Starts and ends at 35,31.
The tower is at 47,25.
In the building there are: 2 Sentries atop, 4 Sentries on the stairwell, 3 Sentries on the main floor, 2 Sentries stationary outside, 2 Sentries patrolling outside. All levels ranged 35-36.
The girl you rescue is at the bottom, the crates are at the very top.
You do NOT have to escort the girl, just save her from the place.

this quest now has item rewards, too. A caster dagger (+int and spirit), leather bracers or mail chest piece (pally or starter shaman gear)-+12strength and +7 int.

This quest was pretty hard for me as a 37 Frost Mage. The guards respawned faster than I could clear. Eventually I gave up trying to clear up to the top and ran to the top, died up there, resurrected, polymorphed one of the two guys, chugged a health potion, then went to town on the other. Grabbed the cargo and slowfalled off the tower. It was really a lot harder than it should've been. By the way, there is a third guard that patrols up to the top, so if you're going to use my method wait for him to come to the top and then head back down to resurrect.

Once I talked to the NPC and got that objective ticked off the quest, I just took the deaths as I ran toward the top of the tower (once I found out that that was indeed where the crates were). Died, but was able to resurrect at the top. Went to an edge of the tower farthest from the crates, resurrected, used Frost Nova on the guards, grabbed the goods, and then jumped off. Given the compensation for the quest completion, a 5s34c repair bill was moot.

There are two named NPCs, one outside the tower and one just up the steps on the inside, who respawn insanely fast. The guy standing guard outside would respawn so quickly that I would often pull him as he respawned while I was drinking after killing the two sentries on either side of the door, which I would do immediately after killing him. To complicate things further, Captain Darill, the NPC just up the stairs on the inside, seems to be bugged and would not stop chasing me no matter how far away or long I ran for. So running out, dropping aggro, and trying again can be difficult.

However, I did manage to do it as a 37 mage, without dying and rezzing at the top. It took me a few tries, but it's do-able. Good, quick experience kills while trying I guess, also.

You should be somewhat wary on PvP servers as there's at least one quest Ally players out of Theramore come to this tower for. When you're bogged down fighting 3 Theramore guards the last thing you want to see is an ally show up, probably angry that you killed his quest objective/giver. While I was pulling and killing guards out of sight, I noticed at least 3 allies show up. So, you know, just be aware that there's a good chance they could show up.

Quest wise, this was cake as a 40 enhancement shaman. Lower levels might want to bring a friend to handle the multiple guards, though.

EDIT: If you pull right, you never have to fight more than two guards at a time. There's some guards who patrol, however, so it's not unlikely that you could find yourself fighting 3.

I was able to complete the quest as a 35 Shadow Priest, by pulling as little as possible each time. The outside named NPC Sergeant Lukas (http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=23723#comments), re-spawned and had to be killed 3 times, but is not a hard kill. The guards next to the girl are a bit harder, but all classes at this level should be able to handle multiple pulls, just eat/drink after each if you are not sure. A slow walk up to the top made it so I only had one guard at a time and the other named npc did not re-spawn like the first (who I know gives quests). I then levitated off the top after getting cargo.

Tried this as a 35 Druid, and gave up on trying to get the crate. I tried pulling and always wound up with 3 or more no matter how carefully I set it up. I tried stealthing and was detected by the guy halfway up the stairs, then dogpiled. And don't even think about tanking in bear form, at least not solo; the mobs respawn so quickly that the three you're fighting won't drop before guards you just killed get back in business.

simple stelath to top pounce garurd ripped him 2x went moon kin and proceeded to kill those 2 and the patroller go the stuff stealthed back down talked to her ans sprinted the hell out

This quest is tailor made for prot paladins. The mobs are close together, and they have no special abilities whatsoever. No stun, no snare, no casters of any kind, nothing. Just straight up melee mobs. Gather the suckers up and AoE them down with no worries. I only wish more quests were like this for my paladin.

I did these quests as a lvl 39 lock with my VW. Slow and steady as she goes, drink/eat in between and don't stop to loot.

I set the VW on the sentries around the girl, ran over to her "talked" and bolted out.

For the crates I used the advice of Delecti and Goldving above. Thnx!

Got killed at the top but once I res'd at farthest point from crates summonsed VW and killed remaining guard. Drank/ate and started back down. One at a time then at the end sacrificed my VW and did the bolt out the door and over the bridge.

