An experiment that has been changed constantly over the years by Nefarian, Chimaeron has many abilities that would instantly 1 shot anybody. However, Finkle is back and he has brought a friendly little bot that is essential to winning the fight with him while being locked up.

He has an 8 minute berserk timer, as well.

How to: Chimaeron (Normal)

First things first, DONT PULL WITHOUT TALKING TO FINKLE! Dont do any aoe damage either, the boss has a huuuuuuge hitbox.

The niche on this fight is that even though almost all of the bosses abilities one shot you, as long as you are above 10k health (and the bot is up!), you can not die. So healers need to learn how to heal everyone above 10k quickly and then not waste anymore mana than needed. This includes everyone except the offtank, who needs to be topped after every taunt.

Boss is split in to 3 phases, 1-2 rotating until you hit zerg phase at 20%

During phase 1, everyone stay as spread as humanly possible. Utilize bosses large hitbox as melee. Healers heal everyone hit by poison bolts above 10k (the debuff from poison bolts lowers miss chance by 75% for 4 sec). There is absolutely no reason to heal anyone more than 10k, as massacre will simply take everyone back to 1hp again.
The boss will periodically debuff your tank with a debuff called Break, increasing damage taken, but this doesnt really matter, because as long as your tank is above 10k, he simply can not die.
When boss gains a buff called Double Strike, have an offtank immediately taunt the boss, eat the two hits which would kill your main tank, then have your maintank taunt it back.

After the 2nd OR 3rd massacre, boss enters phase 2 (everyone start moving close to melee as soon as 3rd massacre casts if 2nd didnt trigger it)

In p2, boss will not melee tanks, but will spam poison bolts at super speeds and you will lose your bot buff. What this means is that EVERYONE needs to clump up in melee, aoe heal like craaaazy and just eat the damage which spreads between all targets. You have about 10 seconds of time to heal everyone from 1 hp to full before boss starts spamming aoe. Use every single possible defensive/healing cooldown you can think of and rotate them as needed on every phase 2. Phase 2 ends after 30 seconds (3 volleys of poison bolts), after which phase 1 starts again (start moving asap after 3rd volley!).

After this boss will transition in to p2 again after the second OR third massacre, so be fast on movement.

When boss hits 20%, few things happen. Boss becomes untauntable, will not use massacre/poison bolts/double strike, takes 10% extra damage (iirc, not 100% sure) and ALL healing done is reduced by 99%. This is as simple as it gets as a burn phase, pop heroism, everyone including healers just nuke the boss as much as you possibly can (priests can still shield stuff but it really isnt worth it). Everyone takes 2 hits to die thanks to bot buff still being active, so just nuke the boss down as hard as you can.

To get achievement, only 2 players can die in the fight. I really cant see this happen with the current gear level, maybe with 2 fresh offtanks with no break and crazy cooldowns/luck/avoidance.

Edit: To get the achievement, make sure a rogue is third on threat when he the tanks start dying. As long as the tanks stay alive for even some time, evasion tanking should give you enough time to get the achievement.

Fun fight and its easy when your healers get the healing done correctly!

Edit v2: Thanks to the bosses swing timer being so ridiculously slow, you sometimes might find that Chimaeron has Double Strike buffed on himself while he is casting massacre. When this happens, if you have guardian spirit, pop it on the offtank. Otherwise, offtank use every single cooldown, get him above 10k and pray that at least one of the hits is dodge/parry/miss. MT make sure you dont steal aggro from him during massacre either. If you have really amazing healers which can top the tank in a matter of seconds while still getting everyone else above 10k as well, no problemo.

Strategy Guide & Video:

Below, I have written a guide on the abilities and how we defeated this boss.

Our Group:

Tanks - | Druid | Death Knight |
Healers - | Shaman | Paladin | Druid |
DPS - | Rogue | Ele Shaman | SPriest | SPriest | Mage |

General Boss Information:

This boss is a stationary tank and spank with very few mechanics. (Explained below)
He hits EXTREMELY hard and must be 2 tanked.
There is a Bile-o-tron in the room that prevents anyone in the room from dying by an attack that would deal >10,000 damage. Only if their health is at 10,000 or higher.

Boss Abilities/Tactics:

You find Chimaeron lying on the ground asleep as you enter his chamber. To engage him you want to talk to Finkle Einhorn in the cage behind him.
The main mechanic of this fight deals with the Bile-o-tron which wanders around the room throughout the fight. While active, it will apply Finkle's Mixture on the raid, while you are above 10,000HP any attack will just reduce you down to 1HP. Therefore you have no reason to heal the raid over 10,000 (Except for one occasion)
You will need one main tank to take the normal melee hits of Chimaeron. They happen roughly every 5 seconds and deal a ton of damage. However, you only need to keep this tank up past 10,000HP like everyone else.
The tricky part of the tanking is having to deal with the Double Attack. Fairly often, Chimaeron will gain his double attack buff. Basically this is 2 attacks in quick succession… Roughly 2-3 tenths of a second behind one another. Virtually impossible to predict and time healing. Therefore you will have the off tank taunt when he gains this buff and tank the double attack. He needs to be topped off.
Throughout the fight, Chimaeron will actively cast Caustic Slime on 2 random raid members. It deals ~280,000 damage to each target (Split amongst those within range), however, while the Bile-o-tron is active, each will be reduced to 1 HP.
Along with Caustic Slime, Chimaeron will periodically cast Massacre, an ability that will reduce EVERYONE in the raid to 1 HP. When this happens, it weakens the Bile-o-tron. After a few massacres, it will have a System Failure for a short period of time while it Reroutes Power.
When the Bile-o-tron is inactive, Chimaeron’s heads will begin to Feud with one another rendering him unable to attack for ~30 seconds. While he is feuding however, Caustic Slime will still be cast. (At 15, 25, and 30 seconds into Feud) However, since the Bile-o-tron is inactive, it will kill any raid member instantly. Therefore, during Feud, the raid needs to stack on one another and use ALL healing possible to top each other off because you need to split the damage amongst everyone. He will end Feud with a Massacre at which time the Bile-o-tron will become active again.
The final mechanic of this fight happens at 20%, in which Chimaeron will enter Phase 2. At this time, Chimaeron will gain a Mortality buff which increases damage taken by him, and places a similar Mortality debuff on the raid members which reduces all healing effect by 99%. Burn him.

TO CLARIFY:

Break is not a healing taken debuff, however, it is a healing DONE debuff. This is to prevent Death Knight tanks from being completely overpowered in this boss fight. Although it increases damage taken, it's not really anything to worry about since he will only be reduced to 1HP at any given time.

