Lucky Yi is one of the new battle pet "bosses" located in Valley of the Four Winds (coords are approx. (39,44)). He is a level 25 critter with 4129 health and does not have any other pets with him in battle. He isn't capturable, but yields 2x
upon defeat.

For those of you without coords, Lucky Yi is at the stone shrine just east from Wika-Wika where you do the Marmot stomping daily.
I've been taking a sort of bull-headed approach to the beasts of fable, trying to dish out as much damage (and avoid big attacks if I can) before a pet goes down. I started this out using my Panther Cub for the extra Beast damage, followed by my Guardian Cub. I ended with Mini Thor; his extra health took the ~240hp (~421hp crit) hits per round like a champ.

Any level 25 pet of your choice, Anubisath Idol (even as nerfed), and Mojo (all three in this order) also make a good combination.

I recommend
Curious Wolvar Pup
for this fight. His bite (beast) does good damage, and all Lucky Yi's attacks are weak against him since he's humanoid.

Use a
Kun-Lai Runt
for an easy victory.
Quick Attack
is weak against Humanoids and all of the Runt's Beast attacks are strong against Critters.

He's a critter boss and buffs himself with Uncanny Luck before spamming Quick Attack which does about 400 damage when it crits.
He also has a 500hp heal ability that he uses every once in a while.
I used a scorpion who crouched and destroyed him promptly.
Overall, this boss isn't that hard. Just burn it down with pets that do super-effective damage to him and you'll have this in the bag

Ok, so, I found a rather humorous combination of pets that can be used to defeat ANY Beast of Fable. Here's the jist.
You need to start with a pet that can cast Sunlight (
太阳光
). Cast Sunlight and swap to your next pet.
Your second pet needs to have Life Exchange (
生命交换
). Attack a few times then cast it. Do NOT try to push the damage so low that it gets risky; use it when you hit half health or so.
Finish with any pet that can use Predatory Strike (
掠食之击
). Obviously you want to use this ability whenever the opponent is under 25% health.
----------------------------------
So how does this strategy work? It exploits the insanely high health of the beasts of fable and uses it against them. Sunlight will increase their health and your health by 50%. This means that Life Exchange, which caps out at your max health, can hit 50% harder. Most pets with this ability seem to have 1400 health, which means that with Sunlight, Life Exchange will hit for 2100. The Beasts of Fable have about 4200 health; with Sunlight, that means they'll be down to roughly 2100/6300 (it'll vary a bit from beast to beast). That means if you can do roughly 500 extra damage to the enemy sometime during the fight, they'll be under 25% health and be one-shottable by Predatory Strike, as 1500-1600 health will still be killable by the strike. Note in many cases it also may be possible for the second pet to simply beat the enemy to death on their own; this is just a generic thing.
There are two things you need to watch out for. First, on pets that heal, you'll need to make sure the enemy is low enough, and it'll take a few extra hits. Not a big deal, just be aware of it. It's obviously very essential that the enemy be under 25% when you use Predatory Strike; if they're just a bit high, you'll be in for a harder fight. Second, watch out for pets that Burrow/Dive/BeaverDam/block your attacks in some way. Life Exchange and Predatory Strikes are essential abilities that can't be allowed to miss, so against enemies that have a potential to block these, be careful.
-----------------------------
There are a LOT of options for pets with these abilities, and almost anything will work. However, I like
1) For the first pet, my personal preference is
守护巨龙之魂
(though
吓人芜菁
works, and I'm sure almost everyone will have it). It doesn't matter much, but he can open with Surge of Light for a little bit of free damage, taking some load off my second pet; no other pet with Sunlight has a good, hard-hitting ability that only takes one turn.
2) My preference for the second pet is
虚空精灵龙
or
精龙宝宝
(the same thing, other than perhaps stats). This is probably your most important pet to choose well, since he'll be the only one doing actual combat. Higher health is better if you have the choice.
迷你斩灵者
works as well, but he doesn't really have a good choice for spammable attacks; you need to either use a weak attack or one that locks you into doing nothing else for 3 turns. With the dragons, you can Arcane Blast and then Life Exchange whenever you want. As another minor perk, the dragons will get their +50% damage buff when the target goes under 25% health, giving you an indication they're ready to be hit with Predatory Strike.
3) My preference for the final pet is Miniwing (
迷你鹦鹉
). There are a ton of pets with Predatory Strike, and any will work. However, there's a good chance your Flyer will get hit under 50% health (due to Sunlight) before they can attack and lose his speed buff. Speed is your friend; you don't need to hit hard, you just need to hit before the enemy can Burrow/heal/whatever. Miniwing is EXTREMELY fast, so he should always go first. That being said, there are other fast Flyers too, but this one is just my preference.

