These award 2 skill points toward that profession, 3 points for Secondary Skills. Dragonflight-era Professions will also award +3 Knowledge and 15x Artisan's Mettle. You will need a minimum skill level of 1 in any expansion's profession to pick up the quest. If you're max level in one expansion's professions, you'll get 3 points toward the profession in the previous expansion, or farther down depending on which you have at maximum level. For example, if you have max-level Dragonflight cooking, you will earn 3 points in Shadowlands Cooking if you don't have that maxxed.

The Darkmoon Faire was started by Silas Darkmoon. He and the DMF are the center focus for the book Blood Runs Thicker, one of the Warcraft Legends series written by Tim Beedle.

The Tauren Chieftains' who preform the song "Power of the Horde" at the top of every hour, are the alter egos of a few Blizzard employees, including Mike Morhaime (CEO) and Samwise Didier (Art Director). They were originally known as the Tenth Level Tauren Chieftains (level 10 being the highest level a tauren chieftain hero could be in Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos)

If you see some greenish glittering fairy dust looking "mist," you're near a ghost. Yup that's right, there are ghosts on Darkmoon Island. You're toon will have to die in order to actually see them and talk to them. The easiest way is to use your Ra'sha's Sacrificial Dagger. If you don't have one, I suggest drowning your toon or letting a world boss nom you to be the easiest way to check-out. (Just sounds so morbidly wrong, LOL!)
Anywhoo... while your toon's dead say hello to Martha Weller, Franklin Jenner, Kupp Coincare, Brendon Paulson, Arlon Surehoof, Sithera Wellspun, or Zazla

You can do a little Dolittle and talk to some of the animals in the Petting Zoo. (Also, the animals in the petting zoo change from time to time.)

There's a vendor hiding in the woods named Rona Greenteeth who sells such items as Beer-Basted Short Ribs & Last Month's Mutton.

There's another vendor hiding in plain sight under a small tent, Chester who sells Vestments and Oddities like Noblewoman's Finery, Haunting Memento, and Last Deck of Nemelex Xobeh

Gelvas Grimegate sells silly things and toys like Darkmoon Whistle, Darkmoon "Tiger", Darkmoon "Dragon", Darkmoon Flower, etc.

There's an underwater cave at roughly 74,40 under a shipwreck. It looks like a Vash'jir cave and there are NPCs in it called Erinys, who walk around and cry. When you kill one, she drops Broken Promises which is a quest item you can turn in at level 100. This quest rewards a toy called Ring of Broken Promises

The BMAH sells the Darkmoon Ticket Fanny Pack that can contain a few hundred tickets

There are four tonk controllers at the sandbox when you first enter on the left. Players can control them for their own personal tonk battle against each other!

You need to be exalted with the Darkmoon Faire (along with several other factions) for the Feats of Strength Achievement Insane in the Membrane (Rewards the title "the Insane")

The Music Roll: Darkmoon Carousell is available from Chester for 90

Comment by 561746

Excellent guide. It nice to be able to hit a guide like this for DMF since i tend to forget about some of the ticket sources and I'm finally getting off my arse and trying to do this rep grind. Gotta collect all the pets too

Comment by Razeew

Hey mate! Thank you ALOT for this guide. :)

I have one doubt tho, if each Daily Quest reward is only 1 Ticket, how do you say the total of the daily quests is 35 tickets?

Thank you! :)

Comment by Razeew

Ah! For the total days! Gotcha! I recently started playing WoW again (quit before Naxxramas), and my friend showed me the awesome Heirloom items for leveling, and by chance I stumbled upon them on the DFM, so I'm grinding tickets to get em. :)

Don't think I will make it this fair tho. :S
We'll see. :)

Thank you very much again.

Edit: What are the requirements to be able to challenge the pet master, btw?

Edit2: I removed the first buff from sayge by right clicking and he doesnt give a second one, he tells me to return several hours later.

Comment by 1070247

Simple guide for those who are starting Darkmoon Faire. This is the first guide I have given a 5 rating to. Added bit that makes this guide special to me is that author took time to edit screen shots and overlayed 'paintshop' marks.

..And lets face it, if were taking the time to look up a guide rather then playing we want it idiot proof so we can spend the most time playing.

Thanks for the nice guide

Comment by Razeew

"Anyone can battle the pet master" This is not true, I'm level 40, with my highest pet being 5 and I don't get the option to fight him.

Comment by 1098946

Great guide. A few hints on how to beat the various mini-games in one or two shots would make it even better :)

Comment by BrookeGravitt

Excellent guide!