Tips:

Only heal the raid to 10,000HP, except the Double Attack tank… top him/her off.
If you have a HPaladin, beacon the MT and spam heal the OT, with help from the other healers.
Vampiric Embrace is your friend.
Use Bloodlust at 20%.

25 - 2 Tanks, 5/6 Healers, 16/17 DPS

Before even thinking of engaging Chimaeron, you’ll need to talk to Finkle Einhorn. Doing so will activate something called the “Bile-O-Tron”. When the Bile-O-Tron (now known as the BOT) is active, you will gain a buff that is essential to this encounter. If you are over 10,000 hp and take a hit that will normally kill you, it will instead lower you to 1 health. What this means is if someone is over 10,000 hp, healing them any further is just wasted mana. The one exception to this rule is tank health for obvious reasons.

“Caustic Slime” is an ability used on 2/4 (10/25) raid members that deals 280k/320k (10/25) damage split between the people hit. As a raider, your initial instinct would be to stack up, but this is wrong. Due to the buff given by the BOT, you can greatly reduce the damage done by spreading out to reduce the number of people hit. In addition to the damage, people targeted by the slime will have their hit chance reduced for 3 seconds.

“Massacre” will hit everyone in the room for 900,000 damage. If you are over 10,000 hp, you live. If you aren’t, you die. It’s that simple. You will want to have 1/2 (10/25) healers dedicated to bringing your tanks health back up every time a massacre occurs. The rest of your healers should immediately start working on bringing the raid above 10,000.

Every third massacre will knock the BOT offline and transition you into phase two. During the second phase, Chimaeron will not melee the tank and instead his heads will channel “Feud” and fight each other for 30 seconds. After 15 seconds, Chimaeron will begin throwing caustic slime every 5 seconds until you transition back to phase 1 after 30 seconds.

Before I talk about the last phase, I want to go over some tank/healer specific abilities. “Break” is a stacking debuff placed on the current tank that increases physical damage taken by 25% and reduces healing taken by 25%. “Double Attack” is exactly what it sounds like.

Break sounds like just another tank swap ability, but it is infact much more than that. If a target has break on them when a double attack is used, they will first be reduced below 10,000 hp and then killed on the second attack. Essentially, you will want to have a break tank and a double attack tank. Your main tank will take the boss and all the stacks of break (which stacks to 4 by the way) and when a double attack is about to go off, your off tank will need to taunt the boss. After double attack is over, your main tank needs to taunt back ASAP to avoid your off tank from getting insta-gibbed.

At 20%, Chimaeron will enter phase two. You’ll be faced with a debuff called “Mortality” which reduces healing taken by 99%. You can’t do anything about it, so healers should just drop what they’re doing and dps. The boss also takes 20% increased damage and can't be taunted, so use ‘lust and all your cooldowns. Your tanks will die pretty quick, so your dps needs to look at the threat list to see who will be targeted next and prepare to kite him. Mages should blink/iceblock, hunters should disengage/deterrance, rogues should evasion tank, etc.

Restoration shamans really shine in this fight thanks to their mastery Deep Healing. Since the whole raid is very low on health for long periods of time you'll nearly always get the full benefit. Especially useful when dealing with feud.

On heroic mode he has two main changes.

He continues attacking and casting Double Strike while the Bile O' Tron is offline.

He also has a new spell called "Mocking Shadow" that does 1000 damage per second to everone in the raid from 25% health(after he stops casting Caustic Slime and Massacre.)

What's the word on this for disc priests? I imagine PW:S is useless on anyone but the tanks since the dmg bringing members down to 1hp can't be avoided?

Any idea if this boss is bugged? We attempted him last night but after every single massacre he'd go straight into a feud (no second or third massacre) pretty much making it nigh on impossible to heal properly.

Heroic changes:

When boss casts Feud, Nefa interrupts the cast after a few seconds, so Chimaeron continues to attack/double strike during the aoe fest, so save shield wall for it and keep the tank topped.

Also, when boss hits mortality (at 21%), Nefa channels a debuff called Mocking shadow to everyone, dealing 2k dps to the raid (debuff says 1k, but its 2k).

Only thing from normal that changes really is tanking and healing a bit. Once bot goes down for the first time, the tank with no stacks of break taunts the boss and keeps it (including double strikes) until the other tanks break stacks drop (when he starts taunting for DS's). After aoe phase ends, there will be a time when your current MT has 2-3 stacks of break and OT has 4 and Chimaeron gets double strike. When this happens, have a holy priest pop Guardian Spirit or prot pala use own cooldown to save tank death. Or just pray for avoidance.

Also, once you get close to 21%, make sure you heal everyone to full and then trigger p2, maximizing the time you can dps the boss due to mocking shadows killing you if you leave people at low hp.

Also to those who have already done it, have you experienced some oddities with Chimaeron melee damage? Usually, as a tank, he hits me for ~120k with no stacks of break (as a DK tank), but sometimes he just "decides" to hit me for 200k+ with 0 stacks of break, one shotting me unless I avoid it.

An easy way to do this is have a warlock summon void walker and use suffering to taut the boss when it double strike. Your void walker will die but can just summon another one. This effectively remove the need for an off tank and the heals needed on him.

As a tank my recommendations

Strikes will hit approximately 150k
with 1 debuff ~190k
with 2 debuff ~230k

Assuming you have no debuff and a double strike is incoming and u have 180k life
first hit will hit you 150k and ur life will be 30k
the second hit will hit you again 150k but robot will prevent u from dying because u have more than 10k life and ur life will be 1
therefore u must have more than 160k life to survive or be lucky and avoid one

after the 1st debuff i popped barkskin and after the 2nd debuff i popped survival instinct
after the 2nd debuff a double strike comes in a few seconds and after that massacre cast starts. Next, 3rd debuff comes and the other tank taunts and eats the next double strike

During feud first tank taunts again and after massacre cast everyone splits
I use barkskin after the first debuff and frenzied regen after 2nd debuff
After the second feud the boss will be around %25.and all ur cds will be up(except frenzied regen) let it cast massacre, heal up.
Than bloodlust. pop ur cds use agi pot and nuke. First tank will probably be dead and second tank will be using his cds after and boss will go down

We downed this guy last night after a few attempts. I personally found it to be a VERY fun fight. Lots of little fight gadgets and phases keep everyone on their toes.

A few things that may have contributed to our success:

- We have excellent healers. We went with 2 + a 3rd in offspec and after wrapping their minds around the whole 10k life thing they pwned it. Obviously this fight is their chance to shine so if your heals struggle then good luck.

- We have in our comp 2 Tranquilities and a Hymn. Not sure they're a must have but they sure help in the phases where you all stack up and top everyone off.

