As long as it's restricted to guild only so I don't have to deal with it, I can tolerate it. I'm a casual player who enjoys a lower tier end-game. If High end max level raiders want the disaster of Master Looter, They can have it and I won't complain as long as it doesn't hurt me.
LMAO Personal Loot is trash like idk why any one like its.. i have gone the whole raid with out getting loot
Thank God.
. . .Just bite the bullet and bring back badge gear.Look. I get it.You want me stay subscribed for 6 months and you're using whatever mental hooks you can.Just make Old Warrior's Soul 258 ilvl cost 24 Mythic Marks of Sylvanas that only drop from Mythic Sylvanas. You got me hooked and I have my determinism. No need for this RNG clownfiesta since WoD.
YIKES!
People in this thread can't possibly be serious.....if master loot comes back it will obviously be tweaked and also be a supplemental loot system you can use with friends or maybe just your guild and only in certain environments - this isn't going to hurt personal loot one bit, it's not going away. Please be reasonable and don't try to take away something that can only have a positive impact for the people who want it and literally no impact for the people who don't want it.
The title and wording of this article should be edited. "Master Loot" is really taken out of context here. Ion is saying that there are bad qualities about both master loot and personal loot, so the long-term goal is to bring in a whole new looting system that somehow incorporates the good qualities of both without the bad. Master Loot is not coming back, but a new looting system is being considered.
Best possible solution and the easiest one to make EASILY would be masterloot as an option for guild groups only (80-85% of group in a guild), and just remove or lighten up the restrictions on personal loot. I don't see how anyone could be against this.
Do not bring master loot back please. I want to receive my loot myself when I kill a boss. I want to be the one who hands it to another player when I don’t need it. This change would only benefit the 1%. Please don’t do this.
We have ready check for leaders to use before starting a run. What if Master Loot was added as a checkbox there. If box is checked, all players must select YES in order for master loot to go into effect. If not, then the group gets the normal loot system. When Master Loot is on and handled by a player who gives out loot to those that need it and where it helps, like with guild runs, then it is GREAT! But, if Master Loot is on and you are not 1000% sure the player isn't a piece of crap, you or another player will most definitely GET SCREWED. It all depends on the group. Back in the day, I have seen some awesome players lead raids with master loot on and even though it was a PUG,they were incredibly fair. But that is the rarity.Let Master Loot be an option that ALL PLAYERS in the group have to select YES for it to go into effect. That is the only way things will be fair. SAD that it is somethingthat is necessary, but with so many bitter and jaded players in WOW, we gotta protect the normal players from the psychos.
WoW's gearing philosophy has generally been: You do content and sometimes you get items. You hope it's a good one. Sometimes it's not.Raiding tiers generally go like this: The content is difficult but it gets easier as people learn mechanics and start earning gear. You have lucky players with good gear and maybe not so good mechanics, you have unlucky players with poor gear but great mechanics and all sorts of people inbetween. The experience of beating the raid should feel satisfying over the span of the tier and everyone should eventually get upgrades.---What they don't want: Okay, 25 of us are here to gear Brendan. Tonight another 25 alts will gear Tommy. We'll do this for a full raid roster so we can beat the hard stuff as fast as possible. They also don't want: Okay, so our pugs helped fill out the raid and some BiS items dropped. Let's give those to our core group and just put the Pugs on ignore. They also don't want: Listen, Sara.. The group needs that trinket more than you do and it's very selfish of you to keep the loot that was randomly given to you by the system. We're gonna need you to be a teamplayer. I'm sure you understand....
Okay, but they can simply implement two systems already existing in SL: Castle Nathria Weapon Token + Tier set tokens. Both modes already exist and worked perfectly well. Now combine this with Masterloot and you will have almost no waste of gear, since at least one of the 3 classes will be in the group, as Warrior+Rogue+Monk or Shaman+Pala+Priest. As for Masterloot in Pug groups, just specify in the menu the type of loot that is in the group. And if it is changed, generate a notice for each one that is in the group.
I would be in favor of a master loot type situation but it's handled by the game, as in people can roll for items but it's handled by the game vs a loot master. People would get higher or lower roll luck based on their loot choice and/or whether it is an upgrade, etc. I am not really in favor of a return to the old master loot, even though I trust my guild.
Keep personal loot for random group content, setup Master Loot as an option in organized group content
Master looter is wanted by 1%ers who can pass the gear to the person they are gearing. As a heroic raiding guild, we have struggled this tier with getting...tier....where some people had 4 set and people like me had 1. Nothing about master loot would have helped that....because the Priest/Shaman/Paladin tier didn't drop for 9 freaking weeks for our guild. Stop catering to the 1%ers. It happens every xpac and is quickly becoming a theme. 3 untested bosses = giving 1%ers some challenge that quickly turned into too many days of raiding.Return to master loot = giving 1%ers the ability to gear someone really fast and save time for splits. Can you imagine being in a toxic guild where the guild master has issues and only wants to gear his close personal friends? It happens. Not in our guild, but it happens. And then Sam or Susie will be on the side lines not having the gear that would have dropped for them given to someone else. It opens the community up to more abuse and more toxic behavior. Instead of giving people PLAYER AGENCY to do with their gear as they see fit...instead of giving someone a way to REMOVE the choice.Imagine a LFR group where someone has master looter and forces you into a crap boss kill and doesn't give you the loot you worked for? Just stop already. Is that not enough examples as to why Master Looter shouldn't be brought back?
