Tanaan Jungle has its own set of seven Apexis dailies for players. The mechanic is same than with the corresponding Garrison Apexis daily; you can choose between two areas where to do the assault daily. Upon completion the player is rewarded with 2,000 Cristallo Apexis and 600 Petrolio (750 from the Throne of Kil'Jaeden one). The daily can be started from the command table in your faction's base in Tanaan Jungle after completing a short questline starting from Battaglia per l'occidente / Battaglia per l'occidente.

Tanaan Jungle rare elites

Tanaan Jungle has tons of rare monsters to kill and four of them are particularly nasty. Every rare elite (Graffiamorte, Rovina Cingolata, Pugnocupo and Vendetta), which is required to kill to get Flagello degli inferi, will yield 100 Petrolio once per day when killed.

Garrison missions

A set of follower missions grant Petrolio on successful completion. These missions won't appear on daily basis though. It's possible to increase the oil yield by using followers with the Macchinista trait. The trait be acquired by using the Inn recruits or rerolling the traits of existing followers.

The 6.2 followers Rabdomante Granscossa / Rabdomante Buonpozzo / Rabdomante Granscossa / Rabdomante Buonpozzo are guaranteed to have Greasemonkey, but they require Honored with Mano del Profeta / Cacciatori di Teste di Vol'jin before you can buy them for .

Naval missions

There exists few Naval missions which yield Petrolio as well. However, these missions aren't very common, so don't expect them to be a sustainable source for Oil.

Oil Rig

Vendicatore Krethos / Cacciatore dell'Ombra Denjai in your faction's base in Tanaan Jungle sell plans for building an Oil Rig for when you are Revered with the respective faction. Building the rig unlocks a unique naval mission Torre Petrolifera: zona di raccolta to Barrier Sea which rewards 400 Petrolio. Otherwise naval missions don't have oil as a reward.

One-time bonus objectives and quests

During the Tanaan Jungle Garrison questline, the player is sent to the same locations where the Apexis dailies take place. In these locations, a bonus objective appears which works just like the Apexis dailies. Completing the bonus objective rewards 2,000 Cristallo Apexis and 600 Petrolio but only once. It's possible to do one or more bonus objectives and an Apexis daily during the same day.

After building the Shipyard, players can also acquire oil from the few Garrison campaign quests but the amount of oil gained from these quests is rather nominal. The only notable exception is Un vero comandante navale / Un vero comandante navale which rewards a whooping 1,000 Petrolio!

Back to topShipsNaval MissionsshipsThe key differences between Followers and Ships

Separate maximum amounts for followers and ships - The fleet size is kept apart from your Garrison follower cap.

Different missions pools - Followers can't be sent to naval missions and vice versa.

Followers are more permanent than ships - One can actually lose ships during naval missions or even freely decommission the unwanted ships.

Distinct abilities and threats - Ships and naval missions have their own ability and threats selections.

Ships aren't as customizable as followers - Ships can only be modified by adding equipment.

Leveling differences - Ships don't have level or item level to raise but their quality can be upgraded by gaining experience.

Mrgrggrgl v3

Destroyer

First of the two ships which come with Equipaggio: Murloc. Definitely a keeper since it essential is almost as two ships in one. Each Destroyer built has a ~5%* chance to be this ship.

Il Risvegliatore

Destroyer

This special vessel is the only ship at the moment which has Equipaggio: Arakkoa, making it a real powerhouse. The ship is bought from Cercatore dell'Alba Krisek for after reaching Exalted with Ordine dei Risvegliati. It is also unique and therefore you can have only one at any given time.

Brgrggrgl v2

Submarine

The other ship with Equipaggio: Murloc but a Submarine. Just like with its Destroyer counterpart, there's a 5%* chance you'll get it when you build a new sub. If you get this, keep it!

Bestia dei Fiumi Famelica

Transport

Nothing really special in this boat, except it will always be the first Transport you'll get.

two effectsto beat oneEquipaggio: UmaniSuperiorità AereaCapitano EspertoexampleEquipaggio: Pandaren38% (unverified) more to the success chance than what the other effects do

To back up the claim stated above, here's some proof how the mission success chance works under the hood. Lets first define few things which we will use later on:

S = The number of ships the player can send to the mission
T = The number of Type threats in the mission (Battleship/Carrier/Destroyer/Land Objective/Submarine)
O = The number of all Other threats (non-Type) in the mission
B = Mission's base success chance

We can calculate how much a ship contributes to the success chance without ANY threat counters or buffs i.e. just by attending to the mission, lets call this value ship Attendance (A):

100 - B
A = ----------------
(S + 10T + 3O)
Basically Attendance raises when the amount of threats in the mission diminish and vice versa. But why do we need it? It's because everything in the success chance calculation bases to this value. How much each countered threat weights, Type or Other, is a multiple of the ship Attendance:

Type threat: 10 * Attendance
Other threat: 3 * Attendance

This also leads us to why we are here the first place: every area buff/crew/equipment which increases the mission success chance are all worth the same the amount and this amount is equal than the value of 1.5 * Attendance. Because Expert Captain is a non-Type threat, according to what's above, you need to find two effects to increase success chance to counter it.

