No longer fabulous due to sadly having his voice changed to a rather typical sounding dragon voice.

The names of his abilities and this item were clearly designed with the original voice in mind, though.

As for what he does in the fight, while on the ground, he leaves patches of flame that need to avoided, and casts Devouring Magic on random mana using raid members, which causes a fraction of all the healing and damage they deal to harmfully splash to those nearby, meaning they should move out of the group.

While airborne, he fires twilight blasts at random raid members that cause damage to anyone within 10 yards, and before he lands, targets multiple spots with the aforementioned Dazzling Destruction.

How to: Valiona and Theralion (Normal)

First things first, start by pulling Valiona, as you want him(her?) on the ground much rather than Theralion.

Fight consists of one dragon being on the ground, while the other one spams stuff from the air. The bosses share a healthpool.

TL;DR version:
Valiona on ground: Spread, clump up on Blackout, spread again, avoid breath
Theralion on ground: Stack, debuffed player gtfo, move from void zones

While Valiona is on the ground, the basic idea is to stay spread out at all times to minimize meteor damage and clump up when Blackout hits someone. In 10man, have everyone get to melee when someone gets hit by blackout and in 25man, you can have separate ranged & melee groups if you dont want to run around too much. Just make sure you dispel Blackout fast when people are together to avoid useless meteor damage.
Also, when breath comes, either move behind the boss OR if thats not possible, move as far away as possible from the breath, it does pathetic damage at max range.
When Theralion is about to land, some swirling looking void zone thingies spawn on the ground, just dont get hit by them and dps Valiona as long as possible.

While Theralion is on ground, its the opposite. You gotta stack up to split the meteor damage equally between everyone hit, but you must keep some players at range at all times. The easiest way to do this is to have around half of your raid in melee stacked up and the rest spread rather close to melee. When one of the people at range get marked to be hit by next meteor, simply run to melee (You have 6 seconds to react and move) and back out after meteor.
As for other abilities, if you get Engulfing Magic, if you have anyone next to you, do not cast anything (If you have dots/hots in, move even faster), as all damage and healing done will be hit as aoe around you.
If boss turns head towards you, you can preemptively move away from the void zone that will come to the ground.
When Valiona is about to land, he does a breath which will cover a third of the room (Think Felmyst). Its not a huge aoe really, so its easy to dodge, as long as you move to the correct side.

After that, rinse and repeat. The phases rotate until bosses die. Spread on Valiona, stack on Theralion.

Strategy Guide:

Below, I have written a guide on the abilities and how we defeated this boss.

Our Group:

Tanks - | Druid |
Healers - | Shaman | Paladin | Priest |
DPS - | Death Knight | Hunter | Rogue | Paladin | SPriest | Mage |

General Boss Information:

This boss encounter involves 2 dragons, Valiona & Theralion.
Only one will be engaged at a time. The other one will be in the air harassing the raid until they switch.
They each do unique abilities and have pretty much the opposite mechanics. (Described below)

Boss Abilities:

Valiona: (On the ground)
While on the ground, Valiona will periodically cast Devouring Flames.
During this time, Theralion is in the air and while he is there, he will periodically cast Blackout on a random player and when dispelled, will deal ~300,000 split amongst players within 6-8 yards.
He will also cast Twilight Blast on a random raid member and splashes to other players within 6-8 yards, including melee.
Right before the phase change, Theralion will cast Dazzling Destruction which is indicated by gigantic galaxy looking swirls on the ground. If you get hit by these you get sent into the Twilight Realm.

Theralion: (On the ground)
While on the ground, Theralion will cast Engulfing Magic on a random raid member which increases damage and healing done by 100%, but also deals that damage or healing to nearby allies.
During this time, Valiona is in the air and will constantly be casting Twilight Meteorite on a random raid member, indicated by a big arrow above their head. It splits its damage amongst nearby allies.
The last thing Valiona will do right before the phase change is cast Deep Breath which deals ~15k damage and sends the player into the Twilight Realm. She will cast this in one of 3 rows in the room and is predictable.

Our Strategy:

Engage Valiona first and have everyone spread out as much as possible due to Twilight Blast.
When someone gets Blackout cast on them everyone needs to converge to split the damage it doeas.
Rinse and repeat these until Dazzling Destruction is cast. 6 of these will be cast and after they are done Theralion will land and Valiona will fly away.
At this time, everyone needs to stack. Melee on the tanks and Ranged on a designated player. This is due to Twilight Meteorite. In order to keep you moving, Theralion will place void zones on random players, so you will have to rotate around the outside of him as a group.
When someone gets Engulfing Magic is cast on a member, just have that person move out for the duration, then back in. If that person is targeted by a Meteorite, then have that person stop casting and stack.
At the end of this phase, Valiona will cast Deep Breath. It will engulf 1/3 of the room and will phase anyone hit by it into the Twilight Realm. It is very easy to predict this and just move out of it when it happens. The zones are selected at random.
Overall this is a pretty easy fight.

