Either Sargeras is laying bleeding tied to the ground or he's actually a good guy donating blood and we're just stealing it.

It is obtainable via all gathering professions, as well, like Felblight and all those that came before. It can also be obtained from some World Quests. It can be a drop from some mobs, particularly boss mobs.

Update: I have successfully mined one on the beta. One time out of approximately 250 nodes, but I have notoriously terrible luck.

Why the hell is this now BoP? my main has blacksmithing & jewelcrafting, so if you have to farm these from lets say mining, I wont be able to craft anything because he doesn't have gathering professions. i farm mats on my alts, then when they get them they will be useless & ill have to vender them. I hope to god you don't get these from farming mats like felblight.

Some uses for Blood of Sargeras, as a reference for how many you may need:

Crafted 815 Gear

Buying crafting reagents (herbs, fish, ores etc.) from Illnea Bloodthorn in Dalaran. See Currency for for exact prices, e.g. 1 flask will cost you 4.33 Blood. She also sells Order Resources Cache that can be sent to alts.
2-3
Using Obliterum to upgrade 815 gear by 5 item levels	2
Cloak Enchants	2-3
Crafted Mounts	25-50
Crafted Relics (+31 ilvl)	8
Some classes need Blood as part of their class campaign.	5
Tempering Darkness requires Blood, part of the Improving on History questline.	30

Sources for Blood of Sargeras:
tl;dr: The best way to farm Blood seems to be spamming heroic dungeons as a tank/healer, taking advantage of satchels whenever they're available (or doing it with a premade group to ensure fast dungeon clears). If you're a dps or prefer farming, skinning goats/bears around Nesingwary still seems to be a good alternative or addition while waiting for queues. Using a shoulder enchant is recommended either way.

Dungeon bosses	3 per hc dungeon	At level 110, normal and heroic dungeon bosses have a chance to drop Blood. From my testing, normal bosses have a chance of ~40% (beta). The final boss of a heroic dungeon sometimes drops 2 Blood, getting at least 1 might be guaranteed. Overall, heroic bosses have a chance of ~70%. Mythic+0 dungeons seem to have a similar drop rate, maybe a bit lower (haven't done many). Mythic+ doesn't drop any Blood.
Dungeon satchels	1-2 per dungeon	When your role is scarce in dungeons or lfr, you get Shattered Satchel of Cooperation upon completion, containing 0-2 Blood. There are addons to alarm you of this, I use Incentive Program.
Skinning	18 per hour	After learning the skill to "find rare materials when gathering", which should happen randomly while gathering. (Example below*) Chance was about 3.5% for me, the amount of mobs skinned per hour obviously varies greatly depending on your kill speed and how much players are in the area killing/looting/skinning mobs. A good place to farm is around Nesingwary in Highmountain, many skinnable mobs and many people doing quests to kill these mobs. Esp. the goats right next to the flight point have a very fast respawn, an alternative are the bears near Witchwood if someone else is farming goats. For efficient farming, use Enchant Gloves - Legion Skinning, Mother's Skinning Knife, Fighter Chow and anything that helps you kill stuff faster (Flasks, Bodyguards etc.).
Herbalism	7 per hour	After learning the skill to "find rare materials when gathering", which should happen randomly while gathering. (Example below*) Chance was about 4.5% for me. (beta) For efficient farming, use Enchant Gloves - Legion Herbalism, Stonehide Leather Barding, Sky Golem and Fighter Chow (if necessary).
Mining	(see herb.)	After learning the skill to "find rare materials when gathering", which should happen randomly while gathering. (Example below*) No testing here, I assume drop rates are about the same as herbalism.
World Quests	4 per day	After reaching level 110, being friendly with Legion factions and having your professions at skill 100 at least, you should receive profession specific World Quests. There are also World Quests that aren't profession specific, but award Blood. As a gatherer, make sure to do the WQs for rare materials (Felhide Felwort), they'll give one Blood with rank 2. As a crafter, you'll get more Blood as the expansion continues (ex.: Work Order: Warhide Gloves gives the recipe for rank 3 the first time, 10 Blood after that). You should get 0-3 world quests per day, awarding 1-5 Blood each. My average over 4 weeks was 3.6 Blood per day. You also have a chance (about 26%) to get 1 Blood from the daily Emissary Quest. Doing the Emissary Quest + all available Blood WQs shouldn't take longer than 30-45 min.
Disenchanting rare and epic items	1 per 20 blue items	The chance to get Blood of Sargeras from a blue item seems to be about 4-5% (beta). (I got 10 Blood from disenchanting 215 blues, mostly crafted 785's.) Note: Green quest rewards that get upgraded to blue or epic only disenchant to Arkhana, so they probably don't have a chance of giving Blood either.
Fishing	~7 per hour?	"I'd say fishing yields are on par with those from herb/mining once you got the fishing artifact and the relevant trait, and a tad higher when you go into the 'instant school fishing' traits", thanks Zuji.
Shoulder enchant	?	When revered with The Wardens, you can buy Boon of the Bloodhunter to enchant your shoulders and give you a chance of getting blood when killing mobs. There are multiple shoulder enchants that give you different items to choose from. From testing other shoulder enchants, the drop rate seems to be very low. A bonus when you're killing stuff anyway, but I can't imagine farming Blood by killing mobs will be feasible.
Other stuff	-	For the sake of completeness: You get 10 Blood while doing the quest line to build the Obliterum Forge, starting with Fire! (gone with 7.2) Transmute: Blood of Sargeras (seems to be much less than one Blood per day) The class hall mission Blood of a Titan rewards 1 Blood + 1 as a bonus. Withered Training scenario in Suramar: A few Blood can be found in chests throughout the scenario and in the big chest at the end. I've gotten 3-4 without getting too far. You'll gain access to this at some point early on when questing through Suramar.

