 - Right below the small waterfall.

Hi! If anyone is doing this in Dragonflight, like I am, here's a good place to farm the anywhere fish after you've been all around the world. Go to Valdrakken and fly just a little south outside the city limits to "The Cascades". Go to 39.0, 79.8 There is a little round platform with steps. If you stand at the top of the steps in the point of the heart shape and face the people, they will 99% of the time spawn in an arc in front of you and are pretty easy to see, either against the road or the grass. In about 30m I've caught 1/2 of the anywhere rare fish (some of them multiple times). I just have a few more to go, but this seems like a great place that's easy and quick to get to. :) Happy Hunting!

I don't know if this is a magical place or if someone put Felix Felicis in my tea, but in 15 minutes, I fished up the following.

/way #650 29.3 62.8 Highmountain Magic Circle of Secret Fish
There is an unnatural ring of natural rocks here, where I stood in the middle and cast my incantations (expletives?). There is a bit of natural clutter, so I did miss a few bubbles, but it's a small area so easy enough to cover.

So that's 1 out of 3 is a Secret Fish? Is that crazy? I'm feeling real good, after spending several hours trying to get those three I needed from various places mentioned in wowhead posts and a few of my own. Still need the alternate reality quest to pop up to get the Scrapfin.

EDIT: Came back today and had no luck at all. When it was "lucky", I was coming back from doing 浮釣 and 活跳跳的高嶺鮭魚 and it was around 10AM server time. Don't know what other circumstances might have been in effect to affect it. I wish I could have stayed longer to see what else fished up.

Northrend: Dragonblight @ 9.94, 60.09 amongst the 碧玉戰士肩鎧. It took about 5 minutes before it dropped.

Went to one of the spots mentioned here in Jade Forest: top floor of the Twinspire Keep (41, 80), as people seemed to be having good luck getting the Snark there, and it was the last fish I needed for the achievement.

I can confirm that in February 2025, it still drops two fish per "bubble", however:

- In an hour of farming bubbles, I did NOT get the Snark
- In that one hour, I clicked on 130 bubbles and only 9 bubbles contained a rare fish (7% drop rate).
- If you get a rare fish, it will still drop two rares, however one is always Jade Story Fish, and one is always a random rare.
- Of the 9 rare bubbles, all contained a Jade Story Fish, and I also got Invisible Smelt (x4), Inconspicuous Catfish (x2), Collectable Saltfin (x2), and Very Tiny Whale (x1).

And the big surprise? While clicking bubbles I got the Great Sea Ray mount. I had no idea you could get it this way, and looking through the comments, someone as recently as a couple of months ago also got it in the same spot., doing the same thing.

Wowhead says it can be fished in Hillsbrad Foothills at 44.1 39.3. I go to 44.1 39.3. I catch it in 8 minutes after hours of dupes at multiple locations.
