This will proc about every 16 or 17 shots on average, and gives a nice big chunk of crit, which can equate to some excessively nasty Burst Damage in a PvP situation (assuming you're in fact lucky enough to get it at the right moment.) It's not really all that recommended for PvE though as Imp Aspect of the hawk will always provide a solid boost, while this becomes weaker as crit goes upwards. (And if you're a raiding survival hunter, fully buffed should put you fairly close to 40% +)

I have to go against 2 of the people posting above me saying that this can be a nice pvp talent. It's not. In general this talent is quite poor because the proc chance is low, it does nothing when it doesnt proc and even if it does proc then your still not guaranteed to get something out of it. After all, you could not crit during those measily 8 seconds, or those crits could have happenend anyway.

In addition when pvping you're not standing still most of the time, especially if you're being focused upon. Often you will be moving/kiting, meaning you will fire less shots, reducing the times this talent will be up. Because your often kiting/moving, you will also be able to make less use of this talent once it does proc.

If that wasn't enough, this talent also prevents you from taking better pvp talents. 5 points in this means you'll probably pick up Readiness so you cant have Scatter Shot. Even if you dont take Readiness (quite understandable but in which case, why are you taking this talent?!) you still cut yourself of from Barrage and either Improved Stings or Mortal Shots.

The only use this talent has is if you dont like to wave Multi Shot in your shot rotation (and therefore dont want to pick up Barrage) and you dont like Improved Aspect of the Hawk for some reason. In that case this adds roughly 3% crit on boss fights (according to some math I cba to find again), which is #$%^ poor for a talent that high up, but atleast it's something I suppose.