This gives us the formula for the mission success chance for naval missions:

SuccessChance% = B + A * (S + 10t + 3o + 1,5I)

where t and o are the type/other threats countered and I is the number of area buffs/crews/equipment which increase the mission success chance. The final result is rounded normally in the mission screen.

Finally, lets also how all this works with our example mission, All Fel Breaks Loose. Lets break the mission down first:

S = 2
T = 2
O = 5
B = 30
A = 1,891891... (using the formula above)

Now we of course want to counter both type threats (Portaerei and Sottomarino) as they weight the most. From the other threats we can directly counter Gorghi Caotici, Posamine, Rapida and Sfuggente. Countering them all uses up all the equipment slots, but we still need to counter the one remaining Capitano Esperto.

Assuming we have been lucky and we got Equipaggio: Umani on both our vessels, we can counter the Expert Captain as the mission's success chance is now at 100%. We could have used another crew in either of the ships if we got the last required buff elsewhere. The only solution is this case would probably be an active area buff like Superiorità Aerea which would bump the success chance to 100%.

Training

Naval training missions are the first missions you'll encounter when doing naval missions for the first time. In accordance with the name, these missions are considered easier than the missions from the other categories; they have fewer enemies and threats. They also are relatively short in terms of mission duration (up to 4 hours).

Combat

Probably the most common mission category player runs across. Naval combat missions come from a large pool of missions of which rewards vary from huge chunks of experience to epic items. The longest combat missions take up to 18 hours to complete.

Treasure

In terms of difficulty and duration, naval treasure missions are pretty much on par with the combat missions. These mission have always either gold or some item reward. In general, treasure missions are more scarce than the combat missions.

Blockade ( )

These special naval blockade missions prevent players from doing naval missions in the quadrant where the blockade mission is located. In-game they are also refered as siege missions. The map icon for these missions is a very distinct banner. Succesfully completing a blockade mission reveals the corresponding area of the naval map and unlocks all the missions within. Blockade missions always lasts for 30 minutes and blockades reappear after a week.

Bonus

Naval bonus missions appear every now and then offering an unique reward to players: an area buff which will affect certain map area and every naval mission within. Five different area buffs offer things like increase to success chance or boost to gold gains from naval missions. Every bonus mission runs for 4 hours.

Oil

It's a bit misleading to talk about naval oil missions as a category because only one mission belongs to it. This mission appears only after the player has acquired enough reputation with Mano del Profeta / Cacciatori di Teste di Vol'jin and has built themselves an Oil Rig. From that point on, the mission Torre Petrolifera: zona di raccolta appears to Barrier Sea, rewarding 400 Petrolio. This mission is available always.

Starts a quest to eventually open Black Market Auction House to Garrison.

Abbordaggio dell'ammiraglia Volontà del PadroneMappa Navale DraenorianaBack to topLegendary questline

The Warlords of Draenor legendary ring questline continues along the patch 6.2 and the Shipyard is in key role in it. After the player has completed the introductory quests and settled in the Giungla di Tanaan, Arcimago Khadgar awaits you at the Shipyard where you can hand in the L'assalto finale.

Khadgar will offer you two new quests, Non abbiamo bisogno di tessere della biblioteca! and Comando dei mari. The former is done in Cittadella del Fuoco Infernale and involves gathering items from the Hellfire Citadel raid bosses. The latter one however requires the player to raise up a fleet and do several naval missions.

The journey starts gently as Comando dei mari requires you to upgrade the Shipyard to level 2. That was the easy part as next Khadgar gives you La Volontà del Padrone. He wants you to acquire the Mappa Navale Draenoriana which is a reward from the Abbordaggio dell'ammiraglia Volontà del Padrone.

As you probably figured out by now, this won't be a simple snatch and grab task. Before you can wreak havoc in the Gul'dan's flagship Master's Call, you need to find it first. In practice, this means you need to complete a series of naval missions which increase in difficulty the further they go. So for once, be prepared! The missions appear in the following order:

If you are running into problems with these mission, be sure to check out the Completing Naval Missions for the Legendary Questline guide. This guide helps you nail down the missions and advises what is required in order to beat them.

In any case, when the Master's Call sleeps with the fishes, you can turn in the quest and proceed to the next part. Naval missions have played their part now and won't be needed again in the questline.

Great job! Thanks for this! :3

I have to say, Tritox, I was pretty excited to see this guide with you as author. I have consulted your excellent and comprehensive follower guide many times since the release of Warlords. This one is another example of your concise writing style, and the hard work just to benefit us, the player base, will most certainly be appreciated.