*Example for getting the skill to gather BoS: As a level 100 herbalist (skill doesn't seem to matter), you start gathering Fjarnskaggl in Stormheim. From one of your first nodes, you'll get Fjarnskaggl Sample, starting a quest to gather a few more and bring them to Dalaran. After completing this, you learn rank 1 Fjarnskaggl.
Now you have a rather small chance, while gathering Fjarnskaggl, to find Ram's-Horn Trowel, starting Vrykul Herblore and sending you on a quest to get 3 books throughout Stormheim. After completing this quest, you learn Fjarnskaggl rank 2 and start occasionally finding BoS when gathering this particular herb.
You have to do this for every herb/ore/leather on the Broken Isles.

Testing has mostly been done during 7.1.5, some data is still from beta and marked as such.

I'm not sure if this thought fits "exactly as is" into lore, but powerful entities, like Old gods and Sargeras are - I presume - beings of pure energy, and their physical body is just a manifestation or incarnation (I think the proper Hindu word for this would be "Avatar").

Thus, items like these are perhaps not literally blood of Sargeras, but rather fragments of his previous form/avatar or tiny physical manifestations of his remnant energy.

It also fits that human and animal blood, through the ages, was also thought to have mystical properties and that it contained the essence of life itself.

This logic would also explain why Felblood can be found in plants and ore in Tanaan jungle. Not literally blood but rather condensed chunks of Fel energy.

This is acquired from all gathering professions and quests and dungeons. So even if you do not have a gathering professions you can still acquire these. You will just have to do the world quests and dungeons and fishing.
People should really stop complaining as if Blizz just gave these away like the wod resources from the garrison then people would just say it is to easy to make things.
I like this idea of BOP. Would like it better if it was BOA. My main is a Enchanter/Alchy so the only chances I have is questing, dungeons and fishing.

This page needs a "Can be gathered from" tab showing all sources Blood of Sargeras drops from i.e. fishing nodes, mining nodes, herbs and skinned creatures and shows the drop rates.

I wonder if Sargeras isn't as powerful as everybody thought? Certainly the vendors believe otherwise. I mean, his blood vendors for less than the Black Blood of Y'Shaarj (although he is an old god), and the Blood of Isiset. Even a non-descript Vial of Ichorous Blood apparently has vendors more intrigued.