Comment by Auden

Awesome guide, thanks!

I think now that Den Mother Moonfang is up around every hour, the easiest way to get dead in order to talk to ghosts - if you don't mind waiting the hour - is to go to this fight and stand in fire. I get bored waiting to drown. :) (On a PvP server you probably don't even have to bother standing in fire since you will be flagged by the time you get to the boss.)

A suggestion: you might clarify that the 145 total possible tickets per week is lower for lower level toons: 25 less (120) for toons under 85 (because of the two artifact quests that require level 85), another 3 less (117) for toons 15-19 (because you can't train Archaeology until 20) and it's much lower for a toon under 15 (because none of the artifact quests are available - I think it will be 62, but I'm not sure if there are any other limits that apply at low levels). I'm sure you're planning to add that it will be 155 with the Moonfang's Pelt quest, but that also will only be for 85+.

Some people have said you can get an extra 5 if DMF starts at, say, midnight, but daily quest reset is at 03:00, and you do the mini-game quests during that brief time on the first morning. But I don't know if that is still possible. I think they might have made DMF start at daily quest reset time now.

Comment by opalexian

AMAZING GUIDE! Very impressed with the thorough descriptions and concise instructions. You get my vote! :)

Comment by dRAEMtYGER

Very good guide. But for the quest It's Hammer Time you have "Baby", "Horse", and "Hogger". The joke is that the game is Whack-A-Gnoll (a.k.a. Whack-A-Mole IRL). So it's a baby gnoll, common gnoll and Hogger (awesome gnoll). Though now that you point it out the in-game puppets do look like horses...

Edit: now that GamerSmoosh has updated the images this note is now just for historic purposes. Still a great guide!

Comment by XxSXBxX

Amazing guide. I've been gone from WoW for a chunk of time, and when I came back I come to learn that Darkmoon Fair was completely reworked. I couldn't of been more lost, although thanks to this I have a pretty good idea of what to do, and it covers just about everything there is to do.

Comment by furdude2

FYI, as long as you have the Whee Buff, you don't consume tickets to the Carousel. So if you keep the buff from Faire to Faire, you'll only need 1 ticket. Also, you can stack Darkmoon Prize Ticket <--those on one character by sending all your Darkmoon Game Prize to one character ;) i.e You can get like 55+ per day on one guy if you have max realms, if your really pushing hard you can get 110 items on day 2! Also you can save Darkmoon Top Hat for after DMF, by not looting them from the boxes, as long as you keep them in the box, they won't disappear, but when you do take them out, normal rules apply, disappear if logged out, or die while using. A change happened at some point, now the Top Hats are only usable during DMF no more stashing 50 when its over to keep the buff.

Comment by 1221285

I have my eye on several items for sale at the Darkmoon Faire using Darkmoon tickets. I am wondering what level is required to get into the faire? I don't have to spell out what I am thinking. Unfortunately, the faire just ended so I can't test out my theories. I am trying to maximize the number of tickets I can get. I already know the "Darkmoon Game Prize" is not bound and can be sent to my other chars. I am sure there is something that would stop me from doing what I am thinking of doing. It can't be that easy, can it? I think I can create 11 chars on a single realm. You do the math. So, just tell me what is wrong with my theory so I can move on to other things.

Thanks

Comment by Nuolong

Nice guide! It's very detailed and pretty much answers all the questions I'd have for the Darkmoon Faire!

Comment by furdude2

"Fun Fact" :D the Gnolls(not horses) face you when they come up, i.e you'll know which one was later by the way they face, this includes all 3, babies, regulars an hoggers.

Edit! :D DMF boxes not only can be mailed (to anyone) they can be Guildbanked!

Comment by 1255050

Good guide - thanks!

Fr the Profession quests - if you forget a profession after doing the DMF related quest, and learn a different profession, you can do the DMF quest for the new profession in the same DMF (after raising it to 75+, of course).

Will be happy to resticky the guide when updated for 6.0.2!

Comment by free2bmenow

Very well done guide. I use it as a reminder every time I go to the faire. I do have one thing you might want to add in way of explanation.

Profession Quest
Archeology

Yes, you can buy crates from the MOP spirit of harmony vendor, it takes 3 spirits to purchase one crate. It may take more than one crate to get the 15 fragments needed for the quest. Additionally, if your archeology is not 600 you can not trade the box in to Brann Bronzebeard - it requires 600 lvl archeology.

Thank you for making this guide. It was very helpful when I needed to upgrade my heirlooms.