Well done, and thank you so much. :)

Commento di 1248592

Hey, did they really remove the Legendary mission that referred to Farahlon?

Commento di bluspacecow

Doesn't cover that currently on the 6.2 PTR you can right click shifts while at your Naval Mission table to decomission them.

Commento di 84045

I added some drop locations that I've found during ptr farming that are needed for the achievement Naval Mechanics, which you could copy to your guide.
Captain Reania's Command is a zone & time limeted buff for alliance and is granted upon completing the special "star" mission It's Not a Gravy Boat...

A pet peeve of mine...:
- "Having built the first transport, the way to Tanaan Jungle is open and you can go explore ~~it's~~ its challenges."
- "While Shipyard is needed to reach Tanaan Jungle, ~~it's~~ its main purpose is to give access "
- "The quest starts a series of quests which eventually lead you to Tanaan Jungle and unlocks the Garrison Shipyard and all ~~it's~~ its features.

Commento di 440634

This is fantastic! Thank you very much.

Commento di Evilry

Having 11 tons on Alliance side. I need more than 30 minutes everyday to finish on alts' followers mission. (Don't even think about mines or herbs)
Don't wanna upgrade to L3 Garrison.
Maybe I will skip the whole Tanaan contents for most of the tons.

Commento di DELGilnandria

Great job on the guide.

This looks like a lot of fun.

Commento di DaltonImperial

Thanks for the guide.

Can you clarify how often the Oil Rig mission appears? The mission page says duration and availability "1 day", so maybe that answers my question on its own, but I'm not sure.

For example, I start the mission at noon on Monday, meaning it should be complete at noon on Tuesday. Will it immediately appear as available (i.e. noon on Tuesday), at noon on Wednesday (the 1 day availability?), or some indeterminate time in the future?

Commento di banokawow

Commento di 1243704

Love Your Guide! I was raised on a sailboat and even after my parents bought a house sailing played such a huge part in my life. Can't wait to get my shipyard, and I will be very prepared thanks to your Guide! Thanks Again :)

Commento di Sataneme

What about crates for your salvage yard. Do you get those on naval missions as well or are they just for follower missions?

Commento di barbosaexe

Awesome work man.

Commento di 186425

Excellent guide for the most part, however some things are wrong (as of PTR build 20141).
Ships are like followers when using retraining items: ship crews are like follower traits and a ship's equipment is like a follower's abilities.

Manuale del Riaddestramento delle Abilità del Seguace Will re-roll a ship's equipment but not crew.
Guida al Riaddestramento delle Caratteristiche del Seguace Will re-roll a ship's crew but not equipment.
Certificato del Riaddestramento del Seguace Will re-roll a ship's crew and equipment.

To my knowledge (PTR experience) ship crews have always been able to be re-rolled, and equipment has been able to be re-rolled since ship equipment changed from being permanent and non-replaceable (with the exception of Unsinkable which is destroyed when used) to being replaceable at will.

I would like to add that you can use Ordini per il Completamento delle Missioni to instantly complete shipyard missions just like follower missions.

Edited for build 20157

WoW! I am trying to wrap my brain around the new Garrison Shipyard with all of its OIL and its SHIPS and its EQUIPMENT and its CREWS and their MISSIONS and it is giving me an Mal di Testa Imminente. That said, I expect that it will become second nature soon enough. I do know one thing already... this guide is going into my 6.2 bookmarks!

Thanks for all of your hard work. It will save me tons of time.

Commento di 1266568

Since nobody's mentioned this yet, it should be noted that ships can be renamed, unlike followers, by right-clicking the ship and selecting "Rename".

Commento di Makubay

To my mind it will be very hard to start building ships in the Shipyard if there is no Garrison resources.

Commento di 1132506

Naval Commander - It's time to start your first naval mission! Upon accepting the quest, Rolosh moves next to the Fleet Command Table where you are to start A Supply Pickup. The mission takes one minute to complete.

I am this far in the quest line and when i try to start the mission i cannot. I ask in chat for help and all i get is a bunch of fouled mouth responses. Any help is appreciated please?

Commento di alpha17x

If anyone is having trouble with the first naval quest. The interface is poorly designed; you have to drag the ship from the left onto the open spot(s) to begin the mission.

Good job!

Commento di Assassiin

This guide helped me out tremendously, I also acquired the Progetto: Squali Addestrati just off the coast of Tanaan Jungle. There is a giant whale shark that you need to kill with a massive amount of HP, we had a 40 man raid set up to get it done and were successful. Not sure if anyone else has achieved this yet but wanted to put my two cents in.

The ships do randomly upgrade to rare or epic when created, I had one of my ships upgrade to rare last night.

Commento di goldens1199

I have a question - my destroyer was sunk while trying to do the blockade and I cannot build another since I don't have the blueprints (thought they were supposed to be "eternal"). Is there a place to purchase additional shipyard blueprints or am I just out of luck. Thanks for the help.