Did it as a 37 Frost Mage. Nearly impossible. You have to die on purpose. Kill what you can outside and then throw on your mana shield. Run up to the top of the tower and die. Go back and respawn on opposite side of crates. Lure the two guards to you and trap them with Frost nova. If it holds for all 8 seconds then you have time to get the crate. Jump off the side of the tower on to the other side of the wall and die again. Go back and respawn. Kill what you can from outside again and then thrown on mana shield run in and talk to girl and then run out.

Solo'd as a 36 Frost Mage.

1. Run to top of tower and die (as already stated.)
2. Rez and get boxes.
3.Slowfall down.
4.Mana sheild run in pull all mobs in tower.
5.Frostnova.
6.Blink away.
7.Blizzard.

Cake. (assuming variables go as mine did and nobody resists frostnova.)

This quest is difficult without a group, it really requires a two man team and the quest notes should advise for a group. The guards rez fast even if you don't loot the bodies.

As a 38 Lock, I took out the guards in the front of the tower. Then sacrificed my void in the tower, spoke to the girl then ran like the wind to the top. I was killed by all the pulls.

Resurrected at the top away from the two guards, put my void on them and looted the boxes, then hearthed back to the inn.

Just managed this quest with my mage lvl 34 - fire specced. All green items.
It worked for me to approach the tower from the side and pull the guards infront of the tower one by one. Beware of the one's who is walking around the tower. Once the coast in front of the tower is free, try to pull one of the guards inside the tower out and finish him off.
When the coast is clear, i ran inside the tower, only one guard left and was lucky not to aggro the Captain just up the stairs. Talked to the prisoner.
The rest is just carefull pulling and never back away when you are fighting because they respawn really fast as noted before.
Only the top floor was really difficult because the two guards at the top are really close together, but a polymorph is a mage best friend :D
Grap the box at the top and as a mage, i'm glad to have "slow fall" to get away with.
But doable in my oppinion, just make sure you pull one at the time.

Got it done with lvl 33 combat rogue on my first attempt, run up the stairs as mobs chase you, pop evasion for extra dodge, then vanish on the roof, kill 2 mobs on the roof get the box then work your way down the stairs which is much easier since you'll be fighting 1-2 at the time, closer to the base had to dispatch 3 at the time, but with blade furry not too difficult, kill whoever is left, talk to a girl and off you go to claim the reward :)

Soloed as a level 36 Demonology warlock.

Be careful of the Lieutenant at the front of the tower since he respawns quickest. None of the guards respawned on me until after I got in the tower. I also did a four pull which, for most classes, is not a good idea at this level. Luckily my voidwalker was taking most of this hits.

To get get out of the tower, I just made a break for it and hoped not to get dazed a million times. The voidwalker's sacrifice ability really helped here. BUT! Be careful of the captain! He aggroed on me and DID NOT stop following me. I pulled him all the way back to Brackenwall village and had to kill him there. Glitch? I think so. Oh, and the guards won't help kill him either.

Soloed as lvl35 frost mage. Managed to kill the guards faster than they respawned to the top of tower, but when I looked down at least the bottom floor was filled again.
Just gotta kill mobs at the bottom 2 or 3 at the same time to make it faster and on your way up, eat/drink at the platform you last killed a mob. At the top frost nova and take the item. Kill if you feel like it.

Soloed as a 34 Belf Hunter with a Hyena as my pet. Really easy to do. As for the respawn rate: The onlt respawn I had to deal with was the Sergeant at the entrance of the tower. Everything went down and stayed down really easily.

What is Captain Darill's role in this? Is he for a later quest? Also, at first, i thought it was a escort, so I followed the girl, but she stopped in front of the bridge for an eternity while I held off wave after wave of the guards XD
Then she vanished and dropped out of the sky in front of the large tree stump thing, then teleported back into the tower. odd.

I'll never forget doing this quest =)
I was a rogue, lvl 34. I came to the tower,pulled out two sentinels and killed them. Then in stealth I came a bit closer to the tower and noticed, that there is a hunter-elf. Have no idea what level he was, I saw just a skull instead of his level. He was going out of the tower, so I went out of his way. He did not notice me, but he noticed, that the two guards are killed. He turned back, went a bit closer to the tower, then just left.
"That was close" I thought. I looked inside of the tower. To be honest, I've never been in this tower before, so I had no idea what mobs are inside. I've noticed captain Darill and a man on a horse near Ithania. He was lvl 39. I thought, that I should try getting upstairs first to take the crates. I used Distract on the horseman and passed into the tower. But I was really surprised, when the horseman started moving. Dammit, that was a human warlock =D. He did not notice me, but he understood that there is a rogue somewhere. I think he knew about this quest for horde, because he went upstairs. In stealth I followed him, did not touch the captain.
When I came to the top of the tower I saw, that the warlock is staying facing me. And he had summoned a voidwalker. I had nothing to do but to go down. I killed the captain, talked to Ithania and now I had to collect the crates somehow. Well, I had no chances to pass through the warlock or to kill him, so I just logged out for sometime, had some tea and logged in again. I guess, warlock was bored of staying there and left while I was offline. So, I just collected the crates and left the tower as a winner =)

