Шаманом высокого уровня приходится убивать вручную,слишком много целей для цепной молнии,а после тотемов огня нельзя лутать так как он ваншотит и не дает нанести урон самому.

Вообщем, такая штука, если моба убиваешь не ты, а допустим твой пет (хант/лок) или тотем, то ты не можешь снять с них лут. Насчёт аур не знаю точно. АоЕ самого перса работает нормально.

у мобов мало хп и, если они дохнут от "раскаленного доспеха", то лута нет, поэтому либо снимите этот "спелл", либо аое-шьте пока они не добежали до вас.

в игре есть нюанс:бывает так, что особо умные люди сначала 1 раз ударят моба а потом ведут его на местную базу, там где его добивают охранники (например в хилсбарде так убивают медведей), или например вы бьете моба а ваш друг хай лвл его добивает с одного хита. близы не смогли полностью прекрыть эту лавочку, поэтому сделали следующее: перед тем как обыскать моба нужно сначала снести ему 40% собственными усилиями,а дальше как хотите. так вот, если ваш пэт, тотем или аура убивают моба без ваших усилий- это не считается, вы моба не убивали. вот и делайте выводы :)

Решил пойти пофармить на достижение 25 гербовых накидок. Читаю эти комменты, с каких мобов падают. Прихожу, убиваю ирода, жду мобов, убиваю одним аое всех мобов, думаю, ну с рана 3-4 точно выпадет. Лутаю первого моба... омг! Накидка! Рэндом такой рэндом...

хм. в атласе стоит шанс дропа в 0.4% по себе знаю что после 30 забегов она мне так и не дропнулась на мейне(,но на альте с первого захода ролл пяти человек не отменяли)),таблица шансов имхо не соответствует действительности ибо china дроп не отменяли

в MoP Монастырь Алого Ордена будет полностью переделан, главной фишкой нового режима будет то, что после убийства нового босса, который будет стоять на месте Ирода, толпа мобов, не будет появляться вообще, и как следствие Гербовая накидка Алого ордена более не будет доступна в игре, удачи в фарме.

Вполне возможно, что в МоР'е эту накидку станет невозможно получить. Т.к. Ирод сменится на Мечника Харлана, а после него не будут сбегаться новобранцы.

Что ж ...я как и прочие неудачники в Вов,которым падает все с 100500-го раза, решила выбить себе эту накидку...
упала она с 8 или 9 захода (на мое превеликое удивление!). Залутана была не с 1-го моба, я не находилась в пати и не танцевала церемониальные танцы :) Все как всегда, полнейший рандом и никакой логики. Всем удачи!:) Луе Гордунни

Ребят, на самом деле шанс указан ошибочно. Шанс там 0,4%. Выпало мне рана с тридцатого. Я согильдейцев таскал по этому инсту вместе с собой. Ему - паровоз, а мне - накидка. На всякий случай поставил мастер лут. Так же выбил топор с Ирода на трансмогрификацию. Накидка понравилась, необычная.

Почитал комменты, решил бежать фармить, т.к. 100%-ной вероятности, что Близы сохранят эту накидку после выхода Пандарии всё же нет...
В итоге, выпала со второго захода :)
Итак, потрачено 10 минут, отправлено на вечный покой 40 Новобранцев (2 пака по 20 тел), т.е. шанс дропа составил 2,5%.

Накидка очень впечатляющая. Примерно за неделю до того как убрали ее решил сходить за ней,мало ли,но рт поджимало,так и не успел,а потом руки не дошли. Остается надеяться что вернут,хотя бы в измененном виде.

Здравствуйте дорогие любители тематики Алого ордена.
Я играю за чернокнижника и полюбил Алый Орден практически сразу как увидел :)
Уж очень хотелось мне стать "одним из них",но принято считать что есть только латный вариант трансмога под Алый орден.
Если вы видели все типы НПС Алого ордена,то думаю вы сразу заметили малую схожесть с доступными предметами в вове для трансмогрификации.Но что же делать нам,носителям ткани?Неужто мы так и не станем членами этой организации?Нет,еще есть шансы!Я решил заняться этим вопросом и стал подбирать комплекты экипировки схожей с тематикой Алого ордена.
Вот собственно что у меня получилось :)
Голова: Капюшон из ткани Скверны
Плечи: Оплечье пламенных недр
Грудь: Красное льняное одеяние
Перчатки: Красные перчатки из магической ткани
Пояс: Кушак капитана Сандерса Тут проблема заключается в том,что этот пояс возможно получить только в завершении цепочки квестов 10+ уровня если не ошибаюсь,многие думаю квест прошли и пояс просто удалили :( Квест: Спрятанное сокровище капитана Сандерса (начало квеста - Карта сокровищ капитана Сандерса ) Для Орды доступен в продаже!
Ступни: подобрать просто по цвету с аукциона,подойдут самые разные.
Ну и самое главное это Гербовая накидка Алого ордена шанс дропа как говорит вовхед очень низкий,но мне лично дропнула накидка с 11 захода в нормал,да и не встречал я людей которые тратили больше 40 заходов в инст :)

Оружие: Самое идеальное решение это Светящийся посох Светлой рощи.Ничего лучше и быть не может,но к сожалению я хочу с мечом + лефт хенд,и пока не нашел хороших вариантов :(

Буду рад услышать комментарии и предложения по поводу других вариантов экипировки.

К сожалению не могу приложить скрин как доказательство, так как новый пользователь тут. Просто знайте что у вас всё еще есть возможность, и да, она выпала мне не сразу и даже не с 10 попытки, но всё же выпала.