Honestly, I took Lucky Yi out with a lvl 20 Clefhoof Runt and a lvl 23 Pterrodax Hatchling. THose little clefhoofs are a real powerhouse. Yi does do a fair bit of damage though. so when he had my wee beastie down to 400 hp, I gave him the coupe de gace with my pterrodax for 388 points of damage. I simply did not want him killing my little clefhoof. It was a fast fight thank god. I attacked him just because he was there. Now I know there's a quest I am off to grab it

I used the
Fire-Proof Roach
as my first pet. Used the ability
Apocalypse
. The ability killed him when the meteor hit, after 15 rounds. I guess any roach or beetle with the ability would do. The roach must be alive and the pet in play when the meteor hits btw.

Long, drawn out matches where both sides repetitively heal are not my cup of tea. And since Lucky Yi has a pretty powerful heal, I preferred to burn him down quickly and found a great combo to do just that, based on the level 25 pets I have available, at least. Here's what worked awesome for me:
Since this cricket is, of course, a critter, I preferred to use beasts to take advantage of their 50% bonus damage against the critter class.
My lineup consisted of an
Alpine Foxling
, a
Bucktooth Flapper
, and the
Baby Blizzard Bear
.
Since the combo of moves I used are not unique spells to only these animals, I am linking them as I describe my strategy. This way, in case you don't have the particular 3 pets I used, you may find pets you have that are capable of the same moves.
I started with the Fox and opened with
Dazzling Dance
, increasing my team's speed by 25% for 9 rounds. I then cast
Frightening Howl
, increasing the enemy's damage taken by 100% for 2 rounds. I then switched to my Bucktooth, and got a
Woodchipper
off, causing Yi to bleed for 4 rounds, and dealing a decent bit of instant damage as a result of landing it while Frightening Howl was still active. Finally, I switched to my Baby Bear, cast
Roar
, and followed that with
Maul
, which smacks Yi for a ton since it is buffed by both the Bucktooth's bleed effect from Woodchipper, and the Baby Bear's own Roar.
This doesn't kill Yi off by this point, but it does put him low on health, and I prevent him from healing by
Bashing
him with the Baby Bear up still, and then just finish off the remainder of his health with whatever pet and ability you want. He sometimes has gotten a heal or two off still on me while I finish off the rest of his health, but it doesn't keep him alive long enough for him to manage to kill any of my pets the majority of the time. You could repeat the whole cycle again of course, but I just finish him with Roar or Bite (the Fox) or whatever damaging ability you have in slot one for the Bucktooth.
I guess this is pretty involved considering it doesn't kill him straight off at the end of this multiple pet combo move, but the first few times I fought him and just used 3 beasts without any real strategy, he would wipe the floor with me. This way at least keeps all 3 of my pets alive and gains me a relatively quick win against him, as opposed to when I attempted to use pets with heal abilities in order to stay alive long enough to kill him with various beast attacks in an unorganized manner.
Hope this helps anyone else who has a hard time with him, too.

