This is a great PvE talent for Feral and Balance and an amazing talent for Guardians. One of the greatest strengths of the druid class is the ability to battle rez an ally. However, casting rebirth hurts the druids DPS or leaves them open to get squished by the boss due to dropping shapeshift. I expect most druids will take this talent if only for the instant-cast w/o form restriction; the improved heal/duration is just gravy.

One warning about macros involving Nature's Swiftness: they don't always work the way you want them to.

/cast Nature's Swiftness
/cast Rebirth

If you use a macro similar to the one above while moving, it will give a "can't do that while moving" error. Alternately, it can put you into caster form. I would recommend a macro similar to the following:

/castsequence Nature's Swiftness, Rebirth

Also very useful in pvp for instant cyclones, not as useful for feral though, as they can essentially get the same thing through procs in combat.

If you want a one press macro that won't pop you out of form:

Flying by and see a mate almost dying because he pulled to many mobs and wanna toss him a heal without leaving bird form or entering combat? You can. Instant Healing Touch in bird form.

See someone of the opposite faction chasing down a mate and you wanna slow them down from the comfort of the skies... You can! Entangling root and Cyclone in bird form.

You're running the flag in the BG and wanna heal yourself without slowing down by leaving Travel Form... you can... instant Healing Touch in travel Form.

Pulled a Crocodile on a underwater-loot-the-items quest and don't wanna deal with him or leave Aquatic Form... instant Hibernate.

This ability trumps all the others in the tier by the sheer utility of it... it is an offensive and a defensive cooldown. Not just a lame self-heal.

In addition if you use it with cyclone you will have 9 seconds cyclone duration which is pretty good at pvp.

For restoration druids considering this ability against cenarion ward, you're ultimately going to get more out of this talent than any of the other tier two talents.

Nature's Swiftness brings a lot more utility than the other two talents ( Renewal and Cenarion Ward )

This is because it's simply great for PVE restoration druids, the spell actually brings a lot more to the table than appears at first.

It helps you keep a tank topped off, and in the worst case scenarios, stop him from dying
Mathematically, you get more bang for your buck with Nature's Swiftness than with Cenarion Ward; with 187% of your spell power being contributed towards an instant (Not to mention the extra 50% Healing you get on top of it which brings the heal to around 280% of your spell power) -
but only 171% of your spell power is used in Cenarion Ward, not to mention that the damage has to be taken to proc the healing over time effect, and so it will be more effective in the long run to have an on demand instant healing touch or CC.
against Renewal, it can provide a lot more for your raid and on a much shorter cooldown, and what's more is that your own healing should really be enough to keep you topped off or around 70% plus.
It has great synergy with Soul of the Forest and can really help you spit out a lot of fast healing touches, whilst placing much longer Wild Growth casts, helping you to conserve mana by eliminating the need to cast 24/7, and when used with an instant healing touch, swiftmend then wild growth at which point your should bloom, creating a very effective 'intervention' type heal, that provides powerful raid healing at the same time.

It is worth noting that this spell allows you to cast spells in any form instantly, including Flight Form. This makes it a great advantage, as you can root enemies, heal yourself etc, without leaving the form.
If you're farming or are weak, this is a great escape method.

NOTE PTR 5.4 patch notes: "Nature's swiftness is no longer a talent, and is now an ability learned by restoration druids at level 30." Bye bye insta combat res :(

With the T17 2-piece bonus for restoration druids, Nature's Swiftness now works on the next 3 spell casts.

The 100% extra healing from this spell DOES stack with Soul of the Forest. Very solid burst healing.

Note: in the tooltip on WoWhead it says 50% extra healing & duration from Nature's Swiftness, but as of writing (6th Dec 2014) it's 100% ingame.

For all veteran resto Druid, remember to change your Nature's Swiftness + Healing Touch macro to Nature's Swiftness + Regrowth.

eg.

Hit that button on those oh snap moment. 100% crit Glyphed Regrowth + Living Seed (maybe + Soul of the Forest) gonna deliver some really nasty burst healing.
The best thing is... it is free!

In the current patch this has an interesting interaction with the soul of the forest talent. The 200% SOTF boost, and 100% NS boost are not additive, they're multiplicative.

This means you can swiftmend to turn a 2k regrowth into a 6k, then NS to make it 12k, 6 times more powerful.

Combine this with the abundance talent and the vision legendary and you can reliably force it to crit, doubling it again to be 12 times as strong

Honestly this combination has saved a tank (or a DPS who derped) following a huge hit more times than I can count, giving druids a massive single target CD in the time of 2 GCD's (so about a 2.5 sec cast).

do note, the boost only applies to regrowth initial heal. The HOT only gets the SOTF boost