- I OT'ed this fight as Bear. A couple reasons why it might be the best class for this might be because I was able to throw a couple heals on myself after each Double Strike i ate to help ease Healer's mana-pains, and also because of the nature of my high avoidance we counted me dodging Double Strikes more times than I can remember.

- At 20% we tried kiting, sprinting, leaping etc to try and run from him while dps-burning him as some strats had suggested but gave up on that since his range was so massive. When we just simply stood and took it, with everyone pumping out the best they could the final phase was much simpler.

What's the cooldown on the Double Strike buff? If it's more than 30 seconds, it seems to me that you might be able to one-tank this if you had a DPS warrior dance to d-stance and Intervene for Double Strikes.

This might make the final phase more difficult though, as you'd only have one tank to burn through before Chimaeron started hitting DPS.

We had some issues with healers keeping raid up during feud but letting everyone use bandage asap during feud (stack on tank first) gave the raid 35k hp extra and the healers didnt have a hard time.

might be something to try if your guild struggle here.

Chimaeron Heroic 25 Changes:

(This post only explains the changes between normal and heroic. If you're looking for normal tactics, check out GraveDiggerX or Nethris's posts)

1. HP goes up from 90 million to ~127 million, but the enrage timer stays the same.

2. Obviously, Chimaeron will hit harder as well. It's useful to have 3 tanks, or 2 tanks and 1 plate dps (as seen in the tankspot video) to switch off aggro so break doesn't stack to unhealable levels.

3. Nefarian interrupts the feud phase, so healers will have to deal with double attack without Finkle's Mixture.

4. During Phase 3 (99% healing reduction), Nefarian will cast a debuff on the entire raid called mocking shadows, dealing 1-2k shadow damage per second. It is essential that the raid is topped off going into Phase 3.

Overall, this fight will really stress your healers. While hp has been increased, dps should be able to beat the enrage without too much trouble so long as everyone stays alive. It is extremely helpful to have more healers while learning this encounter.

Also, if anyone knows how much mocking shadows actually hits for, please comment. The tooltip says 1k but I've heard otherwise (2k).

A little tip for phase 2 for mages: save mirror images for when Chimaeron attacks you, they take your threat and they benefit from the +10k buff, so each mirror takes 2 hits before they die. Essentially giving you 30 seconds of time :)

If you play resto shaman as me and want to know how many heals you need to get them above 10 000 hp. They don't necessarily got 1 hp when you heal them, hots or what not might have healed them a little so you might not always need 2 heals, that is why I came up with this; yes I was very bored...

where;

h = Max health of the target
m = Mastery %
h = How hard your heal heals on a target with 100% health

For example;
I have 31% mastery, I assumed max health of 120 000 and my healing wave hits for ~6200 and I just put that in the formula and got c = 2014. That tells me that if the target is below 2014 I'm gonna need 2 heals else 1 healing wave is enough.

I assumed the mastery works linear, if the target has 0% health then I gain 100% of the mastery, if the target has 100% health I gain 0% of the mastery, if the target has 60% health I gain 40% of the mastery etc.

Chimaeron is classified as a beast, meaning that trolls deal 5% extra damage to him through Beast Slaying.

Only a few other raid bosses in WoW have been beasts so far (most notably Lurker Below, Maexxna and Northrend Beasts), so I'm glad to see another one :)

A few comments in regard to the 25m H version of the encounter. (some bits may apply to the regular mode as well)
The entire encounter is basically a 30 second rotation. (Even during fued the process repeats, just people are bunched to share the damage from the slimes)

0:00 - Massacre Hit everyone at 1 health.
0:15 - Slime hits 5 people.
0:20 - Slime hits 5 people.
0:25 - Slime hits 5 people.
0:26 - Massacre starts to cast.
0:30 - Massacre Hit everyone at 1 health.

What this means from a healing perspective is that you have 15 seconds of no raid damage(except tanks) after each massacre before the slimes hit. So thats 15 seconds to top the raid to above 10k health before the slimes start hitting. Can also use this timing to figure when it would be best to transition into the mortality phase. My guild tries to transition after the last massacre of a feud giving a 15 second window to get topped before the slimes hit.

Disc priests are very crucial for the mortality phase. Power Word: Shield can easily absorb the damage from nef's dot.

My guild was struggling with the heals, so we went to 4 heals and single tanked it. We were able to down him after a few attempts this way. Main tank was geared, but were able to do it.

Finkle: Leaping Leper Gnomes! You're a sight for sore eyes. I was worried the giant magma worm out front would deter visitors. Now that you're here you can give me a hand.

Player: I suppose you'll be needing a key for this cage? Wait, don't tell me. The horrific gibbering monster behind me ate it, right?

Finkle: What? Of course not! I could easily escape this simple contraption, but I'm much too busy. See, a while back I spent a few months inside the belly of a beast...

Player: You were trapped, as I recall. This situation seems oddly similar.

Finkle: It wasn't strictly voluntary, but I discovered something truly incredible. The beast seemed to be able to consume almost anything with no ill effects.

Player: Gnomes in Lava Suits, for example.

Finkle: Exactly. I ran some tests on the residual digestive fluid coating my suit and... <Finkle trails off> Say, you haven't seen my skinning knife anywhere, have you? I seem to have misplaced it.

Player: No, I, uh, haven't seen it. You were saying?

Finkle: Oh yes, the bile; it's amazing stuff. With the proper catalysts it renders anything to which it's applied practically immortal*. I've been harvesting it with my reprogrammed Bile-O-Tron 800 and I'm certain I've got the mixture right this time. I just need a few volunteers to test it out against a suitable creature. What do you say, friend?

*Immortality subject to certain restrictions.

Player: Restrictions? What restrictions?

(Continuing activates the Bile-O-Tron and shortly afterward starts the event)

Finkle: Oops! That lever activates the Bile-O-Tron. Oh, and if you happen to come across a key...

Just like you could probably MT with a ret pally if he can hold enough aggro since they should still be able to taunt.

This is such an interesting boss with interesting mechanics, why not try to use those mechanics to spice things up some?

Fourth, even theorycrafting that this would otherwise work, what is the benefit?

It would be easier on your healers since the OT could heal himself. Combined with a DPS as MT that can taunt in "DPS mode"(since all mitigation is basically worthless for the MT the only reason they exist in this fight is for threat) he could more than make up for the loss of dmg that having 2 tanks would be.

Again, just thinking of interesting ways to fight this guy since he has an interesting mechanic.

Warning! Do NOT use Misdirection or Tricks of the Trade on the tanks during this fight. It's a bad bad idea due to the threat decay buried into misdirect/ToT. Read this comment for more info.

The other person was a healer and I am a resto druid.

