I find it hilarious the people going "N'ZOTH SHOULDA HAD HIS OWN EXPANSION, A CINEMATIC FOR HIS END? HE'S AN OLD GOD HE SHOULD HAVE MORE, AND SHOULD HAVE LIVED" because they have 0 clue what they are talking about, C'thun didn't get a cinematic, Yogg'saron didn't get a cinematic, neither of them got an expansion and both were killed on patch they made an entrance in. Also, N'zoth has had 2 expansions where he was behind the scenes and controlling things, he was behind the Emerald Nightmare, Xavius was his servant, doing his bidding. In BFA he was behind an entire zone's storyline for Kul Tiras, corrupting the tide sages, and as the one who gave Aszhara her current form, he was behind Nazjatar as well. Before we killed C'thun the only thing we really faced that he had a hand in was Silithus and silithids (who unlike qiraji were just stupid insects and only showed up in a few zones), and Yogg'Saron only had Saronite (an ore) and the corruption of Loken, which were both pretty minor parts of the overall questline of the expansion. G'huun a dang manufactured old god had more story and involvement than these two (in game). What exactly is wrong with the cinematic? An artifact we've been powering up for so long containing the essence of a Titan being used as conduit to channel the power of the titan facilities we routed to the heart chamber and using that power to send it all to the Heart? Sounds like exactly the way it was going to go out. N'zoth was the WEAKEST of the old gods, and you guys were expecting him to do what? N'zoth is the corrupter, him being behind the scenes and controlling so many events throughout the game IS his major involvement. Someone asked "how can we kill him if killing an old god would damage Azeroth?" N'zoth isn't in "Azeroth" right now, he's in Nyalotha. Secondly, we killed the other old gods, the only reason Y'shaarj's death did so much damage to Azeroth is because Titans (Aman'thul) literally brute forced it and ripped Y'shaarj out of Azeroth, which he had sunken his roots into, tearing up the surface of the planet, and Y'shaarj had control over the majority of the continent of old Kalimdor.

Nylotha crumbling and falling and N'Zoth's eye quivering before exploding seems to be inspired by Sauron's defeath at the ending of Lord of the RIngs: Return of the King. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyzE9thQIPo
They could have had this made it alittle longer and more impactful and have actual effects and implications in-game permanently or long term and then do some epic true to wow lore-based pre-rendered cinematic similar to how lich king and or bfa started for the end and the final conclusion of old gods ending on azeroth or even better do something even newer and more impressive, etc . This was a excessive disappointment.off-topic but relevant:I'm not ashamed as much as disappointed in not only bobby kotick horrendous greed but blizzard's sad link too it, if this is what caused this shambled rushy expansion, please blizzard de-link from activision and get some passion and awareness back.
First, I do understand everyone's frustration. This was not what I expected. For an expansion end boss this looks very short, and also it's nothing like the previous expansion ending cinematics where some twist happened which then opened the way for the next chapter. That said, during the expansion we got several beautiful cinematics (that actually never happened before). I think the last one, titled "Reckoning", serves the same purpose as the previous expansion ending cinematics. It does have a sacrifice while also revealing the twist about Sylvanas that paves the way for the next expansion. It's also very emotional and true to WoW. However, it came out before the final patch, so it didn't really feel as an ending cinematic. I think the purpose of that cinematic should have been clearly stated, and then maybe there would be less negative reactions to this Ny'alotha ending. It's also interesting to note that nowadays it's just really hard to satisfy the audience. I wonder how this cinematic will affect the game in the future... FYI, the one thing I like about this end cinematic is the homage to The Lord of the Rings. I think that one is actually brilliant.
well if legion and old gods are now defeated that leaves not much left in WoW for the bad guys, i am not sure what they plan to do after shadowlands in terms of expansions.
as tailesin says its best it was a #### show obiviously
Just when you were sure WoD was the worst expansion ever made ...
Final Cinematic is a strong word for whatever this is.As far as lackluster goes ... this did take the cake ... Blizzard has finally sunk deep enough to go bankrupt and burn to the f@!%ing ground for all I care, and hope from its ashes a better company can rise.Cancelling my sub was the best choice I could have made. I understand that they are understaffed, and that the dev. team would prefer more time for the project. But as long as they keep asking for the monthly sub fee, while adding mounts for the store, I couldn't give a flying f@!% about their issues. They have more than enough funding to prevent the kind of stuff this whole expansion went trough. Buying the expansion + 12 months of subs alone costs almost 220 euros. I can buy 4 fully priced games for that price. Now add to that that the shop revenue, and with thousands of subscribers that becomes a very hefty sum.So thanks, but no thanks Blizzard and Activision. There's no excuse for releasing such low below par quality content while making money like that.Just take other MMOs for example. - Most have a substantial content available for free to play- You usually need to buy the expansion with no added sub fee- there are MMOs that have the option to be a subscriber, but a subscriber instantly has access to all the expansions, so you don't have to buy them separately (plus in some cases the premium subscription automatically also provides premium currency that's part of the deal, so you can spend it in their premium shop)- Since the cost of playing is about half of what WoW requires, and in many cases the content itself is as substantial or even more, having shop items doesn't feel as much of a low blow.Sorry, but WoW just isn't worth its asking price for the quality of the content we get. They're just doing it, because they know they can get away with it.
So... Argus' sword plunging through an entire planet is literally is used simply to show there's hidden powerful material within the planet? I was really hoping it would be the star of the show, but lost hope when "Azerite is hurting, mine away!" quests became the norm. So... powers of titans are used to kill Old God, and... we will just use the leftover power to uproot the sword, melt it down, and... do what?Warlords had us end the "Invasion of Draenor" before going off to a new patch, while Gul'dan escapes prompting Legion. Legion started with Gul'dan bringing back the legion and then we decimated it. But... BfA started over Azerite, and the solution was to mine more of the planet to fight each other and... mine more Azerite. Oh! And this is after we destroy legendary weapons to "stop corruption" from the sword. Who knows... maybe the sword explodes from awesomeness in the pre-patch prompting all of our heroes to die...
I might be wrong but isn't it similar with killing demons? They go back to their void - and they need to be killed in their own realm for a permenent death. So all old gods are alive in their own realm - their body on Azeroth was just destroyed - they could come back.
Ugh definitely one of the most lackluster, uninspired and boring patchs in a very long time. Great job blizz on laying off 800 people and forcing out some pure hot trash... and they really expect this $hit to keep people interested until SL? I won't be surprised when the sub numbers start dropping like crazy in a month.
"The god... OF NOTHING."
We can clearly see how is BFA bad with its ending cinematic. No needed but it makes more clear in my mind.
