At this point you have to give it to Bliizard, they have gotten remarkably consitent at not doing any QA and letting customers beta test for money.
I've tanked him in the water, and lost my bonus objective BEFORE he charged - he wasn't moving when I lost it. A few seconds later, he charged to someone at the back of the cave. I didn't see the message about the cave collapsing until after he was dead and I was leaving the cave.
For me, the event fails the moment I even get into the cave. Doesn't even have to be pulled. The cursed message just pops up.
I've tested four times now. The objective disappears from the map as soon as I make it halfway down the ramp. The boss isn't even pulled it. We've tried keeping him in the water, keeping him away from the ramp, etc. None of us have gotten the objective to reappear.
ok for anyone still experiencing the bug, i have discovered a work around. I think, no way to know unless it works for others.after a few failed attempt I server hoped, once there I waited on the zeppelin that takes you back to Dornagal for the WQ to pop up. and when there was a reasonable amount of time for me, it will vary person to person depending how ur loading screens go, for me i waited for a 1:30 left, i teleported to Dornagal, than back to the Sirin Isle. Once back i ran straight to the cave and started the fight. Both times i did this for, it worked.So good luck and if you still have trouble, id say wait till tomorrow to try after reset. Maybe due to the hot fix coming mid day they may be having weird issues with it.let me know if this works for anyone else.
Tried it in a raid and we killed it before the objective disappeared, but only people outside of the raid got the gem. We did it again without the raid group and all got the gem.Every other attempt I've been part of has either had too little DPS (often because the knockback wasn't handled through better positioning) or because the objective disappeared even earlier than "normal". There was no clear cause, we did things both the same way and differently.
i got it after the hotfix, no party just going in.
To confirm - has anyone actually gotten one of these gems from Shuddering Hollow while in a raid group?
This is 100% an issue with the cave and not the boss. We've gone down 20+ times now. Sometimes it fails before we're even halfway down the ramp. Other times it fails at 10%. As soon as you see "The cavern is on the verge of collapse!", the game has decided the boss is dead and the objective is lost.At this point, you just have to get lucky and kill him before that message appears.
