Both of his cloaks... *drool*
Last boss of The Temple of Ahn'Qiraj. Killing him gives 2000 Brood of Nozdormu rep and 400 Cenarion Circle rep. He drops 2 quest items for different classes, they are for the 2.5 chests. The tier 2.5 chest quests take honored reputation with Brood of Nozdormu to get. The chest pieces are of very high quality and will be good far into Burning Crusade.
Information about this fight can be found at
This is the last boss in The Temple of Ahn'Qiraj (AQ40).
You're actually given around 15 seconds to get in to the room before he starts his eye beams, usually enough time for people to get into positions, however, you can no longer resurrect people between phase 1 and 2 now.
As I've noticed nobody mentioned any lore about C'thun in this thread and he is a very intereting character in WoW history.
He is an Old God which means he is one of the oldest beings to exist in Azeroth. There were five Old Gods , but after the Titans (shapers of worlds and beings of unfathomable power) arrived here and battled the Old Gods who were evil in nature, there only remained 4,the Titans managing to kill one of the Old Gods. It's corpse can be found at the Master's Glaive in Darkshore, Kalimdor with an immense sword piercing its skull.Defeated but not killed C'thun lay asleep for countless millenia watching the races of Azeroth evolve and waiting for the right time to return.
In the desert in which he fell defeated by the Titans he found a primitive race of creatures named the Silithid which he shaped in his own image to create the Aquir - the current race you can find in Ahn Quiraj Temple and Ruins.
When his armies were powerfull enough he tried to set siege on the night elves and the dragons.Ahn'Qiraj was sealed with the Scarab Dais using the combined magic of both the dragons and Night Elves.
Now that the Scarab Dais is open adventurers can wonder in the Temple to face the horrors the hanunted the world before most mortal races weren't in Azeroth and the Old God himself in his hideous form and seemingly endless power..
Now on to how to defeat this ancient evil:
After you've approached C'thun's room correctly and are in stand by position (to the sides of the entering gate showed in this screenshot : (
) to enter his room you have to remember a crucial thing.
The most important factor in the first phase of the fight is positioning, the positioning in the room itself as well as your positioning regarding your party members.
1)As to the position in the room this is the most crude and simple map I could come up with and it should give you a general idea how the groups of the raid should be positioned in the first phase of the fight (keep in mind that from the second you enter the room you are in combat so don't expect breathing time while searching for your spot):
Regarding positioning yourself within the raid as a individual it is CRUCIAL that you stay at a 10yd distance (or more) from everyone else in the raid. Eye of C'thun will periodically zap people with his green laser. When you get hit, it can chain to another person if he's closer than 10yd, and it can chain to yet another person from there and so on. For each person in the chain that gets hit, the amount of damage dealt is doubled. The first and second people in the chain have a fairly good chance to survive this, but 3rd and further are very likely to die.
In each sector, one melee player is going to focus on eye tentacles . If there's 2 melee chars in a group, the 2nd (warrior preferred) goes meleeing the eye.
Ranged DPS stands about in the middle of the sector, at appropriate distance from the eye tentacle spawn spots. Healers are at the outer border.
TIP: Get the C'Thun Warner mod, it'll tell you if anyone else in the raid is at closer than 10yd to you.
When he starts his Dark Glare (43750-56250 Shadow damage on any player)the whole raid must move clockwise or counter clockwise to avoid it.
In phase two positioning is the same as phase 1 in case a giant eye tentacle will spawn and in case a giant claw tentacle will spawn feel free to stay close to eachother. When sucked in the stomach of C'thun- kill the tentacles inside if you are a damage dealer , if you are a healer keep the damage dealer alive or get out if there is none inside.Be sure to time the stomach tentacles so that you kill them after all the giant tentacles outside are killed.

1. Mob Composition
1. Eye of C'Thun
2. Eye Tentacle
3. Claw Tentacle
2. Mob Characteristics
- A Green Eye Beam Cast Every 3 seconds. If anyone is within 10 yards of the initial target it Will chain react and
double in damage for each target in the chain. The Green and Red beams alternate every 40 seconds.
* 2625 - 3375 Nature damage
* 100 Yard Range
* Can be Resisted.
- A Red Eye Beam that will slowly rotate 180 degrees. Manifistation of the beam is a shadowy cloud in the pupil just
before it begins. The Red Beam will move clockwise or counterclockwise slowly for 180 degrees. The Red and Green
Beams alternate every 40 Seconds.
* 43750-56250 Shadow damage
* 100 Yard Range
* Can be Resisted.
3. Eye Tentacle
- Spawn every 45 seconds on the edges of C'Thun. They will do a knockback and Mind Flay (750 Damage).
- Can be counterspelled, interrupted, stunned, gouged, and distracting shot.
- approx 2500 health.
4. Claw Tentacle
- Random Spawning Tentacles.
- 200 damage melee attack.
- Upon appearing they do Ground Rupture. A knock back ability that does
1350-1650 physical damage.
- approx 1800 health.
3. General Strategy
1. Phase I
* Entering Cthuns Room
The first person to enter Cthuns room will be struck by the Green Beam. If any raid members are too close it will chain and kill very rapidly since it doubles in damage. The raid will be split with groups 1-4 on the left and groups 5-8 on the right of the wall entrance. Groups 5-8 must be carefull to huge the far wall when moving into initial position.
All players should be mounted.
Once everyone is in the initial position, a MT will be shielded and go in first while he is mounted and get as close to the Eye of Cthun as possible. Once the MT is about half way in the other groups can move in. The groups should move in an order such that the furthest groups go first. So groups 4,5 then 3,6, then 2,7, finally 1,8.
When moving in be sure NOT to get to close to the MT. As you move in and get to your positions be sure to move to the far back of your area to ensure you are not too close to others as they are coming in or going by.
* Phase 1
Green Beam phase
Once everyone is in the room they need to spread out in their respective area's with the rouge's in the groups in Melee range. The Warriors at the edge of the dark area (Eye Spawn points), but not right on it (knockback). Next Pallies/Mages/Locks. Finally, Hunters and Priests toward the back of thier designated area.
Once everyone is in position DPS starts. All DPS on CThun. Priests, Druids doing DoT's or ranged. Pallies healing.
Every 45 Seconds the Eye Tentacles appear, all DPS must switch to these. Pallies/Rouges stunning. Remember to keep distance since the Green Beam is still active. If a claw tentacle spawns the Pallies need to Stun quickly and that area's MT needs to get on the Tentacle quickly. All DPS in that area should switch to the claw.