Comment by TheRealSaiph

I think the guide needs a small update concerning the Darkmoon Faire Mystic Mages who can teleport you to the portal. The guide simply says that they can be found in all major cities, but I'm searching all around Darnassus and I can't find one anywhere. Have they been changed/removed in one of the recent patches, I wonder? EDIT: I couldn't find a Mage anywhere in Darnassus, so I went to the Temple of the Moon, jumped through the portal to The Exodar, and found a Mage nearby. That's probably the quickest way to Darkmoon Isle from Darnassus now.

I love your guide to the Dark Moon Faire alot like finding out the secrets to Disneyland. Lots of information I wasn't aware of. DMF actually helped out when I wanted to take my Alt in dungeons.. My valor points were just spent upgrading my mains gear (and I didnt really know the importance of BOA gear) but a guildmate suggested I go purchase BOA gear from the Faire with prize tickets! Who would have thought.. anyway Thanks for the guide.

Comment by bogmore

Your hogger game guide says the second one is a horse, it's not it's a Riverpaw Gnoll.

Comment by ikoala

One thing I don't get...
"Firebird's Challenge" is mentioned among the achievements. But not among the daily quests.
So, 6 quests per day for 7 days nets 42 tickets.

Comment by Razzeltov

If nothing else, the profession portion of this guide makes it great. Easy to see exactly what each of my alts need for a quick boost.

Thank You!

Comment by donotpay

Nice. Does anyone know if Blizzard plans to fix the bugs? 1) Firebird - a) go through ring, no credit given b) quest stops before time has expired (early slow fall) 2) Whack a Gnoll - a) stunned even though hit a gnoll or hogger 3) Target Turtle - a) the turtle doesn't "wander" on it's new path; appears to be too amped from doing meth. I could go on, but I think I'll just go.

Hi there - awesome guide, love it, will defo be recommending it to others! One point of interest is that El's Anglin is still currently offline :/

Comment by 761362

If you're playing on a free account, it may be worth your while to do all the profession quests.

It can take a while, since you have to level each one up to 75 to do the quests, only to drop the profession afterward and pick up a new one. However, if you finish every single one (not including Archaeology) you'll have a total of 53 tickets out of the quests instead of the 20 that the guide suggests.

Comment by Zugetz

I noticed in the pet battle vids the author is using a different UI for the pet battle than the default. Anyone know what add-on it is? Thx.

Comment by 1494944

First of all, Kissashark, cudos for a great guide. A real help for all that wants to get most out of the DMF.
To add to your guide, there is great news for all that are hunting for tickets! (free accounts too!)

There now is a new quest available that has a 100 ! tickets reward.
When at the Faire you first need to fish 100 darkmoon daggermaw's.
With a 100 % droprate it will take you about 20 minutes to catch them. Sometimes when you're lucky you catch a bloated thresher, that will give you a lot of gold and 6 or 10 darkmoon daggermaws when opened.
With the 100 darkmoon daggermaws you can buy a 'Faded treasure map" at the npc 'Galissa Sundew" .
She can be found in the stand with the fishing trainer on the boardwalk on the DMF.
With the map you can start a quest, called Silas' Secret Stash'.
The quest wants you to find 5 clues, all to be found on the Darkmoon island.
At the end you will get a treasure, that, when opened, will give you some elixers AND, yeeh, 100 tickets!
Make sure to open the treasure first before ending the quest. I ve read that if you finish first, you only get the elixers.
Don't know for sure, because I didn't dare to try ;-)
For an exact whereabout of the clues, just search for the quest on this site. For a map see the comment by 'Vainio' , click his link for a 'visual aid'
Good luck and enjoy hunting for clues ;-)
Oh, and the quest is NOT account bound, so you can do it on all chars ;-)
And extra note, for the fourth clue, when you are on the entrance road from the portal to the faire going down, just after you pass the npc with the 2 striders, you first get an arrow pointing left, then one pointing right, and just after that, when the road bends to the right, on your right is an DMF banner, reddish. Step of the road there and below that banner you'll find the fourth clue burried in some dirt.

Comment by 1545596

Instead of saying the portal is "Just Outside" of Thunderbluff, have it say its Just Southwest of Thunderbluff so people like myself don't have to fly around the city looking for it. Coords are 36,35 by the way.

Great guide !

In the section called "Trademark Fortunes - 2 Hour Buffs" the notes that say:
...If you happen to get Sayge's Fortune #23 ... smile! Because you now have a quest for extra loot! ...
those quest fortunes were removed from the game.
http://wow.gamepedia.com/Sayge's_Fortunes#History :
(The subject of this section has been removed from World of Warcraft in patch 4.3.0.)

