I honestly think Guardian is one of the specs Blizzard doesn't really care about given how openly they have ignored critical feedback:LegionPlayers made it clear throughout the beta Ironfur was too easy to stack and would lead to bears armour capping quicklyPlayers also made it clear throughout the beta , especially single target bear threat was significantly lower than other tanks leading to them needing to slow down when offtanking. This actively gimped raid DPS, unless you used taunt more or less on cooldownIt didn't help that player perception was they were overpowered and Guardian puts out a lot of AOE damage on big packs that allow thrash to stack up.In Nighthold Blizzard nerfed bear mitigation, but the set bonuses basically undid the changes for this tier....They finally buffed maul to make Guardian single target suck less, this was towards the end of the second raid tier IIRCOpinon: I also think the spec was more fun to play when you had more rage to dump into Ironfur, an already simple rotation is exposed by things like this as it reduces your actions.I appreciate considerable mechanical changes can be difficult to make, surely basic number changes should not be? I'm sure players would rather values were incrementally tuned up or down over the course of a few weeks till a reasonable result was achieved, rather than waiting months or years for any change at all to be made.BFAI believe bears went into BFA as the only tanks without the option of a slow or other means of kiting without your group applying the slowAgain there were threat issues early on, which were again raised in testing regularly. There wasn't really a valid reason to not allow Guardian to keep the cooldown from the Legendary weapon as removing it just exacerbated output issues.I do not understand why stampeding roar was nerfed. Unless Blizzard tunes a movement mechanic incorrectly it is not needed and so just provides a small increase to output of the raid(you get where you need to faster), also consider a number of classes already have their own mobility abilities.Charge should be baselineAs you mention frenzied regen needs fixing. I remember it being incredibly OP in Nighthold, but it shouldn't be nerfed this much. I'd suggest removal of GCD and a bonus heal when below a certain HP threshold.Agreed that galactic guardian should also be baselineI really enjoy the way Guardian plays, it is very simple rotationally but it is also very smooth and the AM cooldowns are pretty nice. However, I cannot see why I would choose to play Guardian over Protection Warrior. Warrior has considerably better mobility, damage output and utility that is practical rather than representing niche uses(BR is the most common, but in a raid the tank is the last person to be used for ressing) . Warrior also has very strong physical mitigation and kept spell reflect despite blizzard saying they didn't want tanks to have spell cooldowns at the end of legion(DKs also say hi) and in addition to that you can reliably use ignore pain to mitigate spell damage.Additionally both DPS specs for Warrior are well regarded, whereas I think the last time I didn't see people heavily criticising Feral was Cataclysm. Balance seems fine, but typically tanks will gravitate towards melee specs. I raid in guilds that do not make me play offspecs in raids, but many people do not have this luxury and it isn't exactly motivating to think your offspec sucks.I'm also incredibly dubious of hybrid type playstyles for Guardian. Although Resto druids are strangely allowed to pump out decent damage in Mythic+ I cannot see Blizzard allowing a tank to have strong healing as it would cross over into raids. Either it would be so weak it isn't worth using or so strong having a Guardian druid becomes a bit broken, especially in progression where they can now heavily support your healers.
I bear tanked exclusively in Legion and Pandaria. Its time to main my bear tank again for SL. Although it may not be the best tank, it will hold its own. I enjoy shapeshifting alot, So it also fun to play with its different cool things. See you all in SL.Peace
