While you're Shoveling Trash during S.C.R.A.P. jobs in Undermine (requires Renown 2 with The Cartels of Undermine), you keep looting Empty Kaja'Cola Can. When you reach Renown 14, you unlock Vintage Kaja'Cola Can as random loot while shoveling and add them as rare loot to the progress-based reward containers you can open for participating when an event ends. You can exchange both currencies for Sifted Pile of Scrap containers at S.C.R.A.P. Exchange vendor Angelo Rustbin in Undermine but there are more purchases that only work with Vintage Kaja'Cola Can:

Lab Rat (3x Vintage Kaja'Cola Can)
GE86 Advance (~~1x Vintage Kaja'Cola Can~~ now 2000x Empty Kaja'Cola Can)

You have to unlock the "Scrappy S.C.R.A.P.per I" perk by reaching Renown 2 with The Cartels of Undermine to participate in S.C.R.A.P. jobs.
There are seven locations with S.C.R.A.P. heaps in the zone, and Carlo Greasegrind always picks one to be active for players (marked with a trash bin icon on your zone map and mini-map).
When someone starts the event by talking to Carlo, players have 2 minutes to interact with the S.C.R.A.P. heap to start Shoveling Trash for up to 60 seconds repeatedly, which fills a "Trash Shoveled" bar for the event and your currency tab with Empty Kaja'Cola Can (and rarely Vintage Cans when unlocked).
Players can activate a nearby S.C.R.A.P. Bot for an ongoing job by talking to the Bot and paying a cumulative 100G. It will then start to passively shovel and help a lot with the event's progress bar when there are not many players around (and you remove all things that will interrupt it).
During testing this activity was undergoing many changes (probably to nerf the currency acquisition and prevent Idling) and recently, these were the small events we experienced during jobs:
1. Blue Circles (Good): Stand in them to catch Kaja'Cola cans that will slightly increase your contributed trash for the event's progress for 1 minute (so no need to go for them more than twice).
2. Satchels in green puddles (Worst): Will interrupt the Bot and players until removed! Players need to interact, and they better make sure not to run away (to the heap or next bag) before the channeled Searching Trash Bag cast is finished or they have to repeat and lose more time.
3. Green Circles (Bad): Pineapple drinks land on player locations and will knock them back, interrupting the shoveling. So step aside and continue shoveling.
4. Flame Patches (Bad): Will interrupt the Bot and players, so run over them to extinguish the flames.
5. Discarded Bombs (Bad): Will interrupt the Bot and players while fixating them to explode. Remove them fast with a Swift Kick.
6. Enemies (Bad): If they aggro you and interrupt your shoveling, kill them. (pet classes can send their companions and continue shoveling)
If players manage to get to 100% on the progress bar, the Gallagio Garbage Rare is supposed to spawn. (the Rare spawn is probably back to full RNG or they forgot to adjust the spawn condition down to 500 trash with the latest event changes)
When the event timer ends, participating players can loot a progress-based reward container ( 0-150 Trash = Half-Empty Bag, 151-350 Trash = Dented Crate, 351-500 Trash = Uncovered Strongbox; these will remain at their place if you forget to loot them immediately). Shortly after, another location will be chosen and shown on your map.
When players gain Renown with The Cartels of Undermine, there are passive Renown perks (e.g. unlocks for buff items from a Kaja'Cola Dispenser near the active S.C.R.A.P. heap), but they only speed up filling the event's progress bar and don't increase the amount of Kaja'Cola cans looted. Especially the buff items from the vendor are now almost pointless with the increased frequency of interrupting events and it was never the "twice as much trash" mentioned in their tooltips (maybe +25%). On top of that, the recently added blue circles provide a similar buff for free, for a full minute, and without the Renown.

Earlier reports of the Vintage Kaja'Cola Can only dropping at renown 15 onwards (bugged) now seem to be outdated - if not just cases of bad luck. I hit renown 14 with The Cartels of Undermine earlier today and, while still renown 14, had Vintage Kaja'Cola Can's drop while Shoveling Trash during S.C.R.A.P. jobs.

Seems to be working as intended - just a low drop chance as per the tooltip of the renown 14 perk.

This seems to have a relatively forgiving drop rate, it took me a little over an hour to get the 4 I needed for the pets, and that seemed to be a shared experience with other members of the group

I have done about 100+ SCRAP Jobs with Renown 15+. 0 Drops from digging or the Chest.

They can't make radiant remnants, coffer key shards or globs of wax into a currency, but they can make rare items like this into one?

It is just barely possible with 2 players if you are focused on digging and resolving issues to reach the Gallagio Garbage, but only if you spend the 100 gold on the S.C.R.A.P. Bot to help immediately upon starting the heap, otherwise I would encourage 3 players to reach 500 because it is difficult depending on the interruptions that trigger and make sure you get 1 in every 3 cans of Kaja'Cola thrown by the Kaja'Cola Dispenser (the blue circle on the ground) which are thrown regardless of purchasing from it to get a 30% dig speed and movement buff. The rare only has around a 30-50% chance of occurring when the heap reaches 500 and will only spawns upon hitting 500.

The 3 events that makes the heap untargetable can be resolved as follows:

Wiggling Bag - Help the cat out of the bag by clicking to open, the last player to click gets a cat on your head buff for a few seconds with an actual cat... on your head.
Discarded Bomb - Just kick these as fast as possible, and help others because not everyone will know they have to kick them as many have been running from the bombs.
Fire - Step on the fire, this is the fastest to resolve, especially if you have the Kaja'Cola speed buff.

Gallagio Garbage can drop both the Salvaged Goblin Gazillionaire's Flying Machine and the Gold-Inlaid Jetpack after the first kill of the day, when it no longer counts as a rare, and multiple times per character per day. These items are tradable to all who tagged him on that particular kill.

Each tier achieved while digging will give you more Market Research and a higher chance for a Vintage Kaja'Cola Can from the end chest. You also have a chance of Market Research and a Vintage Kaja'Cola Can from every pick at the heap, although the chances are rather low, especially for the cans. This is still the fastest way to earn the Darkfuse Lowdown Coat by earning an easily farmable amount of guaranteed Market Research, and often in doing so you can and likely will get multiples of the unique drops from the Gallagio Garbage, so if you do please offer these to other participants :)

Vintage Kaja'Cola Can

A can of vintage Kaja'Cola. These are rarely found in S.C.R.A.P Heaps. Angelo Rustbin at S.C.R.A.P Headquarters would be interested in this.