Commento di TheOldBear

The guide has several pieces of ship equipment listed as "Not Yet Implemented" - I would assume that is due to the fact that there are no items/blueprints to place in equipment slots.
However, I got a rare destroyer with the Extra Quarters equipment already equipped.
I think that implies that the equipment that have no blueprints/items are ones that only show up when the ships upgrade and receive a random piece of equipment.

Commento di 1490592

Commento di DaltonImperial

Since I've lost a few ships after only skimming the guide (the guide was much clearer to me than the game's tutorial): despite the tutorial mission where one of your ships will be destroyed as part of the tutorial being marked "Dangerous Mission," you can lose ships on ANY mission that fails as opposed to only those marked "Dangerous Mission" (which is what I mistakenly "learned" from that intro mission).

Commento di kartzull

"a ship needs 5,000 XP for Rare quality and then 40,000 XP for Epic quality"
Isn't it 5,000 XP for Normal quaity, 40,000 XP for Rare quality and more for the Epic one?

Commento di Enquillion

Thank you for the guide. I find myself confused though, why do you say 10% bonus for race etc? I went through the elaborate maths and they seem to perfectly agree with in-game outcomes, but nothing in them suggests 10%. It's obviously not a static bonus in the first place, but even so, even for the smallest of missions (training: sub vs. carrier), it cannot grant that much.

Commento di Teysterbant

Major kudos to you for this great guide. Thx!

Commento di 1244786

Sad news: all those "10% bonus to mission success chance" are not actually 10%. They range from 2% to 4% increase depending on mission and stack additively, can be easily checked even from wowhead mission calculator.

Unlike with garrison followers, it seems impossibile to build a team capable of having 100% success chance on all high-rewarding missions. This, coupled with the chance to lose ships permanently on mission fail, will mean that we'll waste a lot of resources on the Shipyard.

Commento di Yewfire

There are 7 Giungla di Tanaan bosses who are guaranteed to drop specific Equipment Blueprints needed for the achievement Meccanica navale.

Macro code for Tomtom users:
/way Tanaan Jungle 35.4 46.8 Belgork - Bilge Pump (Counters: Stormy Weather)
/way Tanaan Jungle 37.5 76.0 Captain Ironbeard (cave entrance) - Ghostly Spyglass (Counters: Cursed Crew)
/way Tanaan Jungle 44.6 37.8 Cindral the Wildfire - Ice Cutter (Counters: Icy Water)
/way Tanaan Jungle 45.8 47.0 Felsmith Damorka - Felsmoke Launcher (Counters: First Strike)
/way Tanaan Jungle 38.0 30.0 Savage Whale Shark - Trained Shark Tank (Counters: Minelayer)
/way Tanaan Jungle 60.2 21.0 Xanzith the Everlasting - High Intensity Fog Lights (Counters: Dense Fog)
/way Tanaan Jungle 37.0 33.0 Zoug the Heavy - True Iron Rudder (Counters: Evasive)
Additionally:

All rare creatures and NPCs in Tanaan now have a chance to drop a number of equipment blueprints for ships.
Source: Patch 6.2 Hotfixes: July 27

Protip 1: I use Macro Toolkit to avoid having to split macros into smaller parts. There are other addons that also allow this.

Protip 2: Want an easy way to reset your Tomtom arrow to the nearest boss on the list? Just type
/cway and voila! *

Note: An 8th boss, Razziatore di Ferro, (second boss in Cittadella del Fuoco Infernale) drops Progetto: Stabilizzatore Giroscopico which counters Gorghi Caotici. The blueprint drops on all levels of raid difficulty.

Note 2: What about the rest of them? Only 3 other blueprints are available in 6.2.0. They come from various sources. Progetto: Caldaia Potenziata (Caldaia Potenziata for Rapida), is a quest item. Progetto: Scudo Antiaffondamento (Scudo Antiaffondamento) and Progetto: Rete da Pesca dei Tuskarr (Rete da Pesca dei Tuskarr) are vendor rep items.

The blueprints for Munizioni di Riserva, Radar Aereo Automatico, Amplificatore Sonico, Mine Soniche Q-43, & Cabine Aggiuntive are not obtainable and are no longer required for the achievement.
*Source: Patch 6.2 Hotfixes: July 27 - July 29

However, each of these 5 pieces of equipment has a chance to be provided automatically when upgrading or building new ships.

* Credit to Skeeve2010 for this improved Tomtom code suggestion.

Really good guide!
You may want to update the part where it says "When built, a ship will always come as Uncommon quality."
This is not true. I had ships spawned as rare and even epic quality as soon as I built them.

Any suggestions for what ratio of ships to have? How many destroyers, transports, submarines?

Thanks for any and all opinions on this :)

LOST-IN-TIME SHIPYARD MISSIONS.... And I'm still playing with myself at Prison Garrison.
(ty for this guide but...)

