The "Tier ?" (aka Tier 8) fight involves four (4) mechanics:

Nexus Daggers Nexus Daggers - Dodge in between the lines
Nether Rift Nether Rift - Place the circle on you in a triangle pattern as each rift pulls the player, this will cause you to stay in between the rifts
Dark Massacre Dark Massacre - Directly face the Nether Phantoms in the order they appear. A red line points from the phantom to your character, helping identify the direction to face.
Invoke the Shadows Invoke the Shadows - Ky'veza will summon phantoms around the center area. Look for the empty spot and follow the phantom that appears in the empty spot. Click on it before the cast completes.

Note: failing any of the mechanics causes an overwhelming amount of damage (and will most likely one-shot any character) and traveling to the far edges of the arena results in damage from The Shadows.

These mechanics repeat, however, I believe that Invoke the Shadows only occurs when Ky'veza gets to specific health percentages.

The "Tier ?" (aka Tier 11) fight involves the same four (4) mechanics, however, there are modifications.

Nexus Daggers - The daggers appear more quickly
Nether Rift - The room is split into six (6) sections around the center, with three (3) that are dangerous (blue) and three (3) that are safe and where the circle should be placed
Dark Massacre - More phantoms appear in faster succession
Invoke the Shadows - I didn't make it to this phase, but I believe that they move more quickly when shifting around

This is like the previous "Delve Boss" quests - you pick it up on day one of the season and then spend the next couple of months or years (hee hee) getting up to the level where you can finally face it - I have all three of these now mouldering in the bottom of my quest log because I really do not love delves.

How the hell do I get into the Voidrazor Sanctuary? I have cleared Level 10 delves, at 686, and cannot walk through the curtain - I can see the hallway before the entrance change in the minimap, but can't walk forward. Even more confusing, I have the toy in my inventory that is the reward, but when I run the script given above, the result is false. And I cannot find any mention of this problem anywhere (and no, Google, I do NOT want the thousandth "Kyy'veza Guide" I want to know how to f-ing walk inside!

finished this as a ilvl 688 havoc DH, with this been a single target fight and having half decent self sustain i decided to change brann to dps instead of healer.

it helped so much with visibilty because the uldum relic would always spawn at the worst times when he was healing and block my vision from mechanics, getting me one shot about a dozen times, swapped him to dps, had enough self sustain to never drop below 80% hp and downed it in one shot.

so yea, if you can survive without healer brann i recommend swapping him to dps

Lol this quest is un-doable FOR ME since it keeps bugging. When she's switching between her clones in the circle pattern, it ends up not a circule and they just charge everywhere.

I guess I'll wait a little bit for them to fix their quests.

I love how DPS Brann consistently screws up the Nether Rift mechanic because he's busy 'GOING ALL OUT" on his griffin. Healing Brann creates too much crap on the screen to discern mechanics, and tank Brann is out of the question because of positioning (I am melee dps). This is extremely annoying because I feel I can clear Tier ? but Brann keeps screwing up the Nether Rifts.

Yeah everything in this boss is one shot, I'm just skipping this boss all together. This boss leaves little to no room for error, which is is insane for the the lower difficulty version of it. At least keep the one shots to ? difficulty.

I was confused and thought this would appear at the end of my Tier 8 delve once I completed it. This did not happen.

Once you get to ilevel 680ish, go to 39.42 50.44 in Tazavesh. Enter through the curtain with the rope across it. That, apparently, is to keep out the riffraff, not you.

This boss is completely unfair unless you have very fast reflexes and the shadows are completely unforgiving. One little tap and you're dead.

It's all mechanics tho since the boss hits like a wet noodle.

Something happened to me that shocked the heck out of me, I encountered Ky'veza in another delve. There is apparently a possibility of her popping up in Archival Assault at Tier 8 or higher. Now, I am not sure if I did something that triggered her entrance, but be warned, it can happen, and yes, I died, most non-heinously.

686 LFR BM hunter who is bad at video games here.

I completed this fight on ? after an hour of dying hilariously. Some tips that helped me:

1. Read Sopor30's comment, it is a great write up. Some of their tips I will reiterate below too.
2. BM Hunters:
Set Brann to Healer
Turn off growl
Face tank the boss as much as possible. It makes Nexus Daggers much easier to deal with.
Occasionally the pet may need heals from you too.
3. ZOOM OUT, it makes Dark Massacre less painful.
4. For Nether Rift, drop your circle to form a triangle with the other two pools. I didn't die again to Rift once I started doing that.

