S-Tier Healer Specs for Midnight Launch

In Season 2 the new tier set bonus makes a significant impact on Holy Paladins. Holy Light is an incredibly powerful healing ability on it's own right but the new tier set bonus increases the cost of Holy Light while also guaranteeing that its cast procs Infusion of Light. This allows Holy Paladins to produce a large amount of healing through high powered Flash of Lights and to handle immensely bursty damage extremely well when used with Beacon of Virtue. To mitigate this somewhat, your Holy Power damage spender Shield of the Righteous regens a solid amount of mana, allowing you to actively regen additional mana by dealing damage during downtime! This positive loop allows you to be more aggressive with Holy Light in dangerous situations, producing excellent healing even outside of Wings, while also having a way to regen mana in combat if you're ever running low.

Holy Paladins feature excellent damage reduction with Aura Mastery/Devotion Aura, solid crowd control, and party utility with their blessings. Blessing of Freedom is particularly helpful in many of the dungeons in this pool, like in King's Rest where the long hallway approaching the third boss is filled with snare effects and void zones so tossing out those Freedoms can easily save lives. The spec is extremely well-suited to dealing with the poisons (over half the dungeon pool) and bleeds (King's Rest/Blinding Vale etc) that are featured in this dungeon pool. At this time, Lightsmith is the higher damage hero talent while Herald of the Sun is higher healing.

A-Tier Healer Specs for Midnight Launch

Restoration Shaman are one of the easiest Healers to play in Midnight and a strong option in pick-up-groups. Shamans bring poison dispels (Poison Cleansing Totem), a strong raid buff (Skyfury), bonus Stamina for allies (Ancestral Vigor), the only healer kick in the game (Wind Shear), and an AoE stun (Capacitor Totem).

Midnight Resto Shaman focuses predominantly on the Totemic Hero Talent with a heavy emphasis on cheap Chain Heal casts from your Lively Totems's totemic passive while hard casting heavy amounts of single-target healing through Healing Wave, and Ascendance and Healing Tide Totem share a choice node on your talent tree. Raid buffs and crowd control are still a huge boon for a spec that seems to be the most simplified from the Midnight pruning, and its high passive output from Totemic has been handling high end healing checks with ease. Farseer has been receiving a number of buffs throughout Season 2 PTR which offers some excellent single-target healing compared to Totemic but it still looks like Totemic is the stronger overall option at the moment.

B-Tier Healer Specs for Midnight Launch

Preservation Evokers produce powerful burst healing in Midnight Season 2, with strong combo healing from their empower spells, a poison dispel, an "omni" dispel (Cauterizing Flame), a crowd control amplifier (Oppressing Roar), a knock-up (Tail Swipe), and a knock-back (Wing Buffet). Season 2 also brings new tools to improve Flameshaper with large buffs to Dream Breath's Healing over Time and Fluttering Seedlings now able to activate Flameshaper's Consume Flame. Some common issues with Preservation are that it requires heavier amounts of setup relative to other healers in order to do effective healing. This is an area where mistakes can quickly leave you without a resource needed to heal your allies effectively.

A positive is Time Dilation, which has two charges that are very helpful for supporting the party through a variety of encounters that feature heavy spot healing. 12.1 and the tier set bonuses give you a wealth of Essence Burst procs which also fire Living Flames at allies or enemies depending on the target. The spec feels like it has a wealth of resources at its disposal in a dungeon environment to deal with AoE damage in particular with ease.

Mistweaver going into S2 has received multiple nerfs compared to the incredible strength it featured in Season 1. Jadefire Teachings has been buffed while Way of the Crane healing has received multiple rounds of nerfs making your single-target damage-to-healing more effective overall. At the same time the spec has received a number of nerfs to their casted healing spells, making the direct healing side more of a liability than Season 1's high strength/high mana cost.

Mistweaver is well suited for dealing with Rot or Ticking Damage encounters with Way of the Crane/Jadefire Teachings allowing your damage to produce consistent healing, while your Mistline and Rising Mist drastically improve your Renewing Mist healing and duration, reducing the time spent on casting more Renewing Mists and allowing you to focus on more damage/priority target healing as needed. Sheilun's Gift can be talented to replace Vivify, and features a few different options to increase single-target or AoE healing value.

Mistweaver excels in physical comps where Mystic Touch can shine and Mistweaver slots extremely well with Bear/Physical damage compositions, making them not only a powerful healer but also a strong option from the utility/raid buff perspective.