Why I dislike Shipyards missions?

1) It's the same idea as garrison missions with few modifications.* Its a desk on a beach dude...
a) Longer missions 24 hr, 2days etc... I don't see the fun in that. Ain't a Bonzaï it's Wow! Cuts alot off possibilities when you send 2 ships for 2 days on a single mission so you wait and wait....
b) Lots of requirements for a mission with an handfull of ships.
c) It takes a long time to xp a ship and you risk of losing it even at 90%? so you don't risk it , you wait and wait for a 100%success rate. So even thought 10 missions are avialiable 2 or 3 are doable in a day not to mention missions already in queue( those mission at 2-3 days interval those ships you needed are on CD).

2) The gold ain't there I don't see any good way to get rich with those Shipyards missions, takes too long.
a) Far away from your town hall desk... Aint alt friendly (even if you had flying or a compass to port you there its still 30 sec to load/DC an alt then port in/port out (another 20 sec on loading) after a few alts you'll get bored to death waiting on the game to load.
b) I'm really happy in a sense that it aint rewarding as much as Gmissions. Won't be my next 3D drug for sure.

3) It's complicated to a point that rewards won't matter anymore. It's meant for doing achievements on your main and that's all there is to it.

*How about treant missions Ex.: you go into a forest very far away (to piss ppl out of their townhalls doing no pve/pvp interaction) Treants really hate humanoids in their forest and missions are all about killing zombies bla bla bla..., could be airplanes missions... bottom line you will get the point that Wow as gone too far. More content sometimes means less players in Bg, pvp or in Raids, longer queues ( do you need to wait to play ?)

After pokemon fights, missions, playing with yourself at Prison Garrison, they had to do another boring move and somehow WOWsudoku and WOWCrossword Puzzle will appear in the next patch...( hope not but Wow ain't the same do you feel it?)

*******************************************************************************************************************************
Just to mention: you could play wow without being connected to internet now because nearly 50% of the content doesn't require any interaction with other players what so ever. A friend of mine did his own private server at home and gave his alts godlike powers like: solo raiding new content, instant Ilvl 715 gear etc.., he played wow 3 hrs and got bored and went to play Battlefield instead :)

I miss 3D shooters, Halo , call of duty , Doom 2, starcraft 2, warcraft 2. Age of Empires... Fast paced enjoyable games. Wow as gone into a meditative state I don't see this appealing for the avg Joe.

If you think its more content look again: I counter red with blue wait 4 hrs then I get useless OIL? or even worse XP for a boat? Gush I'm the best player ever! got a boat to an epic status on a 2D map! YARRRR

Commento di 1464870

You say:

* = note that you can only get the missions rewarding Iron Fleet Treasure Chests which correspond to your current personal raid progress.

It isn't true. A fellow guilder of mine had killed 2 normal bosses and got a mission with Normal loot.
I killed 8 bosses and I've got a mission with Raid finder loot.

If anything, it might depend on average ilvl, but not on how many bosses in the HFC you've killed.

Commento di Redeyeribeye

Just got the shipyard to level 3 and the carrier cost is 2hrs, 200 oil and 50 garrison resources. http://i.imgur.com/v5PtAWD.png

Commento di Smantha

If a ship gets destroyed or if you decommission it, is it possible for that ship to appear again when you create a new ship? For example, if the "Bonus Roll" transport gets sunk and I build a bunch more transports, will the "Bonus Roll" (with the same crew, etc) have a chance to be rebuilt?

Commento di yzq85

Now that many missions have had their duration reduced, the usefulness of a pandaren crew is very much reduced as well. Barring new hotfixes, you may wish to send ships with pandaren crews out on risky missions.

Edit: However, Legendary naval missions still remain at 2 days. Just don't send ships with elf crews along. Also, the pandaren crew buff now kicks in if your mission lasts 18 hours or more.

Commento di Arilian

You can save Moira's hammer from destruction, if you rush build a battleship and send it for the submarine.
It does not break the quest chain either as it will fail.

I wonder if it is possible to complete that mission, by having a battleship countering first strike however.

Commento di CaptSpacegoat

Something worth mentioning is that if you decommission a ship you don't get any mats back at all. It's just destroyed.
Wasn't sure so I tried it myself...