You need a Tank for the double strike, to be able to mitigate the first swing enough to be able to take the second one...

Also, Break affects only the main tank, reducing healing DONE for this reason alone, it is pointless to have a healer do this cause they will not be able to hold threat and healing themselves is worthless with this debuff. So you use a real tank, that has avoidance.

The offtank will not have break, however, this is the tank that will be taking the double attack. This tank has to have enough stam/mitigation to be able to survive one of the bosses attacks and still be over 10k hp. Less than half a second later he will be hit by the second swing of the double attack, and be reduced to 1hp, where the MT will taunt back. If you had a healer that could survive one hit from him(and be able to taunt) then it would be possible to do this. However, the chances of that are very slim, and it is MUCH more worth it to have an actual tank play this role, as he will have better stats to dodge/parry/mitigate.

Basically it is pointless to not have 2 tanks on this fight. Its how its designed.

We just killed Chimaeron on our first nights attempts on him in 10 man normal.

We were struggling, then we simply changed 1 dps to healing and 4 healed it and got him to 5%, next try we killed him. If you're confident in your raid's dps, 4 healing seems to make the fight very easy. Mana was no problem and we had the entire raid up and near full health before phase 2 started.

MT was a paladin, OT was a druid. Healers were druid on tanks and a holy priest and two holy pallies healing the raid.

Not suggesting this is a permenant solution, but using 4 healers is a good way to learn the fight before reducing back to 2-3 healers once Chimaeron is on farm.

So, in patch 4.1, we hunters can tame Hydras. Since Blizz made beast bosses who are part of tamable families tamable in 4.0.3, and Chimaeron is classified as a Hydra... Guess who we're taming next expansion and we can hit level 88 :)

Sorry, Chimaeron isnt level 88, hes a raid boss and raid bosses are never tameable.

Many raid bosses are already proven to be tameable. While their combat functions differently as a boss (they are treated as 3 levels over the player for things like dodge, resist, miss chance, etc.,) they do have a real level and sometimes are left as tameable for future expansion fun. This includes things classified in the database as either a "Level ?" Boss or a skull Elite from prior raid tiers, classic or expansion.

Here are some examples of currently tameable raid boss beasts:

The majority are from level 60 raids (Primarily Core Hounds or Silithids.) This list doesn't include even more dungeon bosses from 5-man content (such as King Dred.)

I'd like to confirm that these trinkets can be very effective. As a tank on this encounter I was able to extend my life significantly during the berserk phase through these methods (given that his melee attack is extremely slow):

As the off-tank absorbing Double Attack, I went into the Mortality/Mortality phase with full health (my healers had been keeping me topped off.)
This meant survival abilities (as a Warrior: Shield Wall, Shield Block, and as a Dwarf: Stoneform) could allow me to actually survive a few melee attacks while staying above 10,000 HP
The first time I was dropped below 10k, I used Last Stand which put me up over 50k
The next time I dropped below 10k I used Darkmoon Card: Earthquake as recommended by other posters here, this put me over 10k again
I took one more hit which put me under 10k again, and died on the following hit.
A rogue was next on threat and used evasion as we got our final 2% for the kill.

I do not know the effectiveness of the following items through my own testing, but they may work:

Again, as mentioned earlier, the Mortality debuff operates differently than you may be used to, so some of these abilities work (which may have failed in other similar healing-debuff encounters.)

While off-tanking I noticed that, while I try to Taunt for Double Attack, it is often interrupted by his Massacre cast and never hits. Because of this timing, he ended up skipping every second or third Double Attack altogether.

I don't know if this is intentional, bugged, lucky, or my misinterpretation of events.

A tip to holydins: Pop your guardians during feud.
My divine lights were healing the entire raid for apparoximately 5k each, meaning that in a 25 man raid, its quite easy to do around 400k healing in 10 seconds, of the 15 that feud is an issue.

We had 4 holy pallys in our raid, so we rotated this, 2 per feud.
We only got 3 feuds thanks to our raid having kick ass dps and the other healers were very grateful, since they could save their cooldowns for the third.

Also, for reference, we used the strategy where we stacked all the breaks on one tank (a warrior) and our pally tank, took all the double attacks.

As a holy padain, I'm wondering if their mastery will still work during Chimaeron's beserk phase. Even though the heal doesnt "go through" youll still get the shield effect. Or maybe it's not even worth it, but better to just help DPS.

Dropped this boss last night and from what I can tell from recount I did about 100k dmg in about ~35secs it took to finish the boss off. Compared to spamming Divine Light to get a 4-5k shield on a tank.

On our first successful attempt, warrior tank stayed up for about 20 seconds in phase 3 by heroic leaping and then intervening a priest. When Chimaeron got back to him, paly tank bubbled. Hunter kited for a few seconds and died, and then paly tank popped DR cooldowns to survive the rest of the fight.

If we hadn't already used a battle res or if the hunter had feigned sooner, we would have had the achievement, but we were quite happy to get this boss down. Of course the warrior tank got a lot of praise for his great work.

With more and more guilds getting into hard modes, I thought I'd share this.

Subtlety rogues are insane for this fight. By nature of the rotation, sub rogues need to keep up Recuperate for 100% of the time for max DPS because of the talent Energetic Recovery. The self-healing makes it a lot easier on the healers during the massacre phase. During feud, sub can naturally take 10 to 30% less damage thanks to this talent, plus feint, which means they take 60 to 80% less overall damage taken during feud and making it that much easier on the healers. A max DPS spec can take 1 point, and in order to get all 3 points the rogue would have to sacrifice only 1-1.5% of his overall damage.

Alternatively, you can have a rogue take Cheat Death instead of Enveloping Shadows (taking both is not recommended), and have him stand away from the stacked raid when Feud starts. If Chimaeron chooses to shoot his caustic slime at the rogue, he will be saved by cheat death and the rest of the raid won't take any damage. After the rogue gets targeted he runs back into the raid to get heals so he doesn't get 1 shot if he's targeted again. This is obviously a lot better than option 1 but it requires some luck since Chimaeron might not shoot the rogue every feud, although from my experience he seems to prefer to shoot non-stacked targets. The other main advantage to having rogues is that they can of course evasion tank, as well as vanish and kite with sprint.

There are only two downsides to subtlety. One, the rotation is complicated, and if your rogues haven't played sub it's gonna take them a couple attempts to learn. Two, if you can't be behind the boss to backstab it does much less DPS than the other two specs. Blizzard realized this though, and when Chimaeron goes to feud his hitbox reverses. Yes, that means you can backstab his face when your raid stacks up. Once he starts casting massacre it goes back to normal though, so get behind him quick.

