Such obvious foreshadowing. Help Kelestra or she'll turn evil, or agree with Rashan or he'll turn evil. How boring and predictable. Yawn.
I'm glad that we have at least a little bit of a story explanation about why Night Elves decided to become traitors.I still hate Blizzard for that Night Elf Warden, guardian of the Orgrimmar, during Baine rescue quests...Still question what have happened with Siara after the war.P.S. About those who whining about Night Elves, especially Hord boys - we had 3 damn expansions about Sylvanas and orcs in CGI cinematics. While the only Night Elf in CGI was in the Classic. And yet, for 100% we will see even more Sylvanas . . .P.S. Also Night Elves and everything related to them, is the best what Blizzard have ever made!
Hate when blizzard rewrites lore.I'm " salty" ballzy grand hero of the horde. Why am I not just taking them to the after life ( that we fully understand now and are certain it exists and owes us massive favors) and let them met with there family or just check if shes in hell?I'm " salty" ballzy I've killed creator gods (plural) the physical and metaphysical embodiment of the infinite darkness of space and 5 minutes ago murdered the residents of a parallel timeline to sell a time paradox in the form of a mount to a level one hunter. This drama is legit just my character being lazy in lore.
this did get me thinking about what both of my characters (alliance and horde) would do, assuming this quest is open to both factions. my alliance character is a death knight, and full of self-loathing for what she did to my horde character's family when she was alive. i think she'd project so hard on this situation that she'd be incapable of seeing anything but how she thinks she'd deserve to be treated after her true death, so she'd refuse to let the sister be buried in the barrow.my horde character meanwhile will probably let her be buried there. she forgave my alliance character so forgiving someone's wrongdoings is something she believes is possible (granted these circumstances are not exactly great for forgiveness to happen, forcing the issue is kind of the opposite of what you want to do). but, she was also a sylvanas loyalist (and still is on the DL), and having any input on this decision at all would be extremely awkward for her. so she'd probably defer to malfurion on the grounds of not wanting to get his attention.
"That is the Koroleth I will remember." But not the koroleth that was. I will not allow her in.
I admit, I scrolled to the end to see the rewards or even if the rewards differed compared to the options chosen, guess it doesn't matter.
So the Horde is now continued to be ignored for 4 expansions in a row. The bias is getting more obvious with each passing day. Night elves and humans is all what Blizzard cares about these days.
I would posit that perhaps this is wrapping up the Night Elf story for a bit - something of an epilogue. It shows the through-line of the Night Elf story from the beginnings of BfA to the conclusion of Dragonflight. We are laying to rest victims of the Burning of Teldrassil. We are playing through the ramifications of the Horde assault on Teldrassil: an assault which gave rise to the Primalists and caused harm in the Dragon Isles, almost costing us another World Tree. And now, we “lay to rest” the conflict, though it is a bit open-ended - we either made an enemy of Rashan Stillbrook or have sent Kelestra down the same dark path as her sister. Neither of which can be a major plot point as they are opposing narratives and risk cognitive dissonance with the player. Why would Stillbrook be angry if you sided with him? Why would Kelestra be angry if we sided with her? And if we made the choice, why would they be angry because of someone else’s choice? No. The goal of the narrative was to effectively close out the Night Elf chapter so TWW can start with a clean slate and not be plagued by “what about?” The choice we make, while permanent, I just can’t see being a major narrative element. Rather just a signal that, as with all societies, there is always going to be a dissatisfied element, and that for all there is an desire for lasting peace - the actions the Horde took against the Night Elves will lasting lasting repercussions - repercussions which may resolve in Twilight or may always be a fundamental tension between the major factions, players social engagements aside. It’s only a small quest, and not worth, IMO, the vitriol. All that said, it would be nice to see more of these little tidbit stories across the board - with other races. It’s just that right here, right now, the Night Elf one makes sense within the denouement of Dragonflight: the first quest in the new Night Elf home (much as I disagree with its location) and the last Night Elf quest (likely) of the arc that began in BfA.Edit: I stand by my assumption that this small quest chain is intended to just close a chapter, as Rashan Stillbrook is not a major druid NPC. He only appears in this story, so to have this be his “super villain origin” when there will be players who choose his side doesn’t make sense. He’ll likely just be “flavor text salty” about those who decided against him. If he turns into a BBEG at some future point, well I have eaten crow before, and likely will do so again.
I do not think it is possible for Bliizard to implemet anything without the Wowhead commenters ripping it to shreds. Why are you guys playing the game or engaging on a news site dedicated to this game? You obviously despise the game and the developer...