With 12.1, Discipline shields play a massive role with the new tier set bonuses giving Void Shield procs guaranteed from Mind Blast casts. Shadow Mend is weaker than in Season 1, but is no longer a proc and is now a replacement for Flash Heal if talented, it costs a lot of mana but when reduced by Surge it can be a very efficient ability. Atonement healing is around 1/3rd of your healing while shielding still plays a massive role but you will be casting 100% offensive (damaging) Penances now.

Evangelism also activating Archangel can make for some incredibly large shields and direct healing to mitigate incoming damage while the double charge of Pain Suppression helps further reduce intense damage on the party. Discipline thrives in environments with high unavoidable damage that they can prepare large shields and mitigation for the party, and is more vulnerable against high and steady damage events that can force the spec to cast more Flash or Shields when Atonement can't quite keep up.

Priests in general having access to Power Infusion is still incredible utility, Power Word: Fortitude still makes for excellent additional survivability for your team, and Oracle providing two charges of Penance makes the spec easier to play and makes it easy to pool up healing. Some major downsides this season are the high amount of Poison dispels required which Priest cannot deal with.

Restoration Druids are in a very mixed position for Midnight Season 2. They have Poison dispels for the majority of dungeons that feature poisons, Curse dispels for dungeons like Murder Row, excellent crowd control, and a great party buff in Mark of the Wild that increases player damage and survivability.

On the other hand, HoTs and Regrowth output feel significantly weakened going into S2. Your HoTs feel extremely weak against the significantly larger health pools that the increased player health and creature damage pushed upon players in Season 2. With Abundance being capped and nerfed, the effectiveness of Regrowth feels significantly lessened and your tier pushes more Regrowth during Clearcasting while also not making your HoTs feel powerful enough to deal with heavy dungeon damage.

In addition, Swiftmend lost its HoT extension component in Season 2 and the spec feels more reliant on Convoke the Spirits and Tranquility than Season 1 to handle big spikes of incoming damage.

In a patch where Blizzard claimed that they were adding more "Quality of Life" to the spec, they have greatly nerfed HoT management tools and made the spec feel substantially weaker than S1. While they do still feature excellent crowd control contributions and decent priority healing the spec is still in a very weak position relative to its peers.

C-Tier Healer Specs for Midnight Launch

Holy Priest features consistent single-target healing and the new talent this expansion Ultimate Serenity continues to play a large role in the spec's performance in dungeons. This causes your Holy Word: Serenity to also cleave onto allies at the cost of giving up your Holy Word: Sanctify. This talent is one of our stronger options regardless of Hero Talent, so if you played Archon it means that Prayer of Healing can synergize with it by also producing cooldown reduction for Holy Word: Serenity, allowing Holy Priests to mix single-target and AoE healing effectively. Mind Soothe's utility is particularly strong in the humanoid/dragon dungeons like Murder Row for skips, and Power Word: Fortitude, as always, is a good survivability increase to the team. Mass Dispel is especially helpful this season when multiple magic debuffs are placed on allies at once, like in Altar of Fangs when two snare/magic dispels go off at once. If players have snare removal like Phantasm they can use that, but if not then you can rely on Mass Dispel to help out as well. Finally, Holy brings Power Infusion for a substantial damage contribution to your team.

In Season 2, Oracle Holy Priest looks to be the stronger hero talent with Ultimate Serenity pairing with Lasting Words to maintain Renew on your allies at all times which also synergizes with your tier set granting you constant bonus Critical Strike. Overall, Holy Priest struggles with the lack of kick/CC, with only Psychic Scream and Holy Word: Chastise/Censure available to stop (delay) enemy casts, it features strong burst output for dealing with high-pulsing damage patterns at the cost of mana efficiency outside of cooldowns and extremely poor survivability compared to their peers.

I really, really want to love resto druid again - but it seems like it's such an effort. Fortunately, I do have my presevoker on hand... which I'm absolutely loving.

Foolish formatting, Jak. Bump everyone down 1 tier, its the same list but not putting anyone in S is a much better strategy because if it doesnt have "S" next to it, it doesnt trigger that automatic "this or nothing" reaction some players have. Absolutely no difference in the content, it just doesnt send off the conditioned signal to Pavlov's keyboard warriors that only one answer is objectively correct no matter what.