I don't know what this is supposed to mean..
Finkle is the robot walking next to Chimaeron. If you'd tame Chimaeron I don't see why you'd automatically tame Finkle too, since he's already friendly as well.
Noteworthy is that Finkle's Mixture can't bring your health below 1 (aka kill you) IF you have more than 10k health. So hypothetically, this would be really useful against Execute, Kill Shot etc.

Hunters, During the feud stage, make sure you use you "Aspect of The Wild" You will reduce the amount of damage the Caustic Slime does by approximately 25%. This will help your healers greatly!

This fight is great for Affliction warlocks. If you use Drain Life as your filler spell rather than Shadow Bolt your healers should be able to pretty much ignore you for most of the fight.

I was doing ~2.5k hps and whilst that's low compared to the healers it's all self healing rather than spread across the raid

Also Soulshatter is a great help during the last phase. After taking a hit from Chimaeron and being reduced to 1hp use Soulshatter and let him go smash someone else. This should buy a few more valuable seconds.

Say hello to one of the more stressful fights to heal in the current content. Actually one of the easiest fights to heal, Chimaeron is stressful because we, as healers, really don't like to see all those low bars. However, experience and confidence in your strategy can mitigate this.

There are a variety of ways of dealing with this fight, so I will only cover the basics. I will assume that you will have two tanks and they will either be switching at certain stacks of the debuff or (and I recommend this strategy and will be talking about tank healing with this strategy in mind) one tank will be reserved to taunt and eat the double attack.

In either case, this is actually a fight in which I do NOT recommend that your tank heal. Our heals are focused on prevention and Chimaeron demands direct healing. Depending on your raid comp, it would be ideal for a Holy Priest, Resto Druid, or Holy Pally to take the tanks. A Holy Priest/Restro Druid can keep HoTs rolling on the tank who is currently tanking while using their spare time to get the other tank back to full. A Holy Pally can beacon the main tank and, while healing the other tank back to full, also heal the main tank up. If you have to heal the tanks (and I have downed him twice as the tank healer before the Resto druid and I realized it was more efficient to switch roles), keep a PW:S on the tank eating the double attack and use your Penance and Flash Heal to get the main tank back up while using Prayer of Mending and Greater Heal on the off-tank.

Ideally, however, you will be healing four of the raid members, including yourself. You should simply use Flash Heal. Normally, I shudder to think of using such an inefficient heal. However, for this fight, it has what you need. Greater heal takes longer to cast, for the same mana, and more healing. However, as you only need everyone but the off-tank above 10k to survive, the extra healing is a waste and the extra cast time will get people killed. Just Flash Heal. :P

The offlines, while stressful, are easily heal-able with a good cool-down rotation. Just last night, my guild downed this guy after surviving FOUR offlines in a row! What you need to do is:

Cast Power Word: Barrier for the first offline. Wait until the last second (DBM gives you a timer). This will make sure it eats all the poison spits and gives you all that extra healing. A rough estimate of the timer is that you can get one prayer of healing off after stacking before you need to cast the barrier. Spend the rest of your time prayer of healing/PW:S people.

For the second off-line, use your Divine Hymn in conjunction with another strong cool-down like Tranquility.

For the third off-line (there may be no third, there may be a fourth RNG is RNG), your Power Word: Barrier should be off of cool-down (which is why you use it early).

I would Shadow fiend on the first offline and, if necessary, Hymn of Hope after an offline finishes. You have about 10-15 seconds after an off-line before he starts spitting again.

For the final phase...burn him?

I dont believe that nobody mentioned that the best tank for this boss is Death Knight as with his
Death Strike And talent specced for it.

He can self heal for a pretty high average HPS. Just think that when chimareon double strikes the DK the tank takes an average let's say 200k dmg, if he uses his self ability he can take up to 60k health back, maybe the values are not that true but you got the message.

@DuffHB, why he should use the buggy heroic leap and not just intervene on a friendly target ? >.<

I have been noticing something interesting in our guild's fights against Chimaeron. My spells seem to miss sometimes against him even though i maintain my hit rating above the cap (1742). I don't notice this problem against any other raid boss we have encountered.

I really felt it when I missed with one of my combustions :(

Later I did some checking around on World of Logs with other casters and it seems that other hit-capped casters are also missing against Chimaeron and not against other bosses.

Perhaps this is a preview of how the hit cap will be raised against future raid bosses...

In heroic, when Bile-O-Tron fails, here's what I do as the Double Strike tank:

I stack with others.
I activate Bone Shield.
I activate Vampiric Blood. Both Bone Shield and Vampiric Blood have one-minute cooldowns and should always be available.
When Chimaeron gains the Double Strike buff, I taunt then repeatedly Death Strike, using Blood Tap if necessary after the first Strike.
When the Feud-only tank (who has Intervened on me during Double Strike, as I discuss elsewhere) taunts back the boss, I stop attacking for a moment to make sure I don't pull aggro.

This is the tactic my guild uses for the healing (normal mode), and it works very good (also very easy):

- Have 1 resto shaman (in this case me)
- The resto shaman ALWAYS keeps a healing rain up at the same spot, position it like this:
N = Boss
NNE = Tank 1
NNW = Tank 2
Center = Resto shaman
- the 2 other healers and 3 more dps'ers also position yourself inside this circle whilst keeping 6yards between eachother.
- The 2 last dps'ers, one of them is on the left side of the boss, the other on the right side of the boss (so outside the circle)
- The only thing the resto shaman does is refreshing healing rain when possible
- Let the other 2 healers deal with getting the 2 DPS outside of the circle to 10k+ and topping the double attack tank.
- At the offline phase, everyone stacks at the N of the circle, shaman starts spamming chain heal like crazy, other do their aoe aswell
- Repeat this until you enter P2

Healing rain should get people over 10k in 2-3 ticks, together with earthliving this is more then enough. Together with a (glyphed for offline mode) healing stream totem.

As a Resto druid I concur. This fight definitely favors raid healers who have instant healing spells available to them. While healers may struggle adjusting to seeing low HP bars, I think raid leaders also struggle throwing out the typical healing conventions for this encounter.

A resto druid as a tank healer, wut? Here is why it works: sometimes a Caustic Slime will go out mere seconds before a Massacre occurs. Druids only have two instant direct heals, Swiftmend (requires a pre-existing HoT) and a spell cast with Nature's Swiftness (3min CD). Neither of these are great options for us. When I'm assigned to a group that has two players hit by a slime, right before a massacre goes out, I'm in trouble. By the time my rejuv is cast and gets off a tick, they're usually dead.

So raid leaders, please follow ZelosRaine's advice and let us tank heal. With a Lifebloom and Rejuv ticking they will be just fine (a pally can Beacon for extra buffer as well). This isn't very strenuous or mana intensive, so in my group I'll also keep Wild Growth and Rejuv going out for spot heals.