Commento di fasafr

After some calculations on the treasure missions (25 of them permit to obtain the Carrier) other than the rare missions it appears that the threats to counter are :

Threats Countered with Number of mission

Destroyer Battleship 34
Evasive True Iron Rudder 32
Swift Blast Furnace 28
First Strike Felsmoke Launcher 21
Minelayer Trained Shark Tank 21
Carrier Submarine 18
Submarine Destroyer 16
Land Objective Transport/Murloc Crew 11
Battleship Carrier/Arakkoa Crew 8
Dense Fog Fog Lights/Draenic Crew 5
Icy Water Ice Cutter/Orc Crew 5
Stormy Weather Bilge Pump 5
Cursed Crew - 3

So at the begining, to get the 25 treasures missions, it appears that the optimum compo should be like:

3 Battleships (so really important to get the reputation in the jungle)
2 Destroyers
2 Submarines
1 Transport

and we should equip them in priority (in brackets the number of missions with that threat) :

Evasive True Iron Rudder (up to 4, one on each type of vessel)
Swift Blast Furnace (up to 3, Battleships (19), Submarine (11), Destroyer (8), Transport (8))
First Strike Felsmoke Launcher (up to 3, Submarine (13), Battleships (11), Destroyer (6), Transport (6))
Minelayer Trained Shark Tank (up to 3, Battleships (14), Submarine (9), Destroyer (5), Transport (4))
Dense Fog Fog Lights (only 1 on a Battleships (3) or Destroyer (2))
Icy Water Ice Cutter (only 1 on a Battleships (3) or Destroyer (2))
Stormy Weather Bilge Pump (only 1 on a Submarine (3) or Destroyer (2))

So up to 16 improvements when all the vessels are epic, for example :

Battleships True Iron Rudder, Blast Furnace, Felsmoke Launcher, Trained Shark Tank, Fog Lights, Ice Cutter
Destroyers True Iron Rudder, Blast Furnace, Felsmoke Launcher, Trained Shark Tank
Submarines True Iron Rudder, Bilge Pump, Felsmoke Launcher, Trained Shark Tank
Transport True Iron Rudder, Blast Furnace

Notice that Apexis Crystal missions are treasure missions but not legendary one.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Edit of July the 13 : When the 25 Treasures are done and got the Carrier + 10 ships :
Update of July the 18 : Optimisation to use 9 ships

With some (kind of complex :o ) calculation I have found the best compo for me and I share it here if you have the same objective as me. It does not permit to do all the mission (it seem to be impossible or I did not search enough) but the one I want :

All Iron Fleet Treasure Chest
All blockade
All legendary (Elemental Rune)
2 sorcerous
Most of Apexis Crystal
and most of the more or equal to 5000 XP missions in case you have to build another ship after destruction

Missions about gold are not taken into consideration (but can be done probably sometime)

Destroyer Blast Furnace + Gyroscopic Stabilizer ---- /!\ Human/undead
Destroyer Trained Shark Tank + Felsmoke Launcher

Submarine Trained Shark Tank + True Iron Rudder --- /!\ Human/undead
Submarine Trained Shark Tank + Bilge Pump --------- /!\ Human/undead
Submarine Blast Furnace + Felsmoke Launcher-------- /!\ Human/undead (or Panda it's for the 18 hrs apexis "Storm Front")

Battleship Felsmoke Launcher + Blast Furnace
Battleship True Iron Rudder + Ice Cutter

Carrier Trained Shark Tank + True Iron Rudder --- /!\ Human/undead
Carrier Blast Furnace + True Iron Rudder

You'll need at least one Draenic crew (equal to High Intensity Fog Lights) on any ship to handle some interesting missions and it should be easy to get (not like the murloc crew who is very rare.. for me ;) )

You have to try to obtain the maximum of Human/Undead crew on each ship to increase the chance for missions not taken in consideration and it's especially important on ship marked with /!\ Humain/undead as those ship handle missions with more threat that they can carry (it permit to get 98%). Draenic crew (equal to High Intensity Fog Lights), Murloc Crew (equal to a Transport ship) or Pandaren crew (chance on >= 18 hrs mission) can be good but I found the rest useless.

For the 10th ship you can use what you want/need... Personally I don't need the transporter as I'm not interested in mission it handle (gold and little xp)... Even the derrick mission who need a land objective don't need one because it have a 100% chance of success basis (don't understand why..) So personally, finally, I use the unused ship to have the human carrier ship in double as a spare one in case a 98% chance of success mission fail and destroy it.

Commento di godzilla4988

Is there a script to run or an addon that will tell you while out and about whether or not you have a specific blueprint? I know Masterplan shows it at the table if you mouse over a mission (or you could just check the vendor 10 ft away) but I would find it extremely useful on alts if I knew what ones I still need while in Tanaan.

Commento di Tritox

Here's a way to check with a script what equipment blueprints has your character unlocked (a reply to godzilla's comment):

/run print("Bilge Bump: ",IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(38932))
/run print("Felsmoke Launchers: ",IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(39366))
/run print("Ghostly Spyglass: ",IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(39365))
/run print("Gyroscopic Internal Stabilizer: ",IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(39364))

The code can be shortened a bit, but it still won't fit into a single macro without the use of some macro addon, like Macro Toolkit. I'm no macro expert so if someone can write that in more optimal way, please enlighten me. :)

As Tritox notes regarding the chances of getting the Mrgrggrgl v3,

Each Destroyer built has a ~5% chance to be this ship.

