Hero Talents are an extension of the Talent system designed to explore class fantasy with a third talent tree, separate from your class and specialization. With the release of Alpha, Blizzard has previewed most Hero Talents Trees coming in the next expansion, The War Within.

Comment by ProdigitalI definitely smell a change to the Hammer of Wrath interaction, somehow. Incentivizing *not* taking a capstone to prevent redundancy seems like something Blizz would not do. And actively building-in redundancy is probably not their intention. I expect Sunspots to be a dubuff on a target and not a mini consecration. My largets fear affecting pvp viability is possibly having dispellable debuffs in both hero talent trees. Expergation is already weak AND dispelled in pvp. Adding more nearly 0 value damage as it is removed near instantly from player defensives and dispells/purges would leave us with mostly useless hero talent text that doesn't even do tooltip damage.Comment by pawpurrI don't really like either hero tree but this one is worse. The idea of powering up a bunch of stacking haste with your cooldowns already existed.. its called Crusade. Doesn't feel like a lot of new ideas here. Boring passive talents, not really providing anything new gameplay wise. It reminds me of BFA, of Preach's dice rolling video. Oh boy, my proc can proc a proc which procs a proc that gives me haste so I can get more procs! Wowsers!

At least the other tree does transform a button into a new spell. And that's my other objection; As a long time player, I do not like seeing buttons condensed, removed, nor avoided being added. I know this leaves me at odds with what I'd call, "slower people"... But I don't really care about those people, They should go play a game that meets their needs and has only 3 buttons, instead of trying to change wow into that. Not to mention, SOD went all-in on complexity, literally defining new classes doing roles, and people loved it. Hello retail players? Do you have your eyes open?

IMO, if I come out the other side of hero talents with the same buttons on my bar, pressed in nearly the exact same order, Then Blizzard failed to deliver compelling class design for the expansion. They also fail if they add superfluous buttons that don't feel good to press - The meme of button bloat. That middle ground sweet spot of spell design is SO HARD to reach, but they USED to be able to do it. Now it's like they don't even try. Because when they do, the dullards will rabble-rouse about it.

I reserve final judgement until actually playing them, but honestly, if they keep listening to the 3heads who want to go down to 3 buttons, my hopes won't be very high.Comment by CentiasOn the issue of Luminosity and Vengeful Wrath, literally all they need to do is the most painfully obvious change ever:
Add another effect Vengeful Wrath to scale the (critical) damage of Hammer of Wrath with your Critical Strike rating in the same way as Chaos Bolt for Destruction Warlock.
There, we've instantly fixed the weird anti-synergy created by Vengeful Wrath.

And I know they are trying to avoid adding too much button bloat, but Eternal Flame really needs to not replace WoG unless it is just strictly better than WoG in nearly every way.

Also, I feel like Herald of the Stun is the only place I could possibly ask for Ashes to Dust to return, and I really need it to return.

Otherwise, I'm generally looking forward to both options for Ret. Just a few small things that could be cleaned up or improved.

VW is worth a little less the more crit you have. I've been running with about 40% crit for a while and I get better average dps from DP procs. Plus, those procs are fun.Comment by YarzTL;DR

Every class/spec feels like a bloated ADHD spammer nonsense that gives you a stroke after half an hour of focused gameplay when trying to maintain peak performance.
And these "Hero Talents" are not gonna make it any less insufferable to play--quite the opposite
