Blizzard Confirms Quests Will Not Reward All Appearances in The War Within

I have made a new Dwarf character because I wanted to level through their starting area and beyond also hoping to unlock some missing transmog pieces. I was under the impression that as of 11.0 once you complete a quest you will unlock all available transmog, even the items that your character can not equip.

However I have noticed that this is not the case while questing through the old world. Is this intended, did I maybe misunderstand how unlocking transmog works?

I'm a collector, I love collecting things, transmog Warbands in The War Within is the greatest thing ever, I think with the transmog collection between different armor types and things like that. We noticed in the testing, we would do quests and it would collect all the appearances for all the different armor types but one of the big questions that people are curious about is, is it retroactive to quests that we've already done? Will we need to redo loremaster or is that going to be a massive spam of appearances when we log in?Sorry, I mean going back and basically, just like to do it again, but if we don't so, yea.So yeah, that's fantastic, awesome.Impact of This Change

We plan for this to be retroactive, so any quests that you previously completed should grant all qualifying appearances when you first log onto any character. And because they can't fix it we have to pretend that it was a mistake that it happened at all on the Beta.

With the amount of employees, HQs, resources and funding Blizzard has, we should be getting 2-4x more content every expansion and there should be minimal bugs on beta and none on live version. This is so sad.

Of course, a lot of us knew something like this would happen. When you split up your team to handle numerous game modes no one asked for, "classic" versions that are not even like that content was when it was live, focus solely on endgame content and grinding for the vocal rushers in the community, and keep other games alive that should have died years ago (Diablo, Overwatch) - this is what happens.

It has been a long time since World of Warcraft was the flagship title it SHOULD ALWAYS BE. Where the majority of development and funding is focused solely on REAL WoW. Now look at things. This has been the buggiest version of WoW I have ever played. We didn't get a full expansion for DF. We got game modes to distract us from noticing we didnt get a full xpac. And everything is being rushed for no reason.

No one ever wanted an xpac sooner than every 2 years. We just want a full xpac. But since DF was missing a lot, they decided to focus on getting the next xpac out sooner.

We could have at least another 3 months of Beta to fix things. And it would be fine if only we had a full DF expansion. But since we didn't, everyone is waiting for the next one to release early.

My Advice:

Shut down every single so-called "classic" realm and start over with just WoW Classic (only vanilla content, but without any changes/tweaks)
So we will have that and the true WoW experience on retail. That is all that should be worked on. Stretching yourselves too thin is leading to so many problems and who knows what will happen next?Comment by robertmfrostI think they literally stated in an interview that doing any quest on any character would unlock all appearances for all characters.

any non-class specific transmog you acquire regardless of the item type (cloth, gun for example)
boe items will be automatically added when put on, destroyed, sold (to an npc vendor) or disenchated
transmog rolls (classes for which an item is designed for take precedence over others)

What has not been advertised:

items that were not picked as a quest reward

Although it would be a nice move to keep the bug as a feature, it was clearly not intended (at least in my understanding). If I'm wrong, please cite a source and I stand corrected.