P.S. Glyph of Regrowth is OP in this fight. Just don't use it to make the meters look good, place it strategically when you get a Clearcasting proc.

Using a DPS who can taunt as the main tank is a nice strategy for this boss, since their DPS will usually be much higher than a normal tank's. I routinely tank this as my Frost DK (one of our regular tank eats the Double Attacks) and it works fine. Healing me isn't an issue since healers just have to top me up past 10k, and with Glyph of Dark Succor I help them out with occasional Death Strikes.

Also, the fight moves much faster, since you are freeing your regular tank up to DPS. For us, instead of having our Warrior tank doing 10k and our Frost DK doing 20k (random numbers for simplicity), we end up with a Frost DK tank doing 16-18k and our Warrior DPS doing 20k, while sacrificing nothing. It's by far the easiest way we've found to do this fight.

for sure, you don't need two real tanks to do this fight; only the double-strike tank needs to be in tank gear and spec. any of the following works just fine for MT duty because they have threat multipliers available to them and taunts:

ret pally with RF on (no dps loss, except for parries)
DPS DK in blood presence (10%+ dps loss due to presence)
furry warrior in defensive stance (10% dps loss due to stance)
arms warrior in defensive stance (20%+ dps loss due to stance and losing OP)

Note to all classes - abilities and effects which temprorarily increase your maximum health (and therefore also your current health) are NOT considered heals but presumably still let you apply to Finkle's Mixture. This means you can use them to get back above Finkle's Mixture requirement after being at 1 health in order to survive one extra attack before dying in phase 2.

Unless it's a ret pally MTing, chances are warriors and death knights would be better off doing it in tank spec with DPS gear due vegeance stack maxing. The exception is if it's heroic and they would normally be the highest DPS, in which case you will want them in DPS spec and gear to be rezzed after dying the first time in phase 2.

For Holy Paladins:
TLDR: Beacon the tank soaking Double Attack and focus on topping them while keeping the tank with Break above the 10k threshold.

So if you have a raid leader whose extent of mechanics explanation consists of: "So the boss does this thing you need to watch out for, don't die = win" you might have been confused as to why you were wiping constantly despite everyone doing what they're supposed to. I hope I can clarify a bit with some revelations on this fight.

If it helps you at all to have new fight mechanics related to old fight mechanics, think of this as similar to a Patchwerk fight as the tank healer, with something like Decimate as the raid healer.

First off, some basics:
Phase 1

Before the fight starts, place a world marker on top of(in the middle of) the larger head as a stack point for Feud. As a Holy Paladin you want to be on this spot constantly so you can melee Chimaeron during the lull in healing between Break and Double Attack switches.

The reason Holy Paladins can afford to be in melee range constantly during Chimaeron fights is Seal of Insight, it literally can be your top mana regeneration tool the whole fight, especially if you are casting Judgement every cooldown(which you should be).

The tanks will be switching control of Chimaeron constantly for the duration of Phases 1 and 2.
Tank A will be main tanking Chimaeron when the fight starts, so will be accumulating Break stacks. Tank B will be off tanking when the fight starts and will be soaking Double Attack. At 3 stacks of Break on Tank A the roles will switch. So now Tank B is getting Break while Tank A is soaking Double Attack.

As a Holy Paladin you will want to Beacon the current off tank. Since they are soaking the Double Attacks they can be killed if not topped off, despite Finkle's Mixture. Tower of Radiance is a godsend on this.

Throughout the fight Chimaeron will cast Massacre, similar to the old Decimate, but thanks to Finkle's Mixture the raid won't die as long as they're healed above the 10k hit point threshold, excluding the current off tank soaking Double Attack, top them off.

As the tank healer you shouldn't have to worry about this too much on the raid, that's what raid heals are for. But for the tanks, heal the current main tank above the threshold and top the current off tank. You also really shouldn't seriously worry about yourself, even if you get hit with Caustic Slime, because of Protector of the Innocent.

Phase 2

Chimaeron will start channeling Feud, simply stay on the collapse point. Then everyone else will spread out again, you stay on the collapse point.

This is when you want to burn your cooldowns for AoE healing. Save Avenging Wrath and Divine Favor for when raid heals are struggling if you can. Holy Radiance, however, should be used every Feud.
If you can, try and time Holy Radiance where you can get a couple ticks off after the Massacre that immediately follows Feud.
For teh lulz: if, for some gawd-awful reason, you have Light of Dawn and saved up three Holy Power, you can use that to help top some people off after that Feud/Massacre combo.

Pretty simple fight. Start up the bile-o-tron and get Pip's Mixture, and spread out within 6 yards of each other. Tanks should discuss when to taunt off of each other based on the gear and skill of the tanks/healers. 3 stacks of Break is the standard, but 2 stacks is doable. Heals need only to keep people above 10k, don't worry about topping off anyone except tanks. After he does Massacre stack up for AOE heals, then spread out again before he does another Caustic Slime. After Systems Failure and Feud, remain stacked up to spread the effects of Caustic Slime, since you no longer have Finkle's mixture. Repeat until 20%, when phase 2 begins, and heals become useless and you basically pop everything and burn him down.

Duo:ed this with my sister at L90 - Prot warrior with DPS gear (1h+shield though) and Holy priest. We stayed stacked up the whole fight, first couple of tries she died from getting multiple caustic slimes on her but once we stacked it worked fine. Last 20% were mental.

Soloed him in 10man normal today as 562 ilvl fire mage.

Glyphs used:

Ladies and gentlemen prepare yourselves. After over year long search I have finally found fight where fire mage wants to take Rune of Power over the other two "amazing level 90 talents".

Because of Pip's Mixture you only have to have over 10k hp to survive any of his attacks. As long as you have over 500k max hp glyphed Rune of Power will always get you healed over that limit between his basic attacks. Double Attack will be only ability that can kill you before hitting P2.

Start boss by talking to Pip Quickwit run back to the stairs drop Rune of Power each side of the stairs around 40 yards apart, Potion of the Jade Serpent, precast Pyroblast, Time Warp and build up using Alter Time but do NOT use Mirror Image!

At this point you have to track 2 abilities boss has. Just before his Massacre cast goes off use your This will lead to massive HoT and will keep you alive for the short duration that Pip's Mixture is disabled.

Second and most dangerous skill is Double Attack. I couldn't find DBM timer or any other timer to see when it will come, but you can see the buff he gets ~3 seconds before the actual strike. Just take the first one if you still have ~260k hp or more otherwise you should use your Ice Block to survive.

