Well, Xal'atath's humanoid body is the High Elf Inanis. It's contrived, but they could always throw in that she was the widow of Lirath Windrunner (the Windrunner sisters' younger brother, a physically weak musician who was killed by the Horde during WC2) and had been dealing with the Void as a form of grief? That'd make her and Alleria sisters-in-law.

Alternatively, Inanis could have been one of the close relatives to the 'main' Windrunner family we know- making her Alleria's cousin or niece or aunt or something like that.

Or maybe not at all, and this is silly. :^)

Okay, think about this. There is a step called "Cracks in the Void" and another called "Null and Void". Could this Null be the 7th cosmic power? And could this mean the Void itself is already fighting this? Or maybe it's a faction within the Void. I am super excited and curious about this questline.

I... I think it's just some wordplay with the common expression. Besides, wasn't it heavily implied that the 7th force was US? Like, not our player characters, but the actual sweaty humans at computer desks controlling our characters? That's the sense I got.

Nah the 7th cosmic force is the First Ones. They and their musical fractal magic, that we saw in Zereth Mortis, that ordered and keeps in balance the other six. The guiding framework of reality. :)

Well, I'm incredibly disappointed.

Xal'atath just seems to be another big dumb bad guy. There's no room for nuance when they just kind of... make her evil for evil's sake. "Oh, relive your trauma (for about the tenth time at this point), aren't I so evil? Now I also attack your home, for some reason!"
