Shard of Sciallax is one of the Rare Archaeology solves coming in Legion. Completing this project will reward you one of the six relics listed in the chart below.

Obtaining Rare Solves in Legion

Based on the latest information, Legion Archaeology Rare solves WILL NOT be obtained from surveying, but rather will be part of an ongoing story questline. Every 2 weeks a quest will appear from the Archaeology trainer (博學者達莉諾絲), granting a Rare project at it's completion. Note that level 110 will be required for these quest.

In Legion, there will be a number of relics that can be crafted (or unearthed in the case of Archaeology) via various professions. These relics can be applied to slots on your artifact weapon (see the end of this post for further details).

Some further details:

All relics crafted via Blacksmithing, Enchanting, Engineering and Inscription bear the "Unique-Equipped: Crafted Relic (1)" tag.

You can only ever equip 1 crafted relic (regardless of profession) on a single Artifact Weapon at a time.
This restriction is not applicable to the Archaeology relic - this can be equipped along with any other crafted relic.

Crafted relics are Bind in Equip, and can be bought/sold on the Auction House or traded.
Archaeology relics are Bind on Account.
These profession relics boost your Artifact Weapon by ~~+17~~ +31 item levels.
Relics CANNOT be upgraded using 滅塵 like other crafted gear.

What are relics?

Relics are upgrades to Artifact weapons. At present, each Artifact weapon has 3 relic slots, which each slot only accepting a certain type of relic. Types include Arcane, Blood, Fel, Fire, Frost, Holy, Iron, Life, Shadow and Storm.