I'm on a PvE server so there's no risk of being attacked by an Alliance player while doing this quest. However, my presence must have confused one poor guy...

I figured if I CCed as many things as I could and used my Water Elemental intelligently while taking my time, this quest would go relatively okay. So I make my way inside and notice a Night Elf Druid sitting up above Ithania. I ignore him - it's not like he can do anything to me - and talk to her to set her free. She begins running out like planned. The guards start shouting - part of the quest, totally normal - and this Druid takes off after her in Cat form. O.o

Oh well, I keep on going. I get like one guy down when the Druid comes back in flagged for PvP. He proceeds to follow me the entiiiiire way up the tower flagged and he even puts on Thorns to prepare for battle! After I finished, he followed me back down the tower, too. I don't think he was starting trouble, I think he thought I was killing allies of his and was probably confused about why I wasn't flagged for PvP. xD

It was pretty amusing and it reminded me of what it was like to be a confused newbie once. ^.^

Thank you very much Jillu, wish I had seen your posting before doing this quest, but i did escort the girl. Then could not remember where the crates were found. All the NPC's I killed came back real fast, so i did the quest again , but spoke to the girl who this time warned me of the other guards up stairs in the tower where the crates were located. I completed this quest with my level 40 Warlock-Demonic with Felguard tanking. Level up!

Just did this as a 39 Feral Druid that I hadn't logged on for nearly a year. Prowled in, talked to the girl, then tried to dash away, but was killed by the guards. After I rezzed, I prowled to the top of the tower, killed the guard there, grabbed the cargo, tried to sneak down past the guards, was spotted, and died a second time. Doing this quest was really making me miss my Rogue cuz being able to sap these guards would've been a nice treat! Finally got the quest done, but got to spend some money on repairs for my two deaths. ;-(

This was really hard for a lvl 34 Rouge, i could not sneak past the guards, i kept rezing outside the tower. finally two other horde arrived and I tried to invite them to a group but they ignored me so i just ran behind them and grabbed the quest when we got to the top. Good Luck !

Soloed as a 35 rogue on 3.3.5 Lich King. Confirming never having to fight more than two at a time.... whilst fighting the level 39 commander, I may have imagined it... an extra soldier spawned. To be sure, I repeated the action again later. Watch out for this extra spawn and have something in reserve. I did not die on this quest...

Watch out with this quest. Since 7.3.5, mobs have become harder to kill (more HP) so if you have a low-armor class (cloth or leather) you'll have to take care not pulling too many guards. Don't worry about PvP, you won't be flagged if you're on a PvE realm (if you're on a PvP realm, bring some friends because CRZ bring a lot of Alliance players to the tower). The quest is far from impossible, but it's wise to prepare a bit for this quest - you might want to bring a health potion and what not. Just make sure you're not flagged for PvP or anything, to avoid unnecessary problems.

FYI - rescue Ithania first. When I picked up the cargo before rescuing her, the quest bugged. Abandoning and reaccepting worked. :)

You can do this quest either way round cargo first then girl or girl then cargo.

She does not require escorting and when you speak to her she tells you the cargo is at the top. There are a few mobs in the and around the tower I was a WW Monk with loom gear so it wasn't very hard at all to kill them.

The leather wrist reward for me were a little upgrade though if running dungeons and have better I suppose it makes for good vendor material.

Balandar Brightstar in Brackenwall Village wants you to reclaim the Dawn Runner Cargo and rescue his first mate Ithania from forces of Theramore at North Point Tower.

Description

The ogres here are useful for little more than crude jokes, sour ale, and bouts of headbutting. When my ship, the Dawn Runner, ran aground, those curs from Theramore made off with my cargo and last surviving crewman. I made my way here searching for help, but those good-for-nothing ogres stared blankly at me when I told them my story.

I could use the help of a reliable <race> in recovering what remains of my cargo and freeing Ithania from North Point Tower, to the northeast, where they're being held.