Thanks for creating and maintaining one of the best guides of all time !

Comment by 1370823

good guide, but needs to be updated for bfa :D

Comment by Vashnik

The Battle for Azeroth pre-patch has completely screwed up the timing for The Human Cannonball. Without using any slow-falling buffs, the "1" second timing no longer applies. It is roughly 2 seconds, give or take 0.1 to 0.2 seconds. I have not been able to get the bullseye in 8.0.x yet, so I am unable to give the exact time to "release" the wings. I spent about 8x Darkmoon Game Token

Comment by digibluez

Can I get darkmoon dungeon artifacts from trivial dungeons at max level?

Comment by WokkaD

Note that the Darkmoon Faire vendors require you to have the item(s) in your bags, not the bank.

To play the games, you need the Darkmoon Game Tokens in your bags.

To complete the profession quests requiring crafting items, they must be in your bags.

The Darkmoon Prize Tickets are "currency" and found under your "Currency" tab.

Updated/fixed macros that shows if character completed profession quests (macro prints all professions names. Red color means that quest is completed):

Primary professions:
/run a=29506 c="\124cff" d={a,'Alch',a+2,'BS',a+4,'Ench',a+5,'Eng',a+8,'Herb',a+9,'Insc',a+10,'JC',a+12,'Min',a+11,'LW',a+13,'Skin',a+14,'Tailo'} for i=1,22,2 do print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(d) and c.."ff0000" or c.."00ff00", d) end

Secondary professions:
/run local d={29507,'Archaeology',29509,'Cooking',29513,'Fishing'} for i=1,6,2 do print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(d) and "\124cffff0000" or "\124cff00ff00", d) end

Quick macro - shows if ANY profession quest (primary of secondary) was completed (can be used to see if your current toon visited DMF island this event). Result is "Completed" or "Not Compelted":
/run a=29506;d={a,a+2,a+4,a+5,a+8,a+9,a+10,a+12,a+11,a+13,a+14,a+1,a+3,a+7};r=nil for i=1,14,1 do r = r or C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(d) end print(r and "\124cffff0000 " or "\124cff00ff00Not ", "Completed")

Excellent guide!

The only point I want to add is that for the "Taking the Show on the Road" achievement, you don't need to spend 60 Darkmoon Price Tickets buying fireworks from Boomie Sparks <Fireworks>, you can just use the "Everlasting Darkmoon Firework" toy from the achievement "Rocketeer: Gold".

Comment by ShiladityaCT

This guide is so very amazing. I still use this every time DMF is in town. Especially to know what mats to get before I go in. Thank you for making this. :)

Comment by KireynDRezyn

The old strategy with the Darkmoon Tonk doesn't work anymore after updates in Legion. I saw a comment mention Molten Corgi and it has worked for me however it is no longer obtainable. Blazehound is one of 3 pets with the Puppies of the Flame (the other is Tinder Pup who does not have a strong elemental attack. However he is great against Squirt with Retrieve being the only skill i could find to replace Sweep from the Enchanted Broom).

Anyways my goal was to find Cheap Reliable Replacements for both Darkmoon Faire Pet Masters that are consistent with 2 pet strategies so you can level a pet if you want. Pro Tip use an Alt that you are leveling slowly and they will get decent experience and you can log out after the 2 Pet Battles so you can preserve your Pet XP Buff Food for most of the week. You will need Lesser Pet Treat, Pet Treat, Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling, Blazehound S/B & P/B Preferred, P/P can work but has more variance due to being slow and taking way more damage than the other breeds, Worg Pup, & Runeforged Servitor. Make sure all 4 pets are level 25 and are Rare Quality.

I always start with Jeremy Feasel to level my pet from 1 to 14 (with food buffs) so they can take a hit in the next Daily.

