Just want to note that no existing items have had price increases.The product team though has been hearing the feedback and it may take a little bit but there will be some more discounted items available in the coming weeks/months and we have some changes to announce regarding some other items like the Portal Pack here soon.

Aside from that, the cosmetic price issue is a symptom to a larger issue. People wouldn’t be so torn from the shop prices if there was enough really cool cosmetics close-to or of similar quality from in-game grinding or even from the battle pass.

All in all, if the cosmetic diversity is increased through multiple fronts, especially with an emphasis of gameplay rewarded cosmetics… some of these shop cosmetics could become more appealing because say the chest piece of one of these bundles work really well with a mog someone wants to build. Which this could then create a whole new transmog-“end-game” similarly to what WoW or FF XIV has.Comment by voreoId argue just discounting Platinum and often would fix the issue.

There are some of those that I aggree could be free and those are the ones that are the cheapest in the shop, because those are more reskin of gear you can get in the game. Although I see that they stopped doing cosmetic like these.

I think the shop should get some changes, but not what some people say (its existence, because I don't see the problem about the presence of a cosmetic shop in a game, and its price, because I won't argue about how it cost to make those cosmetic. If they eventually make it cheaper, I'm fine. If not, then I wouldn't be mad). I might post my suggestions an another time.

So about discount, I hope they do it for at least the 2 first bundles (thunder horse and class portals), because tbh they are really not worth. The crystal horse bundle at least is more worth, because despice the price, the platinum you get make it that the horse is free and the cosmetic itself is really great (and just to note, no I didn't buy it because its not my style).
The thunder horse is really cool with the lightning going throught his body, but not only you get so low number of platinum for its price, but the moment you put an armor in it, you hide its best asset, making it less worth. I don't know if he has a visual effects in game, but does it make it more worth? I don't know.
The portal bundle is the worse of them. Not only the platinum you get is once again too low, but the portals are class locked! Portals from the pass are better, so thats a good reason for people to be mad at it. I hope the changes will make it more worth, probably getting more platinum from it.

Imo, the best bundles are those that give currency equal to the price you paid for it, because it make the cosmetic in it like a free gift. For those who just want the cosmetic, I think the best trade would be to make it available in the shop after the bundle end.Comment by fathom81Discounted? You're charging $25 for a skin in an arpg. Your price is so high that your customers actually stop to think about the purchase. That's bad business. Why should I pay $25 for this when for a few dollars more I can have a whole other game like Palworld, Last Epoch, Helldivers 2. Now if your skins were $10... people would buy on a whim with little thought process. "That looks pretty sick and I am enjoying <class>. I should get that!"Comment by Darkanen
Cosmetics being free and mean players are given more worthwhile incentives to continue playing and feel invested. That means more engagement and more people sticking around to buy more season passes and expansions.
Every armor set they are selling is around 8 singular cosmetics that could be a reward for players, and how many sets are available to buy? 200? The fact that that we are given only rotating selections we can't even see the full inventory is a FOMO tactic, one of many used by Blizzard that have been developed by psychologists paid to extract the maximum amount of money from their player base. Just like using a separate currency to obfuscate the actual cost of the item, using microtransaction costs that don't align with the purchased currency amount so there's always a remaining balance, keeping everything in sets so players can't buy any one specific piece, continuous UI alerts to draw players back into the shop if they want to remove the notification, etc.
Personally, I'd say the use of these microtransactions in a game with a $70 price tag, season passes, and upcoming expansions is nothing short of disgusting and actually detracting from the game. There could be literally a thousand rewards for certain player feats that could feel rewarding to earn instead of a cash shop.

But if they're not free, then they need to at least honor what the game directors promised before launch - to make the rewards in game as good if not better than what's in the shop.

But how many armor sets can you earn in-game that glow with embers, smoke, lightning, flower pedals, etc, or weapons with glowing effects, back items, emotes , skin tattoos, and more compared to the amounts you can buy?
I imagine execs are going to continue stripping away cosmetics player rewards as gameplay incentives and selling them piecemeal. And even in that already-broken pre-release promise linked above, they show that they were toying with cosmetics being a quarter of the price they launched at. An armor set at $3-6 is at least in the range of a spontaneous purchase that many wouldn't feel bad buying compared to a whopping $25. Anecdotally, I would have probably already bought three sets per class if they were priced appropriately, but at their current prices, I can't come close to justifying it. It's all almost an order of magnitude higher than what I would consider acceptable. Blizzard seems more interested in chasing whales to syphon money than have their successful game please a wider audience.Comment by AovaDiscounts are not a change that happens because of the feedback conversation, they're a tool used in marketing in response to sales numbers declining versus projected targets. Also, the discussion about the absurd prices is certainly not new, so for them to suddenly act like they're aware of it now comes across, at least to me, as disingenuously silly.

More likely is that the target spenders are spending less, and they're preparing to target whatever potential spenders have stuck around.
