Once you have completed this on one character, alts get Shandris's Scouting Report to skip the entry quest to the Emerald Dream. ~~Not sure if this results in reputation loss or misses out on any rewards.~~ Edit 28 Nov.: You only lose out on 70 Flightstones by skipping. However I've found these very useful for upgrades to my alt army!

Note that the recommended path is to do the quest chain on an alt in weeks 1 & 2, with the Darkmoon Faire or any other rep buff (e.g. November anniversary buff) to get to Renown 10. This will grant you +10% reputation when you run it on your Main. More details on fast rep. gain from World of Moudi.

There is a portal back to the Dream in the South East of Valdrakken in The Emerald Enclave (fly up above the bank).
The portal from the Emerald Dream is at the Ancient Bough, nearest Flight Path Verdant Landing within the Dream. It leads to the Ancient Bough, Ohn'ahran Plains, nearest FP Shady Sanctuary.

* Now that my character is over i430, the item reward is i421 Explorer 3/8. At the end of this chapter, with the 19% WoW's 19th Anniversary Buff active, (alongside doing every quest and event in week 1 with the Darkmoon Faire buff up, plus almost every world quest with a Contract: Dream Wardens active, I now reached Renown Level 11 on my Alt (and will switch back to my main with the 10% rep. buff). This unlocked i441 gloves (e.g. plate Fallen Protector Handguards) at the Renown Quartermaster Moon Priestess Lasara, as well as various drake tmogs.
** Edit 28 Nov: Caught up on my main. She's now Renown 18 near the end of Week 2, having done the first 5 chapters of the campaign, all the side-quests, seeds, weekly events in ED and most bi-weekly World Quests with a R3 Contract: Dream Wardens (with the 19th Anniversary buff, and some with the Harvest buff). I probably could have made 20 if I'd done every single thing.
**Edit 7 Jan 24: for alts, I've been simply doing:
(1) the three weekly quests at base camp for aiding the Dream Wardens, Super bloom event & plant 5 seeds, all of which give a satchel containing a Veteran level item (sadly, not always unique as I've had 3 cloaks on one char and 3 rings on another!). Blizzard made a change so the first 5 seeds per week give a big chunk of rep, subsequent ones very little, so it's not worth farming on alts unless you REALLY want that 100,000g item on multiple characters.
(2) World Boss - which has a chance to drop a champion item
(3) any useful World Quests
(4) one or two campaign or side quests, if time before the next Super bloom
In under an hour per character, (two for the one I'm focussing on) this has got: 1 alt to Renown 20; one to 19; 4 over 10; and further 19 to between 3 & 9.

Call of the Dream is an important introduction to the Emerald Dream zone in the Dragon Isles.

To enter the Emerald Dream, one character will need to complete the Coalition of Flames storyline and the first two quests in a new storyline, Emerald Dream Campaign: Call of the Dream and Emerald Welcome.
Alts will be able to skip the Coalition of Flames storyline by clicking on Shandris's Scouting Report, but must complete Call of the Dream and Emerald Welcome. Beware: the skip is automatically applied to all alts.

Where are the portals to the Dream?

Ancient Bough portal(Enter and Exit the Dream at the Ohn'ahran Plains)

This portal is in the middle of a tiny island called the "Ancient Bough". It's off the coast of the Ohn'ahran Plains. The nearest flight point is the Shady Sanctuary. Half of the island is in the Ohn'ahran Plains and half is in the Emerald Dream.

To see the portal area in more detail, open the map of the Emerald Dream. Use the drop-down map menu. Or click on the mid-sized island off the coast of the Ohn’ahran Plains — it glows yellow on mouseover. The island represents the Emerald Dream.

Valdrakken portalto the Emerald Dream

The portal is in the garden of the Emerald Enclave. Fly over the bank and land. The portal takes you to the Central Encampment (The portal is usable once you've entered the Dream through the Ancient Bough portal.)