Упала 24.12.2021. На получение потратил около 2х часов. Метод фарма был взят из комментариев соседей.
Суть в том, что вы создаете группу в поиске (например, классические рейды) и покидаете её в нужный момент. Например, играя за паладина, я покидал группу сразу после выхода из коридора в начале инста. Далее на коня - убиваем лучников - убиваем 1 босса - прижимаемся к мобам, которые не дают пройти - ломимся ко второму боссу - убиваем и лутаем. В итоге после убийства нужного босса меня телепортировало ко входу в монастырь алого ордена примерно через 10-15 сек, что заметнее быстрее, чем просто топать ко входу.
Обновляем инст и повторяем процедуру! Удачи в получении табарда!

This item drops off of the Scarlet trainees that spawn IMMEDIATELY after Herod is downed. They are very weak and a group capable of killing Herod (or 1 level 60) should wipe these guys out with absolutely no trouble.

Mine dropped the first time I went after it, so I can't speak to how difficult the drop is. It looks cool compared to most tabards, happy hunting.

If you have somone in your group who came specifically for this item, be careful when autolooting the corpses after Herod. This is a 'white' item but it is still Bind on Pickup. I've accidently taken one of these from someone before because I auto-loot all the time.

This item is very rare, it's a lone drop that can't be rolled for since it's white, and it's a unique tabard which mostly only higher levelled players keep since it's more attractive than their guild tabards - I know I have one (that looks especially nice with the Judgement Legs)

This item has a very low drop rate. Players who are patient enough, will eventually have one drop and be satisfied with their work.

I got this on the first try with my Shaman, and 8th try with my Hunter. even though the droprate is low. quite a number of Scarlet Trainees runs into the room, making the possibility to loot this rather high.

The loot percentage and number of loots on this item might be wrong on sites such as thottbot and wowhead, because this item was not obtainable until recently (patch 1.11 I believe).

Forget which patch, but after it went green I did 2 runs on my 60 rogue to get it, soloed Herod, then as the trainees came I stealthed, let them line up in the middle, grabbed them all and used my Ramstien's Bolts of Lightning to instant kill them because they only have 100 hp each.

As a level 39 Undead Warlock, level 70 Troll Hunter, who was my GM, took me through the armory for Herod since he was all I had left, the Trainees came and we killed them with ease, first Trainee dropped this Tabard which he let me have, then another had one which he took, seeing as how it's Unique and he had wanted one for awhile.
Plus the shoulder pads and ravager dropped, and he let me DE them.

This took me 3 runs as a disc/holy priest. You really only need to kill a few mobs to get to herod: the 2 at the entrance, three crusaders in the hallway at the top of the first set of stairs, and then 2 more in the 2nd to last hallway. The rest can be avoided if you are 60+.

You may wish to kill the roamers if you don't want to risk it. Happy hunting.

i see this all the time, mages seem to be so in demand for an instance that i once got invited to do SM ARM 5 times in one day, the tabard dropped about 7 times

park a mage near the door and tell them to spam arcane explosion as soon as herod dies, that'll take care of all the traineese with ease

hah omfg i got this in the funniest way possible..well more time consuming than anything. i ran this with my hunter, and it dropped 8 times in about 20+ runs. everytime i was with a group and it dropped, i would always tell them that i've been farming sm arm just for this. many of them had no clue what it was but decided to need it anyways. funny how things work out, once i hit 51 i soloed this and got it on my first try. for some reason i started farming sm arms for ravager to complete my obsession with the sm suit, i had every piece but the chest. man even though i walked through it, FD at the part nearly at the last hallway, i didn't finally get ravager till just last friday? man ill tell you what though, some people are really heartless. but at least i got it in the end though. :)

Ive been through about 7 times and guess wut no tabard and i thought herod dropped it not the trainees im only lv 34 but i can solo up to about herod then need a lil help to kill him and the trainees r way 2 easy i just turn retaliation on and watch the body's drop

There are roughly 20 Scarlet Trainees to kill per run. With an average drop rate of 1.5%, statistically you should see one within 5 runs.

If you are unlucky (like me), you will see zero in 30+ runs.

I was farming for this on my 62 Mage, because seriously have you seen how ugly the good cloth chest quest rewards are in Outland

Took 6 runs till it dropped.

A mage my 60+ should be able to avoid all the mobs there through fancy footwork and a couple blinks and can get to Herod in about <5 minutes. Also, Herod's blues that he drops are disenchanted into small radiant shards which go for a good amount.

but i find it usefull if you arent lvl 70 or 60 or above that cause what im thinking is blizzard wont let you have that stuff but alas i cannot prove it and it is only a theory but it could happen

After getting this tabard, I have to say I'm not too impressed. Kidding, I know as well as everyone that it's purely for the "I have this and you don't" effect. It might be nice though to give it the effect to make you neutral to the scarlets when you're wearing it though. After all, they think as one quest put it "that any person not wearing their tabard has been tainted by the scourge"

this tabard kicks @$$ no matter how you put it. it's cooler than any tabard out there aside from the tabard of the argent dawn. it would be nice, as stated in other comments, if it did allow you to have an effect like that of the corrupted ashbringer does and make you allied w/ the scarlets and hated w/ the argent but once you take it off rep goes back to normal. also i have had reports of this tabard dropping off morgaine in the cathedral, but i have yet to actually see this happen.

Though the quest does say that, I don't think that should be done because then players could all just wear their tabards and farm only the final bosses or each SM instance by taking it off only at the end.

