run with as few people as possible for mythic end boss mounts since they get rolled per kill rather than per player

my big mistake was not running firelands on each difficulty
other tips:try to run solo for most mounts as to not lower your chances. exceptions to this are mounts that drop right to your bags like gmod and sanctum gloomcharger. run dragon soul on heroic. you only need to get 1 blood to make the amalgamations go into nuke mode. normal still requires 9 each. also, after third boss, jump from the top of tower and die. when you go back up, eye of eternity portal will be open so you skipped that bit of rp. icc has the dh/evoker/parasol toy skips id recommend searching up. alternatively, theres a lockout trick you can do that still works. instructions are in a video by warcraft wanderer on youtube. havent tried it but dh/evoker also have a way to skip most of ulduar. no questing is required to enter nyalotha when the entrance is in uldum (which i believe it is now). vale entrance is the one that requires many quests.if you use the skip to go straight to jaina and kill her, you wont be able to go back to kill other bosses. will edit if i think of more
should also mention that GMOD Is soulbound so even if you were doing it to help a friend get the mount, you can't trade it :(
A mistake I made. I did Dragon Soul with my friend (I don't need any mounts so I was just going to trade them to him), Handmaiden dropped at the end for me. Except I couldn't loot it as I had an extra one in my bank still from when I farmed Blazing Drake years ago. So there I was, unable to delete the one in my bank, but also unable to loot it because of its unique tag. As the moment I hearth out to delete the one in my bank, it would get mailed to me and lose the ability to be traded. Oops.
So really this isnt top 5 mistakes, but top 5 mounts people messed up on. As this only really has two mistakes. 1: check its the right boss. 2: check its the right difficulty
I'm not wasting time for green infernal, because Legion Remix is coming, and (I hope) I will be able to just buy that mount for Bronze.
The big one that shocked me is that you can vendor the Shackled Ur'zul if you're not careful, even if you don't already have it. And, to add insult to injury, it sells for a single copper. Be very careful and check your bags after any boss that drops a mount, I damn near vendored a mount I'd been chasing for years.
Mythic jailer mount is a shared roll so solo it. i ran it 75 times in a big raid, drops lots but only ever 1 per raid. ran it 12 times on my own (that's how i got it, solo). For some reason near the end when i was kinda warning players i got alot of hate for it but w.e lol its the truth.Don't waste your time :3
Don't farm in groups with people who don't have the mount you want for push mounts, like allseer and jailer.
The biggest mistake is wasting time on farming these mounts in the first place.