Red Beam phase
Once the Red Beam Starts all groups should move to their opposite sides away from the beam. For example if the beam starts moving

Does anyone have a screenshot from inside his belly? I really wanna see it.
this creature is a referance to Cthulu Mitosu, a god from the fictional universe of old horror writer H.P.Lovecrafts.
This guy is High Lord Saurfang's ashtray.
I present to you the happy, fun, twisted whisperings of an Old God! Simply paste the script command into your chat window.
Death... is... close...
You are already dead.
You will betray your friends.
You... will... die...
Your courage will fail.
Your friends will abandon you.
You are weak.
Your heart will explode.
this happens if u dont engage him on the right way:
OMG LAZAR GRUP WIPE ZOMG
C'thun is an Old God and has a giant eye, but can he see why kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch?
C'thun bears a striking resemblance to "The Forgotten One" that Arthas fought in Warcraft III.
This may be hinting that there will be a C'thun-like battle against another of the Old Gods in Wrath of the Lich King.
It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye.
Easiest way to kill him is to have the whole raid equip skinning knives and get some raw onions and start cutting...instant death unless he gets you with his "OMG LAZIER!". nuff said

Yeah, I was about to say that. Especially with the spawning tentacles
Nobody mentioned C'thulhu yet? Weird. Both the name and the tentacles is a dead giveaway...
Oh, and by the way, aren't Ragnaros, Thunderaan and Lord Ahune the three other Old Gods? Just wondering.
One of the five old Gods. He felt but he didn't die.
You can also see another one of the Old Gods in Darkshore at Master's Glaive.
His name could suggest you Cthulhu of H.P. Lovecraft's Novel, and Chtonians of Brian Lumley about Cthulhu mythos and C'Tan, from Warhammer 40.000 lore.
However, Cthun is a Greek word, and it means "deep".
When C'thun says you're weak,
Bugged as of patch 3.0.2. The damage you take inside the stomach is scaled with your spell power, so if casters and healers get devoured, they must get out immediately or they will die. Make sure the raid knows this if you're going to try him.
His big red eye beam also seems to be bugged. The graphic is nowhere near as obvious as it used to be (missing the whole "red" part). In addition, the beam itself is not actually at wherever the graphic is. This lead to about half of my raid getting annihilated, but we still managed to down it. Yay!
C'Thun, what must be said about this raid encounter? This boss has been the source of many you-tube-leeroy-worthy videos. Basically, the first phase is an idiot test: can your guild spread out? can you run in a circle? can you kill low-hp eyes? The second phase, if your guild is smart enough to reach this phase, is usually when all hell breaks loose. If you can manage to get him to 98% in phase 2,congrats and keep up the good work for your really close to killing him.
Oh yea, possibly the hardest part about this boss is simply getting to him. (GEE GEE Twin Emps trash FTL)
A friend of mine who used to raid a lot of Naxxramas and AQ40 told me, that C'Thun used to be hardest boss *before* he was nerfed/balanced.
So could someone tell me exacly what they nerfed? Would love to hear since I don't speak much with him anymore. :(
C'Thun was literally impossible for any guild to kill when he was first implemented. Phase 1 was doable, but phase 2 was just downright brutal.
, 8 Little Eyes would spawn around C'Thun, and mindflay the raid (if left alive long enough they would kill the healers). On another timer, every
, C'thun would spawn a Giant Claw and Giant Eye. The Giant Claws would do about 1.5k-2k (which was a lot pre-BC) on t2 geared tanks and could use
and kill a bunch of DPS or Healers at once. The Giant Eyes had a
effect that could chain to multiple targets and could kill your entire raid essentially.
When entering Phase 2, C'Thun has 100% HP and now has a protective shield that basically nullifies any incoming attacks to do basically no damage. To damage/kill C'Thun, he would "eat" people every 10 seconds and place them in him stomach. In his stomach are two
. Your raid needs to kill both Flash Tentacles to weaken C'Thun. After the nerf (not sure of how many before) it would take 2-3 weakenings to kill C'Thun.
Given the information above, it required guilds in T2/AQ40 gear (Naxx wasn't out yet, even though the gear wouldn't have been significant enough to kill him still) to put out a whopping
to keep up with the various spawns. Now, this was possible for guilds back then, but only on single targets. When you have 8, 12, 17, 22, or more adds alive (the spawns had no cap limit, you could technically have a full room of tentacles) its very hard to push out 230k damage for your always having to switch.
Patch 1.10.1 (hotfix)
We have also hotfixed the following changes to the C’thun encounter in Ahn’Qiraj:
#Lowered the hit points of both Giant Claw Tentacles and Giant Eye Tentacles.
#Decreased the damage caused by Ground Rupture, and made the effect resistable.
#Significantly decreased the melee damage done by Giant Eye Tentacles.
In the 1.10.1 patch, we also changed the way that C’thun identifies who is in his stomach. The faction changing debuff that was previously applied will no longer appear, but C’thun’s tentacles should not spawn in the stomach, nor should a player in the stomach be the target of C’thun’s Eye Beam.
The combination of these changes should give players more time to damage C'thun instead of dealing with tentacles, and see fewer "unavoidable, random" deaths occur due to Ground Rupture effects.
Temple of Ahn'Qiraj
# Removed the stacking acid from the Flesh Tentacles in the C'thun encounter.
# Digestive Acid now increases its effect over time during the C'thun encounter.
# Fixed a bug that could allow for the Digestive Acid debuff to be removed.
# Lowered the amount of knockback dealt by Giant Tentacles.
# Tentacles should no longer spawn on players who have just been knocked back by a previous tentacle.
Death and Taxes Pre-Nerf C'Thun Attempt
, Phase 2 transition is at 7:15
This boss is actually named after a very popular book, HP Lovecrafts Call of Cthulhu, in which old gods (The Great Old Ones) lie at the bottom of the ocean, waiting for the stars to be right to rise again. Exept, in this case at the end of a temple.
Does anyone know why C'thun was stripped of his power? I cant figure it out my self
C'Thun may be a giant eye and an Old God but can he see why kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch?
*A deep whisper inside your skull: Is it the cinnamon swirls on every bite?*
@#$@ you C'Thun!
But why did the titans, weaken him for? Did he betray them or something of the sorts?
I think that C'Thun is a very cool looking boss also.
According to wowwiki, the Forgotten One is a lesser replica of C'thun, left to rule the sister kingdom of Ahn'Quari, Azul'Nerub. (Sorry about spelling) Thus you are indeed correct, it was an avatar of an old god. Hail to WOTLK, for he shall return!