Actually you can become Exalted with the Scarlet Crusade in Scarlet Monastery when you equip the Corrupted Ashbringer and you get that from the Four Horsemen Chest in Naxxramas after beating the four horsemen:

After 2 60's, 1 48 and my current 70, I had never seen the tabard drop.
However, today, after 7 herod shoulders, 2 scarlet leggings, 1 raging berserker helm & 1 ravager I was at wits end.

Mindlessly killing, I was getting annoyed at why sometimes I could loot 10 bodies..and other times only 5!!

Just before I gave up, it suddenly clicked that IF MY PET KILLS THEM BEFORE I TOUCH THEM I can't loot them!

I was killing them with rain of fire and I thought seeing them glow meant they were taking damage. I then realised by tabbing, that just because they glowed doesn't mean they are taking damage at all!

So on my 12th run I had my pet on passive and individually syphoned life. Had the full 20 bodies to loot & there was the tabard :)

I do wonder if it were in the pet -killed bodies earlier- nevertheless I am glad I have it :)

I'd seen maybe 3-4 people on my realm with this tabard. Was kind of ironic I didn't even want the thing and it dropped when the droprate is supposedly rly bad. One day I was running my r/l freind's shammy alt *he is one of the people who had the tabard* and after Herod we killed all the trainee's and as im walking to zone I see "Hey the scarlet tabard dropped. You should take it man." so i did. I probably wont even wear it cuz its kinda ugly but still fun to have low lvls say "Hey where'd you get that tabard" when i really do wear it

well, i ran this a good few tiems on my pally, when i was the levels for experience and just to try for this tabard. i probably ran it about 35 or so times, and finally i got it. it is soloable as a 53 pally, just dont do anyting stupid and use consecration after herod

I killed most since my felguard kept aggroing and I couldn't be arsed to dismiss him. and anyway it was pretty quick, just gather up 10 mobs then a few seeds... and i needed cloth for a low lvl alt.

anyway i got it on second run on the very last lootable trainee, I was already giving up cause my bags were full and they all dropped junk, but fortunately the last one had it so no need for more runs. oh and a blue Cobalt Crusher dropped as well, good for 25g or so

Random loot is random. From when I started running the place in the 30's to a few days ago (70 now. Its been a while) I had never seen it after countless armory runs. I was running a lowbie pally in our guild to finish out her scarlet set. On the third run (when her legs dropped) I came across two tabards >.>. Yay random loot.

I had the same problem as the one with the Pet killing the mobs. I had my Molten Armor skill on. And I lost many kills until I took it off after reading here. If they die from it you cant loot them..

So take off all buffs, items or pets that deals damage.

I got this on my 3rd run while on my 70 rogue. If you are an engineer you can use a grenade *higher lvl one just to be sure* and group them together and kill all of them at once.

All I can say is: random loot is random.

I have run the place countless, countless times from the 30's all the way to my 70's and not once did I see it. Then, running a friend through I had two drop off the group (as well as her legs of Herod :P). Persevere all you hopefuls, your bound to see it eventually.

I got 2 Tarbards on my first run. Soloed as a 51 Druid, Prowled past everything up untill the hall with the door to the spiral room and cleared that hallway. Then I killed Herod and took out the Trainees within 1 min. Picked up one from a Trainee and then found another while looting.

Pretty easy if you know what your doing.

I ran this on my 70 Mage for the sole purpose of getting this tabard.
It took me exactly 19 runs for it to drop, Also the time it dropped 2 others were also there, It is BOP so I couldn't give it to any friends.

ive been running my rerolled BE paladin through for the SM gear and every time 10+ times now or so ive had it drop, this last time it didnt. I think its a kick ass tabard though, only one comparable in my opinion are a couple for outland and the Argent Dawn Tabard (which of course is the Scarlet crusade revamped and not evil)

Dedicated a whole evening to farm this. I had extreme unluck, moonstones and other greens that according to WoWhead has a much lower droprate, dropped. After almost reaching the instance cap for the third time, I was starting to loose faith, but there it dropped on my 13th run. And it was totally worth the struggle, looks great on my hunter!

Took me 8 runs in total before it dropped. YMMV of course.

Before I wanted this I never saw it drop, never and I leveled like 6 lvl 70 chars, all did SM at one time or another. Maybe if I had lvled 2 more I would of seen the first drop then ;)

The 20 or so trainee's that will rush you after Herod goes down can all drop the tabard, this of course improves the odds of it dropping times 20. So keep at it if you want it... The low drop rate is kinda compensated by the amount of trainee's you kill each run.

As already mentioned, the trainee's have very little hitpoints. Be sure to kill them yourself, do not use pets, dmg shields and the like to kill them. You won't be able to loot the corpses then. (As in me as a druid didn't use "Thorns" when killing them.)

This item has dropped about 5 times out of the 15 times I've ran it leveling a friend. I'm on Azgalor-US. Am I just really lucky? I doubt it, my friends say it drops all the time too.

i was very very lucky when i attempted to get this item, i got it in my first run! after previously going in to the wrong part of SM and getting http://www.wowhead.com/?item=34227 although being a 70 Rogue Deadman's hand is absolutely nothing worth bragging about, but is instead in this case used as a measure of my luck :O

All i can say is if it seems to take a while, just stay optomistic, i mean at least there are about 20 of the trainees each run :)

One of the best tabards in the game, if your a high level beyond Scarlet Monastery then you can easily solo Herod, kill all the Scarlet Trainees that come down and hope the tabard drops, if not just reset the instances and do it all over again until it finally drops, it's well worth it in the end.