I know a few people have experienced the same problem I did, which is that defeating Lucky Yi is *not* assigning credit for the daily version of this quest.
I can't promise this solution will work for anyone else, but what finally worked for me was logging all the way out of the game, and then returning
with a different character
to defeat Lucky Yi. I'm not sure if it was the relog or the character switch or the combo of both that did the trick, but hopefully this helps anyone else experiencing the same problem I had. :D

beating him awards no experience

I find a Jumping Spider capable of soloing Lucky Yi, using Strike, Brittle Webbing, and Spiderling Swarm. Keep up Brittle Webbing, and use the Swarm whenever it's up, Striking in between. A lot of the time I end the fight with both my spider and Lucky Yi both dead, Yi killing my spider and then on the same turn dying from the damage from Brittle Webbing, thus ending the match. Pretty easy and quick.

This pet, along with all of the other fabled pets had their health cut in half, but now take 50% less damage, which is a draw. It looks as though this guy's health got cut in half but still has the same heal as they did before which makes them pretty hard to take down if they use the heal each time it comes off cooldown. Considering they take only 50% damage now but can then heal 900 makes it more of a buff than a nerf.

This guy was one of the worst post 5.3 for me. I tried a few different reliable combos of my favourite level 25 pets, but his heal was killing me.
Finally managed to take him down with a rare level 23 Elder Python stacking up his poisons, an uncommon 25 Curious Wolvar Pup for his anti-critter attacks, and an uncommon 23 Scourged Whelping for the Call Darkness heal reduction. Similar technique helped me to beat the 5.3 Nitun too.

Fire Beetle
with Apocalypse (going for the 15 rounds automatic win)
Other 2 pets are for damage mitigation/heals...
Magical Crawdad
with Wish and Renewing Mists (between the 2 heals, should be able to last the 15 rounds)
But if you need another, anything else with a strong heal or dmg mitigation as in

Just last for 15 rounds, then switch the Fire Beetle or Cockroach back in to save a life and you win.

I was screaming bloody murder after reading people saying here that a
Kun-Lai Runt
could solo this monster. The reason was that my mind was set on the Runt's exceedingly deadly
Frost Shock
+
Deep Freeze
+
Takedown
combo, which is all I have ever used with the Runt. This combo will *not* kill
Lucky Yi
...both of the cold spells are weak to Critter class, plus the stun won't hold on Critters.
Finally, after trying every combo I could think of with every level 25 pet I had, I went back to the Runt and examined his other skills, which I had never really looked at or used up to now. Holy Cow,
Thrash
and
Rampage
are both strong for Critter class ! So I lead off with
Mangle
, used
Rampage
when it was up and
Thrash
otherwise, and
the Runt killed him on the first try
! It was close, because the Runt missed twice on the first
Rampage
, but he got a crit on the last one, and won with about 100 health left.
There's a lesson here, I'm sure of it...:_)

This was unlucky enough the first of the Fabled Beasts I tried to battle. Needless to say it was almost discouraging to see how little I could dent it, let alone how swiftly it healed the damage I had done to it. All while it had decimated my own pets.
After reading a bit here, I found some good advice. What worked for me was the following combo/strategy:
虚空蟑螂
--> Cast
天启
, switch out the pet.
Then the trick is to wait out the 15 rounds. I suggest going for pets with survivability. Here's what I did.
昆莱小雪人
-->
冰霜震击
-->
深度冻结
-->
打倒
(The charge is weak against critters, but it provides a stun).
Once that one was dead I used
软壳幼龟
and kept reapplying
甲壳护盾
. (You can also use
头槌
in between, on the offchance it will stun Lucky Yi)
If your roach is still alive after the 15 rounds, a meteor will kill the fabled beast no matter how much HP he has left.