Infact, thats not true, aquir were splitted to two kingdoms, AQ and AzjolNerub, attracted by Old Gods (Yogg-Saron and their creator, Cthun). Those two kingdoms lost connection at war of the ancients and evolved into Qiraji and Nerubians.
However, Yogg-Saron and Forgotten ones (there seem to be few of them, dead one in darkshore is one), bear resemblance, so its possible that Yogg-Saron is one, maybe the one who was in WC3, who knows?
I alway's feel like sombody's watching me...
C'Thun has been taken from "The call of Cthulhu" Written by H. P. Lovecraft.
Cthulu is a gigantic sea screature with tentacles and is referred to one of the "Great old ones" (Obviously how he became a old GOD). In the book, Cthulhu resites in the suken temple of R'lyeh (How he most likely was placed in the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj).
Source is from
is he defeatable r killable?
i would like to see a 2nd round of C'Thun the comeback!
As of patch 3.1 there is indeed a fight against another of the old gods, yogg-saron. He will be located in Ulduar.
Umm... why is he in the bottom of the Weeping Quarry in Icecrown?
Did anyone notice the second picture is a raid fail...
It's all fun and games untill someone loses an eye
First defeated by Nihilum of Magtheridon on the 25th of April, 2006.
Guys what about if this
go in his 2nd form and eat you . What happen then.?
on a scale of one to ten on hardness...ten
Just thought I'd leave this here...
Nobody ever mentioned that C'thun looks damn simular to the Zerg Overmind?
I read some of the Cthulu stuff.
One of the Great Old Ones was named "Azathoth".
Sound surprisingly simmular to "Azeroth" or "Azzinoth"...
Also, a kind of creature, a "Shoggoth" was mentioned.
Sounds simmular to one of the Zerg Overminds children, Daggoth.
after all this time... he still gives me the creeps...
I was in a fail AQ pug a while back, and we wiped hard on the twins. Everything fell apart after that, but I just went to go watch some of those wipe videos of C'thun pre-nerf, and even though he has since been "balanced" and going in at level 70 gives considerably more health/armor/etc. than the level 60 it was meant for, I am damn glad that we didn't get to C'thun. The core ideas of the fight are easy, it's just getting 30-40 people to follow directions would be hellish, especially when people can't keep the twins apart.
Some of those videos were hilarious, though. Remind me to stay at the end of the raid next time I try AQ like the cowardly little huntard I am. Hopefully I can run away fast enough and my feign death doesn't get resisted. :P
Also, Blizzard has made obvious Lovecraftian references, as many have said, some of which being:
Old Gods=Old Ones (Even though Yog-Sothoth is an Outer God)
The Old Gods having amorphous, tentacled, primordial appearances
Having ulterior, self-serving motives
Twisting the thoughts, minds, and dreams of those around them to serve themselves and twist others to do their bidding
Being of unknown origin or having 'fallen from the sky'
C'thun twisted the silithids into his own shape, making the Qiraji, similar to the Cthulhi
Being forced into a slumber, but not death (except for that one in Darkshore)
Etc., etc., etc....
There's supposed to be two more Old Gods left? I wonder who it'll be next.
For those of you trying to explain the lore behind this to the annoying little kids in your raid,
Looks like C'thun will be returning in Cataclysm, having been resurrected by Cho'gall.
"When the Titans came to Azeroth as nearly all-powerful and benevolent beings, the Old Gods and their Elemental Leutenants ruled the world. Seeing the horrors that the beings of Azeroth were subjugated to, the Titans began a war against the evil Old Gods and eventually they were subdued but not without loss on the side of the Titans.
WotlK is showing us just a taste of the true power of the Old Gods, as just one (Yogg-Saron) is capable of driving legions of mortals insane (whisper gulch, etc) and even seduce a Titan to betray the pantheon (Loken). Not enough people realise just how much power these Old Gods have; they are the original and the greatest enemies of the peoples of Azeroth.
Even the Lich King fears them."
Actually you are wrong. Yogg fears the lich king because he is already dead.
easy, until you get to twins, if u have a fail member tanking caster...you're screwed... he kept targeting scarabs.
I suggest a macro for the tards that can't target the giant red guy on the switches
I know you all love references so here ya go xD
I give you
it may not be anything, but I think i saw a top of C'Thun in the bottom of the lake in the Quarry in Icecrown Glacier. It's really quite freaky. anyway, can't be targeted and cannot attack u, but it is moving downthere...
EDIT: I have uploaded a picture of it, but it needs approving,so it'll take a while before its up.
I'd love to hear the recording of the Onyxia Wipe guy lead a raid against this boss, when it first came out pre-nerfed.
Where's my poking stick when I need it?>=(
2 Manned this badboy last night as a Ret paladin and a Prot paladin.
phase 1 is cake just kill everything
phase 2 you must kill the giant tentacles so there isnt too many and run through stomach asap killing 1 tentacle each time. took about 6 minutes to complete phase 2
LoL i have a friend with DK which name is Alreadydead xD
"You are already dead."
so according to my calculator at maximum bounces does 9.727775195120271e+20 WTF kinda number is that D:
PEEKABOO! I seez you...
C'Thun lives on in the 3rd expansion in the form of a Nerubian Artifact (not sure if wowhead has it uploaded yet).
I tend to send people in groups of 5; it's easy to remember your assignment if you look at your number, and gives enough time to spread out for Eye Beam. There's still the matter of avoiding the red beam (one time, it killed most of my raid of 20, and I and one other were the only two to survive until we won), but it's fairly simple if you know how to get into position and to kill the Flesh Tentacles.
Me and my friend find this impossible to 2 man, as soon as we get to P2 we get sent into his stomach and we die, when you are sent into the water or whatever the green stuff is, you are slow and i find it impossible to reach the platform in time, unless you have blink or something, we are Holy pala and frost dk btw, anyone know if this is bugged or do we just have the wrong setup?
Easily 2-mannable with 85s (or lower I'm sure) especially if at least one person is ranged.
Phase 2 isn't impossible as long as you run straight to the bounce pad and get out, me and my friend (Prot Pally + Balance Druid) have done it flawlessly the past two weeks, just don't stay inside and try to kill the tentacles. Use what ranged abilities you can while the bounce is charging up and while you're in the air.
Even with two melee it should be possible for the second person who gets sucked inside the stomach to stay for an extra few seconds and kill one tentacle. I just cast my DoTs on both as I bounce out, and he's weakened by the time I'm back outside.