At 20% hp boss will go to P2 and will gain Mortality and Mortality. Drop your Mirror Image, Blink twice towards the second Rune of Power (it wont keep you alive anymore but 15% damage will help) you planted on pull and finish boss off before he comes and gets you.

So, this is how I did it without the Tactic because it doesn't work anymore 'cause heals far too less.

You will need this macro to get rid of extra healing:
/cancelaura Renew
/cancelaura Echo of Light
Use this macro every time you healed yourself with Renew or Prayer of Mending.

Basics: Stay above 10k Health at all costs. Stay as close to 10k (10001 Health would be perfect) as you can get.
At the beginning of the fight do dps without healing / shielding yourself. As soon as you drop to 1HP use Renew, the initial tick will get you above 10k Health, use the macro(!). Now cast Power Word: Shield and afterwards Prayer of Mending as a backup. Now your health is around 12k Health (with my gear).

Now the fight can start (:
#1
Use Power Word: Shield as often as you can.
Everytime you cast it use Prayer of Mending right after it.
There may be times when your Power Word: Shield drops and Prayer of Mending will be triggered. If so use the macro again to get rid of Mastery: Echo of Light, wait till you drop to 1HP and use Renew followed by the macro again until you can recast your Power Word: Shield.
So your health is above and close to 10k? Power Word: Shield is up and Prayer of Mending too?
DPS him until you can recast your Power Word: Shield. Then do #1 all over again.

#2
As soon as the boss starts to channel Feud you can DPS him without healing / shielding yourself and ignore everything else.
Around 3sec before Feud ends do #1 again.
If you geht him close to 20% stop with damage at 21%-25%.
If he is channeling Feud at that time just wait until 3sec are left und start with #1 again.
If he isn't then just wait and do nothing except #1 (without damaging him) until he starts casting it again. And therefore 3sec before it ends #1 again.
So Feud is over and the boss is close to 20%? Kill him! #3
(You have to do this because during his Feud-Phase you will not have Pip's Mixture on you. And if he cancels it because auf dropping below 20% he will hit you without that buff -> he kills you.)

Just go on with #1 and if you can time it use Mindbender (and Power Infusion if glyphed) to finish him off.
Renew doesn't work here, only Power Word: Shield and Prayer of Mending but at that point of the fight it shouldn't matter anymore.

Sideinfo: Why this weird tactic and all?
He will always hit you two times for around ~130-260k and the third hit is a double-hit (Double Attack).
As long as you are above 10K Health you can not get killed because of Pip's Mixture.
Lets say you are at 12k Health and he hits you. You will drop to 1Health -> You only took 11999 Damage.
This damage is completely absorbed by your shield. And if your shield absorbs 84k Damage -> It will absorb 7 Hits before is wears off.
Prayer of Mending is only a backup for the one case, where the first hit of Double Attack will remove the shield and the instant 2nd hit normally kills you. PoM will heal you up before the 2nd hit, that is all.
And that is the only point where your shield is on CD, PoM has been triggered and you are at 1Health.
Now kicks Renew in to bring you instant above 10k. New Shield, new absorb .. there you go.

The only tricky thing is the beginning of the fight where you have to try to get your health down to 10k.
If you do the start properly you will sit for the rest of the fight at ~12k (whatever your initial renew tick is).

Hunters: as of WOD, Hydras will be tamable. Jeremy Feasel has stated that "He is tameable... with some caveats. Delve into the Depths of Blackwing and find out for yourself in #warlordsofdraenor :)".

He then hinted it will be harder than Deth'tilak. We will have our work cut out for us.

Wanna tame him? Keep your current pet out (so you don't die), get him to about 20% (kill shot range), pop deterrence, dismiss pet, and start taming. Assuming you lived, grats on your beautiful (hideous) new pet. :D

As of the WoD pre-patch chimaeron is tameable bye hunters.
He can hit pretty hard but all you need to do is bring him below 20% and tame.

Finally tamed this sucker after waiting since Cata. Timelessish LFRish gear.

Kept dying at first because I'd get him below 20% and then muck around with trying to dismiss my current pet, who was usually dead.

Eventually went survival and didn't summon a pet. Specced Stampede and misdirected to one of them at the start, they tanked it long enough for me to get it low. Keep in mind you can be above 10k as a safety net, but it can kill you if he gets double attack. (You have to activate the safety measures by talking to the gnome). If you see the double attack buff on Chimaeron, deterrence before he hits you.

Anyway, the biggest concern was mainly not killing him accidentally. I got him to 0.5% once and managed to reset him before my DoT ticked luckily.

Quick strat:
1)Survival/Marksman with tame beast glyph, exhilaration and stampede
2)Dismiss pet
3)Talk to the gnome to activate safety measures.
4) Stampede and misdirect to one of the stampede pets
5) Damage to 20%, deterrence and cast tame beast.

Just went in to tame this awesome beast and I had no difficulty taming him. I'm a BM and didn't summon no pet at all. First I took off my legendary cape so I wouldn't do aoe damage to him, I almost screwed up the first time because of that. Second, I used a fire trap and just kited him around the room until he was low at 20 percent. Then I popped up deterrence and hit tame and boom, he's mine. Using a pet is optional though I wouldn't recommend it, just my opinion. Good luck to those who tame him =) it's easy, shouldn't be hard at all.

Taming Chimaeron prevents you from killing Nefarian as Chimaeron is still treated as not defeated.

If you want chimaeron bear that in mind if you are with others.

Remember he must be at 20 percent or lower to tame him but then he starts to hit real hard so pop deterence then tame.

Use the tame glyph to speed things up and enjoy your new monstrosity lol

I tamed him as MM without using a pet. With recent hotfixes I burned all cooldowns from the start, got him to under 20%, popped Deterrence and tamed.

A note for any Death Knights soloing this. If you specced Purgatory, Chimaeron's Massacre will bring you to 1 HP but will not trigger your Shroud of Purgatory if you talked to Pip Quickwit before the fight to use his Bile-O-Tron 800's Pip's Mixture. Taking any damage afterwards will trigger it, however, so it gives you a longer than usual amount time to bounce back from being reduced to 1 HP.

If you are in a group (or alone) and need to finish the whole dungeon, switch from 25 man to 10 man to tame him, and when you go out to set it back to 25 man, he will respawn so you can continue to do the rest of the instance. Just confirmed it myself 2 min ago. Wanted to post this as fast i could since ive seen people say that you cant finish BWD after, or that you can wait outside for a reset of some sorts that take half an hour. Anyways, happy taming all! :)

If you're trying to tame this guy, be carefull with your damage! I used all my CDs, as a previous commenter suggested, and he died shortly before the tame got through because my crows were happily pecking away on him :-(

TL;DR: don't use murder of crows when wanting to tame him

Tamed as BM hunter.