Also, maybe keep a Blood-Collector Helm handy to mix all this crazy blood together and just see what happens :)

Be aware that currently if you turn in the quest Focusing the Energies, all of your blood will disappear from bags and bank.

The solution is to sell the extra blood, turn-in the quest and buy back.

Blizzard has created a nightmare for alt professions by making this stuff BoP. That and made double crafting professions or double gathering professions deliberately weak to make a craft / gather combo strong, which really sucks for people who have had long standing professions where they have learned a ton of unique and interesting recipes. Really stupid decision to make these BoP. They ought at least to be BoA.

Got 3 bloods in a row from herbing on my druid dedicated to mining/herbing (best dual gatherer class) since vanilla. Useless. Maybe by next expansion they will be non-BOP and i can use it to make obsolete stuff. Great. I have a BS/JC and Tail/Eng, Tail/Ench, Insc/JC, who will get blood how? At least I have a herb/alch, insc/skinner, eng/miner, LW/skinner, Tail/Skin, but 3 dual gathers sucks b/c blood is useless. Hold on to these in case blizz gets heat out of posterior.
Edit: now that my druid has lvl 2 fjarnskaggl gathering, the bloods are appearing more often.

Blood of Sargeras/Order Resources Conversion Rates

When converting between Blood of Sargeras and Order Resources for alts, the table below can help determine what kind of conversion rates you will get. Keep in mind the following information regarding this process:

Order Resources Cache, available from Illnea Bloodthorn in Dalaran for 1 Blood of Sargeras contains 200 Order Resources
Abundant Order Resources Cache, available from Illnea Bloodthorn in Dalaran for 20 Blood of Sargeras contains 4000 Order Resources
Both of the above caches are Battlenet Account-Bound, and can be mailed to any alt (regardless of faction or server)
You can purchase Blood of Sargeras from your Class Hall Quartermaster - they are sold for 5,000 Order Resources for every 5 Blood of Sargeras (you have to buy 5 at a time)

I think farming blood of sargeras is pretty easy when you consider the history of wow. I been playing since release of the game in 2004/2005. Back then, if you were not in a close knit guild, you would not progress. No tight knit guild no EPICS! Miners were were lucky to get an arcane crystal more than once per day. TAYLORS WERE LUCKY TO GET A PIECE OF FELCLOTH. And the thoreum brotherhood rep, dont even go there. Wow today, people's lives outside the game are less effected....no mage is having an affair with the guild main tank in real life and people are not logged in nonstop from Friday after work to Monday at 2 AM. Those were the days when players talents were complimented with added gear bonuses, not like today where the personality shines through a decked out toon and no understanding of what there responsibility is in a dungeon. So it has to go with the masses...everyone wants to keep up with the Jones'said so now unlike then, hard to farm items are in my opinion showered over the paying customers so everyone can be like today's little league sports team. Everyone deserves the good stuff, we are not going to make you farm your tails off for months as a guild to make a main tank legendary weapon so you can as a guild, take down a boss that much easier. Today as a father of four and husband, I can have all my epics and and not upset my real life relationships. Blood of sargeras is the arcane crystal of yesterday, only easier to get as there is more of dropped in your inventory. I can knowingly go farm up 4 maybe 6 a day without a problem. If I go into dungeons non stop all day who knows how many.

Combine the rarity and BoP of BoS with the RNG crafting (without a re-roll!), and it is VERY difficult to craft on-spec gear, meaning you'll burn through these like nothing, as you craft a thousand items just to get 1, then proceed to do it all over again for the next body part. Combine this with LFG Mythic elitism, and it's very difficult to get any sensible gear progression. You can get an ilvl of 850 "fairly" easily just by crafting, but with the RNG crafting, it will be off-spec and likely worse than ilvl 825 gears, meaning your DPS will be hosed. The BoP (or even the proposed BoA) nature of this reagent, along with the design which rewards elitists, really contributes to making this game not very fun anymore.

I've burnt through several hundred of these trying to get my crafting to 800. I'm at 791 and my rank 3 recipes are green. They are waaay too valuable to trade for a weeds, rocks, or shinnys.