We have to weaken him 3 times before he dies, all the tentacles and stuff that pop up are no threat at all.
It would be amazing if they upped this raid to level cap one day... its lore is so damn great and a 40 man raid. Just a great idea. And killing a god? I want AQ back! :(
Went here tonight and soloed up to Twins as a DK, was very easy, only the bug family gave me a headache with all the fears interupts and healing. But i managed.
Both Twins and C'thun is 2 manable. Brought my guildie Paladin with me for those fights.
C'thun phase 2 is very easy to do actually despite the "one shot" thing he might do when you are in his belly. Just have the first person who gets devoured to jump out asap, dont dps the tentacles (unless u can DPS while running and dont need to turn to face your opponent) and let the 2nd one who gets devoured (should be within 5 seconds or so of eachother) kill them instead. rinse and repeat!
Also i noticed some changes in the instance, it is no longer named Temple of Ahn'Qiraj, just simply "Ahn'Qiraj" and it seems C'thun got some additional spider web in his eye and his phase 2 transition animation is not broken anymore.
One can always hope that they gave it a reason :) some future event maybe.
My all time favorite classic boss that is available its so fun going with my clssic guild screams of the past on draka runs it every week and we do it classic style, so much better than being run by the higher levels imo.
C'thun can't be done solo even at 85. Get a few friends and kill him.
Check the link for a video guide explaining how you can solo Temple of Ahn'Qiraj (aq40). Around 250gold in loot, bug mounts and reputation with Brood of Nozdormu in 1 or 2 hours time.In the video you will find a guide forThe Prophet Skeram, Battleguard Sartura,Fankriss the Unyielding and Princess Huhuran. Didn't see Eye to eye
This encounter is entirely two-mannable. Did it as a raid-spec Mutilate Rogue with a raid-spec Enhancement Shaman partner, both ~ilvl 360. P1 kill all the tentacles and dps as normal, P2 whoever gets sucked in must run as fast as they can to the exit, maybe casting some instants or getting a few swings off at the tentacles in the process. As far as I can tell, he will gib everyone if the only targets he has are in his stomach, so getting out is critical. From there, once the tentacles in the stomach are dead it's just nuke until he dies.
How to duo in Cataclysm:
Note: He can be killed with the Cthonic Destroyer found within the giggling realm of skittering indigestion, will look like a robot toy

Here are some general tips for C'thun for you level 85's:
You can not do this solo (when you get eaten the boss resets, and kills you in his stomach). Hover me for explanation.
2-manning him is borderline possible, unless both end up being eaten simultaneously, thus also making him reset and killing both of you.
3-manning is a more safe bet that he will not reset as there will always be one upstairs keeping him from wiping you, as long as those inside rush out of there.
No, you can not keep a pet upstairs as it's too far away and will despawn. Same goes for warlock demonic circle, you can't reach yours from the stomach.
Spelldamage increases the ticking debuff in stomach, the only way you should do him is to directly run for the exit platform and on your way use some dots on the tentacles -that's all, do not stand still to cast spells!
That Dark Glare would be alot more powerful if C'thun wasnt a keybord turner.
To expand on Nishtai's comment, it seems his model has been updated in some way, at least with the eye's look and animations. His phase 2 form seems bugged in that all the eyes on his body don't show up correctly, positioned behind what look like eyelids.
On a separate note, I killed C'thun with two balance druids tonight. They were both ported into the stomach (in normal form) and survived while killing the Flesh Tentacles, so perhaps the insta-death bug was fixed.
2 manning C'thun at 85 is fairly easy, while 3 manning him requires almost no effort.
DPS him down, avoid dark glare if he manages to get one off before you DPS him to phase 2.
The only hard part. When you get sent to the stomach your goal is to get out as soon as possible, because if both of you are in the stomach C'thun will Dark Glare and inevitably kill you in a manner of seconds, even at 85.
You will land in his green stomach acid and see an island in front of you with a grey circle on it. Jumping on it will send you out of the stomach. We found the best way would be to cast instant attacks onto the tentacles while swimming to the island and getting out of the stomach ASAP. Each tentacle only has roughly 25k hp so all classes should be able to drop one before leaving.
Once you kill both tentacles C'thun is weakened and is susceptible to DPS again. With 2 people you will likely need to weaken him twice.
Simple DPS phase again.
Point of interest, when C'thun eats a warrior - or perhaps when he vomits you up, but it's connected to the eating process - he removes your stance association. Since there's no way for a player to intentionally cancel their stance without entering another one, this is the only way a warrior can get into Stance 0.
Unfortunately, no superpowers are unlocked.
Apologies in advanced if this has already been posted but...
Southeast of the Wildhammer Stronghold in Shadowmoon Valley you can see a shade of him being summoned. I'm sure there's a quest line to stop it but I can't recall.
Vaugeness vague of vagueity
I think it's worth to point this out again because I have seen many Posts on various Forums where Groups did not prepare for the Fight and just stormed Ahn'Qiraj to afterwards claim this mechanic to be a bug.
As Rinor mentioned in this post, this:
1) You can not do this solo (when you get eaten the boss resets, and kills you in his stomach).
2) 2-manning him is borderline possible, unless both end up being eaten simultaneously, thus also making him reset and killing both of you.
3) 3-manning is a more safe bet that he will not reset as there will always be one upstairs keeping him from wiping you, as long as those inside rush out of there.
No, you can not keep a pet upstairs as it's too far away and will despawn. Same goes for warlock demonic circle, you can't reach yours from the stomach.
Should always be remembered when you try to down him with lvl85 Characters.
That's also the Reason why he's not solo-able.
As soon as everyone is in the maw and no one left out site he will
So remember to keep at least one Character outside. :)
A movie showing some lvl 60s killing this boss in Cataclysm
It's been done by a warlock, solo.
Idk if someone mentioned it already i am too lazy to read 134 comments but if someone wonders how to get out of his stomach (we was 3 85´s and we wiped coz we was all in the stomach and didnt knew how to get out) just go onto the big rock-like thing and it will jump u upwards
C'thun is quite easy to 2-man, at least easier than the twin emperors.
Phase 1 is a simple nuke phase. If he gets to cast Dark Glare before you get him down, you might want to get some better gear.
Phase 2 is a bit trickier. When someone gets devoured, they have to get to the black island asap. While moving, they should cast instant cast spells on the tentacles; balance druids are very good at this because of Moonfire.
When both tentacles are dead, C'thun will be weakened. Simply get out of his stormach, and nuke him down. I've yet to see anyone not killing him within the first weaken phase while level 85.
