The Scarred Spear (optional) is found in Hellfire Ramparts dungeon, on the platform outside right after first boss (where it branches towards the next two bosses). It's right next to the right path.

The spear is optional but getting it lets you display it in the Arcantina.

I did this quest alongside my husband, but I am not able to see the NPC to turn it in. He could see it and turned it in just fine. I tried relogging, leaving and going back, and abandoning the quest. Now I can't pick the quest back up.

Update: I dropped the main story quest which let me pick up the Arcantina quest again, then I ran ramparts and got the spear, but still couldn't see him. It was so weird because my husband had not turned in the main story quest either so it must be some kind of bug. We left to finish unlocking Voidstorm and I was able to turn it in when I went back today.

If you handed the quest in without picking up the spear, you can still get it. Just head into Hellfire Ramparts, it's at 50,55 on the map. Kill the first boss, carry on and go up the spiral staircase. As you come out of the stairs, the spear is forward and to the right of you, next to some boxes by the edge.

Then head back to the Arcantina and place the spear on the wall in the side room on the right.

I dont think they tested this area. Half the orcs are level 30 and the other half are current level. LOL

Ignore the highlighted area for the axes - go over to around 48.2, 54.3 to get from those mobs, or a similar group at 47.67, 48.86.

Helps avoid the swarm of peeps.

The scarred spear is optional for quest completion, but if you're going after achievements, it is required for the Highly Decorated achievement.

For people that can't see the NPC when trying to complete the quest:

Picking up the spear is NOT optional. After you go and pick up the spear, the NPC shows up.

If you have trouble turning the quest in by not finding the npc, try abandoning your main story quest and accept it again. that worked for me.

If, like other people here and like me, you cannot see him in the Arcantina, you must return to Silvermoon and complete the quest Deepening Shadows.

Of course now that the fun police made the arcantia portal take you to where you came from instead of silvermoon after teleporting there with the toy, if you do this quest and port back with the key you exit the portal back to hellfire instead of where you ported to the bar from. Feels bad man idk. There should be a return portal where it drops you in hellfire now.

I had picked this quest up after completing the Icecrown quest that is given in the Arcantina area. I went to the Outland, got the axes only, then teleported back as the quest told me to. I did not see the NPC where he should've been. I tried to reload the UI, did not work, I tried exit and re-enter the area, did not work. I also tried to go out of the area and teleport back in with the toy, did not work. I then decided to complete one campaign quest, then teleported back in to Arcantina, and the NPC showed up finally. Not sure what triggered it, I want to say it was completing the one campaign quest, but regardless it ended up working.

I had to turn-in a meta quest in Silvermoon before I could see the NPC to turn-in this quest.

I repeated this quest on an alt, but did not receive the Scarred Orcish Spear a second time. This may be unique to me, but my assumption is that Blizz prefers us to spend 750 Voidlight Mari to get another spear rather than grinding for it by repeating the quest.

I got to the end of this quest, and Uncrowned's Cold Case. They both tell me to "Use the Arcantina Key to return to Quest Giver Name", but I have no such key. It is a toy learned from Personal Key to the Arcantina, which is allegedly given after completion of the quest The Arcantina. I did receive the quest item Key to the Arcantina, but do not appear to have ever gotten the toy. And my toy tab says the toy is unlearned, so it didn't just give me that without me noticing.

I tried relogging, checking my mailbox, flying to zones in other expansions, and /dance-ing. No dice. I didn't have a solution, except trying to run this on an alt later. However, this is already the second character to run these quests.

And then it hit me: I never clicked the inventory item to learn the toy on the first character. It was still in his inventory, so I logged over and used it. Now I can complete the quest on the alt.

If all else fails, I found a portal to the Arcantina inside the Wayfarer's Rest inn in (Midnight) Silvermoon City. The inn is due east of the Sanctum of Light, slightly southeast of the portal room, and north of the "Walk of Elders" text on the default, in-game map. I'm not sure if that existed before I found and used the toy.

While you're there, fight Nicki Tinytech, pet tamer. Pretty sure my main did this one already, but it was available. Worth 13k xp for lvl 89. She had all mechanical. I used all elemental.

As some have pointed out, sometimes the enemies are not scaled to your level and are trivial to kill. This happens when you're near the citadel itself; you can see the level of the enemies change after you move far enough away from it.

A Favor to Axe

Go to Hellfire Peninsula in Outland and retrieve 10 Rusty Battleaxes. Optionally, collect the Scarred Spear from within the Hellfire Ramparts as well.

Description

Kurdran and I spent twenty years in Outland on the other side of the Dark Portal, after we'd pushed the Horde back with Khadgar, Turalyon, and Alleria. There were some good times, but any day I don't wake up in Honor Hold is already a good day. That whole time, Kurdran led our scouts with his gryphon, Sky'ree. And on his way out of Honor Hold, he would fly low and fast, dodging everything the orcs threw at him. I think it'd be hilarious if you could go find him some mementos!
