You complete the quest simply by entering the Vision. You can re-click on the structure that took you in to take you back out.

I tried to go straight to Uldum without following the suggested "optional" Take the Portal steps listed and I couldn't find an entry point and the quest didn't give me a location on the map to find it. Finally I followed the "optional" steps to go through the portal in Stormwind, and then the portal to Jade Forest, and it finally directed me to the exact spot to enter the vision.

It seems that the location of this quest changes depending on where the weekly Vision of N'Zoth structure is. Sometimes it's in Uldum, sometimes it's in the Vale. If you follow the "optional" steps, it will take you to the correct weekly location.

NOTE: If you have an additional daily quest inside the vision, don't immediately leave if you intend to complete that quest inside.

If you get the Vision of N'Zoth for the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, please for the love of god, DO NOT use the Stormwind or Orgimmar portal in the portal room while doing the vision. I assumed it was where I was supposed to go to do the Stormwind Vision but no, it sent me to the mage tower portal room and I don't get to gain any of the rewards for completing the scenario.

UPDATE: It's possible that Blizzard may have hotfixed this to make the portal non-clickable.

Grab the daily quest outside the vision, get inside it and DRINK THE POTION to see the mobs needed to complete the quest.

*Edit* It seems Blizz has disabled the portal in the vision (at least it was disabled the past two times I went in), this should alleviate any accidental clicks and leaving the vision if you were not done yet.

Just a quick update. If you're like some of us that went into the Vale of Eternal Blossoms vision and clicked on the SW/Org portal and got sent out of the vision, fret not because the quest marker is wrong for the turn in. You go back the the CHAMBER OF HEART and turn in the quest to Wraithion there, not inside the vision like the map shows. Would be nice if blizz would give us proper map locations because reading the quest says nothing about it either.

Even though the quest text says you can do this in Vale of Eternal Blossoms or Uldum, in fact only one of those two locations is possible each week.

If you are in the right one you should see the (1) or whatever number for the quest destination on the map. And there is a funny little stone tent thing with eyeballs in it that you click on.

If you are in the wrong zone then nothing appears and you'll need to try the other zone.

It has a mechanic that you can only enter the thing once per day. And there is a daily quest that involves entering. So you may want to do that quest at the same time. Now, when you are inside there is a timed mechanic that kicks you out after a while, and it's not obvious how to accomplish the quest objective. So I would recommend looking up the quest name on Wowhead and/or watching a video so that you know what to do once in there.

Be prepared to be annoyed in the quests to come. Blizzard has been working overtime to annoy the living piss out of players with these quests.

Blizz needs to seriously explain this stuff WAY better. I'm done and I still have no clue what I did.

this is the starter to upgrading your cloak...

once you enter this, it is done, you do not need to complete it.

I've just gotten my cloak and am beginning this questline. The instructions of what to do and which "option" to take to get to either Uldum or Pandaria... ignore these. Open your world map and look at Vale of Eternal Blossoms and Uldum. One of them will have a large glowing door looking icon with an eye in it. Whichever zone has it, simply take the portal from Stormwind or Orgrimmar to that zone and fly over. I know there were hints about look here, go there, and get to this way point. However, the instructions for this quest will actually drive you into said madness without just looking at the world map. I hope this helps someone as it took me almost 20 minutes of portalling in circles to figure out.

This quest opens up additional drops such as Recipe: Void Focus and Tome of Unspeakable Delicacies, and the Lesser Visions of N'Zoth instances Vale of Eternal Twilight and Vision of the Twisting Sands

Doing this in patch 10.5 and I could not figure this out for the life of me. Finally took the advice of someones comment to make sure that you are in the present time when speaking to Zidormi when you enter Vale. It shows up on your ma right after that.

Patch 10.1.7 - If u done the Daily with the Quest Descending Into Madness and u are searching the exit is on /way 84.5, 51.9. If u dont go out u will die xD.

As a reminder u can also use ur Hearthstone, Dalaran Hearthstone (is a toy!), u have also Jainas Neck, which port u to WOLTK Dalaran (Neck can u buy in AH for about 80-100k Gold depends on your server, or u make with ur Warrior, DK and Paladin the Questline about the Legendary 2h Sword guide -> Shadowmourne#guides ), the Ring which ports u also to WOLTK Dalaran (8,5k Gold without rep at Kirin Tor - Tabard for Kirin Tor u can find at ; with it is about 5k gold; u can buy it at /way 39.3, 35.0), and a Ring which u can port to Boralus or Zandalar (Vendor stands In Boralus at /way 67.1, 25.3 and in Zandalar at /way 51.3, 95.1); but u need to grind BFA invasions u will get 5 Tokens each Invasion and the Ring costs 300tokens; 5x30days 150tokens so u need at least 2months to grind it and the invasions are sadly every 12hrs up ☹…and if u have ur Guildcloaks that u port to OG or SW. For sure u have more ports but this will be too much for this topic xD
