If you are playing Balance and want to avoid wasting spell casts on Thrash, you need to stay ~20+ yards away from your target when you Convoke.

Not listed here, but Full Moon has a small chance to be included in your 16 spells when you cast this at range (as outlined above).

This ability has since been improved for Cat Form just prior to launch. It will now favor single-target abilities where relevant, notably Ferocious Bite more predictably, which synergizes very strongly with Taste for Blood. It will now also cast Feral Frenzy more reliably as well, which makes the burst damage of Convoke the Spirits much stronger than it was previously for Feral druids, particularly with its effect triggering 16 times.

Is this supposed to attack neutral (yellow) mobs? Mine does all the time and I'm not sure if it's a bug that needs reporting. It also attacks anything in range that's attacking someone else which can be pretty annoying when someone runs through a ton of mobs and my Convoke starts throwing moonfires on them O.O. Thank god for shadowmeld.

Kinda trash for PVP as a feral, 4 sec cast from melee range, even if you open with a stun you loose at least 2 ticks to getting insta interupted, if by some chance you dont get hit my a pala stun or the other 1000 stuns in game... hell you even have to be sure you dont clip the end of the spell with a follow up attack.

If by some miracle you get it off in full - chances are the other play was afk and you wasted a 2m CD on an afk players

Compare it to the DK necro ability and its super crappy

Seems to be a waste of time to use more often than not in arena as Balance. In the last ~20 games it has put 90% of it's spells into either cycloned targets or hunter/DK pets.

It's an incredibly cool spell on paper, and it translates quite well into practice due to the high burst damage or healing over time potential.

The nice thing is that, while the spell is channeled, you can move while channeling, even if the spell that is currently being cast is not instant.

It can cast any of the spells listed, regardless of shapeshift form or talents (e.g. It can cast Full Moon even if you lack the talent, and it can use Thrash in Moonkin form).

how does it works exactly? i was in 1v2 situation and i was low hp but both enemy melee were rooted so i just used convoke and insted of doing dmg i only heal myself.
also if i play agianst DK i hit all his adds but not enemies.. like wtf ?

The spec-wise tooltip is kinda funky but you can actually cast non-spec abilities if you take the appropriate secondary affinity talent (the one that gives you an in-spec "offspec" so to speak). So feral with balance affinity could get starfall in moonkin form when I tested it out a couple weeks ago. Not 100% sure if this is intended behaviour though.

Oh, and remember these spells get affected by other abilities and cooldowns. For example balance gets a bonus from eclipses and celestial alignment, so if Convoke casts Starfall then it gets the eclipse damage buffs. And astral is both nature and arcane so during celestial it gets both bonuses. Naguura explains it pretty well. It's bound to be similar for other specs (eg Resto cooldown Incarnation: Tree of Life). Overall combining cooldowns seems to exponentially improve the power of convoke.

This spell is overpowered as &*!@. I was just in a Battle for Gilneas, I died in this spell's duration from 1 druid. Just 1. Killed me in the time it takes to channel, no one else was helping. I'm in full season 3 PvP gear.