Did it as a Frost Mage, BRAN lvl 90 as DPS with HATARAN + BATTERED AEGIS.

Definitely a challenge lol.. took me about 10 attempts as a Frost Mage using my raid build).
Here's what worked for me

Setup

Brann: Level 90 Damage build, with Hatarang + Battered Aegis Curios.

Weakaura: Grab this one from Wago to stay on top of mechanics.

Fight Strategy
Brann as DPS: Trust me, it’s worth it.
Don’t blow cooldowns + lust at the start: You’ll just waste some asskicking time dodging laser light shows right at the start.

Save cooldowns + lust for AFTER Dark Massacre. (That’s right after you survive the third copy attack.)

Dark Massacre Phase

When she casts Dark Massacre, stop everything. Your only job is spotting the blue flashes.
Each flash = one Ky’veza copy spawning. About 2–2.5 seconds after spawning each copy fires at you.
You must face these copies in the order they spawned, or it’s instant gonzo.

Cheese option: bubble/ice block etc.. you’ll need to do it 3–5 times depending on your DPS.

Invoke the Shadows

When she forms the big circle, move to the middle.
Left-click drag your camera 90° overhead.

Watch for the first Ky’veza copy to move—that’s the real one.
Once they are done scrambling and you've followed the first copy to move, you've got 3 seconds to right click it or you go kapoot.

It's a straight up messy fight, but once you get the rhythm it’s actually kind of fun (LOLLL NOT). Think “Simon Says,” except Simon is a sadistic void elf.

In my opinion the Dark Massacre is the hardest mechanic, and then the Nexus Daggers. The Nether Rift and Invoke the Shadows are mostly trivial, so long as you're paying attention.

Also, I kept Bran as a healer, as 1) I needed him to keep me alive and 2) it didn't really seem to make any difference for me regarding the mechanics, contrary to what others have said in comments.

Hug the middle of the room as much as possible for every mechanic.
During Nether Rift, wait for Bran to move to drop his rift before you move to drop your rift. The reason for this is because if you both move in the same direction then you're going to have to stop and adjust your path, which results in a critical second of time being wasted as you're trying to get the best placement possible for the rifts.
During Nether Rift, I observed a bug two times in a row where Bran would move to drop his rift, but it would never show up on the ground. However, even though it wasn't visible, I'm fairly certain that his portal was still part of the mechanic.
Dark Massacre is easier if you watch for when the phantoms first phase in, because for a brief second there is a bright blue flash to indicate where they are. All three of the phantoms will do this when they phase in, one after the other.
During Dark Massacre, make sure that your camera is zoomed out enough that you can observe any phantoms that phase in behind you. If you're like me, then in the heat of battle it's really easy to accidentally roll that mouse wheel just a tidge or two, and before you know it you're zoomed in a little and not seeing as much behind you.
During Dark Massacre, it is possible for the phantoms to phase in nearly on top of each other, which really throws you off when you're trying to find where they're all at. This one got me a few times, but what seemed to help the most was just getting used to watching for the blue flashes of where they're phasing in at.
Nexus Daggers ended up getting me just about as many times as Dark Massacre before I finally figured out that the least path of resistance is the best with regards to where you move. What do I mean by that? Move quickly to where there is the most open area between daggers. If you restrict yourself to too small of an area between the daggers then you're going to end up with no room to maneuver as the next waves of daggers come.
During Invoke the Shadows, position yourself in the middle of the circle right at the very start of it, and then wait until the real Ky'veza talks to show where she is. Before the shadows start swapping places, immediately position the real Ky'veza so that she is directly in front of your character. I never found this mechanic hard, but doing this every time seemed to make it simple to follow where she goes.
The mechanics are guaranteed to occur in the same order every single time, so memorize the order and you'll never be surprised by what is coming next.
It might just be my imagination, but there seems to be just a bit more time after Invoke the Shadows before the rotation starts again with Nexus Daggers. I got used to taking advantage of what felt like a couple of extra seconds during this time to DPS as hard as I could before the daggers started again.

I dont know if any protection paladin already made a guide of this, but here's mine.

First of all, turn off anti-aliasing, but at this point everyone trying to kill her must know it. I also turned on the "Low Latency Mode" coz I suffer with a 0.5 second-ish delay.

