The retaking of Gilneas was quite weak, yeah. And it's a bit on the nose to have two cinematics back to back where two Alliance races' leaders step down in favour of their daughters. Meanwhile Thrall, of all played-out washed-up shelved and brought-back characters will be back in the spotlight in the next expansion. Come on, they shelved Malfurion before the poor guy even got to do anything ingame, despite being one of the most prominent characters in lore. And now Genn, who was one of the more interesting characters in the Alliance, representing an important voice of diversity is shelved in favour of yet more "we're such good friends with the Forsaken" vibes like Shandris and Tess. Where's a Machiavellian Gilnean princess who may not hate all undead but puts her nation first through assassinations and political machinations? Where are the vicious female NElf warriors who uphold their own culture because it has existed for millennia, has seen the rise and fall of nations, and will outlast the rise and fall of silly human social norms too? Homogenising every culture, character, and faction has really been a disservice to the fantasy universe as a whole and I think they're missing out on telling stories and writing a wider range of characters that are unique and compelling. That said, the conversation between Genn and Tess was actually really well done, the dialogue was leagues better and more natural than the Dragonflight recap cinematic (where Alexstrasza goes "so, children, what have we learned in this expansion? We learned that our past mistakes do not define us! That we can build a new legacy!" lmao). Also they look great. I kinda want Tess's face. Can we have Tess's face pls? Anduin, Tess, Genn, etc look so much better than the default Human character faces (especially the females with their bug eyes and ice pick noses).
kay, no one asked this so imma give it a shot.Once you finish the questline and do the grave thingy, there's an npc with a dialogue by the cathedral, which you can speak to dismiss the other npcs in front of the cathedral (i bet is for RP purposes). Any way to get them back or is it meant to be like that and i'll keep seeing the same old desolated Gilneas from Cata?
At the end of the quest when you you are listening to Greymane talk, there is a toy you can pick up near him called "Tess's Peacebloom, it ports you back to Gilneas.
Maybe Blizz decided to leave Tess human so that she will end up pregnant with Anduin's child? Their marriage would bound two kingdoms like nothing else.
This was actually one of the better plots for Gilneas, glad to see it. And Worgen getting their own personal hearthstone to gIlnease is great! It's crazy, most of the worgen RPers I met on WRA and MG were very.. neo nazi.. in their speech, their manner and hate. Glad to see the NPCs aren't nearly as weird.
people in the comments who says "we waited 12 years for this" they do not have a clue of what the story is.
There is one odd thing about this. Now we have a racial leader who is not Worgen.
In the Cringris Mansion, there is one NPC that you interact with her, and ask to have the mansion for yourself, then all the NPCs there leave, there are more here, or it is just that?
For gilneas!
Genn: "What are your orders?"Funny to see a king asks that.
There is an NPC called Greymane Senechal next to the cathedral, when you talk to her, she vanishes all NPCs from Gilneas and walks away, and I am not sure where to find her later to reverse it. Does anyone have an idea where she is later? There is no page on Wowhead that is linked to that NPC.
Blizz delivers yet again! I'm looking forward to the future of Gilneas, the worgen and the Greymanes.
Ew.Genn still needs to pay for his crimes.