Fleet Combination:
Human Battleship - First Strike, Evasive
Human Battleship - Swift, Minelayer
Pandaren Battleship - First Strike, Swift
Human Carrier - Icy Water, Minelayer
Pandaren Carrier - Swift, Evasive
Pandaren Carrier - First Strike, Evasive
Human Destroyer - Swift, Minelayer
Murloc Destroyer - First Strike, Evasive
Human Submarine - Stormy Weather, Swift
Human Submarine - Minelayer, Evasive

Total Missions Simulated: 89
Missions below 90%: 0
Missions at 100%: 70 out of 89 (78.65%)
Average Success %: 98.47
Lowest Success %: 90

Update 1 (06/12/2015)
* Fixed an incorrect data input in one of the missions that simulated the mission with higher chances than actual.
* Fixed Pandaren bonus calculation, seems to give higher bonus than the patch notes says.

Q & A :

Q: What's the purpose of this setup ?
A: Having the ability to clear ALL the missions on the board, without loosing a single ship.

Q: How did you arrive to that setup ?
A: Small code I wrote, that simulates various fleets against known missions. It does 100k random fleets per hour and keeps looking for a better one. After about a million fleets, I took the best one it found, and further optimized it via another code.

Q: Which Cache missions does it take into account ?
A: All Cache types has the same chances with this setup.

Q: Is this the best setup one can get ?
A: Most probably not, the amount of combinations available are around 15 digits long, I cannot/would not compute this on my poor modern home PC. but it's definitely "good enough".

Q: Why isn't there any Dwarven crews to maximize gold returns ?
A: This wasn't the purpose I began with, I might calculate such a fleet in the future, but i'm not sure I would share it since it would cause an immediate nerf, like the one happened to the follower missions. You can still rely on this as a base to start from, and replace a few ships with Dwarven crews.

Q: I don't see "The Awakener" there, WTF ?
A: IKR, I didn't believe it too at first, but apparently another Human/Panda ship is better. Tried argue with the code I wrote, but I didn't found a bug (yet).

Q: I see "Human" crews, Is this Alliance only ?
A: Fleet was optimized for Alliance missions for simplicity, but I did test it on Horde missions and it works about the same there, just replace the Alliance crews with the Horde crews (i.e Human -> Undead)

With some new hotfixes to shipyards in 6.2.3., the one update which bears repeating is that you will no longer lose ships once success chance is 90% and above. If you've never been a gambler before when it comes to shipyard missions, do consider hopping in. This feature also save you some GRs, particularly with the increased effectiveness of human/undead/panda crew buffs.

Only one question remains.

Where is Grgggllmrgglll Mark 1?

I just want to mention, as far as upgrading with 'Upgrading the Fleet' while it originally counts previous missions, if you abandon the quest and re pick it up, it will no longer count previous progress, and when I opened a ticket about this I was told that actually, it counting the previous missions in the first place is the bug, so don't rely on that too much.

From my ticket response

Thank you for contacting us! I'm stoked I get the opportunity to help you out today [: Your patience as I looked over this is greatly appreciated.

I'm really sorry about the inconvenience here. This quest tracking previous credit was a bug, and wasn't supposed to happen in the first place :c I understand it's lame that the progress has reset, but since you abandoned the quest, the progress has to be regained.

Since 6.2.3 never saw any cursed crew missions... are we on the same boat or am I cursed?

I still neeed 2 rare missions: 1) ''the wave mistress'' 2) ''It's a boat i'ts a plane! no it's a riverbeasst"

Thank you for the guide. made my life so much easier!

Commento di MRTF

It's a mediocre guide.

There are many points & few statements that aren't correct.

For starters you don't need a shipyard to get into Tanaan Jungle. But you will need it to access certain content of the game.

Commento di Tritox

Thank you everyone so much! I'm very happy how this guide reached a lot of readers. After Garrison missions, Shipyard didn't add that much new stuff, so keep that in mind, I am pleased.

Legion is going to launch in three weeks from now and most players have already docked all their ships. I've done an update to this guide which wraps up the patch 7.0.3 changes which basically were a nerf to gold income from the Naval Missions. This was the final update for the guide unless something really drastic happens in the future Shipyard-wise.

But once again, thanks for all your support and see you in the Broken Isles! If you liked this guide, be sure to check out my Class Hall Mission guide as well.

Patch 7.2 has introduced a bug that prevents players from decommissioning ships. Here is my exchange with Blizzard Customer Support this week:

I have a level 2 shipyard, which means I can have 8 ships. Indeed I have 8 ships, but want to decommission one to build a battleship, I just learned its plans.

When I try to decommission any of my ships, the "Decommission" option is greyed out and inaccessible. And the tooltip tells me "You cannot decommission a ship until you have the maximum number of ships." Indeed, at the top of Fleet Command Table, I am told "Fleet: 8/25."