Have the drop rates been nerfed? They used to drop all the time, now I get one per dungeon or WQ. Running heroics at my ilvl is almost pointless, but my ilvl isn't high enough for mythic. In a strange place now.

Don't believe a word here, I had fishing rod in hand and quite literally tried every single spot indicated on that map and had nothing to show for it. Not one. Lots of Mackerel and Barracuda etc .. But NO Blood of Sergaras. Maybe it is a bug in the 7.1.5 patch or something, I don't know. But trying this is a waste of time.

I hope I made it simple enough for everyone. It seems simple to me, but I work with spreadsheets every day, so I'm honestly not sure how easy it will be to use for everyone else. If you are looking to farm these, the best way is to have skinning and to farm the falcosaurs up near Challiane's Terrace in Azsuna. Make sure you have the skinning glove enchant, round up the dinos and aoe them down. after farming for about 4 hours I had 60 of them and also picked up a good 30 greens from killing mobs. You will also get tons of skin. Between the skin and greens, you'll come away with quite a good amount of gold in addition to the blood.

I farm the bloods of sargeras off the coast of stormheim. I start at 65,11 and work my way to 65,34. I mount up and fly back up to 65,11 and repeat. What I am farming them on are the crabs on floor of the ocean. They aggro in groups of 10. I farmed 20 bloods and I had 2158 stormscale. I am farming on my warlock using phanton singularity and spamming corruption. They all explode simultaneously.

My experience on my tailoring/enchanting alt:

Trying to farm these on my tailoring/enchanting alt, I started reading comments on wowhead/wow forums - DE'ing seemed to get a lot of mentions.

Grabbed a bunch of cloth from my main, who had over 1k cloth for some reason, for 100 Silkweave bracers and started DE'ing.

Herbalists can get 0-2ish bloods and 70-120ish Dreamleaf in about 5 minutes running Darkheart Thicket Normal up to the Vilethorn Blossoms, skipping everything else including the first boss.

Today, running 5-man heroic and mythic back to back I get half a dozen per 2 runs. With a 417 Prot Pally, I pull boss to boss and then cleave everything. This has to be by far the fastest method today.

When doing the "Training the Withered" quest, DO NOT LEAVE THE SCENERIO! instead, run back through the entire place. Why? Because small treasure chests spawn in random locations behind you. It's time-consuming to search for them, but I picked up EIGHT BOS from them in one run-through, besides the random drops.

My main has well over 200. but my ult, trying to farm the clearly nerfed drop rates
its very painful. its now shadowlands prepatch, there zero reason to keep them this hard to get.

If you are farming this for the quest Tempering Darkness like me, check if you have order resources, 5 bloods cost 5000 resources and this can save you a lot of time, i was just starting to farm them and this saved me a lot of time. Any provisioner on your order hall sells them.

Most efficient way to farm this (since bfa) is to just do the argus elite WQ's that give 1k resources and then do missions that award BoS. Those missions are 2.4k resource for 4+8, so 200 resource for each BoS, equivalent to 1 WQ giving 5 BoS and the WQ's themselves take very little effort and time (just pop open your argus war machine if you are still lv45 alts, lv50+ alts can easily kill the elites). If you keep your alts parked at the argus ship (easier access to table too), then you can be in and out within a minute per char depending on the location of the WQ.

It's my main way of keeping my BoS stocks up for profession related crafting and gold making.

I needed 15 for the Reaves Repair Module. I hadn't done any Legion so couldn't do the Mission Table strategy. Instead, I just went and ran Eye of Azshara, Vault of Wardens, Court of Stars, Arcway, and Maw of Soul once each on Heroic/Mythic.

Took about an hour, about 5-8min per dungeon and an average of 3 Bloods per dungeon. Did not notice any difference in droprate between Heroic and Mythic. Did not both testing Normal since others said they can only drop off of last boss in Normal.

I have LW and Enchanting so I buy Stonehide Leather at 2g use 9 to make Warhide Bindings at a cost of 18g. I DE into Leylight Shard which sells for 50g. About a 3% chance to proc a Blood of Sargeras. I use the Leylight Shard to make some pets as well. So I end up with a hefty profit and a bunch of Blood of Sargeras and never leave Dalaran. You might also DE cheap greens to pick up a few as well.

