I cannot fully describe the awesomeness of this talent. Multi-hit mangle, adrenaline rush and cc immunity in one instant cast move. It even has a relatively small cooldown; what more could you want?

I don't think this will be a issue because of the reduction in energy cost in cat, but i'm wondering if powershifting will cancel out the effect ?

This is actually a two-edged sword because when you could possibly need these 30% of health, you don't really need that cleaving effect, and vice-versa. And if you're feared, you might not need these 30% of extra health(which can turn out to an even worse situation: warlock fears you, puts lots of dots on you and right when the dots bring you down to like 50% the buff expires, you're probably under 20% of health. and with warlocks having a talent that gives em more dmg to low hp people, this can become hairy. :) but these are all just pipe-dreams ^^) respectively the cleaving effect, meaning that you will have to choose which of these effects you will want to kinda waste, since berserk has a rather high cooldown and a rather short duration...

just my opinion of this spell :)

Given as we can't have both Berserk and Omen of Clarity at level 70 when patch 3.0 hits before Wrath's release, I've done some quick maths (quite likely to be wrong) to compare the energy gains from the two.

Omen of Clarity - 371 attacks (300 white, 71+ special) in 5 mins * 6% proc = 22 clearcasts * 40/42 energy
= 924 (shred) or 880 (mangle) energy gained.

Berserk - (at best) 10 special attacks halved in cost = 10 * 42/2
= 210 (excessive powershifting / use of Tiger's Fury & King of the Jungle talent) energy gained.
or (at worst) 7 special attacks
= 147 energy gained.

Not that great for sustained Kitty DPS, but fantastic for CC removal and burst damage in arena.
Also a brilliant "last stand" addition to Dire Bear.

Berserk fills in 4 holes with 1 talent for feral druids -

1. Lack of a shield wall bear form ability. Since bear druids usually have 130% a prot warriors health while tanking, berserk will lead to a much larger hp cushion than last stand for warriors. It should work perfectly for 20% bosses that enrage.

2. AOE tanking ability. On some AOE pulls, ferals can not keep up with aoe spam to hold aggro, but once every 5 minutes a feral druid can aoe tank very effectively (maul / mangle / swipe constant spam while tab targeting) on some brutal mob pulls.

3. Cat form now has a burst button. 15 seconds of 21 energy shred is delicious.

4. PVP, and an oh !@#$ button that breaks all the CC that terrorizes feral pvp. Of course, since you cant shift out after using berserk its also a handicap to prevent you from just being a BM hunter spamming 80 abilities while being unmanageable.

Note that it says "Berserk instantly clears all effects which cause loss of control of your character, and makes you immune to them for the duration while in Cat Form, Bear Form, or Dire Bear Form."

This means, it removes fears, stuns, sleeps etc. and makes you immune to THEM, but during Berserk you're still vulnerable to all kinds of snares and movement impairing effects.

This talent just went from EXTREME to something good in my eyes atleast. Talking PvP wise that is.

Awesome talent to tank multiple targets
In cat this is an incredible dps boost and you will have a hard time to not get 5 combo points again with a rip still in half its duration.
additional notes;
This ability WONT break stealth when using it in cat form.
This ability WONT fade when shifting out of your current form.
You need to be in cat form/dire bear/bear form to activate the ability.

I dont know why u get so exited because u dont even get the half of the talents/spells of the initial berserk ability as the first commenter wrote. 30% hp in same talent with 3min cd lost, as i remember maul was hitting to 3 mobs that u lost it too, clears all cc effects and makes u immune to them --> u only have fear immunity now.
So while thinking warlock metamorphosis talent we only get an ordinary lvl 60 spell or something for bear form, cat form still same. but u lost the tigers fury ability for cat form also.

I'm sick of PvP talents all over the place. Protection Paladins and Warriors get imbalanced and really fun talents for their tanking at their last tier, but we get this piece of %^&* which is a copy of AR and bestial wrath? Whoo tanking is going to be so much fun now that I have a skill to press every 3 min to do absolutely NOTHING when tanking a boss!

Ooooo, found a "glitch" with Berserk, hope someone can confirm. Berserk is NOT making me immune to Death Coil fear effects.

Blizz confirmed that Death Coil is exempt from Berserk's fear-breaking ability since it is a horror effect and not a fear effect.