Just a quick addition, our shaman had grounding totem down and we think it was fizzling blackout. It failed to hit multiple times, helped out a lot. Not sure if this works, but maybe.

EDIT: Yeah, it does work. Pretty nice thing to have. Just make sure your shaman recasts it after each Blackout.

Hotfixed today January 18th, no longer works.

There are no specific pages for bosses, so I'm gonna throw this guide here for now.

Valiona and Theralion - This fight is an alternating two phase encounter. The fight will start off with Valiona on the ground, and Theralion in the air. Every once and a while, one dragon will fly up in the air, and the other one will come down. Only one dragon is active at any time, so don't worry about that.

A few seconds into the fight, Valiona will cast "Blackout" on a random raid member. Blackout will absorb 20k heals on it's target, and when removed or when the duration expires, the target will explode for 250k damage, split between the number of targets it hits. This means, that when someone gets Blackout, you need to stack on that person and either remove it when you know you're safe, or just wait 5 seconds for it to expire.

Every once and a while, Valiona will cast "Devouring Flame". This is a 2-3 second cast, and when she uses it, she will turn towards where she will breathe. Anybody standing infront of her while she is casting will take 25k damage a second. Needless to say, don't be infront of her when she uses this.

When Valiona is about to enter her air phase, she will start casting "Dazzling Destruction". This will cause several void zones to appear on the ground that appear in pairs. Standing in these void zones will cause 15k damage and send the target to the Twilight Realm. (If you are sent to the Twilight Realm, avoid balls and make your way to the portal.) After she is done, Valiona will enter her air phase and Theralion will come down.

Periodically, Theralion will cast "Twilight Meteorite" on a random person. The targeted player will get a purple arrow over their head, and the raid will need to stack ontop of them to split the damage. Theralion will also cast "Engulfing Magic". Any healing or damage taken by the target will mirror back onto nearby raid members. So if you get the debuff, run out of the raid.

Theralions last and most important ability is "Fabulous Flames/Dying Breath". This will leave a fairly large void zone on a random raider that takes a while to despawn. Because of this, you'll want to have your range stack up far away from the melee group and move west/left or east/right whenever a new void zone appears.

When this is over, Valiona will come back down and the fight just repeats until you kill her. Good luck! :-)

Grounding totem is currently stopping blackout making one of the more difficult mechanics completely irrellevant.

Having a shaman in each group is pretty much gg. On 10 man at least.

On 10m, if your group is having trouble reacting to the mechanics in time, the enrage timer is generous enough to run with 4 healers to smooth out people's mistakes.

It's worth noting that the damage from Theralion's Twilight Blast is completely avoidable by simply moving for a moment when the spell's cast finishes.

For this reason, having him set as your focus whenever he's in the air can be helpful.

Soloable on 25H as a frost mage now, though Blackout will still hit for ~90% of your HP so have a healing potion and ice barrier ready. You will need ~665 or better ilevel to do this.

25 heroic solod as a prot pala (ilvl 641).

Just use Divine Protection to mitigate Blackout, I only had Valiona cast it twice.
It'll be up again by the second time she casts it. Easy enough.

Blood DKs can solo this easily with 600 ilvl gear.
Use AMS and Bone Shield on the first Blackout, and IBF and Vamp on the second.
Theralion is an easy tank n' spank.
You shouldn't have another Valiona phase, but if you do I'd imagine you could just repeat the process of the first one.

Trying to solo this 25m heroic?

Shieldtronic Shield is your best friend. Just pop it right before the debuff falls off on Blackout and you should be good. 200k is minimum health needed, that's cutting it close but everyone should be decently geared nowadays to have 230k+.

On an average of 10 runs Valiona and Theralion 25HC rewards 214 gold, 26 silver and 54 copper after vendoring dropped gear.

Theralion

When the encounter begins, Theralion immediately takes to the air, while Valiona engages the attackers on the ground. The twin dragons share a single health pool, and each alternates between being airborne and fighting on the ground.

