Condensed Life-Force

Damage debuff applied by your guardian’s Azerite Spikes has been reduced to 3% increased damage (was 5%).

The guardian’s Azerite Spike cast time increased to 2.5 seconds (was 2 seconds).

Developers’ note: With respect to Condensed Life-Force, the cast time increase was primarily intended to resolve a bug where the guardian would clip his own casts when a character gained enough Haste to bring the cast below a global cooldown. However, this particular Essence, which is largely passive, was the premier choice for most specializations on both single and multi-target situations. So, in addition to the cast time increase, we felt it was necessary to reduce the damage increase the player receives from the Essence.

Purification Protocol

Major Rank 1 damage increased by 15%.

Major Rank 2 now has the potential to work on targets that are part of raid and dungeon encounters.

Unbound Force

Major Rank 1 damage increased by 40%.

I know the guide says higher ranks give previous ranks, but does this include Rank 4 since it's cosmetic? Some of these rank 4's seem easier to acquire than their rank 3.

Does anyone know why we cant cast these spells on lower level players? Does the player that the spell is cast on have to have the heart of azeroth equipped also?(hence making it 120 only)

The Perseverance trait first unlocks at heart level 52, not 53 as stated above.

So, the rank 3 mechagon reputation essences cost 40 Spare Crates and 25 Galvanic Oscillators as well as being exalted. (source)

Pretty steep price, it can take upwards of a month to farm up the Oscillators for rank 2 and rank 3 if you don't get many lucky drops from the chests, and over 2 months if you happen to need 2 of those essences for other specs.

When I apply the Crucible of Flame into the Major Essence Power slot, with the intention of benefitting from both its major and minor powers, I get a continued notification above my character icon in the lower right corner of the screen stating, "Your Heart of Azeroth has an unused Essence slot." When I "X" out of the notification, it then appears next to my equipped Heart of Azeroth in my character window. Also, scrolling over the Heart of Azeroth, the minor slot appears to be empty and says, "Essence Slot Available." Is this intended? How do I know I'm receiving the benefit of the minor power as well? Seems like an inconvenience to have to continuously "X" out of each notification. I reloaded UI and logged out then back in but the notifications persist. Any helpful information is appreciated.

Unfortunately, I don't think the way these Essences work with the Major/Minor traits are explained at all in-game. So to clarify...
-
Essences have a "Major" and "Minor" ability. Whichever Essence you put in the center will provide you with both (an activated ability and its passive effect).
-
When you unlock a "Minor" trait (at AP levels 55 and 65), you can slot a different Essence (gaining it's passive effect only).
-
Therefore, put the Essence with the most beneficial "Major" (activated) trait in the middle, and augment it with desirable "Minor" traits from other essences. Each Essence can only be slotted once, so don't expect to stack passive effects.

Most Essences are earned from/catered to PvP, Mythic+, Raiding, or Reputation. That said, unless you do it all, you're probably sticking with the 3 "basic" ones: Crucible of Flame, Memory of Lucid Dreams, and Vision of Perfection (or perhaps Worldvein Resonance if you farm Expeditions). Luckily, these 3-4 Essences are arguably the most useful overall.

my heart of azeroth is at lvl 70, I did the latest quest, where you get the blue scale, fly up and grab it, then ask Kalegos to take you back to the heart, then turn in; I didn't get anything that makes you go beyond lvl 70, so is that it for the azerite? I still get azerite but can't hold it, and I don't get any gold instead?

Part of this is assuming that the player does mythics. i absolutely despise mythic dungeons due to toxic players. so i have to do as best as i can with what's available. still within the tp 5n thats knowing my class and rotation.

Everything relating to Echoes of Nyalotha isn't updated for the recent hotfix that allows you to buy Corruption.

Question, if i buy rank 3 on my alt can i then grind rank 4 for that alt? Or i need to earn rank 1 and 2 and then i can get rank 4?
Another question: if one char has PvE rank 3 essences and another has PVP rank 3 essences could they both buy the missing essences?

Not sure if it's a bug or was stealth nerfed but as of right now azerite essences for the HoA no longer function outside bfa zones. My speed toon is in stormwind and the essence is greyed out saying "You are in the wrong zone", azerite gear still seems to work but essences do not