You can purchase Sargerei Blood Vessel for 150 timewarped badges during Legion timewalking. Very handy when making mecha-bond imprint matrices.

How to "transfer"/acquire Blood of Sargeras on alts (updated for 11.2.7):

Transfer Order Resources to your alt that needs Blood of Sargeras (1x Blood costs 5000x Order Resources).
Enter your alt's class hall and find the Blood of Sargeras vendor (see the "sold by" tab on this page).

This does not work on evokers (or any new classes in the future). They have no class hall, and thus no vendor to buy Blood from.

You also can buy Bloods with Order Resources, but avoid this because there is an exchange rate penalty for doing so.

You can also get more Blood of Sargeras on alts if your main has a surplus of Blood of Sargeras.

If your main has a surplus of Blood of Sargeras:

On your main, purchase Abundant Order Resources Cache/Order Resources Cache from Illnea Bloodthorn in Dalaran. They cost 20x/1x Blood of Sargeras each and yield 4000/200 resources (5000 resources for 5x Blood.)
Use the caches. You now have order resources.
Transfer the order resources to your alt and use them to purchase Blood of Sargeras in your alt's class hall, as above.

Timewarped Badges

Additionally, you can convert Timewarped Badge into Blood of Sargeras and Order Resources (and back into Blood of Sargeras on alts). Although it's probably not the best use of Timewarped Badges.

During a Legion Timewalking week, use 150x Timewarped Badge to buy Sargerei Blood Vessel from Aridormi in Dalaran.
Use the item. You now have 5x Blood of Sargeras.
Follow the above steps to convert Blood of Sargeras into Abundant Order Resources Cache/Order Resources Cache and back into Bloods on alts.

You must be level 45+ for this to work.

The exchange rate is:

30x Timewarped Badge = 1x Blood of Sargeras
1x Timewarped Badge = 6.67x Order Resources

Doing the questline for hidden artifact skin and found that all Mythic bosses drop one Blood of Sargeras. Spamming Dungeons is probably easiest/fastest now.

Another alternative to farm those as a non-gatherer is "running" violet hold repeatedly. It feels like every boss in there has a chance to drop one blood even on normal and the last one always dropped at least one for me. Also, you can mostly afk this.

(See that "running" part? If you bring a hunter, you can reduce that down to a minimum.)

Doing the dungeons on mythic difficulty and disenchanting the epic items from there nets you around 6-7 blood per dungeon. Got the 30 by doing 5 dungeons.

For the War Within, currencies are going to be shared among characters in your Warband (alts,etc), and many will be transferable at either 1:1 or some other ratio that is largely worthwhile.

Notably, Blood of Sargeras is currently not one of those. =(

Why not? Well, your guess is as good as mine.

In the meantime, I'd suggest running through mythic dungeons with an enchanter and then send to an alt at a 5:1 ratio. Not particularly great, but it's still faster than the alternatives.

- Broken Shore also has a world quest sometimes that rewards 10 BoS. I'm not sure how often it pops up, but it's in the upper left hand side (NW) of Broken Shore, where the Felborne elves are.

since I wasn't specific in original comment, clarifying a couple things :)

- if you are purposefully farming Blood of Sargeras, this is not the best way. However, if you regularly farm Legion raids on an enchanter and disenchant most loot, you'll passively acquire quite a lot of Blood of Sargeras if you're farming all the tier transmogs and/or you're after certain mounts.
*note - this goes for every gathering profession - if you gather a lot, you'll end up having a pile of these, but if you're specifically looking for these while you do it...well, you know what they say : a watched pot never boils

- If you are specifically farming Blood of Sargeras only and you don't farm legacy raids for transmogs/mounts, and you don't gather, then check world quests . They are most likely your fastest track to acquiring them
(they aren't the most given world quest rewards, but the Argus world quests give more when that is the reward & some world profession quests where you already know rank III of the recipe)

Especially :
- Any crafting world quest that would normally reward you with a rank III recipe will, instead, reward you with 10 Blood of Sargeras if you've already learned max rank. (may be less if the reward is rank II or there may be other factors involved, I can't say for certain, I only know my crafting characters are rewarded 10 when they do those crafting world quests)

- If you don't craft, then Argus World Quests are your next option, as these have a higher chance of the random reward being Blood Of Sargeras (and more than the measly 1 that you get from Broken Isles World Quests). Sometimes Broken Shore quests give a few, but not as often as Argus. Feel free to farm both if you're in the mood.