The tip about the
Feline Familiar
is a good one, since he not only is a
Beast
, which does plus damage to Critters, but he also can do massive damage with
Prowl
+
Pounce
and
he can cast
Call Darkness
. I'm ashamed I didn't figure this out myself - I had been using a
Crow
for Call Darkness <blush>
The Familiar plus the Runt was an excellent combo. I only had
two problems
fighting Yi with this team: (1) my Familiar is a P/B and only has 1221 hit points, so he dies pretty quickly, and (2) my dang Runt missed a lot.
Re the first, I put the Crow as #3 on the team for backup Call Darkness. Re the misses, I quit the first battle after he missed 3 times. The second time he missed once but still killed him, barely.

Humanoids that deal bonus damage to critters are a good option here, because Lucky Yi does decreased damage to Humanoids. Beasts often do increased damage to critters as well, so they are a good choice if you don't have max level humanoids. Avoid Undead, as his main attack does bonus damage to them. One exception is Scourged Whelpling, which I would only use to apply the Darkness weather effect, which will reduce Lucky Yi's healing.

Start up with Mangle, Howl and then Claw twice. Provided he uses up his heal from the start (before you've done any damage to him) and that both Claws actually land (90% hit chance), he'll go down in 4 rounds. Because LBW is humanoid, it takes 33% less damage from Lucky Yi's main attack.

Like all of the legendaries blizz gave him zero smarts (my fav move is when their very first "attack" is a heal), just more rng.
My favorite strategy is to start out with

Try this:
Use Scourged Whelpling, Alpine Foxling, and Harbinger of Flame:
1. Open with Whelpling, using Call Darkness
2. Go to Foxling and use Howl
3. Go to Harbinger and use Impale
Two sets of this usually does the trick - 6 to 8 total rounds.
I have not tested it but you could probably stick a leveling pet w/a strong beast attack in for the Harbinger. In theory this strat should work as long as there is a large beast attack following the howl.

Just solo'd him with a Core Hound Pup using Thrash, Howl, and Burrow. Start with Howl to negate the 50% damage taken buff he has. Since Thrash and Burrow are both strong against him, I did two Thrashes while the Howl debuff was active, each hitting for about 300HP+. Once Howl wore off, I burrowed, and hit him for about 400HP. Then reapplied Howl and one more Thrash took him down. Core Hound still had more than half health at the end of the fight

So I found a rather interesting quirk to the way the Beasts of Fable damage reduction buff works that can be exploited to make basically any beast of fable fairly easy to kill. This is a generic strategy for all beasts and may have to be slightly adapted for each individual beast, but I'll include specifics where I think is necessary.
The main aspect to this trick is that if you place a +100% damage buff on the target (such as
嚎叫
), you would think that the Beast would take "normal" damage, because the damage taken is doubled from Howl and then cut in half from the beast of fable buff. However, the effects apparently add, not multiply; as a result, the Beast will end up taking +50% damage when these two buffs add together. This is a huge increase in the damage taken over what you'd expect, and as such, ANY sort of +100% damage buff from abilities like
嚎叫
,
群殴
, etc. are extremely powerful.
Now, for the specifics. For a simple team that can take out anything, I recommend using at least 2 of
克洛玛尼斯
, and then some other 3rd pet (which could be a 3rd Chrominius, but may be better as something else, which I'll go into later). If you go Howl + Surge of Power with Chrominius, it will do over 1100 damage. This means that if you do this with 2 Chrominius in a row, the Beast will die no matter who it is except for the healers. Against Beasts that don't hit as hard, you could go Howl + Bite + Surge, but there's little reason to do this against Beasts that won't heal since they'll die in the process anyway, and if you fail to cast the Surge of Power before dying you will have some other issues.
There are three Beasts that can heal, and this provides a bit of a problem to the strategy, but you can adjust. It should be noted that these Beasts won't get many opportunities to heal. Your strategy revolves around doing VERY high damage per turn, so they'll usually only get off 1 or at most 2 heals before the fight is over.
1) Dos Ryoga: This fish is often the hardest Beast for most people to beat. When using Chrominius, I recommend going Howl + Bite + Surge instead of just Howl + Surge. Dos Ryoga does hit hard, but he has a lot of abilities that avoid doing damage for a turn, so you'll usually have time to use all three of these abilities. Try to include a Flyer with
掠食之击
on your team. This ability hits pretty hard to begin with and will be fairly effective for finishing off the low-health Ryoga after your second Chrominius dies. Furthermore, if you ever find yourself in a situation where a Chrominius dies while there's still a turn of Howl left on Dos Ryoga (a fairly common occurence), always swap in the bird next and then use Predatory Strike. This will cause Dos Ryoga to take more damage than a Surge of Power, even if he's not under 25% health.
2) Nitun: This racoon isn't as hard as Dos Ryoga, but he is a little more random. One of the issues you may find yourself in is that against your first Chrominius, he may open with Prowl + Devour, which will cause him to heal all of the damage that Chrominius does. The trick as odd as it sounds is, don't try to outsmart him. Just go Howl Bite Surge on each of your Chrom's. If your first Chrom dies and there's still a turn of Howl up, you'll want to go Bite Howl Bite Surge, and this should kill Nitun before he can heal again. The nice thing here is that Bite is strong against Nitun to begin with, so while he's random, you can often just overpower the RNG with massive damage.
3) Lucky Yi: This cricket is quite easy in this strat, I include it only for completeness. He'll keep healing, but he doesn't hit all that hard and he's weak to Bite. Just do the Howl Bite Surge combo over and over and he'll die pretty easy.