Overall not that hard, if you focus a little. You may want to bring a third person.
Also, here is one of my favorite C'thun kill movies:
Can be duo'd easily. Me (a frost DK) and my guildie (a balance druid) have done the entire instance with just us 2. As long as you go out of the stomach right away and only cast instant spells to damage the tentacles in there you won't wipe. We killed him in 2 weakenings.
Just 2-manned this with a prot paladin and a frost mage. The paladin ran around killing tentacles while the mage dps'd the boss. The paladin had seal of righteousness on to heal himself, and tossed a word of glory at the mage whenever appropriate.
In phase 2, we both had macros that issued raid warnings that we had been eaten (both of us had assist powers), and whilst in the stomach we stayed very close to the platform so that we could leave at a moment's notice. It worked fairly well, and only took us 2 attempts to get the timings right.
Bottom line is this: in 2-man situations, communication is key. It's reliably 2-mannable as long as you can avoid getting both players caught in the stomach. Also, if you have to leave, leave. Don't wait an extra second to kill that tentacle because it could spell the difference between a win and a wipe. Let your raid partner finish it off for you.
Easily 2-manned whatever your class is,when the 1st player gets pulled down, just nuke one tentacle and go right up so the 2nd player can be pulled aswell and nukes the remaining tentacle,go up,few seconds of pew pew, boss down,he only pulled us once, have fun
How to: Solo Temple of Ahn'Qiraj (AQ40) 4.3 version:
I show you how to solo all of them, but I don't kill Viscidus & C'thun myself.
It also explains the tactics for when you want to do it with a couple of friends.
Also includes information about mounts & reputation.
It took me around 31 min and I earned around 613g.
I hope it will help :)
"It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye..."
"Your heart will explode" I think i checked my chest a few times that night after Hearing that horrible sound.
If im Correct He also or something sounding like him, As Part of "The Children of Goldshire" Event. an i think this line Is herd. "shivers" i never want to witness that Moment in game, if that happens i may quit wow rofl.
This is actually very easy to solo as a fury warrior, but somewhat time consuming.
I followed this guide:
by Banecrake, he used somewhere around 2 hours to kill it.
However, i figuired out a little "glitch" in this tactic. Sometimes when you get eaten, you wont get summoned back immidiatly, which can make this fight a lot faster. As a warrior, i binded a macro for "/target Flesh tentacle, /Cast heroic Throw. If i were lucky i got in range and made a throw before i got sucked up, Unfortunatly i found this out at around 400k hp, he got weakened at 280k hp for me, i needed a total of 3 "lucky" swallows before his shield got removed. I Spent around 56 minutes on him, a total of 45 before i found out i could do it this way, lol. I still do not know why i got like 5 seconds in the stomach on some swallows and barely 0.1 on some others. At first i thought if i timed it with Ouro's emerge i would get more time in the stomach, but i am unable to confirm that. You can get eaten as many times you just want, so i guess you just have to be lucky.
Any class with a instant spell they can bind to a macro, can easily make this faster than a 2 hour kill.
Hope this helps, and Good luck. Fun boss to solo.
For 4.3, I thought I knew this place pretty well... but I got lost finding C'thun to kill after numerous party members were summoned and resummoned for their achievements.
Where to find C'Thun:
First, you have to kill the Twin Emperors (
). For a strategy to kill them in 4.3, consult those pages.
After you kill them, you will notice a door has opened on the platform where you would have started. Now there are two doors instead of one. You take the other door, which is the one on the left after you kill Twin Emps.
So you now have
, the optional boss, and C'thun left. C'thun's room is NORTH of Ouro's room, if you consult your map. It is on your default map on the left hand side, and if you have noticed, you basically are moving through the map of the instance in a Clockwise fashion.
Ouro is in a big open room on the left as you continue past Twin Emps. His room looks a lot like the room which houses the other bosses like Battleguard Sartura, Fankriss, Princess Huhuran. You will notice a smaller, circular hole with a pathway on the right, which kind of reminds me of an ear canal. That room leads to the boss!
If you kill Ouro, come out and go left that pink tube / tunnel. That pink tunnel starts off looking like a tubular crawlspace and you're running down the center on this pink pathway, circling around somewhat. But it kind of ends abruptly, and spits you out in a room with bricks. Enter into the room. You will notice C'Thun is now going to be in the big chamber in the room. Dispatch of him as you wish!
In Icecrown you can see the top of C'thun's head in a little pool of water beside The Shadow Vault. But the spikes on the top of his head are gone for some reason.
Why is this fight the same after all these years, why haven't Blizz changed it?
A: Cause you just can't teach an old god new tricks.
Fury warrior second wind talent. solo = possible. but you use 1 hour.
UUUUUGH don't make the same mistake I did and use gurgthalak to solo this. I ended up damaging ouro with the tentacles that proc off it unintentionally. had phase 2 to about 15k health remaining after what felt like an eternity, hit my fraps record button ready to capture my epic victory when ouro starts going ape$%^& and knocking me back constantly while throwing rocks that killed me.
That said as an arms warrior the solo is as easy as it is tedious. My "strategy" was dps cthun, heroic leap to the other end of the room when ouro emerges so you don't get knocked into the air, whirlwind/thunderclap the scarabs down and that's literally it for about an hour. second wind makes you basically invincible, your self heal is easily more powerful than any damage they can throw at you. I have a 397 gear level but I'm sure you can do it with much less.
Some tips to save you headaches:
Turn particle effects to low for phase 2 if your like me and don't have the best computer, was chugging along at 3-5 fps with all the smoke effects and mobs around but immediately shot up to about 30 when I did this. use your heroic leap to negate fall damage if ouro ends up knocking you into the air when you emerges, as the sudden damage spike could kill you. Lastly, go and grab a weapon that isn't gurgthalak, your gonna be doing crap for damage no matter what you use so your weapon isn't too important as long as it's decent.
Just a quick note for warriors soloing this: Ouro's eruption and teleporting out of the stomach can leave you without a stance, lowering rage income and making the fight even slower. Just make sure to check, or just hit whatever stance you want every so often. Makes a big difference!
Has anyone soloed this at 90 yet? how much does the dmg increase reduce the length of the fight?
I'm thinking it's bugged right now? Either that or I'm missing something really obvious...
During Phase 2, I fall into his stomach, go to the platform, then die immediately from falling damage... tried it twice, I dont even have time to swim to the portal out thing, i just die it seems almost as quickly as i enter the room..