I made it as a 712 Lightsmith Protection Paladin, 710 Ara-Kara Sacbrood and 707 Tome of Light's Devotion as my trinkets. I used Flask of Alchemical Chaos as flask and Hearty Beledar's Bounty as food, beside Thunderous Drums and Tempered Potion. I personally don't like Tome of Light's Devotion for this fight, but I don't have another good trinket to replace it.

Here is my talents, basically it is the most usual lightsmith m+ build with just a few modifications, as follows:

Brann is at level 100, set as dps (because he alone done ~35% of her life as damage), he was equipped with Hatarang and Battered Aegis both 4/4.

I started most of tries with Holy Bulwark (so I had Sacred Weapon up to Avenging Wrath coz of Blessing of the Forge), pre potting Tempered Potion, followed by Thunderous Drums, Avenging Wrath, Hammer of Wrath and Divine Shield, so I can enjoy all 40s lust window focused on boss (but most of tries, instead of bubble here, I used Blessing of Freedom and avoided being hit).

So, for Nexus Daggers I used Blessing of Freedom right after the start of the fight and everytime after the Invoke the Shadows 2-3 seconds before she starts casting Nexus Daggers. And for the other 2 casts of each phase, I used 1 charge of Divine Steed also 2-3 seconds before she starts casting Nexus Daggers.

For Nether Rift, most of time movement speed buff from Blessing of Freedom was still active and helped to drop the pool in the right place, and when it starts to pull, since she casts it twice before the intermission, I used defensive in that order, Eye of Tyr for the 1st cast, and Holy Bulwark for the 2nd cast, each defensive right after dropping the pool. (despite of poor Brann positioning, and when that happened I had to use 1 charge of Divine Steed to avoid being pulled to a rift, making a mess for the next Nexus Daggers cast). I also had to use Lay on Hands or Word of Glory because she hits very hard at this part of the fight.

For Dark Massacre, most of time I just face direct to it, with anti-aliasing off and low-latency mode on, it was very easy, but a few times I did rotate defensives as Ardent Defender and Divine Shield. Note that Guardian of Ancient Kings and Blessing of Spellwarding most of time didn't work for me, at least here.

Finally, for Invoke the Shadows, if you're standing close to the center of the arena, you can easily see a blank spot in the formation while the shadows are being summoned, she'll always be in that blank spot, knowing that, you just need to follow her until the cast ends.

Rinse and repeat. Use Thunderous Drums and Tempered Potion whenever it is available, but the best time to use it is right after the end of each intermission when Avenging Wrath and Sacred Weapon should both be available again.

It took me 480 tries! But, in my defense, I just knew the "anti-alias/low-latency mode" cheat when I was around 300 tries, before that I kept dying on Dark Massacre coz I just can't memorize the order and the spot they appeared.

I didn't use any movement speed pot or enchantment, and I also tried it as Templar and/or with Brann setted as healer, but the damage output was too low to worth the time, however, Templar rotation is a lot easier. Oh, and I didn't try the one-button thing, since there's a huge dps loss, even compared to those tries when even doing the "multi button" rotation I stopped doing damage while running from Nexus Daggers or while facing Dark Massacre.

At last, when I kill it, I forgot to use lust and pot, and she got 5 stacks of Death Cloak.

I died 2 times. Both times were because her shadow clone "click the right one" ability was not intuitive. I assumed I'd have to... kill the right one? Then I thought I was supposed to interrupt (you can't interrupt the kill ability); but I finally realized there was a glowy hand mouse over her.

Don't know if they nerfed this, but never got hit by her other abilities. Very very fun fight. Love it. This is exactly what I want out of the game. Reflex challenges.

It's not as bad as it seems at first.

The Rift thing - pretty easy. Just wait for Brann to place his circle, then place yourself to make a triangle, then stand in the triangle center and you're good.

Dark Massacre - do not stand in the room center. Before the mechanic starts, position yourself in the pizza slices of the room, back facing to the wall, then slowly back up as the adds appear. The will mostly appear in front of you, making this a bit easier. The darker background of the pizza slices also make the beams more visible. Do NOT stand in the center of the room, this is the worst place.

Invoke Shadows - you should have two, max three of these. Just make sure you are zoomed out fully and have the spawn that has the speech text in front of you before the shuffle starts, then hope for the best.

Took me maybe 45 minutes total and like 10-12 tries.

Oh and don't forget one important thing - pump out DPS all the time as hard as you can, to make it shorter. The only moment you can allow yourself to not DPS is the Dark Massacre mechanic when it's more important to make sure to stay alive.