Jeremy Feasel (This awards 5 Darkmoon Prize Ticket)

Slot 1: Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling (Moves: Breath, Thunderbolt, Decoy)
Slot 2: Blazehound S/B & P/B Preferred, P/P can work but has more variance (Moves: Obsidian Bite, Frenzy, Puppies of the Flame)
Slot 3: Leveling Pet (no damage will be taken so you can use any pet @ any level you like)

Judgment
1: Breath
2: Decoy (this will give you a free attack as well as sometimes blocking Eyeblast which can cause this strategy to fail)
3: Breath (Use this until Judgment Dies. With luck 3 strong hits will kill him, 4 on average though)

Honky-Tonk
1: Thunderbolt (While this does good damage it is more important to sometimes absorb Shock and Awe 25% to stun)
2: Switch to Blazehound
3: Frenzy
4: Puppies of the Flame
5: Obsidian Bite until Honky-Tonk Dies

Fezwick
1: Immediately swap to your Leveling Pet (Fezwick will always use Clobber which is a 100% Stun)
2: Swap to Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling
3: Thunderbolt (Banana Barrage makes Decoy pointless)
4: Breath until your Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling Dies (Normally only able to get 1 attack off)
5a: Swap to Blazehound S/B or P/B use Frenzy. Now use Puppies of the Flame Hopefully Fezwick's HP is low enough that this will finish him.
5b: Swap to Blazehound P/P and use Puppies of the Flame Hopefully Fezwick's HP is low enough that this will finish him. This breed is slower than the others and will barely have enough HP to cast this, thankfully this breed hits hard enough that it can still win though. It is possible to die here or fail to kill Fezwick with this breed.

The second daily with Christoph VonFeasel will level your Level 14 Pet from earlier to level 20. I personally always use stones to finish off the last 5 levels either 1 Fel-Touched Battle-Training Stone or 5 Flawless Battle-Training Stone.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Christoph VonFeasel (This awards 10 Darkmoon Prize Ticket)

Slot 1: Worg Pup (Moves: Flurry, Crouch, Dazzling Dance)
Slot 2: Runeforged Servitor (Moves: Wind-Up, Supercharge, Any) Iron Starlette also works but he is a quest reward and is pricey is comparison.
Slot 3: Leveling Pet (needs at least 160hp)

Syd
1: Dazzling Dance
2: Crouch
3-6: Flurry (use this until Crouch is off cooldown)
7: Crouch (This is really important, Even if you could kill Syd with another Flurry you need to absorb Whirlpool so that it doesn't kill Worg Pup after Mr. Pointy comes out. If it does then Mr. Pointy will use Trihorn Shield instead of attacking and will get an extra attack on the Runeforged Servitor which will cause this strategy to fail.
8-9: Flurry (May take 2 attacks, this should kill Syd) However with really bad luck it is possible to fail to kill Syd in which case you have to restart. This only happened to me once out of around 15 completions.

Mr. Pointy
1: Dazzling Dance (This Buff is critical and this strategy won't work without it) Worg Pup should die here
2: Swap to Runeforged Servitor
3: Wind-Up
4: Supercharge
5: Wind-Up (This will kill Mr. Pointy)

Otto
1: Swap to your Leveling Pet (Needs at least 160hp or 240hp if Flying)
2: Swap back to Runeforged Servitor
3: Wind-Up
4: Supercharge (normally Runeforged Servitor dies here and procs the Mechanical Passive)
5: Wind-Up (Thanks to Dazzling Dance, Runeforged Servitor is Faster than Otto and gets to go first killing him)

20 Tickets From Profession Quests
You'll need a skill of 75+ (and remember to train Professional Journeyman at skill 50 for your profession).
If you're max level, you'll get gold as a reward instead of what's listed here.
These can be completed once per toon, per DMF.

I haven't seen this added to the comments and I'm not sure when this changed but you can do all the profession quests after only learning the profession, you no longer need any particular skill level (ie 75). So I just learn two primary professions, I go and do the DMF quests, drop the professions and learn two more until they are finished for the month.

===================================================================
UNIVERSAL DARKMOON FAIRE EXALTED REPUTATION PLAN
===================================================================

-------------------------------------------------------------------
📊 THE UNIVERSAL REPUTATION FORMULA (For Any Starting Point)
-------------------------------------------------------------------
To calculate exactly how much reputation you need to reach Exalted,
use this formula based on your current standing:

1. Identify your current rank and find your "Remaining Points":
• If Neutral: Add 42,000 to your remaining points to Neutral.
• If Friendly: Add 39,000 to your remaining points to Friendly.
• If Honored: Add 33,000 to your remaining points to Honored.
• If Revered: Just take your remaining points to Exalted.

2. Your Total Needed Rep = +
(Example: 0/21,000 Revered means you need exactly 21,000 points).

3. Calculate your weeks needed:
• Standard Route (No Card Decks):
Total Needed Rep ÷ 7,260 = Total Weeks Required

• Fast Route (Using Card Decks):
(Total Needed Rep - 7,260) ÷ 385 = Number of Decks to buy/craft