I feel as though it's worth mentioning... I succesfully completed a solo pull of C'thun on a level 90 Arms Warrior a few nights ago (Not that the class is relevant).
The way this was possible was in using an exploit of the mechanics fromOuro. Ouro will teleport you back within a close distance of him if you stray too far away from him during the fight. While it takes an
amount of time, you can kite Ouro from his room to C'thuns and fight both bosses at the same time. When C'thun teleports you into his stomach, Ouro will promptly teleport you back out of it before C'thun instakills you, thus giving you the opportunity to complete the fight and defeat him on your own.
((While I do not endorse/condone/whatever using exploits to beat bosses unfairly, I am providing this information for folks that are willing to invest the time to do this.))
Found this 100% impossible to solo on a priest even in MOP.. When you get ported into his stomach, you just die. didnt matter if i got to the platform or not.
This may get down voted, and it has nothing to do with
, but if you look at his 3D model, it's quite terrifying.
just solod today as a blood DK (took 1:15) in 453 ilvl DPS gear using the Orous strat
make a macro
/target Ouros Scarab
/cast soul reaper
this will target the scarab, kill it with soul reaper giving you 50% haste for a few seconds then going back to Cthun which is a really ncie DPS boost
As of 5.1, C'thun still one-shots anyone who's pulled down into the stomach leaving him with no other targets.
Edit - This has since been hotfixed, C'thun is now fully soloable.
"Raid groups are no longer necessary to enter pre-Mists of Pandara raid dungeons. Bosses requiring multiple people were nerfed to better facilitate soloing."
Yeah looks like they forgot about C'thun too...no news here.
ok, i just engaged C'thun today and yeah, hes fixed and easy to solo, no more killer debuff
I'm not sure if I was doing it wrong, but I attempted to solo c'thun by pulling Ouro into his room, things were going just fine until I got ported to C'Thun's stomach, while Ouro brought me back, I still had the digestive juice debuff thing which proceeded to 6~ shot me (the final tick did like 380k or something silly).
Just 2 manned C'thun and killed him at 7Pm EST... easy fight IDK what everyone else is having such a problem with... even though we both got ate we didnt die (juices or fall damage) and he didnt reset we killed him in his room and it was easy once we were inside we killed his tentacles or w/e and came out and downed him in 45sec or less (he only has (999K health) I am a Druid Feral Item level 461 Wildcárd on Magtheridon US... my friend is a Warrior Fury (SMF) Item level 446 Shortdeath on Ysera Us
Soloed as a 478 SMF Fury Warrior. Quite honestly, I don't know the mechanics of the fight, but I just prioritized every tentacle I saw, most of which died in one hit. Didn't use the Ouro trick either. Just straight up killed it to death. I may have popped a health potion too. Took just under 2 minutes according to my Recount timer.
Just soloed as a 468 Ret Pally. Killed the big tentacle that came out on the second phase, got ported to his stomach, killed the two tentacles in there, then proceeded to kill him on the surface. On a side note i've noticed a lot of bosses don't like companions or things of that nature, do not use trinkets or anything that could spawn companions (ie Ghost Iron Dragonling) or abilities that create a companion like Gaurdian of Ancient Kings, as this often times can cause problems like with mind controls and what not.
As of 29 Nov 12, patch 5.1, I was able to solo C'thun in about 2 mins on my level 90 fury warrior. When I was tele-ported in his stomach, I killed the two tentacles quickly and was spit out. He turned purple with his weakened debuff and I dps'd him down in a matter of seconds. When I was in the stomach, I didn't take any noticeable damage either.
Just solo'd as a i470 Affliction Warlock. (Schwarzertod - Proudmoore)
no pet to start (he seems to bug out), burn him down while casting a dot on each tentacle that pops up.
when he ports you into the stomach, burn them both down fast cause you're losing health fast (
) and then pop "
" (i popped
when i landed down there, but i don't think i needed it in the end.)
Keep an eye on your health as
seems to be hitting for way more than the 150 it says in the tooltip...
DB should get you out and survive the last couple ticks. pop a heath pot if you need to now.
, blow your CDs, i summoned my Terrorguard for extra DPS.
only worry about targeting C-Thun, ignore the other adds. you have roughly 20-30 secs to do 999k DPS.
If you go to slow you'll get sucked back in the stomach and DB will still be on CD.. so you're screwed unless you have another shield spell...
(took me about 20 attempts to figure out a good order for everything between bugouts and general lag)
In 5.1, i manage to solo him.. quite very easy and in 1st try and my 2nd kill in 3 years...:)
Some tactics (fire mage, 484ilvl):
1st phase just pew pew.. When eye oc C'thun is killed i pop up Mirror Image, I had been eaten there i amoust die since i take 100k+ dmg but i get out fast from there and then.... Just moving with scorch and spam 2 or 3 pyroblast and Voila!... He was dawn
It appears they have indeed fixed C'Thun so that he is solo-able. I just killed him on my dk solo. After being ported into the stomach, I was able to kill both tentacles and then get to the platform in a little less than 20 seconds or so and was not auto-killed. I had no ghouls up while I was inside the stomach either. The rest of the fight was easy after that, good luck to anyone else on him. =)
C'thun has been hotfixed since patch 5.1 and no longer instantly kills. He is now soloable.
Just tried this solo today as a Combat Rogue. This seems to have been fixed. I did not insta-die in C'thun's stomach and did in fact beat him.
Post 5.1 nerf anyone know to what degree and extent he was nerfed?
I can confirm that C'Thun is soloable as a lvl 90 ret pally in 463 and up gear. Have to step on it when you get ported to his stomach as Digestive Acid hits for ~25k, using Speed of Light helps. Judgement or Exorcism the tentacles on your way out and AW/GoAK burn him once both tentacles in his stomach are dead.
As of a patch 5.1 Hotfix:
C'Thun no longer despawns when you are ported in to his stomach.
Dratzal from EU forums:
Viscidus, Twin Emperors, C'Thun, Al'ar and Reliquary of Souls should be easier to kill now. The developers applied a hotfix during the night. So, if you haven't gone to C'Thun yet today, you should!
Unsure as to the comments on patch 5.1 before me, as I just soloed him as a level 90 monk. He ate me three times, I killed both tentacles and used the platform (looks like moving rocks when you encounter an underground mob) to get spat back out all three times to beat on him on the outside.
I was not oneshotted or even seriously harmed when I was pulled into the stomach, so not sure what any of the comments before me are talking about. O.o
Solo'd post 5.1 patch by Retribution paladin.