Very difficult to kill Lucky because he heals himself almost to full strength. I used a cockroach and utilized Apocalypse. Next, I brought in a Cogblade Raptor and used Repair every chance I got. I had a Emerald Proto-Whelp on standby if the Raptor was killed but he wasn't before the meteor landed and knocked of Lucky. Since the Raptor can revive, he had a chance to use Repair once more because Lucky didn't hit that time. The Whelp can heal as well. I had it set to use Ancient Blessing and Emerald Dream, both healing abilities. So, a roach and two pets which can heal will give you the 15 rounds for the meteor to strike.

The
Apocalypse
approach (as described by several here already)
**DOES** work
. I know many think it doesn't but I just did it.
Below is what I believe to be the secret
:
What I believe is keeping people from succeeding is that their pet that started the Apocalypse has died and thus negates the effects of the Apocalypse. It's important to get your "apocalypse pet" out of the line of fire
before
he dies.
This is what I conclude from my own experience. But I've tried it both ways and when my Beetle died, the Apocalypse came and did no damage to anyone, but when the Beetle was alive, Lucky Yi died with the Apocalypse .
That's just my two cents.
Mind you, it doesn't say anywhere (that I could find) that this will happen with Apocalypse; I can only tell you what I notice in my own trials. I don't know if it's intentional by Blizzard or just a bug.

I found that a similar strategy works for Lucky Yi and Dos-Ryga. Start with an Alpine Foxling, using Dazzling Dance and Howl. Get in a Bite or two before the Fox dies, then use a Wildhammer Gryphon Hatchling (or any flying pet with Flock) and Flock. You may or may not need to Peck as a finish. I got lucky on both, they mistimed or didn't use a heal when the Flock was underway, and died. I never needed the third pet, so what you keep in reserve is up to you.

For those who have been battling the legendary pets in 5.3 and using pets with the ability apocalypse you may have noticed that this ability may miss despite the spell description that this is a 100% hit chance ability (assuming no hit debuffs on your pet or block/dodge buffs on the target). I opened a ticket regarding this issue and received the following feedback from a GM indicating that this is a known issue:
"I see you are having an issue with the spell Apocalypse missing pets. You are absolutely correct in that 100% is not a relative term, it should be hitting 100% of the time. I'm not sure what pet battle you're referring to, but the pet Dos'Ryga among others does not seem to be getting hit with apocalypse 100% of the time. I took some time to dig into this for you, and it looks like this may be a bug. This particular issue isn`t one that we can fix immediately as it requires a hotfix or patch possibly to be fixed on a larger scale. I took some time to personally send the specific details of what happened here to the dev team to take a look into and hopefully they can get this rectified soon."
Don't despair! You are not alone!

