I can't believe I'm the first to be immature enough to say this... but does anybody else think that monelite ore is what petrified brutosaur poo would look like? Also, seems looks like they did the back leg bent knee waddle while doing their business.

im on live and in zuldazar, no monalite ore no silver ore where is all the ore.? im horde I logged in my alliance char and its all over the place I don't understand

Vol'Dun for Horde
Drustvar for Alliance

The rocky/mountainous formations have many deposits scattered throughout!

As of right now (patch 8.0.1), mining Azerite-Infused Elementals seems to drop a ton of this stuff. Farming these guys' corpses for an hour gave me well over 100 Monelite. Might be my confirmation bias, but they do seem to drop more when you help kill the elemental than they do when you farm other players' kills (The most I got from one I didn't kill was 2, whereas I was consistently getting 3-4 on ones I helped kill).

Edit: As of mid-October, there doesn't seem to be a noticable difference in the amount of Monelite dropped between when you tag an elemental and when you don't.

I did some prospecting research and this ore isn't worth prospecting. Here's what it yields based on 600 ore prospected.

Currently this is the most expensive ore. If you got this and want gems - sell it and buy Platinum Ore

Monel is a real-life alloy of copper and nickel, generally stronger than nickel alone, and has a good resistance to seawater -- just the sort of thing you'd expect to be useful in the seafaring communities of the Battle for Azeroth isles.

If you can get access to the Anti-Gravity Pack, you can mine hundreds of Monelite Ore and Storm Silver Ore per hour in Mechagon. For me at least, it has been the most lucrative method of mining in BFA. This isn't to mention that you can rack up on harder-to-find ores this way as well like Platinum Ore, finding/looting Mechanized Chest for materials to build additional Anti-Gravity Packs, completing achievements like Rest In Pistons, and so on.

If you have the jetpack, you can mine the ore and open Mechanized Chest without ever dismounting, plus you can use it inside the caves making quick in-and-out mining take only seconds.

On days where the the Broken Rustbolt Armory is active, you can loot the Anti-Gravity Pack from it and have the jetpack for 20m. During that 20m, I usually mine for ore for around 15 minutes and use the last 5 to locate another jetpack. It was pretty easy to keep an active jetpack indefinitely through the day. Alternatively, if you have the Blueprint: Anti-Gravity Pack, you can build your own for cheaper than fixing the Broken Rustbolt Armory and keep them in your inventory for whenever. Each time you build your own jetpacks, you get 3x. The killing of rares and looting chests usually keeps me in ample supply of the Energy Cell and Spare Parts I need to stay stocked on jetpacks.

For me, currently, best place to farm this ore is Mechagon with all buffs, the rate is about 9 ores per minute.

During 20 mins I got ...
Monelite Ore 181 ~9 p/min
Storm Silver Ore 287 ~14 p/min
Platinum Ore 3 ~0,15 p/min

Yesterday this repeat for me 4 times almost with exactly same values.

Items/Buss that helps:
- Anti-Gravity Pack from construction projects Rustbolt Armories or Anti-Gravity Pack/Blueprint: Anti-Gravity Pack, with this you can mine the ore while mounted without get unmount inside caves
- Monel-Hardened Stirrups, with this you can mine the ore while mounted
- Enchant Gloves - Zandalari Mining on any Zandalari gloves
