Alchemy Only Perks

Alchemists have access to daily transmutations such as Transmute: Expulsom to obtain older crafting materials more easily.

Alchemist can make and use Potion of Herb Tracking, a piece of follower gear that has a chance to reward herbs after successful missions.

Alchemists can acquire special battle pets through transmutes, selling them for cash.

Alchemists receive increased duration on effects of elixirs and flasks that they know how to make.

Rank 1 recipes are not special and simply allow you to craft the item. You can learn Rank 1 recipes from your profession trainer.

Rank 2 recipes lower the amount of reagents needed for crafting. Most Rank 2 recipes can be purchased from the Alchemy trainer once you reach a high enough skill level; however, some, such as Mystical Cauldron, are acquired differently.

Rank 3 recipes have a chance to create multiple extra items at no extra cost. They are harder to obtain, often coming from faction vendors that require a certain reputation level before you can learn it.

I was able to Level Alchemy with few mats to get to Flasks.
1-20 Coastal Healing Potion
20-40 Coastal Mana Potion
40-60 Coastal Rejuvenation Potion if you run out early just make some more healing and mana pots while also using them for rejuv potions, these are all rank 2 starting at 40 and goes green at 62
60-80 Demitri's Draught of Deception recipie is rank 2 and will go green at 82 so make a couple more if you like
80-115 any Battle Potions, recipe is learned at 75 and will go green at 115
115-145 Flask of Endless Fathoms Flask of the Currents Flask of the Undertow Flask of the Vast Horizon are learned at 115 and will go green at 145
145-150 you can now make Mystical Cauldron but they require Expulsom from the scrapper and Hydrocore from Uldir. You may want to just continue making flasks as it will still generate skill up, just at a lesser rate. If you've made it to revered with a faction (with the exception of Tortollan Seekers) you may visit their vendor for rank 3 of their flask which remains a good skill up until 150.

my question is this: is there any value leveling alchemy on new alts, as we are weeks away from BfA? or, if an alt has no professions now, just wait, and start post launch?

Unless I'm missing something here, every Alchemy crafted trinket is replaceable by any bargain bin drop out of even a normal dungeon - which is 10 item levels higher. The gap becomes even wider as you go into higher difficulties... I don't see anyone using these trinkets by the time we're in Uldir barring extremely bad luck or a dire need to restore just shy of 800 mana at the cost of better stats and whatever trinket effects/abilities you'd be giving up.

I can't math well enough to work it out to an exact stat break - but at some point it'll be better to just heal for more (needing LESS mana to keep people alive) , than being able to give yourself 800 additional mana to spend on weaker heals.

The one (useful) tincture isn't much better than any other trinket with an on use effect that boosts your power in some way - except it requires you to use a flask to benefit from it.

If you're going to be doing the grind to get raid ready - by the time you step into Uldir you should atleast be doing Mythic dungeons, meaning you're item level ought to be around 340 minimum. Thats a sizable power gap over some ilvl 300 alchemy trinket...

Do we know if there will be a BFA equivalent to Potions of Prolonged or if we should just bring them over into BFA?

when are they going to change the xmute system? it's entirely ridiculous that using your wild transmutation triggers the cool down for every other transmutation in the game (except livign steel and primal might). ridiculous that this is still a thing. also, why do you keep adding a new invisibilty potion... 0 point to this. they all do the same thing and for the same length..except the newer ones take more time to craft. just stp making invisibility potions. remove all invisibilty potions from the game except the origional one and force people to buy that one..OR put level restrictions on them, like you should have done with the drums from wod.

I had alchemy since day 1 of wow, imo if you want to make a lot of gold the first few months of an expansion, take herbs and alchemy.

If you are having problems finding the right alchemy (or other profession vendors) you can see here where you can find them. You need to train the new BFA skills.

Hi, I need some help. Today I was wondering, why cant I learn Coastal Rejuvenation Potion rank 1 (alchemy skill 42). In the end I found it in my alchemy tab under "Unlearned" and I dont know how that happened neither how to fix it. Do you have some advice?

I’ve been looking around and it seems unclear so I’ll ask you all here. Does anyone have an approximation of either

a)the proc rate of rank 3 flasks yielding multiple flasks

or even

b)a sample size of ‘create flask’ casts with the actual number of flasks produced?

Obviously the rank 2 recipes for flasks are unprofitable because the mats for one cast outweigh the value of one flask, but depending on this info the rank 3 recipes could be worth the effort.

I've had alchemy on my druid since day one, and back in the days I choose to be a potion master. I know alchemy masteries have been inactive since forever, but is there any chance there's some unresolved code lingering or something to prevent flask procs, or am I just THAT unlucky? I keep hearing about friends and guildies proccing left and right, people saying they proc every 3rd flask or so. I get maybe ONE x2 proc out of 10 flasks. Anyone else can relate?

I'm hoping someone can help... I'm level 117 for Alchemy and as far as I know should be able to get the Rank 2 for flasks at 115 from the trainer, but for some reason none of them are there. Has the location changed for Rank 2? Or is it ticket time?

How about Blizzard needs to remove Hydrocores from the Cauldrons if they are adding Tidalcores, They are only making it harder to farm them now with a chance for either or to drop instead of being a guaranteed drop.

I used to use 2 different types of healing potions because their cooldowns were different. It looks like they have the same cooldown now. :( Is there an updated list of cooldowns?

Does anyone know what the discovery rates are on the new trinkets? If I craft one of the trinkets, is it guaranteed that I'll learn the recipe for the next tier of trinket or is it like discovery used to be back in the day where I'm going to have sink a fortune into junk trinkets before I even learn the recipe for the next tier?

I would also like to add i found the recipe for Spirited Alchemist Stone by scraping a Surging Alchemist Stone.

In the sheet with the Alchemist Stones we have a Skill Requirement with 100 for the Tidal Alchemist Stone, wich is wrong. Requires a skill of 130 to craft it. The ongoing Stones (Spirited and Eternal) do have a req. Skill LvL of 100 wich is kinda "dumb" cuz u dont get the main Stone before 130 as already said.
Maybe fix this in the sheet if u guys want. :)

Am I reading this correctly? To make 8.3 trinkets I have to make an 'Unbound Alchemist Stone' first. It's the exact same stats as the 'Ascending Alchemist Stone'..... waste of mats (specifically Expulsom) to progress to 470 trinket. (sigh)
