Quite the pricetag.

Comment by Maizou

Yea, I'm not paying that much when they don't even give EXP boost anymore lmao.

When they added the last rank, they lowered the cost of the previous ones and kept the price of the highest rank the same. Why are they not doing that now?

Comment by zanpakuto

I honestly dont understand the need to have to use gold to upgrade heirlooms . Couldn't they just be upgraded automatically at some point of the expansion ?

I understand that they are not as they used to be but still , seems like an unnecessary gold sink .

Oh well , this is still a great patch so far so not gonna let that ruin my satisfaction with the patch overall

Comment by MorbidFable

Way to expensive for being so useless.

No XP boost, no value.

Comment by wohin

You have got to be joking.

Comment by Taoma

why is the upgrade 3/3? they have removed old upgrade items and combined them?

Well, theres still value, you still get a set of gear that scales as you level.

Comment by RyudoTFO

What's the point in paying so much money for a set that doesn't even give you an xp bonus anymore? And they still only cover like 2/3 of our gear, so even with a heirloom set you can be extremely unlucky and be stuck with your ilvl 10 shoes untill lvl 60 if all you do is spam dungeons and not doing a single quest.

No, that just happens to be one of the limited time Heirloom weapons from SoO back in MoP, those started out at a higher scaling level than normal heirlooms, so they don't have as many upgrades needed for them.

Comment by Swalshy4

I'm never paying for BOAs again. Last time I did, I spent like 1M gold to upgrade everything to max.. and then they squished it all- without refunding any gold back.

Comment by yossarian

I can't imagine anyone but very rich completist people, to spend 12k to upgrade a completely useless piece of gear

Comment by Tuckletuts

130k to assist an alt very minorly? No thanks.

It might deliberate though. Convince players heirlooms are too expensive and not worth it, claim metrics over how few people use them and that they were a bad idea, and then just get us to boost because honestly I'd rather spend 1.5 hours of my weekly pay than spend any time levelling.

Comment by Drusin

Yeah looms are far from deserving of that price tag these days without the XP bonus

Comment by 2021511

So x50 the price of a green (not even counting the discount if you can make them yourself) for ilvls that're somehow worse than BFA's useless heirloom upgrades? What the hell are they even doing over there?

Comment by Facenomore23

Even in BFA it was faster to level with without heirlooms and with azerite armor. Even though it had bonus XP.

Imagine now without bonus XP and ilvl that bad...

Just a waste of money.

Ancient Heirloom Armor Casing for 500g + Timeworn Heirloom Armor Casing for 1000g + Weathered Heirloom Armor Casing for 2000g + Battle-Hardened Heirloom Armor Casing for 5000g + Eternal Heirloom Armor Casing for 12500g = 21000g per Armorpiece * 9 Slots = 189000 per Armortype * 4 Armortypes = 756000g to get the full heirloom gear for every class. That's half a Reins of the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur! (Ok, not even close. But still!)

Comment by Williamgood

Be nice if they added the xp buff back with everything else they are doing... or just optional way somehow.

Comment by Darkalius

Not sure if they will make it into the actual game, but on the PTR there are the Heirloom Scouting Map toys for flight paths for every expansion including Shadowlands. I kinda thought WoWHead would have talked about them here when mentioning the new Heirloom upgrades.

Comment by 1497468

i stopped upgrading heirlooms before the level squish. wasn't worth it then, really ain't worth it now.
at least they're sorta usable for low-level alts. you know, until you hit level 20 and can loot better greens by killing boars in Elwyn Forest.

Comment by Hearthwood

Well. Shortcuts do always seem to end up having a cost. I don't really mind, all my heirlooms are currently up to date.