You do understand that you have a great game, lots of things to do, so dying over and over again is neither fun nor good fun. One shot @#$%e is just that. You have done it again made the mechanics so intense as a mage I spent all my time avoiding and very little time casting.
No one minds things being difficult but this is utterly flipping stupid. Dead three times in less than a minute each time. Quest put where dumb quests belong. In the BIN

It took me an hour, but I finally did it. I gave up on tank spec and just went full damage, single button rotation (which i never use) which let me focus on mechanics and just mash one button. Now my eyes hurt...never again.

I tried my first time with ? because I had no idea what this is about and saw that ilvl recommend for ? was way below my ilvl.... got one shot, wondering if my 17M health is not enough, see elden ring ref, look up mechanic, try another 30 tries and went back to try ? and did it in 2 tries. What a boost of confidence, I thought I was so bad at this game that I couldn't complete a chain quest.

It is unbelievable how bad this fight is. It is just as bad as the Underpin fight.

I am so sick of Blizzard trying to be Temu Fromsoft and giving us this Dark Slop.

02.01.2026 - 692 iLvl - killed in 7 attempts. Once you have the 4 mechanics down its jsut sail through doing them and doign some minor dps tiill it dies.
But yeah 1 shot mechanics are boohoo. Should have been just an achievement or smth not a quest that is anoying to hold or see.

It took me roughly 9 days to beat Princess on ?, with spending a few hours each night grinding and learning the mechanics, here are some pro tips:

Toon: Blood Dk Deathbringer, 708 ILv
Gear: Mast/Crit crafted or raid gear for all gear but trinkets, tier, and weapon
Weapon: Skyreaver, Greataxe of the Keepers
Weapon Enchant: Rune of the Fallen Crusader
Tier: Head, shoulders, Chest, Gloves
Potion: Potion of Unwavering Chaos
Flask: Flask of Tempered Aggression
Weapon Oil: Algari Mana Oil
Feast: Feast of Midnight Masquerade
Gear, if you have the option:
Boots: Interloper Plated Sabatons
Trinkets: Cursed Stone Idol and Unyielding Nether Prism

Practice: beat her on ? To understand the baseline for the fight, I have skipped this on the prior delve bosses and I'll say it's an absolute must, you not only learn the baseline of what your doing, you get a bit more confidence you'll be able to beat it on ?

Knives: before she casts them at each phase run immediately away with your sprint, what I like to do is run through her so the knives start the opposite way of you, then zigzag across the room, the lines almost never get you boxed in, but sometimes they do. In the case they do, just pay attention and inch by inch walk, and whatever you do, do not jump, I got instantly disintegrated multiple times doing that xD

immediately run towards the center to get ready for rifts, once the knives phase is almost over, the knives will have missed you and she reengages.

Clones: the real Princess states: "which one is real" in red lettering? Stand in front of this one everytime and trace by mouse, super simple, if you've done barrels in legion, you know how to beat this phase

Rifts: save a sprint for this in case brann does brann things and messes up placement

Dark Massacre: position princess in front of the one coming at you for extra dps, do this each time and that damage stacks up huge, people say only focus on them but it's super easy once you know your rotation by heart

200 mil < : the first few you times you get her to 200 mil health you are probably going to have your heart racing, mine did and I messed up multiple times because of it. I would suggest cold water on your face, use breathing techniques, take a hot shower and then cold to finish, things like that to get back in the game.

Practice: go in knowing this is a hard ass fight, and that everytime you die, your chipping away at practicing to become exactly who you need to be to get your amazing mount.

Quick Practice Tip: I had a night where I listened to a podcast while practicing, it made it way harder, and I died over and over again because I was also digesting an Andy Frisella Q&A ROFL, but I did it for an hour with the podcast on to raise my base level, eventually I got her to half health.

After the podcast finished I did it again and it was much easier. When you push yourself to make it harder than necessary your base level will rise, and when you go back to normal you'll notice immediately your a bit more confident. I believe this was what gave me the boost to finally being confident about the fight, as I died 200+ times on her, she's absolutely brutal until you understand the mechanics, once you concretely know them, it's just a matter of time.

Last tip: if you start losing focus, or are struggling, just tell yourself mechanics, do the mechanics, that's what kept me on track when I fell off the rails. Cheers!

Unprepared priest 695 no consumeables, 0 m+ 0 raid in tww. Took me like 6-7-8 tries. The shadow asking "Which is real?" is always the good one to follow. Its not a dps race, following shadow was the hardest part.