Grounded Abilities
Theralion uses the following abilities while on the ground.
- Engulfing Magic – Theralion twists the magical energies within an enemy spellcaster, increasing their damage and healing done by 100% for 20 sec.
  However, each time the affected player deals damage or healing, Engulfing Magic triggers a twilight explosion. The blast causes damage equal to the amount of damage or healing dealt to all players within 10 yards.
  In a 25 player raid, Theralion twists the magical energies of three enemy spellcasters.
- Fabulous Flames – Theralion launches a burst of twilight energy at the location of a random enemy. Fabulous Flames leave a circular patch of twilight fire on the ground for 45 sec., inflicting 19 Shadow damage every 1 sec. to all players in a 12 yard radius.
- Twilight Shift – Theralion periodically applies Twilight Shift to his current target. This effect stacks. When Theralion applies a fifth stack to the same target, he casts Shifting Reality on the target.
  - Shifting Reality – When Theralion applies a fifth stack of Twilight Shift to a target, Shifting Reality inflicts 16 Shadow damage to all players within 8 yards, and draws the affected players into the Twilight Realm.
Airborne Abilities
Theralion uses the following abilities while in the air.
- Twilight Blast – While hovering overhead, Theralion continually launches bolts of twilight flame at the locations of random players. When a Twilight Blast impacts the ground, it explodes and inflicts 34 Shadow damage to all players within 8 yards of the impact location.
- Dazzling Destruction – As he prepares to land, Theralion mesmerizes his foes with swirling patterns of energy on the ground. Theralion then strikes each of these locations with massive blasts of twilight power, inflicting 16 Shadow damage to players within 12 yards and sending anyone caught in the blast into the Twilight Realm. If a player is already in the Twilight Realm when struck by Dazzling Destruction, that player dies.

Valiona

When the encounter begins, Theralion immediately takes to the air, while Valiona engages the attackers on the ground. The twin dragons share a single health pool, and each alternate between being airborne and fighting on the ground.

Grounded Abilities
Valiona uses the following abilities while on the ground.
- Blackout – Valiona surrounds a random player in a shroud of Twilight energy, absorbing the next 57 points of healing on the target. When Blackout expires or a player dispels the effect, the dark energy explodes in a massive torrent. The explosion inflicts 981 Shadow damage divided amongst all players within 8 yards.
- Devouring Flames – Valiona unleashes a prolonged breath of Twilight flame in the direction of a random player. Devouring Flames inflicts up to 88 Shadow damage every 1 sec. for 5 sec. The damage diminishes on targets within the breath the farther away from Valiona they are located.
- Twilight Shift – Valiona periodically applies Twilight Shift to her current target. This effect stacks. When Valiona applies a fifth stack to the same target, she casts Shifting Reality on the target.
  - Shifting Reality – When Valiona applies a fifth stack of Twilight Shift to a target, Shifting Reality inflicts 16 Shadow damage to all players within 8 yards, and draws the affected players into the Twilight Realm.
Airborne Abilities
Valiona uses the following abilities while in the air.
- Twilight Meteorite – Valiona sets her sights upon a random player and prepares to unleash a powerful Twilight Meteorite on them. When the meteorite lands on the player, it inflicts 294 Shadow damage divided amongst players within 6 yards of the impact point.
- Deep Breath – As she prepares to land, Valiona takes a deep breath and strafes from one end of the chamber to the other, engulfing a third of the room in Twilight Flames. Contact with this dark flame inflicts 29 Shadow damage, and draws the player into the Twilight Realm. If the player is already in the Twilight Realm when struck by Deep Breath, that player dies.

Twilight Realm

Being struck by Theralion's Dazzling Destruction or Valiona's Deep Breath pulls players into the Twilight Realm. In this alternate plane of existence, spheres of volatile twilight energy float around and detonate if touched. Collapsing portals appear randomly throughout the area, and players may use a portal to return to the material plane. Each portal disappates after a time.

In Heroic Difficulty Shifting Reality also pulls players into the Twilight Realm.

Twilight Sentry – On Heroic Difficulty the Twilight Realm is populated by the mysterious Twilight Sentries. Visible only as shimmers of twilight to those in the material plane, Twilight Sentries strike out indiscriminately, firing Rift Blasts at players both inside and outside the Twilight Realm.
- Rift Blast – Twilight Sentries continually fire Rift Blasts at random players, inflicting 25 Shadow damage every 3 sec.
Twilight Zone – Players trapped in the Twilight Realm suffer 5 Shadow damage every 2 sec. The effect stacks, and the damage inflicted increases by 10% with each additional application.
Unstable Twilight – Coming into contact with one of the floating orbs of twilight energy within the Twilight Realm causes it to violently explode. Unstable Twilight inflicts 39 Shadow damage to all players within 8 yards, but only affects players inside the Twilight Realm.