I've been farming SM for the last two days 12 hours shifts,not for the Tabard of course just for the gold from BoE stuff I sell at AH.I have killed Herod dozens of times,nuking the trainees afterward (Explosive Trap FTW!) and have yet to see this.

since the level cap has been raised to 80 this has become much easier to farm as you can walk by most of the mobs and not agro them i say most because some of them are to close to be able to walk by i got mine on my fourth attempt and it only took me about 30 mins to do it because of you not killing all the mobs i play and elemental shaman for those of you intrested

Haha, it took me 4 times as my warrior to get this. the easiest way i found if you are soloing it, is to take the guys in the first room. then run straight through the courtyard. Then, you run down the hall, their might be a guy their, you run through all the rooms farthest away from the guys. i only had to take 4-5 pulls(depending on patrols) to get to herod. Then, i would just run right out.

I ran this today so many times that Blizzard actually blocked me going back in to the instance... STILL NO TABARD! I only want it for the Achievement reward. To be fair as a lvl 80 DK I can run this section of Scarlet Monastery in about 5 minutes but that's not the point... I want the damned thing and it's soul destroying how bad the drop rate is!

Took me about 8 - 10 runs to obtain this (I lost track after a while...).

Here's a little tip for all u that want this. I think that the max number of dungeon u can enter in an hour is 5, or around 5 anyhow. As a high lvl alliance i bypassed almost everything on the way to herod, but that only takes about 2 min. U'll want to spend the time doing something so u don't get stuck outside the door as i was for about 40 minutes, so my tip is to just pull the whole SM armory and loot them, it takes about 10 min if u hold shift while looting. In the runs i did i earned about 200 gold and lots of silk and greens, a nice bonus that u can easily get if u want this tabard.

P.S: all u prot pallys out there, use your sacred shield and u won't get a repair bill at all. ^^

According to the WoW Armory, this also drops from Scarlet Trooper, but I'd still recommend going with Scarlet Trainee, lower level and easier to farm.

Still drops in current patch as of this post, I had to do 8-10 runs myself, I even opened a ticket with a GM on like my 5th or 6th run to make sure it was still in the game and it dropped while talking with him. Make of that what you will. =P

I recently went farming for this on my lv 61 Unholy Death Knight. It wasn't much of a problem for me to get to Herod's room, I just had to wait for the guards to make their rounds and creep away from the aggro range. It ended up saving me quite a few minutes of killing mobs. Eventually, on my 13th run, it dropped 13 times. Coincidence/Sheer Statistics? Or MAGIC? No, Probably just coincidence. Oh and btw I knew these Scaret Crusaders had an odd looking tabard, they must be like the CBI (Canadians bieng instanced).

Got mine tonight, despite my usual terrible luck. I am not convinced that my tank spec, with the crusader title, and duel weapons with the ghost skull companion made it drop. (really my luck is awful)

Took me about 7 runs today, with around 10 others throughout time.

imo this goes great with the crusader title, and works well with death knights and pallies.

I have now done this stupid instance around 27 times for this tabard and it is not dropping AT ALL. Don't attempt it. Waste of time, I think the item is now absolutely unique as it no longer drops.

I loved grinding for this. 5 "clears" of the Armory, and I got 2 to drop. This was stupid fun as a 74 cat druid. The first time I even pulled Swipe out in cat form, and it worked wonders for aggroing essentially half the armory.

Easy farming for high level (70+, soloed at 80) mages. Bring up Mage Armor right after killing Herod, and fire off Blizzard just as the first trainees reach the bottom of the stairs. They shouldn't hit hard enough to interrupt you, and by the time the spell's finished, they'll all be dead and you should be able to loot all of them. with the random dugeon tool added/specific dungeon i selected only the scarlet instances and got this and just about every piece of the scarlet piece except the boots and chest piece, soon found out they are really rare, oh and i actually bought the gloves cus they never dropped, although i cant do that dungeon anymore through "random dungeon" i still check the AH every now and then for the remaining scarlet pieces, just for collection :D

I decided to run SM Armory for this tabard today. The first two runs were empty handed. On the third run, two of them dropped; I was only able to loot one of them though as it is a unique item.

It definitely looks nice, albeit dirty.

I have this on my shaman. Quite dirty, I must say, but it's a really cool item to have. Trying to get it on my priest and pally BoA alts, for the novelty, but I seem to be outrolled by other BoA alts every time it drops.

I have now run this instance 32 times in a row (appropriate waiting in between each so that I did only 4 per hour) and the darn thing STILL hasn't dropped. I'm beginning to wonder if all you people who say you have it really do. LOL Well, I will just have to keep trying. Confirmed. Just went in as a 67 BM Hunter with pet on passive and soloed Herod. Used Explosive Trap and killed all trainees. Got the tabard on the first run.

from reading all the posts here, I'd say the group I was in yesterday was pretty lucky. one of my roommates (lvl 70 paladin), boyfriend (lvl 33 mage), and I (lvl 34 hunter) were making a run through here and we were fortunate enough to get two tabards dropped on the first run.

Very easy tabard to get. At level 80, if you are playing with class that can solo instances easily, you can kill all thrash mobs with 1 or 2 pulls, and then go to boss. Boss is easily oneshotted, and then you can use some AoE spell to use them. Confirmed, that paladins can use Consercration, and are able to loot corpses.