Talk to caged prisoner, get robot buff, wait for chimaeron to attack, misdirection on tank pet, used pet ability last stand (not sure if it helped), blitz down to 600k health, dismiss pet, deterence, tame.

My biggest problem is killing him too fast in 10N. Fortunately, I just watch my own damage and dismissed my pet near 20% of boss health. Naturally, you'll need to have the tame pet glyph to help out on the taming.

My hunter is 541 ilvl, I accidentally killed him last week trying to tame because I used my pet to start and used Stampede too late; dismissed the pet but Stampede had enough time left to destroy him alone.

This week, I immediately started with Stampede, did not have my pet out. Kited while I lowered his health, and Stampede wore off with him ready to tame. Simple Deterrence while Taming (glyphed) and he was mine.

For hunters that are looking to tame, it is very solable at 90 . He needs to be down to 20% to tame, the hardest part is making sure you don't kill him...don't be afraid to FD if it doesn't look like you'll make it, he'll reset shortly.

I did it in BM spec, used my pet to tank. You want to burn him down as fast as you can, to beat massacre . Keep heals on pet until this time , then dismiss, hit deterrence and tame .

I was having some real problems trying to solo this on 10 Heroic on my brewmaster monk. However I was able to do it by using Invoke Xuen, the White Tiger after boss casts Massacre. This gave me an off tank for a few secs which made the diff.

If you're having trouble winning the dps race before Massacre, then (obviously buff yourself up as much as possible) and for me throwing down Drums of Rage made the difference.

Fairly easy on 25man heroic solo Feral Druid 642 iLevel at level 100.

Must be careful about massacre and have a flash heal ready or you may get killed from low health.

Tip for first timers like me: sneak behind him and talk to the gnome, he activates a bot that keeps you from dying from Massacre, instead bringing you to 1 hp. Be prepared to heal your buns off.

eventually got this on my prot pally i kept just dpsing and wasnt paying attn once hes below 20% you are screwed unless you can dps fast enough to live through it with no health ,I popped all cds and was lucky i would suggest slow dpsing after like 30-40% % in the hopes of taking a massacre then LOH to full health then dps fast and use cds only if needed.

Taming at level 100:

You don't need a healer. You don't need any help. You definitely don't need to stampede (Like I did first try, and wound up having to wait a week because my lovely pets killed it.)

What you do need:

Barrage
Glyph of tame beast (optional)

You can talk to Finkle, though personally I didn't need to as it turns out.

Cast barrage, maybe an auto attack or two, then tame.

I have a real soft spot for the unwanted/"ugly" animals that get looked over at shelters or are strays and such. This guy made me think of those kinds of critters, so I added him to my hunter's stable.

He's become one of my favorites.

Easy tame at 100, just be careful about overdoing it with damage, and definitely use the gnome's help just to be sure you don't get destroyed by Massacre. Having a few high end health pots are a plus as well.

Went to tame it today, took all my armour off but used legacy bow and one shot it with aimed shot.

seeing as theres no update on this thread since 7.0 hes still tameable as of 8.0.1, and stripping down at 110 or going in naked isnt necessary, i used crows and a couple cobra shots to weaken him enough to tame it at i211 :)

If you tame Chimaeron then you have to leave the raid instance and re-enter if you want Nefarion to spawn. A green orb will load the next time you enter the instance and you click it to summon the final boss.

TAMING CHIMAERON AT LEVEL 120 FOR BEAST MASTER HUNTER 1-10-2020

1. Remove all your armor till your ilevel is about 130. this made it go slow enough that i didn't have to worry about killing him before he got down to under 20% health. i removed any armor with unpredictable procs and my weapon.
2. Talk to gnome at back of room. This keeps massacre from killing you when it hits if it does. For me it did and i just spammed my healing button and healed right away from the 1 hit point it leaves you at.
3. i just used auto attack to attack with, no weapon. Once he is under 20% health you can tame. When he got to that point i hit the Esc button to stop attacking.
4. Click on Tame Beast.

Now you have your Chimaeron hunter pet.

Just tamed this guy as a 68 Hunter. Was totally naked and each punch did 10-20% HP. Took him to 10% and successfully tamed.

Pip Quickwit – Pip Quickwit, gnome explorer extraordinare, has been captured by Nefarian and cannot be freed from his cage until Chimaeron is slain. A player can talk to Pip before the fight begins to convince him to activate his Bile-O-Tron, which helps keep the raid alive. Activating the Bile-O-Tron also wakes Chimaeron.
- Bile-O-Tron – When Pip activates the Bile-O-Tron, it moves about the room and sprays raid members with Pip's Mixture as long as it is active. Chimaeron periodically knocks the Bile-O-Tron offline.
  - Pip's Mixture – The Bile-O-Tron sprays Pip's Mixture on the raid while online. Pip's Mixture prevents players whose health is above 10% from dropping below 1 health.

Stage One: Truly Something to Behold

Chimaeron attacks his current target with Break and Double Attack, while continually spraying Caustic Slime at the raid. He periodically casts Massacre on the raid, and his heads sometimes Feud following a Massacre.

Caustic Slime – Chimaeron lobs Caustic Slime at two random players. Each Caustic Slime inflicts (100% of Spell power) Nature damage, divided evenly among all players within 6 yards of the target. Caustic Slime also reduces chance to hit by 75% for 2.5 sec.
In 25 player raids Chimaeron lobs Caustic Slime at five random players.
Massacre – Chimaeron hits all players for massive damage, probably killing anyone not under the effects of Pip's Mixture.
Massacre sometimes knocks the Bile-O-Tron offline for a short period of time.
Feud – Whenever Chimaeron knocks the Bile-O-Tron offline, his two heads begin to argue with each other, preventing Chimaeron from perfoming melee attacks for 30 sec.
In Heroic Difficulty Lord Victor Nefarius orders Chimaeron to stop his bickering, ending Feud after only 2 seconds.
Break – Chimaeron attacks viciously, breaking through his target's defenses and increasing their Physical damage taken by 25% and reducing healing done by 15% for 1 min. This effect stacks.
Double Attack – Chimaeron strikes twice with his next attack.

Stage Two: A Horrific Creation

At 20% health Chimaeron goes into a rage. This renders him immune to Taunt effects and greatly decreases healing done by players.

Mortality – Chimaeron goes into a rage, rendering him immune to Taunt effects. In addition, he reduces healing effects done to players by 99%.
In 10 player raids Chimaeron takes 10% increased damage while Mortality is active.
Double Attack – Chimaeron strikes twice with his next attack.
Mocking Shadows – Lord Victor Nefarius inflicts 2 Shadow damage every second to all players.