. He did suck me down into his stomach but killed the 2 tentacles and was ported back up and killed him easy. Took all of 2-3 minutes.
As of 5.1, DPS C'thun until you get eaten, then kill the 2 tentacles inside his stomach and once you get puked back up.. kill kill kill.. easymode now
At last soloing C'tun is possible! Made this as of patch 5.1.
is pretty self explanatory.
Solo'd on my brewmaster monk... Easy enough, but when I was pulled into his stomach for that phase, I was taken out of my stance. Not sure if it is a bug or working as intended, but know that you may have to go back into your stance manually.
Soloed as a Demo Warlock with Felguard.
Harvest Life, Mortal Coil, Dark Bargain, Burning Rush, Grimoire of Service (Felguard), Kil'jaeden's Cunning
Demon Training, Imp Swarm, Dark Soul
With patch 5.1 C'Thun became easier to solo, due to changes in phase 2 - now you aren't instantly killed in his stomach.
Nuke Eye of C'Thun.
Nuke his tentacles while in his stomach and then quickly go outside.
Kill C'Thun. Good Luck and Have Fun!
He may have been fixed to not insta-gib you in 5.1, but his digestive acid is still bugged, it deals your spell power * number of stacks to you every 5 seconds. for someone in 470+ gear that's ~20k per stack, and it stacks fast and does
fall off. For melee its no problem, for casters who can't heal, it's a big problem.
It doesn't appear to have been pointed out yet, and everything I could find on the subject indicated that it was impossible, but just so everyone knows: as of Patch 5.1, C'thun is soloable. I didn't have any issues with the bugs that ClockworkAvatar referred to.
Players now have 5 minutes to escape C'thun's stomach and resume the battle before it resets.
Solo'd as a Elemental Shaman ilvl473
Took the eye down quick but saved cooldowns for phase 2/3.
When going in stomach i popped lifeblood/gift of the naaru (both helped, could use a master healing pot during this phase if you dont have as much healing as me).. nuked tentacles quick and got out.. Digestive acid hit for 99k on last hit.. once coming out it dropped off and didnt hit me again...
Came out and popped Hero/Ascendance/Ancestral Guidance/Fire Ele and nuked Cthun with lava burst/unleash elements - Finished him before Ascendance ended
Duo'd this with a level 90 blood DK and windwalker monk today. Weirdly enough, as soon as we got ported into his stomach, my stance was removed and I couldn't use any of my abilities until I dug through my spellbook to switch back into Stance of the Fierce Tiger. The tentacles had so little health that it was trivial to just melee them down with regular attacks though.
I need to ask if anyone who might know read's this is it possible to release from their imprisonment the 3 prison dragonblights next to c'thuns vault because i read they were released but they are still in their magical circles after c'thuns death and is it possible to get out of the raid in the area like some sort of thing it will teleport you out?
For mages, I soloed this with an ilvl of 463 (just heroics):
1) Damage it down until you get in his stomach
without using cooldowns
killing the tentacles inside
3) As soon as you jump out of it, pop all your cooldowns and burn it down as fast as you can
If you get inside its stomach twice you'll probably die. If you have troubles taking it out, try healing yourself whenever you get out of the stomach using
and you should be fine.
I tried him today as an Elem shaman with a DK friend. I got ported into the stomach and died very fast. I ankhed and instantly died again. The digestive acid was too much to handle in MoP gear it seems?
Just soloed C'thun on my mage - not difficult. You just have to stand in the circle between the mobs in the stomach to get ported out quickly when they die.
Not sure if it's just me, but upon killing this guy I get 2750 rep with Brood of Nozdormu. I receive fives lines in my chat log saying I got 550 reputation with the guild perk. Upon throwing down my
, I receive 3002 reputation. If it's a bug, I like it. Much better rep gain than Hydraxian Waterlords(revered and up).
i dont see how any of you rogues kill this guy! For one i cant get past the twins still. as of the new patch. They heal for as much as you kill them for 2 and not to say all the adds that come out its varry hard to heal even with ports. If any of you can tell me how to down the twins it would be vary helpful in my case.
I don't know if this has been addressed, but c'thun is quite solo-able despite the stomach mechanic. I just did it today on my windwalker monk, but there was a few things i had to deal with to make it work. When he pulls you into his stomach as i'm sure you all know, you have 15 seconds before you are stomach goo, but this isn't really an issue either.. when you are pulled into the stomach just kill the two tentacles that come out of the acid. Something I noticed when doing this is that the hot bar disappeared for me, i had to re-enter my stance in order to address this. if this happens to you and you are not a stance type character (not really sure if it does or not) just hotbar a move or two on the side bar. Anyways kill the tentacles and you're out.
once you are out its fairly easy to aoe the tentacles outside or just run by them and kill them that way, in a matter of a minute or two you have a very weak, very killable c'thun. Hope this helps someone!
Soloed this guy as a demo warlock with ilvl of only 446. My dps was not high enough to avoid entering the stomach more than once, especially given the interrupts from being knocked back by the tentacles he spawns. Also I saved my cds for getting out of the stomach quickly so was in human form for most of the fight against him.
Plenty of good tips on how to get out of the stomach quickly here but what
mentioned is that it's now perfectly possible to survive entering the stomach multiple times, you just need to make sure you have enough health to absorb at least 2 hits from the acid (in my case this was about 220k). So when you come out of the stomach, if the boss has too much health for you to dps through before you next enter the stomach (you have like maybe 15-30 seconds?) focus instead on getting your health up so you can survive your next acid trip.
Hmm, none of the posts seem to help.
First, I can't see any reason to kill the tentacles inside the stomach; but rather, get to the pad and teleport out. Any thoughts?
Second, no matter what I do (90 well geared Frost Mage) I only am able to damage him by about 5k, and he has a pool of 955k.
There is some game mechanic I am missing.
If you see what it is, please clue me in. :)
Soloed as a hunter the first time, very straightforward (ilvl 470). The first phase is just dps. In the second phase just apply dps, and if you get into the stomach kill the two tentacles quickly and teleport out. I was teleported into the stomach only once.
Just soloed C'Thun on my 90 mage. Not sure if they changed the encounter. But when i'm in the belly of C'Thun, after killing the tentacles, there is a third type of platform that bubbles. Standing on it throws me in the air and I popped out of him. Then continued dpsing. Rather easy kill. Wasn't planning on soloing him, just tried to die so I could get back to beginning to turn in scarabs, but when I saw him going down, I just continued.
