One recipe that you will use to level from 525 to 550 (You will cook 25 of these)

One two-point recipe that advances you from 550 to 575 (You will cook 13 of these)

Two Pandaren Banquets that can advance you from 575 to 600 (The smaller version feeds a ten-man raid and gives 5 skill points, while the larger version feeds a 25-man raid, and gives 8 skill points. To maximize “skill-up per materials used”, we will level by cooking 5 of the ten-man recipe.)

The Striped Melon quantity is incorrect on the shopping list.

It should be 65 as you need 5 each for Eternal Blossom Fish x 13 = 65.

The first three parts of Basic Cooking is actually wrong, you don't need to make 30 of each, you need to make 6 of them. However, great guide! Been using it on a lot of characters :)

Here is a more dynamic shopping list. It allows you to choose which type of banquets you are making, and whether you want to risk skill gain on a yellow recipe or not, as well as setting what skill level you are starting at.

With the 8.0 pre-patch and the professions overhaul, the Master of Ways cooking ingredients have dramatically increased. Each Way is now 1-75 and each 50-75 recipes (Banquet of the Grill/Wok/Pot/Steamer/Oven/Brew), now require 1250 of each x50 ingredient (White Turnip, Red Blossom Leek, Juicycrunch Carrot, Jade Squash, Mogu Pumpkin, Witchberries).
For example, you now need to make 25x Banquet of the Grill to get from 50-75 in Way of the Grill, requiring 250x 100 Year Soy Sauce, 250x Redbelly Mandarin, 250x Raw Crab Meat and 1250x White Turnip. Prior to the pre-patch, all of the 50-75 Banquets required only 250x of the 50x ingredients.

I'm not sure if the Master of Ways cooking was overlooked in the professions change, but as it now stands, getting all of the Ways to 75/75 will take considerably longer, especially since you will have to grow most of your own or use your Ironpaw Tokens to buy the ingredients as buying from the auction house isn't a very feasible option anymore.

This was a very good guide but now must be updated due to the changes made to the cooking profession.
For example:
The guide claims that you will only need to make Banquet of the Pot x5
However, currently Braised Turtle is grey at 50-75 skill level
This means you will need to cook 25 Banquet of the Pot to reach 75 skill level.
This will require you a bare minimum of 1250x Juicycrunch Carrots to move from skill level 50 - level 75. This is far more than the shopping list of 375.
