Best In Slot Gear for Restoration Shaman Healing in Phase 3
In Phase 3, there are a couple of different gear setups that are very good. Most slots are still just one best item, but a few have alternatives that won't meaningfully change your throughput. The Tier 6 (

) set bonuses should be obtained as quickly as possible, as they synergize together and are extremely strong.

Should Restoration Shaman Healing Choose Aldor or Scryer for BiS in TBC Classic Phase 3?
Shamans can pick both

without much penalty. The Aldor shoulder enchant is slightly better, but the difference is minuscule from the Scryers enchant when considering your full gear stat bonuses. In general, it is best to pick based on which faction is cheaper to buy reputation materials for, as Aldor, for example, can often be extremely expensive due to having the favored shoulder enchant for most specializations.
Aldor offer a
very slightly
superior shoulder enchant for healing.
Scryers offer a decent staff at Revered,

is another great and more traditionally itemized cloak, and since it comes from trash mobs, it should be easy to get, especially if you farm the Black Temple trash mobs regularly.

Staves and other two-handed weapons generally grant less total healing than an MH+OH combo, and also lack the extra armor and block a shield provides. Thus, we would strongly recommend you avoid two-handed weapons unless the amount of stats on the weapon is way better than what you are currently using.
Crystal Spire of Karabor
is the ultimate Phase 3 weapon, sporting a huge amount of healing power and a special proc which makes your heals on low health targets even more powerful!
Vengeful Gladiator's Salvation
is the new PvP healing weapon in Season 3 and also an excellent option for arena players.
Lightfathom Scepter
is much easier to get with the Tier 5 nerfs, and so is
Merciless Gladiator's Salvation
, due to being the old season PvP weapon, which means it is discounted and requires no rating.

Whenever possible, try to use shields if they have comparable stats to the off-hands at your disposal, as that will make any physical damage that comes your way much more manageable. We will be listing some of the best off-hand options below as well, since sometimes you just cannot get a good shield to drop.
Bastion of Light
is the best healing shield in the game, and very close in power to
Felstone Bulwark
.
Aegis of the Vindicator
and the PvP healing shields,
Vengeful Gladiator's Redoubt
and
Merciless Gladiator's Redoubt
, are also very strong and can be used as a stepping stone until you get a Tier 6 shield.

, which boost different core heals of the Restoration Shaman kit. Use the one most adequate to the content you are facing at any given moment, and consider having a totem-swap macro to put in the adequate totem for the spell you will be casting next.