Here are the quest chains that will open the Emerald Dream:

1. Emerald Dream Campaign: Start
Quest 1. Call of the Dream	Call of the Dream is completed when you finish the Coalition of Flames storyline and turn in the quest to Merithra at the Ancient Bough portal to the Emerald Dream. The portal is on a small island called “Ancient Bough” — which is off the coast of the Ohn'ahran Plains. Objectives: Complete the "Coalition of Flames" storyline from Shandris in Valdrakken, then travel to the Ancient Bough in the Ohn'ahran Plains . There is no quest giver — you automatically receive Call of the Dream when you log in after the Emerald Dream zone launch in 10.2. You'll also find Shandris's Scouting Report in your inventory. You can use it to skip the Coalition of Flames storyline -- if one character has completed it. Beware: the skip is automatically applied to all alts.
2. Coalition of Flames storyline
List of Quests 1. Fire Season 2. A Sentinel's Summon 3. Dousing the Wards 4. Eyes of Fire 5. Through the Flames 6. Inflammatory Information 7. Raise the Alarm There are several videos ("Movies") that move the storyline along.
Details of 1. Fire Season Shandris Feathermoon starts and ends quest	Find Quest giver Shandris Feathermoon Shandris Feathermoon is in Valdrakken at the bottom of the steps to the Hall of the Aspects (50.2, 53.0). She will give you the quest Fire Season which asks you to meet her in Lunedale in the Ohn'ahran Plains. Lunedale is near the Shady Sanctuary flight point. But If you don't see Shandris Feathermoon in Valdrakken, you probably already picked up Fire Season and ignored it. Look for the storyline quest marker (chevron shape) near the Shady Sanctuary flight point in the Ohn'ahran Plains: /way #2023 18.6 80.0 Shandris Feathermoon says, No doubt you have seen the destruction that Fyrakk continues to leave in his wake…. We learned that he is to have a secret meeting with Vyranoth soon in Lunedane. This is a deviation from his recent tactics, and we need to know why. Given the danger, we would value your aid. Meet me in Lunedane.
Details of 7. Raise the Alarm Quest giver: Shandris Feathermoon Turn in to Captain Drine at the Seat of the Aspects	Raise the Alarm concludes the Coalition of the Flames storyline. Shandris Feathermoon says, So the Druids of the Flame have allied with Fyrakk to help him invade the Emerald Dream...Go to Captain Drine in Valdrakken and alert her. She will dispatch the drakonid. I will go to Merithra and handle things here. You receive a Sentinel's Whistle. Use it to summon a hippogryph that will fly you up to the Seat of the Aspects in Valdrakken. Turn in the quest to Captain Drine.
3. Emerald Dream Campaign: Call of the Dream turn in.
Call of the Dream Completion Turn in quest to Merithra at portal to Emerald Dream	Call of the Dream is completed when you finish the Coalition of Flames storyline and turn in the quest to Merithra at the Ancient Bough portal to the Emerald Dream. She is standing next to Alexstrasza the Life-Binder in front of the portal. The Ancient Bough portal is on a small island called the “Ancient Bough”. The island is off the coast of the Ohn'ahran Plains. The nearest flight point is the Shady Sanctuary. On the map of the Ohn'ahran Plains you should see the quest completion marker. Coordinates: /way #2023 18.6 51.8 Merithra says, Not so long ago, the World Tree was planted within the Emerald Dream. There, we have kept it safe....We must protect it from those who would do it harm or wield its power for their own ends.
4. Emerald Dream Campaign: Emerald Welcome. Receive your Flourishing Whimsydrake.
Emerald Welcome Merithra starts and ends quest	Now go through the portal. Run down the dirt path to the Verdant Landing flight point. Merithra is standing in front of a Moonwell pool. Her position will be marked with a chevron quest marker. Interact with Merithra and click on "Play Movie". This will complete Emerald Welcome. Your welcome gift is a Flourishing Whimsydrake. This is a dragonriding mount. (Any dragonriding mount can be used in the Emerald Dream.) Merithra now says, I swore that the tree would be kept secret and hidden in the Dream. Now all we have worked for is under threat by flame....The Dream as we know it might change forever.
It's best to turn in Emerald Welcome before you start doing World Quests or a Superbloom event. When you turn it in, you'll see the next Emerald Dream Campaign quest, and If you're doing Aiding the Accord: Superbloom, you'll get credit for the requirement to ”Continue the Guardians of the Dream campaign to access the Emerald Dream".
Problems completing Emerald Welcome If you go to the Verdant Landing flight point and Merithra isn't there or won't interact with you, fly out the portal to the Ohn'ahran Plains. Wait two minutes. Then fly back into the Emerald Dream and return to the flight point. This should reset the storyline quest marker (chevron) and you should be able to interact with Merithra and turn in Emerald Welcome.

If you want to get your alts/main decently raid-ready geared right from hitting 70, I would not recommend skipping this storyline.

Small note for alts, assuming you unlocked the Emerald Dream proper on your main: the portal works at 70, regardless of whether or not you did this quest chain. So you can enter the Dream, fly to the Bough and do the startup without traveling at all. If doing this entirely anew, one of the Waygates is close by.