Don`t worry, it`s still there. Took me ten runs within two days (due to *You've entered too many instances recently* notification). On my last run before lockout the damn thing dropped twice! Easy one if you are doin the 25 Tabards achievement, much easier than going exalted with a new faction.

i can confirm it still drops as of June/25/2010
so i run it 5 times with my friends shaman he gets bored and leaves
then i run it 7 times with my guildies pally he has to got to bed (12:46 pm)
then i decide to dual box it with my brothers lvl 64 warrior and when it drops after the second run
i cant loot it because my guy was standing near the entrance of the instance : \
oh well...
guess ill try again tommorow...

I've been farming for this a couple of days now. Not too many runs, ten or something - but its enough for me getting all silly. Well, suppose it will drop soon, but its indeed a random drop. :)
As a hunter I just run through the whole thing with passive pet, misdirect to him at the end and volley down the guys just for fun. Of course its easier to feign death, but its nice to see 4k dps in the recount and funny to see all the glimmering bodies (and looting them for the gold ofc). One run takes about four-five minutes, makes it easy to do four, do a random hc and go again. :)

I hadn't yet done Scarlet Monastery and I managed to get this on the first run through the Armory. At a rough 2% DR, the math I've seen so far is probably right

Also, if you're working on Well Read, I would recommend stopping both here and in Scholomance before going anywhere else. Most of the books in Stormwind and Ironforge are here; from what I understand, Scholomance also has a large number of books for the achievement. Hello everyone need some help. I have ran the instance 10 times and still no drop. Lvl 80 pally. I noticed If I let them hit me they die and can't loot but if I use consecration I can loot but still no drop. Correct me but if I can loot I should only have to grind for the drop. Either they increased the drop rate or I'm very, very, very, lucky. Got it on my two DK's with only 3 runs and my Paladin with only 2. I remember going weeks running SM for this tabard back in the day. I know luck plays a factor into getting items, but that frequently? On another note, it seems like they also reduced the amount of Trainee's that come out, it might just be me, but I remember a bigger pile.

Edit: Only just had a read on Scarlet Crusade lore and the other tabard I suggest above is the one that members of the Crimson Legion wear, found in Strath.

I did my achievement cleaning today (look at what achievements I need one or two things to finish and do them) and went to farm this tabard for the super easy 10 achievement... It took two runs, as a 80 (geared) Mage, just remember to turn off Molten Armor (The one time Mage Armor is a nice choice) and hit the trainees post Herod with a Flamestrike, Blizzard, or even an Arcane blast. Too easy for max level.

It's amazing on how fast people get whatever they are farming or whatever they are looking for in a specific instance... Everytime i come to check for a rare item, everyone seems to get it between the 5th and/or 10th run (being ironic here), but whenever i am the one looking for that same item, it takes well over the double or the triple number of ammounts that that specific player experienced...

RNG can't be that bad to me... For example all my alts (3 alts to be more specific) have the Frigid Frostling from Summer Festival... Those same alts all have at least a Brewfest mount (1 of them even has both)... 1 of those 3 alts has an Horseman Reins. My main has nothing "good" from the World Events (except the Pink Drake, but hey, i've done all the metas during a year, that's the least i could get as a reward...).

Sorry for the somewhat long post, but it's starting to get frustrating not earning anything good on my most played character... Rate up or down, i just needed to ventilate this frustration.

Got it on my 20 something run, thus completing the 25 Tabards achievement and saving me 50 Champion's Seal... :)

About the droprate keep in mind that wowhead just shows up the % of LOOTED mobs.
Since some of them do not have any loot at all the droprate is somewhat lower...

you dont need to FD, just puch your dps from the stairs @door on boss. jump down, lay a explosive trap and all Trainees are gonners then they spawn.

This is confirmed active as of 4.0.3.

It dropped for me like 15th run (did 5 runs before bed, then when I woke up and then waited 1 hour doing BGs until getting it).

I'm not sure if this is just a rumor or if it's true. But once it finally drops, it's on the first 'Scarlet Trainee' you loot. This might save you time, I don't know if it's true though. But if someone is seeing this and can confirm it, do it. :)

A suggestion if you ever decide to farm this. If you decide to pull the whole instance in one pull (as many can and will usually do), I would suggest stopping before Herod's room and killing everything there. If you pull them in with you, then the Trainees come in and you kill them, it's a lot of dead bodies to sort through to find the trainees that drop the tabard. Best of luck!

I was running the cathedral for silk cloth for my priest. I ran through it about 5 or 6 times before seeing the tabard drop. My method was kill herod and jump to the bottom of the circle, wait for all to file in and let them attack me until they do (lvl 62 protection paladin can take hits well) then used one hammer of the righteous and knocked them all out in one blow.

As an 85 it took me less than 15 minutes to run this 5 times before it finally dropped, just keep resetting. I was able to avoid 90% of the mobs and just head straight to Herod. Looks great, now I just need one more tabard to get the 25 achievement.

Heres some info I gathered while after this tabard. I've been playing WOW since the release, and I've always seen everyone with this tabard but never got around to getting it. I was lvl'n my priest and saw it drop but was out rolled. So my first horde character (a pally) I decided to farm it. My pally is lvl 59 at the moment so I could solo this. I would ran past all the npc's until Herod, kill him and then just AOE the Trainee's..... I ran this a total of 4 times. The first three times, nothing.... my 4th time, 3 tabards drop....lol. So i looted one and there yah go. These runs took me about 5 minutes each, it's really easy to solo. Really neat tabard =) good luck with the farming!