What's next? Scare effect? Frightening effect? Spooked effect? I mean come on, how many different ways can we get around the wording on an ability?

Ok, I haven’t played as a feral tank since 2.1 but from what I remember of tanking this doesn’t seem as amazing for a bear as some of the other tank's 51 pointers. From what I have read bears have plenty of AE threat now so the target limit isn’t that big of a deal. The CD removal on mangle is nice but for its 12% uptime so every three minutes that is approximately 11 extra mangles, assuming rage allows for it and it most likely wont unless it is a boss which will make the extra target aspect useless. Mangle is a fairly high threat ability so it would be logical for me to assume between 12 and 15k threat (this is most likely high since I’m assuming 2k white dps, but I am not sure about the dps increase at 80 and I would rather be high than low), for a net gain of around 75 tps. Assuming dps scaled up equal to our tank's then they should be between 3-4k dps. Blessing of Salvation was removed so it should be safe to assume 3.1k tps at max for dps. Blizzard stated tanks will be able to hold their own in dps come wrath so it should be safe to assume the tank above does around 3.5k dps; this is approximately 4k tps so this talent will give a gain of less than 2% threat. Now as it is we should be around 25% higher threat than the dps, so if we skip this talent we could go with a 0/50/21 build allowing us a large amount more utility, something druids are meant to have. If you did go with a 50/21 spec then it would be possible to get NS and allow for a well timed bres on a healer or a 5+ heal that could crit (2.5k threat also on a 3min CD so we make some of the lost threat back). the heal+a pot could heal for over 15k assuming crits, and from what I’ve heard the highest health anyone's achieved without gimping for it in t7 content was 28k so this would heal for over 50% of your max health. I’m not saying this will be the ideal build for a min/max hard core guild, but it might help on progression (Brutallus for example: at 15% a burn hits a mage who isn’t paying attention. Instead of it being a wipe from the mage spreading it to a healer and the healer dieing the tank could emergency bres the dead healer, next swing cycle he could throw out a innervate if the healer couldn’t use a pot or come up with a innervate from another raid member).

If anyone wants to check my math or give feedback on my numbers please do. I don’t have links from blizzard stating tanks will do better damage, and most of the dps numbers I came up with are not based off anything except a few WWS's I could pull up. Also I cannot check anything on live since my game time is expired. Thank you for reading this wall of text, and I'm sorry if there are any grammatical errors

They are now reducing number of targets when Mangle is active in Bear Form from 3 to 1.

Source- Berserk now hit up to 1 target instead of 3. (Error ?)

i have found that u can take most people out with this combo before they can attack u i dunno if im the 1st one to make it up im prolly not but heres a way to take out almost anyone

ok 1st u have to have the imp shred glyph and the talents that make shred better next sneek up on a alli / horde then when ur in range of pouncing pop beserking pounce them mangle shred untill theres 1 second left on pounce then pop maim. (u dont need to throw the mangle in there but it hlps a lil). then keep shredding i only have a few feral epics like a belt and gloves and leggs and i can do 16k ( i have crappy gear atm) with this combo its truely devistating.
the only hard parts are getting behind the target and getting maim off @ the right time. due to the new patch this combo isnt going to be as great.

One of the best way to use this on bosses is: Mangle, rake, shredx3, Rip, mangle, savage roar, tiger fury (with 3 points in KoJ) berserk, mangle and spamm shred

During Berserk, Bite should be used as a CP dump when both SR and Rip have long duration remaining (10+ secs).
vs.
During Berserk, Bite should not be used as it empties Energy and leads to yellowattack downtime, wasting the 50% savings. Instead, just Shred-spam as long as SR/Rip/Rake are going.

Assume 5/5 Rend and Tear but 0/5 Feral Aggression

Cataclysm, is the first description stated a passive which is up 100% of the time?
Your Lacerate periodic damage has a 30% chance to refresh the cooldown of your Mangle (Bear) ability and make it cost no rage.
Because it seems a bit useless that, when active, it has no cooldown and there is a chance of refreshing the cooldown of mangle.

Since patch 4.0.6 the proc chance has been increased from 30% to 50% per each tick of Lacerate, and has a new Spell Alert identifier, but it no longer clears fear effects or makes you Immune to them( such as Fear Psychic Scream etc. ).
Also, it still remains undispellable.