If you're trying to solo him, do
use the old method of pulling Ouro into his room to prevent dieing in the stomach. You no longer die in the stomach.
pull Ouro into C'Thun's room, you won't be able to go into the stomach and kill the adds in there to weaken him, thus reducing your damage by 99%
the entire fight.
Simple engage C'Thun, kill him (eye phase), wait to get sucked into the stomach, kill the 2 tentacles down there, then zerg C'Thun's body.
Your computer will explode. RNG will abandon you. Your gear is weak. Junk is close... Your spells will fail. You will wipe. You already have an instance lock on me. You will betray the need button. It's all fun and games until someone loses the loot roll.
Interesting discovery: As a monk, when he sucks you into his innards, it takes you out of your stance. It's the only way I've found to be completely stanceless as a monk.
If somehow you're like me and completely miss how to get to him, AQ-40 isn't a loop, it's a single path. Just keep going clockwise around the zone and you'll find him.
Lvl 90 Mage Soloing C'thun
Solo'd on my WW monk. Found the one-shot the first time I tried. Next time (after I read the comments here) I got in real close after being swallowed and weakened him. Bypassed all the eyes and just got up close to his business and hit him with everything I had until my touch of death lit up. Easy enough on the second try.
Interestingly, after he died I still had to kill his two tentacles (that must be a bug right?)
After defeating C'Thun, the ghost of Emperor Vek'lor appears.
C'Thun: Servant? is it over?
Vek'lor lays a comforting hand on C'Thun's tentacle.
Vek'lor: At long last. No Old God rules forever, my Master.
C'Thun: I see... only darkness... before me...
C'Thun's eye rolls back into his body and he dies, his tentacle falling to the ground. Vek'lor closes his Master's eye and gently lays him on the ground as Arygos walks in.
Vek'lor: Without its master's command, the restless qiraji will become an even greater threat to this world.
Vek'lor stands, facing Arygos.
Vek'lor: Control must be maintained... There must always be... an Old God...
Vek'lor's' ghost disappears, and Arygos shields his eyes from the blinding corpse of C'Thun. Arygos picks up the Eye of the Old God and examines it.
Arygos: The weight of such a burden... it must be mine. For there is no other to—
Beaten, Fandral Staghelm appears.
Fandral: Arygos... You hold a grim destiny in your hands, brother... but it is not your own.
Arygos: Fandral... by all that is holy...
Fandral: The C'Thun darkness... sealed my fate. The world of the living can no longer comfort me. Place the mantle of the Old God on me, Arygos..
Arygos turns his back on Fandral, preparing to walk away.
Arygos: NO, old friend. I cannot.
Fandral: DO IT Arygos! You and these brave heroes have your own destinies to fulfill. This last act of service... is mine.
Arygos: You will not be forgotten... brother.
Fandral: I MUST be forgotten, Arygos, If the world is to live free from the tyranny of the Silithid – they must never know what was done here today.
Arygos nods and The chamber begins to shake violently. There is a flash of light and Fandral's eyes are glowing red.
Fandral: Tell them only that the Old God is dead...
Fandral: and that Fandral Staghelm died with him...
Fandral: NOW GO. LEAVE THIS PLACE – AND NEVER RETURN.
A little bit of useful information, if you do group up for this boss (lvl 90s and the like) make sure EVERYONE is out of the stomach before you kill him. As my hunter was insta-killed, and couldn't get any rez, when the other 90s killed him.
And now my hunter is doomed to be digested in the belly of a dead Old God.
(You can release spirit though)
View it in 3D, I don't remember him having eye lids.
After a long time I Soloed it.
But there was no loot.
Don't know if loot is somewhere else or it was just a bug
I've been instakilled twice while exiting his stomach in recent runs, after months of soloing the fight with no issues. Other comments helped me realize that what killed me was having C'thun die while I was still in the stomach (it seems it's an unavoidable death, like
if you kill him before all the eggs are destroyed).
The simple way around this is just to not dps the boss's second form until you have exited the stomach. My DoTs were still ticking, and I'm guessing the near immunity the boss has gets removed when you kill the two tentacles inside, before you exit. If this happens to you, you'll have to run all the way back through the raid to loot the corpse.
Don't make the mistake I made searching in Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj as he is in the temple.
Go past quest givers, instead of going forward for RUINS turn right.
Temple entrance is up the steps.
There is a boss inside called Viscidus, he requires frost to kill ...SKIP HIM and proceed to C'Thun for the achievement
Since 6.0.2 and especially at level 100,
use DoTs before stomach phase. Boss dies because of high damage of DoTs as soon as he's vulnerable and you die inside the stomach. After releasing and running back, boss' corpse is there, ready to loot.
And now he is a card in Hearthstone,
If you have the trinket
, make sure you unequip it before fighting C'Thun as the proc will fly through the ground while you are in the stomach, immediately killing C'Thun, and you too!
If you don't feel like dealing with the stomach phase, you can easily kill him through his damage reduction at 110, doesn't even take very long (did it at 107 and it took me just under a minute).
If you're looking for an easy way out after killing him, there is none.
You have to walk all the way back or heartstone/teleport out.
Not sure if there's some mechanic I failed to notice, but I was trying to kill him with my level 110 mage and my spells were not dealing increased damage in the second phase.
I was one-shotting everything (including the eye phase) with Ice Lance and suddenly I had to use 5 or 6 Ice Lances to take the second phase down.
For those searching not the "how" but the "where": Run up towards the exit and after you reached the stone floor there is an entrance on the right, hard to miss cuz its a big eye in it. :P
once his second phase / form starts to emerge there is a short time where the damage reduction is not applied yet, making it possible to kill him very quickly
Where is he? It looks like at the very start, but he is at the very end. You have to go thru all that dungeon. When you reach him, a wall behind friendly NPC at the start, quest givers, will open. If you die .. like me during the encounter .. dont even know how .. the wall will close.
Temple of Ahn'Qiraj RAID (AQ40)

like to go home now
, but you can't find the Silithid Royalty BOSS for that kill,

Take a HARD left at bottom of staircase, and descend into the spiralling downward tunnel. There is a juncton (slightly before you get all the way down) with a left turn that is more level and a right which continues descending. Take the RIGHT and go all the way down.

For REFERENCE, the more level side tunnel takes you to The Hive Undergrounds map level, where you will fight all the bosses other than the Silithid Royalty and
If you die in the stomach (like i did) and end up at the start of the raid facing a long haul back to the corspe of C'Thun, there is a quicker way.

She will also teleport you to the Twin Emporors room if you ask nicely.
