All that is, is just taking the garrison and putting it in any zone. Not exactly player housing. Player housing has to be customizable besides its building and continue to be relevant in future expansions. This idea is something Blizzard would come up with and claim its player housing, then forget about it after the expansion it was introduced in is over.
I'd love to have customisable player housing in game. I still visit my garrisons, and still make a little money from them, but as housing they were a failure. Our characters didn't even have their own personal space in them (- archeological displays don't count).
I think Garrisons were about as close as we will ever get to player housing in WoW.
This suggestion seems more like a garrison than anything, we need flexibility and be able to add items or change things like paint/walls type etc
WTB this for the last 16 years
I love the idea, of housing, It allows for a sense of realism and makes me (not sure about others) feel like I'm part of the world a bit more. I liked the garrison, I didn't like some of the tedious bits, but there was potential there... I could have a place where my battle pets could run about and not be stuck in my inventory all the time. It's just something extra to do in the game that lets you have some extra personalization. Could even add a couple of recipes to existing professions or add a woodworking profession that allows you to build furniture.I would suggest that if they were implementing housing to put the housing in it's own instance like the garrison was (or EQ2)... Or do neighborhoods like FFXIV even. I could see tons of people going to the same area and causing some lag issues for anyone who might be trying to play in that area. I mean just outside of the cities are usually where the holiday events are held and where folks like to duel... having open world housing while very cool would lag the system up greatly.Again neat concept, wish they'd consider it... but it's likely not going to happen. It would fundamentally change the game and they seem to like to always move forward into the cosmos...
short answer to the question: Yes. It sounds amazing.
I don't want player housing. Garrisons were it and they failed miserably. We can get soooo many better things than waste resources on player housing again.
Player Housing is the very (and only one at the moment) one reason I might start playing New World.I hope Blizzard open their eyes and realize that if the want to keep their playerbase they need to renew WoW ASAP
Player housing is a waste of dev time.
Player housing in Teldrassil? Uhhhhhhhh I hate to spoil things but that place is a charred wasteland. But also, you guys know this wont happen. Blizzard is too busy removing content to add more. You can't get player housing till every flirt and joke is gone!
The whole limit the transmog within player housing so the city npc aren't useless is just a stupid idea - as soon as you're level 10, you can just mount the expedition yak and mog yourself that way, which, let's face it, everyone has that mount unless they are a completely new player - which, given the circumstances, Blizzard aren't bringing in new players.
From very very very far, Wildstar's housing was the best. Inspire you of that and just do it.
Hopefully this would make classic/cata cities ACTUALLY inhabitable in some way. Although i can't imagine returning unless things get better, the game is way too expensive for what it delivers and player housing while awesome is NOT ENOUGH to fix core issues.
I mean this is cool but if it would cost us a raid tier or more realistically a whole expansion to get it then it's not worth it. Blizz should just focus on what they are great at which are raids and dungeons