I didn't have many of the ones people were suggesting so I spent 10 minutes trying to develop a good team, carefully reading each of my pets abilities, checking weaknesses, deciding order, got my healing bandages ready and started the battle expecting to lose.
Alright little Anklerender, go!

2) Hunting Party
3) Leap
... and just like that, my opponent was dead.
Was this just luck? I ended the fight over half health on my first pet.

So I just commented on a team that worked for me, but today I 2 shot him with one pet, lol. Lil' Bad Wolf's great against him, being humanoid he takes less damage from Lucky Yi, and he deals beast damage with Claw. So, opened up with him, used Howl to increase damage taken by Lucky Yi by 100% for 2 rounds, then 2 shot him with Claw hitting for 1401 and 970. Lil' Bad Wolf comes from the Opera event in Karazhan, specifically the Little Red Riding Hood encounter. (If you're unfamiliar with the event you'll randomly get one of three encounters).

Unborn Val'kyr - Shadow Shock (as a filler because I hate killing her off with 1k health, but you can skip this), Curse of Doom, Unholy Ascension
Chrominius - Howl, Surge of Power
He should die the second round after you use Surge of Power, because Curse of Doom will set in with all of those bonus damage buffs. If you get it in between heals, he won't really have time to come back up. He just gets hit with so much between two rounds, heal shouldn't even be a consideration.

For anyone having troubles with this pet you might want to try this comp:
Any two pets with
爆炸
, I personally use
虚空深渊魔
and
步行炸弹
Next any pet with
召唤黑暗
, I use
小翼
.
Start battle with an explote pet obviously, just punch away and wait till he does his
振作精神
, thats your go signal, explote with both pets, if your pets are like mine you should have dropped him between 1200 and 1800 life, next all you have to do is cast
召唤黑暗
, I personally cast
源质箭
next but he is dead before the meteor lands even if he heals once.
As additional info, you may replace Lil Deathwing with any pet with
离子炮
and this WILL take down ANY elite pet that does not evade or block any of those 2 explosions and attack
This approach not only Is almost 90% secured to kill the elite pets (they can always crit you, or do weird unplanned things etc), but its also very QUICK, you will be done with your elite pets as fast as in 4 casts

This guy doesn't really need much strategy: just get your strongest pets (don't bother with Speed breeds; it's useless against him) with both Howl and a good Beast attack, then go to town on 'im. My P/P breed Fjord Worg Pup can solo him most of the time, and a Foxling or the Lil' Bad Wolf as backup will finish the job on the rare occasion that doesn't work out.
And a piece of advice for the Legendary Beasts in general: don't bother trying to level pets with them, as they give crap for experience.

Beasts of Fable
The most effective team I've found so far for all of the beasts is
幼年瓦格里
,
克洛玛尼斯
and a backup of your choice. You should finish the fight within about 5-7 rounds. However, try to pick a good backup for each beast in case RNG is not on your side and you need a couple of extra attacks.
Start with your
幼年瓦格里
and cast
厄运诅咒
. Follow up with
暗影鞭笞
and then
邪恶飞升
.
* You may be able to do an extra
暗影鞭笞
but do
NOT
do more than 4 rounds (
厄运诅咒
,
暗影鞭笞
(x2),
邪恶飞升
). If you are killed the round that you do
邪恶飞升
and you have an extra cast use
暗影鞭笞
.
Don't swap your pet out manually as you will lose a turn.
Swap in
克洛玛尼斯
once
幼年瓦格里
is dead. Start off with
嚎叫
. Next use
能量涌动
.
厄运诅咒
will hit with both
嚎叫
and
邪恶飞升
up (either after
嚎叫
or
能量涌动
; doesn't matter). This should kill him, but if not, when
克洛玛尼斯
dies swap in your backup and finish him up. If
克洛玛尼斯
doesn't die after recharging,
撕咬
until either you or the beast is dead before you switch.
Special note about
云游者啼乌
: You will need your backup pet
most
of the time due to the mitigated damage from
甲壳护盾
.
吉尔尼斯渡鸦
is a good choice of backup but any will work; you shouldn't need more than 1-2 extra hits anyway.
** Edited to rephrase for all beasts. **