And when I ask the shipwright to build me a battleship, he tells me "You already have the maximum number of ships your shipyard can support."

I reset my UI according to Blizzard's instructions, it did not help

I can't upgrade my fleet. Help!

*******************
I am sorry that you have this issue with the shipyard. It is an issue that cropped up with 7.2 and has been reported to the developers to be fixed.

Sadly really the only thing you can do is hope that one of your current ships get sunk, so you free up a slot. At least until the developers fix the bug.

But please do keep in mind that since this is WoD content, it might take longer than if it was an issue with Legion, since WoD isn't current content, so please don't expect it to be fixed within a few days :(

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

"Player gains oil for the first time shortly after building the Shipyard" - this is not true, you can get some oil as a reward for completing Garrison missions. They start appearing at lvl 100.

Thank you, these naval missions make me feel like an admiral :))

Blockade missions appear to be bugged at the moment ... or perhaps it's "working as intended". It used to be the case that you could do a blockade mission and then do one other mission before the blockade started again. Now when I finish one blockade mission, there is immediately another blockade mission, so no other naval missions can be performed.

Commento di Illidana

How does one REMOVE the Oil Rig from the naval map?

Commento di Wyr3d

Might want to add a note to your "upgrade" part that you will need to reload your interface for the Fleet page to show the next set of maximim ships in your Shipyard. While completing the quests unlock the 8/8 and 10/10 capacity, the game needs to be updated manually by a reload for these to show.

I know about not losing a ship if success chance is >90%, but this mission had a success of only 85% and it said that the mission failed and the ship was destroyed. However, it's still listed as one of the 10 ships, and I can still use it in subsequent missions. Is this a further nerf?

Commento di Qoko

This post is for anyone building a shipyard in SL and is getting lost in all fleet and/or gold optimizing. In SL and beyond the use for the shipyard is severely limited, as it no longer grants gold similar to the garrison itself. I've been part of the group of players that wanted to optimize the fleet one way or another to complete as many missions as possible. On MMO-Champion, user Nir created the optimal fleet purely for completion of which the fire-and-forget fleet was shared here as well. Every mission is 90%>, meaning ships never get destroyed and the average completion is 98%. Striking in this list is that it doesn't contain Il Risvegliatore, nor Brgrggrgl v2 although the latter's never been as useful. Whether you want to go for this is up to you, but once you have it, you can fire-and-forget your shipyard.

Commento di Wyr3d

Today I found out that the Shipyard has been bugged since BFA.

Previously, any failed encounter would result with ships being destroyed, unless they had at least a 90% chance of success. At 90%+ I guess they ships just turn tail and run home or whatever? Or limp their way back damaged? I dunno. Well, since all my ships are elites and ones I like, and never wanted to have to go through the tedium of training new ones, I always made sure that missions were sent with this percentage at a minimum.

As a blacksmith, My Belf DK regularly returns to the Garrison to grab the "I don't take no durability loss lol" buff from my resident Belf Blacksmith, Nadia Darksun so I occassional send ship missions for lolz. One such mission just failed on a 90%, but rather than the "failed" pop-up, I got a "destroyed" message instead, and my poor hard earned ships Brgglglglglglg Mk II and The Awakener sank into the seas in a sad animation. Additionally the dialogue box popped up with "you lose X ship lol" (or words to that effect) which shocked me since this had never happened before, and should not of happened in any case given the 90% + fail safe.

Dejected, I tentatively checked my fleet status...only to find my ships quite healthy, and in a state of readiness to try again.

Curious, I checked online for comments regarding this, and found that others had experienced the same issue, even with lower succes chances. So yeah, the shipyard is bugged to the point where the fleet mission table no longer removes ships that are "destroyed" in failed missions. I can only assume that an additional factor of this bug means the "destroyed" mechanic will play for all failed missions, regardless of the success chance, such as I experienced with the 90% fail.

I'm sure this will come of great news to many people who were annoyed at having to commission fresh vessels every time they lost one, and in all fairness I never understood the whole "you lose your ship lol" deal in any case. It is rare that tall ships were every completely lost in battle, as battles were fought to capture, not destroy and more often than not wounded ships would limp home for refurbishment.

A mechanic designed around repairing damaged ships using up the copious amounts of Garrison Resouces one generated would have been a fine enough system, without having to remove a player's hard earned favourites.

Commento di Viserate

It appears Blizzard has decided to make this quest far too frustrating to complete. I recently ran tw0 missions, with 4 ships at a 92% success chance. Both missions failed and all 4 ships were lost. If I need a 100% success chance to complete a mission, this is just terrible quest design.
Not worth the time nor the resources. So much for doing older content.

The rotating light at the top of the light house is an NPC.

You can tell because when you stand on it, your toon does not rotate like it would if it were standing on a rotating object.

Makes me wonder if Bliz used to use those to spy on players.