I've been running pairs of alts for the RAF deal, and Scarlet Monastery is a favorite place with four instances right next to one another. (I can fill up bags, hearth one alt with all the junk, mail it to the right toon, and then summon them back with the other alt.)

I did this on a 71 frost DK. So here's how I did it with two alts tagging along behind. At Herod, I sent them down to party with him-- they stood against the wall, he didn't aggro. I jump down, kill Herod, and then run to the top of the stairs. When I see the trainees, I throw down Death & Decay, which kills the mobs with one tick (so pretty much instantly). Then I loot!

The tabard dropped so I gave it to my DK, who had seen it a few times already but had surrendered them to my lowbie RAF alts.

When I realized they gave 17 rep each to my RAF alts, I decided to run Armory just one more time. For the rep! Very next run, I looted two in a row (so both of my alts get one)!

Sadly this tabard doesn't do anything, but it probably counts for the "equip X amount of unique tabards" achievement, and it looks pretty neat. Just don't wear it on an RP server, haha.

Apparently you can only ever own one of these? I already have one, sitting in my bank, and a trainee dropped one while I was gathering silk. I tried to pick it up thinking I could send it over to one of my lowbies, or try to sell it, since it now says "Binds when equipped" (unless I misred?) - but it gave me a message "You can't carry any more of this item"

After 7-9 unsucessful runs I teamed up with an 85 and it dropped today. I don't know if it might be a game mechanic but if you're like me and can't seem to get it to drop, try doing it with a guildy/party. I think when you are in a group, it may do something to the loot table to make the odds increase due to there being more pp. (just a theory though, so it may not work like that)

So, I finally nabbed this after about 30 runs. I logged my character out at the entrance so I could do a quick 5 runs (before getting locked out) each time I logged on to play. After 6 days off and on the last few weeks, I was concerned that I would never get this but lo and behold, it finally dropped for me.

Nothing special here, just ran from the entrance to the end trying to aggro as much as possible, then AoE-ing everything down at Herod. Easy run at 85 with mostly LFR gear (a few ilvl 397 pcs.) and kept my pet on passive the whole time so he wouldn't kill something (no loot if he did). Lots of cloth, plenty of greens and blues to DE or sell on the AH for transmog sets. Pretty easy grind all in all.

This item is removed in patch 5.0.4, Aug 29th 2012. Me and my girlfriend went to farm one each with only 1 hour left til server shutdown. Drop rate is not as horrible as you would think. Took us 4 runs to get one each.

I'm fairly certain he called two Trainees today (his Call for Help cd). He called 2 Defenders, but then two Trainees, who appeared nearly naked--but then he died shortly after so they despawned. Try waiting around while he calls for help, and see if some turn up.

Confirmed. Went in today to get it on my pally tank and, having not been in since the revamp, found Herod was indeed replaced by Armsmaster Harlan. And since killing Harlan does not also spawn the trainees the tabard is no longer available. Those who already had it count yourselves lucky.

P.S. watch out when running the Armory/Halls half of the Scarlet Monastery. In the second main room, there are a group of scarlet defenders in a phalanx blocking the next hallway. I took my pally tank in there all cocky and thought "please...pff haha" and got one-shotted. Only on my second try did i realize that the hounds lining the room were intended to break the blockade and not me. They are lvl 30 elites but they are more than what they seem. Good luck :)

I *JUST* saw this on a level 90 Pandaren Monk. I honestly didn't catch his name before he disappeared, but I was under the impression that Monks - created in MoP - shouldn't be able to get this tabard? On Kazzak-EU.

Figured it out. Apparently there was a bug during the Halloween event that allowed you to get through to the old bosses and kill them. (With the spawning iniates.)

The developers have informed us the Tabard of the Scarlet Crusade will be added back as a rare drop to the Scarlet dungeons in a future patch.

And 5.3 was the patch. It is now available in game once again.

This item is now available once again. It dropped from trash for me today on heroic Scarlet Halls.

In the loot roll interface it looks a lot like a random uncommon cloak, except it is BoP and produces a "this will bind to you" warning when you try to need or greed it.

I just got this as a drop off the second boss of SM, it is in fact in the game. That said, I can't be sure if that was off the boss himself or the mobs that spawn mid-fight, but I can confirm this is in the game at the time of 5.3.

Back when I thought my pally would be a special snowflake for having this tabard saved in the bank, I made a Scarlet Crusade transmog set using these items to go with the tabard:

After 23 Runs this Dropped for my Level 50 Paladin (Normal Mode of Course) From what I can Tell This has a 0.3% - 0.5% Drop Rate, This Drops off the BOSS, This Does not Drop off the Adds
So with this you can rule out Several things
#1: The Belief that it drops off of the Adds
#2: That it only Drops off of Heroic Mode
#3: That this is a 100% Drop Chance

*Edit* I forgot to Mention the Boss's Name. The Boss that drops the Tabard is Called Armsmaster Harlan and he is in Scarlet Halls

As of patch 5.3 I ran Harlan a mere three times on Normal until he dropped it. Certainly not off of the Trainees, and also no longer a 1 in 1000 chance unless I got stupid-lucky.

For people farming this post- patch 5.3, don't expect to run this a couple of times and get a drop unless you are SERIOUSLY lucky. The drop chance is likely the same as rare mounts, which could be anywhere between 0.5% to 2%, and only drops from the 2nd boss of Scarlet Halls on normal mode, and from the boss and trash on heroic mode. I ran this boss 92 times on normal mode before a drop.

Don't forget to wear a reputation tabard on your way around.