My fastguide is the notes I have made for myself to get through the dailys in Pandaria a little quicker. The order they follow is the most effecient way to get to all 22 if you look at the world map, starting from the Shrine of Two Moons.
With this guide you should get some nice Pet Battling stuff and make a
few hundred gold and 500 timeless coins on the Pandaria dailys every day.
Some days you get a pet worth (Auction house) appx 500-1500g in addition
to the usual stuff.
This should be all you need to conquer the dailys.
Good luck and happy pet-battling!

None of the posts here did the trick for me, but a combo of a Scourged Whelpling (I guess any pet with Call Darkness will do), an Alpine Foxling Kit (Howl) and a Kun Lai Runt (Mangle + Thrash) got the bugger down.
- Start with Scourged Whelpling and use Call Darkness,
- Switch to the Fox for Howl
- Switch to Kun Lai Runt for a round of Mangle.
- Switch to Scourged Whelpling when Darkness fades and repeat the above.
Lucky Yi won't be able to heal to full health as long as Darkness is up.
It worked for me anyhoo :)
Good luck!

I tried loads of combinations that failed here in the end "Savory Beetle" using "Apocalypse" at the start worked using an "Emerald Turtle" and "Anubisath Idol" to tank it till it landed.
Two things here i got 100% miss rate on "Apocalypse" when my beetle was below level 25, and also if it died.
I tried out "Scourged Whelpling" but it's heal reduction spell didn't do much at all.

Crow
was the key for me,
Call Darkness
negates the healing. Then while that is recharging, hit with any big damage pet, I used
Snarly
with
Rip
+
Blood In The Water
,
Kun-Lai Runt
with
Rampage
also works well. Always switch back to the Crow when Darkness is ending, Lucky Yi is really easy if not allowed to heal. I don't even use any other abilities with the Crow as I like to save the health for Call Darkness, although you could maybe take advantage of Darkness with a
Nocturnal Strike
.

FYI sometimes you just get ..well lucky..lol After about 7 tries i finally got him with a snake and my pandarian humonoid ( he is a bought pet) his attacks are very weak on humanoids and this helps survives the round if he is a pretty decent hitter. But I got to be honest the reason I say I got lucky is cause he just decided not to heal after every cool down, he only healed twice in that fight and before that fight he was healing every damn time and it was super damn annoying. Anyway good luck its winnable but its gonna require some patience.

For this and many other of the elite pets I use the following team
熊猫人水灵
克洛玛尼斯
永恒雏龙
Turn 1: Geyser
Turn 2: Whirlpool
Turn 3: Slot 1 attack if it'll die that round, or swap to Chrominius
Turn 4: Howl
Turn 5: Surge of Power
That's pretty much all most of them require to kill. There a few that you need to add an attack or two in before setting up the combo to make sure the water elemental dies correctly because they don't let it swap. Or sometimes they're left with like 37 health and kill minius. The whelpling can clean up from there.

Without question the easiest of the fable pets. Any humanoid with beast moves can destroy this guy. Kunlai Runt is plentiful and easy to find in rare, so go for that with Mangle on round 1, then Rampage when off cooldown and Thrash otherwise. Easy.

