What to Expect from BFA Season 3 in Mythic+ and PvP - Item Level Changes and Rewards

We have a post in the works. In general, things should play out almost exactly like they did in Season 2, except 30 item levels higher.

Normal dungeons will now drop 370 item level at max level.

Heroic dungeons will now drop item level 385.

Mythic dungeons will now drop item level 400.

The new Mythic-only dungeon, Operation: Mechagon drops item level 415 loot baseline.

Loot should be capped at 420 from End-of-Dungeon runs until July 16th. Note: On PTR this was capped at 420 during the first week. However following Season 2's cap, this would be 415.

Mythic+ Essences

Rank 1: Complete a 4+ Mythic Dungeon in Season 3 and loot the end of dungeon chest.

Rank 2: Complete a 7+ Mythic Dungeon in Season 3 and loot the end of dungeon chest.

Rank 3: Combine 15 Focused Life Anima, obtained from your Weekly Mythic+ Chest in Season 3.

Rank 4: Complete Battle for Azeroth Keystone Master: Season Three.

First Week of Mythic+

During the first week, if you're not worried about Essences and only want gear, you'll want to complete one +10 or higher dungeon, then farm lower keys.

However, if you want to receive your Mythic+ Essence a week before other players, you'll want to complete one +15 or higher dungeon, then farm lower keys for gear.

On your page about gearing up next season the Weekly conquest chart is from last season, which is the only thing that's not updated there. Also, any information about the so far useless Quartermaster's coin ? I saw somewhere that the Sigils are actually going to be an upgrade possibly this season.Comment by Peredhil

Without LFG the game would have a huge social element. People would communicate more and would try to solve problems instead of leaving the group and requeuing in 30 minutes again. It would have more fun and challenge and those moments you spend with your group you will remember for a long time because you had to actually do something instead of just clicking one button.Comment by TalPlaysWoWTo clarify on this, I did some math.

From season 1 to season 2 we saw a unilateral 30% increase in difficulty due to the 30% boost to base numbers while retaining the 8% jump per key level.

From season 2 to season 3, we will not have the 30% increase to base numbers but we will have a (let's assume) 10% jump per level versus the 8% it was. This gives us varying difficulty increases from the previous season versus a flat increase per key level.

For example, at a key level of 5, it will be roughly 7.62% increased from season 2, but at a key level of 10 it will be roughly 17.96% increased from season 2.Comment by RobNajjarSo... As someone with multiple geared characters, going back into queued heroic versions to attempt at getting gear for alts is an absolute nightmare. The players who queue for heroic don't give a damn about mechanics, don't know them, and don't ask. This often results in multiple wipes.

At least players who apply for mythic 0's tend to actually care about learning the mechanics, at least in my experience.Comment by 1238240This post was from a user who has deleted their account.Comment by ZeroEdgeirFor everyone saying Mechagon not being in LFG is bad: Same thing happened with the last mega-dungeon, Karazhan Revisited. As well as all the Mythic-only normal dungeons of last expansion and this one. They all got added to the pool later (with Karazhan Revisited being split into two halves). Wanna run it right away, find some people. Otherwise, wait, and it will be opened up to the greater public in likely 8.3.

For everyone saying LFG is bad: Take off the rose-tinted glasses. With the fact we barely have server-identity anymore, half of the social elements of the game evaporated. You don't get known for being an excellent healer, or an amazing tank, through group work anymore, because even if you deal with just the LFG channel or General in a capital, you got about 6 servers worth of players in it potentially. This isn't back in the TBC/WotLK days when if you could tank any dungeon, you were a hot commodity to get a daily dungeon run done for people. Some part of me misses that (it is how I got into my WotLK raiding guild, by being a decently kick-ass freelancing tank, flat-out), but the rest of me is like "I don't have time for that BS anymore", cause... I really don't. I got way more games vying for my attention now, and social elements outside of a video game. I DO vividly remember the old days, and if you think you are "OMGl33tDPS" and disliking waiting in a queue, you got no clue how bad it was before for a DPS. You were at the WHIMS of whether a Tank or Healer was even willing to consider you in the group. And they had ALL the pull in a PUG. No healer or tank? No run. DPS are a dime a dozen. 6 Tank specs, 6 Healer specs, and 24 DPS specs. Not hard to see where the balance of influence is, and both tanking and healing are far more "stressful" roles as well.

And that is part of why I won't be going back in time with Classic servers... I do clearly remember what was in the past. I raided it, 6 nights a week, all the way to nearly clearing Naxx40 before 2.0 dropped (only guild on server to reach Sapphiron pre-2.0), and I do not want any part of it. Been there, seen it, got the statue.Comment by tonkiesour keys all have season 3 scaling this week still as well....You say that there is no scaling changes, however in a previous article you point out how base health and damage is not increasing, but the scaling is different. Not only that, but last week our keys were using the season 3 scaling changes (presumably by accident, as this week's keys are back to season 2 scaling) ...