Also you put Disc in S which yes they may be for power in a vacuum, but then depended on people to read the blurb. Their paragraph basically says "S tier only for organized groups, very hard for pugs." So now every pug leader is gonna see this list and say "we need a disc priest right now" and then fall on their face. And I for one am here for it.

Holy Priest is C-tier? Because you don't understand how to use it? It's "Aoe healing" is fine. Very strong and comfortable actually. And I pug a lot.
I know tier lists can be clout-driven, dumpster fires. But with how many players might unfortunately take this page too seriously, I will add some insight here if anyone wants to play Holy Priest. S1 and S2, it is good. it is very different and takes learning. But that is every spec. I enjoy it because it is consistent and I feel like I always have a utility ready. I play it over Resto Sham (I miss my crowd control definitely, 100% agree on that).

I dont play Sanctify nor Prayer of Healing. They were buffed and I like the direction, but not there for me yet. Plus button bloat. No.

Light weaving is very good. Flash Heal and Heal are big heals. And low cast times. +15% crit chance. Trail of Light is 25% to last guy and Binding Heals is 20% to you. Off of real values. Add in 11%+ from mastery, also based on real values. Toss in Prayer of Mending which was recently buffed. This still isnt quite enough. But it aint bad. Toss a few Serenity heals here and there and this alone does a lot. It is also pretty simple and Blizz buffed weaving to 4 stacks from 2 stacks for nice QoL.

Divine Hymm is now viable. I prefer Gales of Song too. I really enjoy this change! But it is only a cd. /shrug.

Play Oracle. It looks complex. It is worth it. Insight: use it for dispells or toss out Prayer of mendign everywhere. Piety: target yourself; turn yourself into a battery and pulse aoe healing out to the group. if you continue lightweaving, it is still good! There is a cutover between AOE healing and spot healing when you use this. Solace: most likely tank buff staggered with Guardian Spirit for big pulls. Its nice. Then you get all three on the 4th charge. Amazing. I would say the only downside is when you know a group healing check is coming up and your sitting on Piety. Burn it quick and move on.

Divine Word is very good. Every one minute you can empower a Serenity. Then for 15 seconds your Lightweaving is even stronger. This util overlaps with Oracle Prominition spells and Apothesis and other bonuses in the spec. Only negative thing is it does not produce a charge of Serenity. Be a bit cautious or spam a few heals to reset Serenity. With how fast lightweaving is, this spot healing can be stronger and more efficient than aoe healing.

Add Priest general utils to that and its pretty comfy. Sadly, dps for healers doesnt feel nearly as rewarding as it did in DragonFlight. So you could argue that with any class. And MDI format now requires a healer. So /shrug. Sorry for long read. Hope it helps!

UPDATE: I have been testing Light of the Naaru & Divinity instead of going for Divine Word. I like it! Adds some much needed mobility and power to Apoth.

remove Resto shaman from B, this is a full on BS. Shamans are well above if not S. stop letting Jak be the "voice" of whos good or not cause it makes people in the game shoo away healers in pugs and in turn cooks the numbers. shaman is an always will be A or above for just AoE healing and all the utilities we bring to the table.

Tier is only as good as the player is.

Resto shaman is most popular and yet half of those players can't play. People think if something is S-tier then they faceroll and game will play itself.

I really wish people played what they feel like enjoying more and doing better than following "meta". Same goes for party invites. A good holy priest or evoker could be in a q, yet people will take shaman even though the player will only spam chain heal, not knowing other abilities at all (man, happened so many times it's shocking actually).

Not going to lie, healing is INTENSE, i love it. Super fun to play, absolute thumbs up to blizzard for shifting healing from a 1 time cd snooze fest to active participation.

What is wrong with this site. Firstly holy priest has moved twice since early access launch…without a single buff or change in any of the balancing patches. It was D, then after a patch magically went to C despite no changes, now is somehow B after yet another patch that didn’t touch Holy.
Secondly…why does a post about midnight class rankings/tiers…have replies from 2025 referencing moves that holy doesn’t even have anymore lol

People kick every Restoration Druid out of their party because it's a recipe for key burning. Homegrown Druids have no idea how to play them, and based solely on tier lists like these, they think they've won life, when in reality, everyone is pissing them off. Restoration Druid only works with Brewmaster and when it's premade.

Dear Blizzard: fire whoever has been designing and balancing holy priest for the last 3 expansions. I'd love to have one patch where its not the worst healer in the game one time.