- And, last, if you have a lot of order resources laying around, go to your order hall and check the missions available at the mission table. These cost a lot of order resources (* tip - if you're a Druid, Broll Bearmantle is a champion that reduces mission cost. There are prob others for various classes).

- If you find yourself running low on Order Resources, go back to Argus World Quests (they tend to reward more order resources), check for World Boss/elite world quests, in the main zones (sometimes reward 1K resources or so), & look over Broken Shore world quests as well

If you farm Legion raids for all the tier transmogs on a character with enchanting regularly, (like I do...and Antoran Charhound will be mine SOME day T_T)
you'll end up collecting quite a few of these passively from disenchanting purple raid gear as you collect your lookalike tier sets.
You can also get them from class hall missions and other gathering professions.

Enchanting worked best for me because I was collecting transmogs and doing Legion enchanting questline at the same time. If you're over-level and doing the same thing, it's a no-brainer. Some Legion enchants are great to make because they're the best for low level alts (most notably, neck and back enchants).
If you've finished your profession questlines, make sure you look for WQ for your profession for reasons stated above.

For people downvoting me for no good reason :
To create Legion legendaries, you need to farm like 60+ of these buggers for each one. It's also handy to have a stockpile of these to buy Order Resources so you can run Legion Class Hall missions consistently for lots of things : Veiled Argunite, free Broken Seals of Fate, Mythic Antorus caches for tier tmogs you might not be able to solo easily (dang mythic Eonar), and even Marks of Honor for those of us who dislike pvp.
So I'll keep giving out tips for those of us who like to make our things and farm legacy raid tmogs for our alt addiction, tyvm.

Another tip if you need these (since it's buried in my other post) :
If you have any Legion crafting recipes at max (rank 3 recipes & may need to finish most or all of the profession questline, unsure)
- World Quest work orders that would normally reward the next rank of that recipe will often give TEN Blood of Sargeras instead

If you are a Tailor/Enchanter, you will occasionally get one when disenchanting any blues or purples you craft.

This is true for *any gathering* profession. Skinning will occasionally drop one, mining, herbalism.

As of patch 11.1.5 at level 80 with a crafted Dreadleather Shoulderguard of the Peerless and a Boon of the Bloodhunter enchantment, doodly squat. 2 stacks of Stonehide Leather with a whopping 2 x Blood of Sargeras. In truth you're better off mass running instances on heroic and mythic along with the mission table quests.

The Timewalking vendor..mine was in Legion Dalaran, was selling caches for TW badges, that specifically gave 5 Bloods per purchase..unlimited. TW badges CAN be transferred so STOCK up..

Just farmed quite a lot of these for profs, so wanted to leave a quick comment:

1 - Check WQs. A lot of days there's at least one WQ that offers blood as a reward. Sometimes you get lucky and there's more than one or there's a WQ that awards 10 blood.
2 - If you have an abundance of order resources, every class hall has a vendor that sells 5 blood for 5000 order resources.
3 - Farm mythic dungeons. Each boss has a high chance to drop 1 blood with the final boss dropping up to 3. Daily lockout.
4 - Farm heroic dungeons. Each boss has a high chance to drop 1 blood with the final boss dropping up to 2. Daily lockout.
5 - Farm normal dungeons. Each boss has a moderate chance to drop 1 blood with the final boss dropping up to 1. Infinitely farmable.

If you're just looking for a few bloods, Mythic>Heroic>Normal Violet Hold is a good bet. It's in Dalaran, it's quick, and the size of the dungeons means it takes minimal effort.