You have to be lvl 70 in order to get the first quest Call of the dream in the Enter the Dream questline that takes you to the Emeral dream. You can do the first questline The Coalition of the Flames before you reach 70.

For the people starting the storyline late who see absolutely no one in the Ancient Bough area and have no quest to accept (like me), the way I "fixed" it was by going into Adventure Guide --> Suggested Content and then accepting a quest that looks druid-y. Accepted it and people suddenly appeared in the Bough and I could move on.

If you see the exclamation point (!) on the map for this near 19,51 but there is nothing there to interact with...
1) simply log out, switch characters, switch back, and log back in..
2) accept all the 'pop up' quests
3) see the quest marker shift to a '?' now.

Be well adventurer, you may now enter the Dream after speaking to Merithra.

On my map it showed the quest was available but I wasn't getting it. I had already completed the prerequisite quest line. I exited the game and loaded back in and as soon as I did, the quest popped up for me.

If you have used the character upgrade service to level 70 on a new account and you do not have a starting quest, then you need to complete the quest chain in Valdrakken:

Fire Season

After that, you will have a quest at the portal to the Emerald Dream.

Hot to get Emerald Dream Campaign?

As I couldn't find useful info on this, I will post it myself.

After being stuck for weeks, I finally got it once I completed the Zaralek Cavern storyline (Embers of Neltharion).

So yes — you DO need to complete the Dragonflight campaign up through Embers of Neltharion in order for Shandris to be available.

Good news:
If you have already completed this story on another character, or boosted a character, you can skip the first chapter of Embers of Neltharion by talking to Kalendormu, and you may then be able to pick up Future Aspects from Ebyssian in Zaralek Caverns, complete only that zone, and—if you’re lucky—unlock Tracking Down Incarnates which sends you to Shandris Feathermoon and accept Fire Season without compelting the full four-zone Dragonflight campaign.

I recommend installing the BTWQuests addon along with the Dragonflight extension.
It helps a lot to track campaign progress and see exactly which quests or chapters you’re missing.

If you want to access only the zone itself to get druid forms etc, you do NOT have to do the quests that would require whole 10.0 and 10.1 campaign. There is a Portal to Central Encampment in Emerald Enclave in Valdrakken that will simply teleport you to the Emerald Dream zone.

I remember Shandris constantly bothering me in Dragonflight to do the introductory quest for the Emerald Dream every time I went to the capital. I didn't do it back then, and now when I wanted to, it wouldn't show up anywhere.
After browsing the comments here and on other quests, I decided to accept the quest The Vanishing of Iridikron that appeared at the top of the city. In conclusion - which is just watching a cinematic - I was directed to speak with Shandris via Tracking Down Incarnates and received the first quest in the line, which is Fire Season.
I hadn't done these quests on other characters or anything like that, and the quest order contradicted what I found here on the site. If none of the other comments solved the problem, it's worth checking if there isn't a missing quest like this one.

Hopefully a more recent comment to help people trying to unlock the emerald dream before midnight drops. Ultimately you are looking for Shandris Feathermoon to spawn in Valdrakken in the main circle near the inn to pick up her quest Fire Season, however many people have been having issues with getting her to spawn without completing 8/9 storys of the DF campaign. Previously, you could get her to appear once you completed the Thaldraszus storyline which at 4/9 for the DF campaign (I can confirm this because that is how I unlocked the Emerald Dream on my alt and I have access to the zone with only 4/9 of the DF campaign completed) but something clearly changed in a previous patch.

I can confirm that the suggestion to complete the zaralek caverns campaign DOES work to have Shandris appear in Valdrakken. For those having issues starting the zaralek caverns storyline I suggest checking previous storylines through WoWHead and confirming you have actually completed them. Because I had leveled my current character in timewalking DF and completely abandonded the campaign upon reaching lvl 80, I was stuck in the middle of the A Creche Divided storyline unknowingly. Previous comments on WoWhead have been very helpful tracking each storyline to ultimately get to the Zaralek Caverns one.

This is for anyone who's not interested in doing the full campaign on a fresh alt just to get an NPC to stand where it should be to hand you a quest, in order to get to the Emerald dream so you can farm pets/ druid forms etc.

There's a portal in Valdrakken that ports you to Central Encampment at 62.91, 57.32 without completing a single quest on the dragon isles.

However, I am unaware whether it matters if some character in your warband has to complete the campaign to unlock said portal.