5-turn, 3-pet nigh-guaranteed (5% miss chance on Maul) combo:
Slot 1: any pet that has Rip or a 5+ round bleed
Slot 2: any pet that has Howl or an ability that increases damage taken by at least 100% for at least 2 rounds
Slot 3: any pet with Maul
I use Snarly (H/P), Alpine Foxling (S/S), Curious Wolvar Pup (P/P). Breeds should be irrelevant but throwing them out there for reference. Ideally all your pets should be P/P, but I think that's overkill. Health doesn't matter and you'll never be as fast as Yi when he's buffed.
Turn 1: Use Rip
Turn 2: Switch to Howl Pet
Turn 3: Use Howl
Turn 4: Switch to Maul Pet
Turn 5: Use Maul
From the above combo my team does over 100% of his total HP, so even if he heals to full he still dies. Aside from that you still have 1 tick of Howl'd bleed effect that will most definitely kill him.
The same combo works for Ni-tun, however you might have to Rip twice if he uses

If you have a Spirebound Crab, Strand Crap or Emperor Crap that is P/P (rare destruction), this elite is the pretty easy.
Just make sure you choose Shell Shield, Healing Wave and Snap. First thing you do is put up Shell Shield to block up to 95 damage per hit. Then just damage the grasshopper until it's dead while keeping up the shield and healing wave on cooldown (as long as shield is up or won't expire).
I usually solo with these crabs.

I have had great luck with Kun Li Runt using his beast abilities, knock on wood have never had problem using that and 1 leveling pet, if runt goes down never had more then 200 health left on Yi

Without intending to beat him, I used
Level 21
Deepholm Cockroach
Infected Squirrel
Sporeling Sprout
I opened with
Deepholm Cockroach
and used
Apocalypse
I switch to
Infected Squirrel
and used
Stampede
followed by
Creeping Fungus
and then
Stampede
until my squirrel died.
I sent out
Sporeling Sprout
and used
Leech Seed
and then
Jab
until he was dead
I guess you can open with
Infected Squirrel
and begin there to save a turn and it will work just fine.

This can be done with only one pet:
In my team I had 3 lvl 25 pets, Core Hound, Anubisath Idol and some other random pet.
I started off with
Core Hound
with
Trash
,
Howl
,
Burrow
(just as you'd do against any other critter type pet).
Round 1:
He will buff up his hp, you will want to use
Howl
to double damage against him
Round 2:
He will buff his hit/crit, you will cast
Burrow
Round 3:
He will just try to dmg you but your pet is underground already so when the round ends, your pet will do massive amounts of dmg.
Round 4:
He will dmg you again so just use
Trash
.
Round 5:
Pop
Howl
again
Round 6:
Use
Trash
and he should be dead. If not, just spam trash till burrow is ready or try to repeat from the beginning.

I used:
1. Rare level 25 H/H Chrominius: Bite, Howl, Surge of Power.
2. Rare level 25 P/P Kun-Lai Runt: Rampage.
Chrominius bursts the pet's health down, then I swap in Kun-Lai Runt for the kill. Sometimes, I solo this fight with Chrominius. It just depends on RNG.

My lineup on this one doesn't really matter, though I'll list it anyway: L25 Rare Stunted Shardhorn, L25 Rare Menagerie Custodian, and L25 Rare Muckbreath. The Shardhorn was the only one I really needed. Won the whole megilleh handily. But I WAS prepared to hit that sucker with the Ion Cannon.... <EG>

My Experience:
Want to turn this battle to an
Easy Peasy
Kill then you should choose your
Alpine Foxling
only 4 round and your easily bring Lucky Yi down without even needing to use your other pets. so here what I did with My Fox (lvl 25) at 1465 Health:
1. Use Howl You needed to scare him so he doesn't heal him self. He will attack you like crazy :)
2. The Use Bite
3. Again Use Bite.
4. Hit him with Bite again or with Leap to finish him.
I have not used my other pets, if you couldn't get him down at this point then you can have your next Foxling ready to finish him, if Lucky heals him self which might not happen then use Howl again and bite him :)
Good Lucky !

Flayer youngling is a winner here. Can almost solo with a flayer. Chrominius in for the final blow. It does tend to a tad long fight tho.

Arfus can solo with his Ice Bomb Puppy Parade Combo. He can solo most of the single legendaries honestly.
