Could be used in conjunction with some other abilities to give Arms an extremely strong opener in PvP.

Pop Deadly Calm, Charge, Colossus Smash, Mortal Strike (Hopefully critting). This should leave you with enough rage for a Throwdown/Piercing Howl-Bladestorm Combo.

Due to the changes of sudden death, this now replaces execute in the rotation of and arms warrior. Execute now is what it should be, and that's an extra, powerful attack usable only to finish off enemies.

According to my math, not considering the procs from Sudden Death, Colossus Smash has about a 33% uptime, which equates to 33% ArP over time (Correct me if i'm missing some equation). Most WotLK DPS Warriors, have more than twice that as Passive ArP, if not hard capped on ArP. Colossus Smash seems to be a poor substitute for the removal of ArP. Especially to the most ArP dependant class in the entire game.

I've noticed that my attacks hit nearly twice as hard with this ability while i'm questing, but haven't tested much against player targets. Generally my rotation is charge, rend, CS, MS, OP and I try to throw in a HS if i have the rage to spare. If I get a sudden death proc, I wait until CS fades from the target before reapplying CS unless it would delay a MS or OP.

Interestingly enough this is a debuff instead of a buff on the warrior. Id love it to work for all players attacking the target, but i assume it only works for the warrior using the spell.
This ability is what warrior will be based around in arenas.

Wondering if anyone else has noticed it does not show for just the warrior using it in a raid setting with more the one warrior using it it may be possible for warriors to have near 100% upkeep if communicating. Anyone have data to show that?

I must say that "smashing through their armor" sounds a little brutal on clothies. I can imagine a plate armor being "smashed through" but a simple dress? Auch.

I guess not, even if tank does swim in rage during the fight, it is pretty pointless, as you simply could generate at least 4 times the threat you do w/ this move simply due to not being in def stance.

The difference between CS and ArP is CS doesn't seem to be cap limited, according to some beta testers. 100% ArP really only means a 100% reduction in a portion of a targets armor, which is actually less then the targets total armor. In other words, if you had 100% ArP, the target would still have some quantity of effective armor mitigating your attacks. With CS, it appears to ignore the total armor, meaning there is no residual armor mitigating your attacks during its uptime. So, if this is indeed true, its inaccurate to say 33% CS uptime is equal to 33% static ArP - its actually more valuable then that, depending on target level.

ArP will always have a diminishing effect.

when dr≤1/3(A≤C/2)，ARP=arp;
when dr>1/3(A>C/2)，ARP=arp/(dr*3).

DR=A*(1-arp/MAX(dr*3,1))/(A*(1-arp/MAX(dr*3,1))+C).

We calculated (in Pathch 3.3 when ArP still existed) when you had 100% ArP,there was always a 2.026% dr cap (or more,depanding sunder armor, faerie fire and boss level ) .

And CS is "to bypass armour",which is simply to set the target armour = 0.

This is the meaning of the difference mentiioned by Necronom.

Now I am very curious about this 100% to 70% nerf. This nerf would make CS work nearly the same way as Arp----------A*(1-sunder armor)*70%. (nearly: CS has no diminishing effect).

Need some tests to prove I guess.

Well, blizzard did what a lot of people have been waiting (or dreading) for 6 years: Balance a skill differently for pve and pvp with different effects. Whether this trend will continue or whether will it be just a PTR test remains to be seen, but at least I am excited that blizz finally gives in on the fact that some skills just have to be balanced differently for pve/pvp.

A more in-depth guide to Colossus Smashing than the Spellbook...

This ability is the most important part of an arms warrior's rotation. Armor is a stat that decreases physical damage done to a unit, and since warriors only do physical damage, this armor-removing debuff is essentially a direct buff to all the warrior's damaging abilities. From what I've seen from theorycrafting sources, the percent increase in damage done in PvE is approximately 35% — a massive bonus to your dps.

Tip #1: Always use this ability first in your rotation when available (but not until Mists releases and warriors lose their t13 bonus, which sometimes applies the CS debuff with Mortal Strike and Bloodthirst) so all the subsequent abilities benefit from the CS debuff.

Tip #2: Your passive ability Sudden Death will sometimes reset the cooldown of Colossus Smash while the CS debuff is still on the target. Always wait until the debuff expires or is about to expire to use Colossus Smash again, this way you'll maximize the amount of time the CS debuff will be on the target. Don't pay attention to the shiny spinning glow around the CS icon!