I got mine on two characters fairly quickly (between 5 and 15 runs).
Now that I'm trying to get it on a third character, I see that it's not so easy to get it after all.
I'm at my 54th run with the third character... I'd say that I'm starting to feel the burn.

Not sure why Wowhead claims this only drops in Normal mode. I just queued for a random MoP heroic and had it drop. (I won the roll, yay!) Everyone in the group was able to roll need, greed, or disenchant on it. I'm assuming since this is a unique item that everyone was able to roll because no one already possessed one.

I can confirm it still drops as of 5.4.8.18414 on 8/13/2014.

It took 22 attempts at killing Harlan for the tabard to drop (with 2 instance lockouts). I did not loot any other mobs as I was running normal mode and it does not drop off of trash in normal.

I have a feeling I got pretty lucky with it only taking 22 attempts.

This tabard is 'dirty' by default, which makes a perfect tabard for any undead character (I keep wearing it on my undead mage).
Also, an undead character wearing this tabard and having a 'crusader' title - embodied irony.

Finally got this on my survi hunter(7.0). Harpoon forward to any enemy(save it for moving), have posthaste on ofcourse. When the "archery" bit comes, use caltrops and launch it to kill the boss/minions and use pet to kill any remainng. Kills 1-2 seconds off the event.

After that, caltrops/aoe the guard at the door after oneshotting houndm,aster. Again, just a tiny time-ease. Then run, harpoon forward and drop a caltrop at the Armsmaster door(to kill aggrofolks who are following. Jump into pit and throw to kill armsmaster.

Aspect of the cheetah out(with harpoon to any possible point) and you're done.

Looting optional, but the whole run takes 2mins with looting.

So I just got mine after 27 attempts. I think it is worth noting you can skip the archers event by running fast enough to kill Lindon before he starts bumping you around. It works like a charm with Divine Steed & Judgement as Retribution Paladin but a friend did it as druid by outranging mobs as moonkin. I hope this helps, happy farming!

Figured I'd drop information here for 7.0.3 forward for those that stumble here hoping to get the tabard for transmog.

You should from this point onward try and farm it for wardrobe on a mail (Hunter, Shaman) or plate user (Death Knight, Warrior, Paladin).

From 7.0.3 forward, a new Quartermaster has been introduced to the Darkmoon Faire island located near the pony horse in the DMF stables.

If a player wearing this tabard talk to her, she will allow you to buy one (or two) of three things from her:
!NOTE: She will not allow you to buy anything if you have transmogged a tabard to the scarlet tabard. It needs to be the physical tabard.

To get the most value out of your tabard from 7.0.3 and continuing, you should therefore only obtain the tabard on a plate or mail using class. It will still get added to the wardrobe and become usable by any other of your characters.

On EU darkmoon faire started today, this week (2016/08/07 - 2016/08/13) would be a good timing to farm up your first (or possibly multiple) tabards!

Also do not be discouraged by the drop rates shown by Wowhead. I do not know how truly reliable the info is. As it took my shaman roughly 14 runs for his tabard, and my paladin only 3. I might have been exceptionally lucky, but don't give up! For the scarlet crusade!

Sad thing is I had this tabard but vendored it when the new transmog system came in... I know I had it because I have the appearance in my transmog tab and I remember getting it. Problem is i'm not 100% sure which character had it. I've looked on the item restore thing on all my characters and can't find it. Dropped on my 95th run. Runs took an average of 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

Prot Paladins, or paladins in general can use immunities to avoid the knockbacks or take one knockback via Divine Steed and use judgement or avengers shield to kill the main archer NPC who has the ability to knockback. However, both Divine Shield and Blessing of Protection can negate the knockback, and either one should be available for each encounter.
Blinding Light can be used to quickly kill some of the shield bearers after the first boss, meleeing the middle one and waiting for the boss's event with the dogs to kill him, to save a few seconds.
Done as a level 64 Protection Paladin in normal mode with Cavalier and Blinding Light talents.

If like me you deleted this tabard and can't find it on the item restore thing then just make a ticket and explain the situation. Also mention that you must have had the tabard (even if they can't find it in your inventory logs) as you have the appearance. If the first GM refuses to restore it then make another ticket and try again. I got the tabard restored after my second ticket.

Can confirm that this drops on normal. I know im gonna get downvoted for this, but i got it on the first try.. I was just after the tome of teleport too, decided to 1 shot Harlan to try my luck and there it was. Came here to see if they increased the drop rate.

Keep this tabard once you get the appearance - as wearing* it during Darkmoon Faire (first full Sun-Sat week of a month) will allow you to talk to the Интендант Алого ордена and buy, depending on class, the following (only visible if you're eligible for purchase):

Got mine today, 8th February 2017. Run around 50-ish dungeons over the span of two days. Normal mode, of course. Average run time on a fury warrior was like 2-3 minutes (Heroic Leap and 2xCharge help quite a bit).

Don't get discouraged by the fact that it doesn't show up on in-game loot table, and, most importantly, do not vendor it! It's used for unlocking a special vendor for Plate and Mail users in Darkmoon Faire, and besides that it can always have some secret interactions in the future!

Ok, so if rng works in your favor, should be fast. For me, it took about the same as everyone else reporting between 250 and 275 runs. I finally got it to drop on heroic version, but expect a decent grind. Took about 2 weeks of off and on grinding. BUT, it still drops.

Just got it today after.. I don't know.. a lot of runs. Feels like a million but was probably closer to 60 or 70.
What helps is to build yourself a nice speed set, check auction house for cheap greens with speed on it. Update your spec too before farming. Also if you wear mail Перчатки ловчего was a godsend.

