I normally enjoy MDI and I like the players in generally, but I have to agree with a lot of people above me.This was known since Legion, seemingly could have been fixed within minutes but was just left alone for years and years… until it impact MDI practice and it was magically high priority.Again, this wasn’t during the MDI weekend, this would have prevented them from practicing one dungeon for three days… but it was insta fixed.
This is the same deal with all the ridiculous scaling issues that can literally one-shot you because specific boss/mob abilities were hitting you for up to 10X the current health pools because they were still tuned for level 90-110 characters and weren't properly scaled down. Those were known for years, in some cases 8 or 9 years, and even after literally thousands of reports from players Blizzard never lifted a finger... UNTIL those dungeons entered the Mythic key pool and suddenly they got fixed. It's absolute laziness. The bugs were obvious, always occurred with the same mobs/abilities, and were 100% repeatable. When I'd go in as a healer or tank I'd warn the group that those one-shots were out of my control. So the regular players had to suffer but the moment those dungeons even got a whiff of being competitive content Blizzard fixed them instantly.
The quality of a product is the sum of management's decisions. Numerous other problems still remain unaddressed. Fixing outdated content not directly generate immediate revenue, but it can improve user experience. But one thing is for sure, warmed up content that you should play for 1 season because there isn't enough man power in the company or it doesn't seem profitable is a no go. Many players, including me, will subscribe to the game again and play again, as the game comes out. If that's the new direction (fated) of the game, OK. I will definitely watch FF14 again. Now would be a good time to release the new add-on. But what we get is, go back to start and play same things again. Sorry. Without me.
Even being in the cross-hairs of the MDI is no guarantee. Remember the hot trash that was (and still is) Temple of Sethraliss from Beta Battle for Azeroth? Good times.
