Please, I wish a Wildstar housing system, nothing else. 0 restrictions, your own plot & all the furniture you want, even world boss statues. You could even put instances & minigames inside your plot, change the skybox & literally create a already existant zone or make even a better faction capital zone. I loved it. I dont want another garrison or skyrim house with predefined furniture & positions. What i loved about skyrim was you could take almost all furniture from instances, that would be op.
Make your alts NPC's that just walk around the House area
WoW desperately needs something like this because it has no midgame content. A great example of player housing done well is how ESO does it; its completely optional, and you can do literally whatever you want with the thousands of furniture pieces available. The result is, whenever you have a small amount of downtime and you dont want to commit to anything major, you can just go putz about with your house in one way or another, and have a good time. This is a great example of midgame content, where its still entertaining and enjoyable but doesnt take alot of time or resources from the player to engage with. WoW, as of now, has no enjoyable midgame. Professions are gutted, world quests are tedious on a good day, the mission table is meaningless, and there's some other things im probably forgetting. The endgamge of WoW is good, to an extent; raids are good, mythics are okay, pvp is hit or miss, but there's just so little midgame content. Housing in WoW would be a great addition to the midgame to enjoy, if they do it right. Although tbh i dont know if the engine could even support full player customization the way its done in ESO, and even if it could, i doubt they'll ever bother. Such a shame.
ESO style housing would be great.
I love this idea but not for gulds only..beacause not everyone wants to be part of a guild.. look at toon town online and there hosuing its 2d and very simple and they have incorporated fishing and gardening..and building statues... and put your bank there as well.and they have a catalog style where they come out with a new catalog once every two weeks.. you can buy fishing poles clothes pieces of outfits , of course funiture. im playing animal crossing now..they also have housing it completely cute..and I personally will still go out and do my quest all the time it doesnt take away from the game but I dont want to fight all the time..and it gives us some downtime , so we dont burn out doing the same things over and over and over and over again.
We had artifact weapon skins on stands in Legion class halls, so the armor stand part is not so farfetched. The whole thing is cool and I'd obviously want housing in wow.But I'm more interested in the second tab, Guild halls. Just imagine it, every major city is getting those, since there are enough random houses to set up a number of locations in every city, or even other locations like fortresses and keeps. Now a more conservative approach would have them as instanced locations, much like garrisons, but varying depending on the location, town, continent etc. You would have to meet some criteria to get into those, and the better (bigger?) ones would require more grind/gold/farm/specific achievements on a number of characters (maybe even acquired in the same guild). I mean if you're a small time friendly guild you may apply for a wide range of those halls, but the most prestigious (functionality has to be somewhat the same ) ones are more like a reward for an excellent team work. And those prestigious ones might not be instanced, so as to increase the cool factor, and let ppl show it off in one way or another. And since they're not instanced there has to be a way for anybody to acquire them, or at least to compete in it. And that could be anything, ranging from M+ guild rating per time period (week, biweek, month?), WF raid kills, PvP rating to some specific scheduled events, like some huge RBG for pvp-related halls, or mini MDI type events for M+ ones.I know those are just wet dreams, but how cool could that be.
Man.... it's such a shame really
Very boring, would mostly use it as a HS. I think the main issue is when housing is instanced, it's - boring, separates players and makes the world lonlier, either a big part of the game or irrelevant (or tied to a single exp like garrison, which is a shame)When it's open, the space is obviously limited.. but I'd prefer to have limited housing where you can steal, rob, etc..
I think it would be cool to have 2 separate Guild Hall and Player Housing.I'd love Player Housing to just have TONS of customizations, being able to collect things from all over (Player-Housing quests, old and new dungeons, raids, world, rep vendors, and definitely crafting and even gathering.. I like the idea of having a library, and being able to COLLECT lore. Maybe for Archeology, have a little museum attached to the library. Professions would get mats and recipes from all expansions (but make all the stuff BoE so people can sell it, give it to alts, etc).As with transmogs, be able to create SETS for various rooms, and items would be shared across the account. The house would def. be instanced like the Garrison but give player some choice in where to put it. Give it its own HS, and portal to various cities (or at least SW / Org).I like some ideas from the Garrison, including the Music Roll. (If you earned the music roll in Garrison, maybe have it available for house). AND also, be able to collect variations on the music (like the LoFi Shadowlands music). I'm thinking along the lines of the Hearthstone Karazhan dance music (the one they use for the AH party) but for MORE WoW music, and ability to make playlists. Also, be able to collect holiday and other celebration decor. WHY? One of the complaints about the Garrison was that they were too isolating. OK, if people WANT to stay isolated that's fine, but if not, why not make it party friendly with music, decor and even buffet feasts where the food gives you FUN effects rather than combat buffs (like costumes, animated effects, glow, etc).I like his ideas except that it's guild related. I VERY MUCH want things for guilds to share, but I personally believe that should be separate. This should be something that ANYONE can do, collect for, decorate, personalize, and hopefully, invite friends over to share with them.
You could also incorporate systems like breeding of types of fish you can catch in the outdoors. This way, people would still fish in the outdoors and could get special quests to try capture the fish and breed them after at your house/garrison.You can then maintain that kind of fish at your place. Stocks could be time limited to make it suitable for 1 or 2 characters so you don't flood the AH with it. You could also limit space to allow jus a few types that you can choose. In that way you could choose the ones you need to maintain your best food. Feasts could remain outdoor activities for guilds use if you prefer.IMO you could, like in garrison incorporate a garden with the concept of finding seed in the outdoor or buy them at the AH and have limited space for types which would make sense to maintain 1 or 2characters. You could also maybe use part of your stock to get more seeds to re-plant.Attached to all this you can then remove secondary professions limitations entirely and simply let everyone pick anything they want. This way you can find seeds, capture fish you want and so on.Add a slaughterhouse/butcher and tame/catch species and let them breed at your farm. Again with limited space. All these small minigames would allow you to choose if you simple want to farm them outside or maybe grow the stocks you need yourself.Maybe also add NPC you could employ with a weekly gold fee to do the some work for you. Like employing gardeners, butchers and pay them weekly.Maybe they could give you some quests and so on that span through different maps and not just the current expansion.Same for the mount area, you could get special NPCs that take care of your mounts and also provide quests that should be spread to all maps.I been playing this game for so long and it is tiring to only have content that expires within a cycle. This could be a LONG TERM feature which you can add small minigames too in the small patches and more quests which would take you around the world with maybe spawning specifics medium strength mobs (like you cannot afk and auto-attack, or maybe ask a friend to help) that u need to defeat or find treasure and so on...The garrison was (and still for me as I tend to go there often) imo such a nice idea. Imagine the possibilities if you make it a long term feature!Just my opinion of course!
Please don't waste dev resources on this. If you want to decorate a house, go play the sims or animal crossing. Who cares where you hang out when you're not doing the real content? Just add more real content. (Dungeons/raids)
This easily takes as much effort as a whole content patch, but it is definitely something the player base would look forward to.And so many other MMOs have implemented it before that it's amazing how they haven't, considering how they're seeking other ways to grab player attention.
I thought this was a no brainer thing to implement, you know, 10 years ago when the game was still very good. It's not gonna save the game now.
Real content is very subjective. Also it seems that the feedback they got was that people want more customization and long term features. They even went totally opposite to their previous stand of not adding more customization to characters within this XPAC.The feel I get is that players want more personalized features and I think this would be a great opportunity that can tie to old and new content.