Good news fellow players!
Now in 7.3.5 the tabard seems to drop way more often, I completed two runs on two different characters (while leveling) and the tabard dropped immediately. It also dropped for me and another player at the same time.

Update: I'm trying to obtain the tabard with a fourth character, 50 runs so far, no tabard seen at the moment. Anyway, I've seen it dropping to other group members for half (more or less) of those runs. Guess I've been really, but really lucky with the first 3 chars.

I just got it to drop after about 25 runs on Normal (Patch 7.3.5). I did 10 yesterday evening until my hourly lockout to start, went to bed, woke up this morning and did one on Heroic, and then 4 more runs on Normal and on the 4th Normal run it just dropped. I have been trying to farm this for years but I decided last night that I am going to commit and farm it until I get it and I guess RNG was on my side:

Just a small tip to anyone farming this, or farming dungeons in general, if you delete your Hearthstone, then use the Character Stuck button under the Help Section, it teleports you to the dungeon entrance.

(Also to those that did the Diablo Anniversary event, and got the Tome of Town portal, the Tome will still hearth you to your hearth location even after deleting your hearthstone.)

As of today July 19th, with the implementation of the legacy loot mode, I ran Scarlet Halls once and looted the Tabard off of Armsmaster Harlan. I would assume increased drop rate on this item. Farm while you can.

I've done countless runs in this dungeon on multiple characters and Harlan just will not drop the damn tabard. RNGesus is not with me...

Edit: It finally dropped after what must have been more than the hundredth time! To avoid walking back every time you kill Harlan you can destroy your Hearthstone and use the Character Stuck section in the Help menu to go back to the Graveyard which takes you to the start of the Dungeon.

I was able to get the item to drop during patch 8.1 from the Scarlet Halls on a Night Elf Warrior.

It is certainly a very rare drop, but it is still available, I can confirm.

Some people keep track of exactly how many times they run it, I did not do that. But if I had to give a realistic estimate of how many times I ran the dungeon before it dropped, I would say inbetween 90-120 runs.

That being said, since I had run it so many times WITHOUT it dropping, I had a guildy test it out to see if it would drop for them, and -NO EXAGGERATION- it dropped for them on the FIRST run. *clenches fist*

In conclusion: Keep farming people! It still will drop!

It drops in patch 8.2 if you were curious. Just got it on August 18th, 2019. It took me around 160 tries, I almost thought it didn't exist despite the comments on Wowhead saying it still drops. Don't worry though, it still drops.. even if it takes a bit of luck and time.

I got lucky and can confirm the drop on Armsmaster Harlan. Took me one try on Heroic and one try on Normal to get it :)

Between yesterday and today, I've run 42 times, and no tabard. Blizzard's instance lock is the reason why I haven't already done hundreds, of course, as I can get to Harlan in under 3 minutes. I'll be running every couple of hours today, 10 at a time, and see how long it takes me to either get it, or convince myself it isn't real.

Update #1: Run 103 complete. No tabard.

probabaly sounds dumb but i did this probabaly 30 times then i killed the cannon guys before you run up the stairs and i ended up getting the tabard.

Can confirm this still drops, despite years of farming this place and thinking otherwise. Finally got it after several days worth of grinding across multiple toons while in queue for Timewalking.

Wanted to add let everybody know that this tabard still drops from Armsmaster Harlan in the Shadowlands pre-patch (9.0.1).
It took me 49 tries yesterday to acquire it.

Finally got this tabard in late 2020. Followed instructions here to shortcut thru the archers with my prot pally using Divine Steed and Judgement when stepping onto the grass of the training grounds.

Took less than 20 attempts at boss to get the tabard.

Confirmed to drop in Shadowlands Patch 9.0.2, I just looted the Tabard of the Scarlet Crusade from Armsmaster Harlan in Normal Scarlet Halls 8th of February 2021 after around 120 runs.

Still dropping in 9.1.5. It took me a good 100 or so runs but I was deadset on only doing it on my Death Knight for the irony.

My method for speeding through runs as fast as possible.

1. Before entering the instance create a custom group with a gibbering name.
2. Use Death's Advance as soon as you enter the courtyard with the archers to ignore their knockbacks. Cast Death and Decay on them and let the trash following you walk into it. Make sure to loot them for BOEs!
3. Right click your portrait and leave party. This will start a 1 minute countdown before you're removed from the instance. That's all the time you need.
4. Tag the first boss and wait for the guards blocking the door to die. Don't loot the boss, it'll go to your mail and save bag space.
5. Death's Advance will be off cooldown when the guards die, sprint over towards Harlan and drop Death and Decay on the floor just before dropping down to his area.
6. Loot Harlan with 1-2 seconds left on the countdown, this will loot the bodies of the trash up above you for any BOEs.
7. You'll now be removed from the instance automatically and spawn at the entrance of the dungeon. Rinse and repeat.

i been trying since yesterday cause i want the ensemble. i'm 121 kills in on the boss and still no drop x-x lots of boe rares and a couple epics though so i guess not all bad. should at least get a good bit of gold out of this. i've made at least 1200g just from selling the bop blues and trash lol.

For those wondering if the tabard still drops in Dragonflight, it does. Dropped after 67 normal runs from Armsmaster Harlan, as shown by the drop statistics. Rare but still obtainable as of 10.0.5.

One of the best tabards in the game - still today.

The red is crimson instead of scarlet, ironically.
Crimson is the nicest shade of red imo so no complaints from me.
