Upcoming Changes to Alchemy in Shadowlands Patch 9.2

Alchemy in Shadowlands 9.2 will see the following changes. Not all recipe sources are known at this time.

初蕊花 - New Alchemy reagent from Zereth Mortis Herbalism, used in most Alchemy recipes.
匠力印记 IV and 初诞者匠力印记 - new Optional Reagents to set minimum level of crafted gear to 60 and iLevel to 233 and 262 respectively. Similar to the 链屿匠力印记, the 初诞者匠力印记 creates an item that is Unique-Equipped, so only one piece with this Optional Reagent may be worn at any one time. 匠力印记 IV will likely replace the 链屿匠力印记, since it creates an item 3 levels higher that does not have the Unique-Equipped restriction. You will be able to purchase these recipes from Vilo, the Quartermaster for The Enlightened faction in Zereth Mortis with Friendly and Honored reputation respectively.
加时护甲上光剂 - Optional Reagent that increases the duration of flasks, elixirs, and food buffs.
浸剂：尸体净化 - Optional Reagent that gives a chance to acquire additional resources from corpses.
宇宙治疗药水 - restores 20,000 health.

Why is Alchemy Useful in Shadowlands?

Potions and flasks are important to every expansion, and Shadowlands is no different. Being able to create your own from items gathered through Herbalism is a very handy skill.

Nearly all pre-Shadowlands potions and flasks will cease to work at level 49, so you won't be able to rely on old-world potions and flasks in Shadowlands. Time to make new!

Shadowlands adds a potion to cure poisons as well as the usual complement of healing and mana-regenerating potions.

You're not the only one who needs potions and flasks! Many can sell well and steadily on the Auction House. Since these are consumables, there will always be an ongoing need. Alchemy is one of the few consistently profitable manufacturing professions.

To open the crypts, you need to have an 赎罪地穴钥匙, which is a common drop from Venthyr in the area. Since this is random, it may take awhile to find.

红杯蜡烛 is a BoE cosmetic helm that resembles the candles kobolds wear on their heads. A similar effect is granted through the Island toy 须蜡火烛 which is on a 1-hour cooldown.

Leveling Alchemy in Shadowlands

To the surprise of no experienced Alchemists, Alchemy has a few awkward stretches where there are shortages of recipes to fill the gaps. You'll need to take some recipes far into green territory to get past the difficult period where recipe choices are almost nonexistent.

The ground Extracts are your friends here, but will require you doing Herbalism in multiple zones to get through these stretches. You may need to look for alternative recipes if you don't have the necessary ingredients.

Shadowlands Alchemy World Quests

Each of the four Covenant zones has its own Alchemy World Quests. You must have a Alchemy skill of at least 25 for these to show up. Completing one of these quests rewards +1 Alchemy, experience, and 125 reputation with the local zone faction.

If you are doing the normal storyline, these quests will not be available until World Quests open at level 60. Characters leveling 50-60 through Threads of Fate who have the appropriate skill level will also be able to pick up and complete these World Quests, even though the database states you must be 60 to do it.

For this reason, if you are leveling through Threads of Fate, I strongly encourage doing what you need to do to push any Profession skills to 25 as soon as you can to take advantage of these easy skill points, experience, and credit toward your zone completions.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I think the return of oils and sharpening stones is entirely unnecessary. They were taken out of the game for a reason. There were far too many consumables you had to carry around with you and apply literally every hour if you wanted to be as powerful as you could be. Shadowlands is going to be great in a lot of aspects but annoying in this regard.

Also I am a little sad they homogenized the stat flasks. I get why, and ultimately this will be better for the market price of flasks, but I will miss seeing all the pretty different colored flasks as an alchemist. XD

评论来自 keco

Is there any point in maintaining the difference between Battle and Guardian Elixirs? For the last several expansions all flasks count for both. Am i missing something?

评论来自 Axera

These all look great!

I'm especially excited for the homogenized flasks -- save on space, mats, level the market and so much more! I'm also excited to be able to have lots of worthwhile small things to make for myself and my boyfriend while leveling.

Currently on the Beta it shows that the Spiritual Healing Potion restores 6,290 health. This is worse than BfA's Abyssal Healing Potion which restores 13,418 health. Is this a bug or do things like potion and flask effects increase by your character level like they did in BfA (my Alchemist is level 51)?.

Edit: Ok, I got my Alchemist to level 52 and now it says that the Shadowlands Potion restores 6,262 health. And, stranger still, the BfA Potion now restores 13,360 health. What's going on?

in shadowlands does alchemy still get +1 hour to flasks?

is there any info yet on what is happening to the pre-shadowlands alchemy?

my primay profession on my horde and alliance mains is alchemy and i want to know what to expect

评论来自 Bernok

Is there still a chance to discover multiple pots/flasks?

评论来自 Maelchanar

Speed is going to be nerved..

BFA Lightfood Potion: Increases movement speed by 150%. Lasts 8sec.

SL Potion of the Psychopomp's Speed: Increases movement speed by 70%(!). Lasts 8sec.

评论来自 Aglovale

Tested on live servers as of 26/11/2020

Alchemy DOES give the hour extension on the pot duration.

评论来自 LloydJ90

Does Elixir master work on Shadowlands' flasks, and is it possible to obtain it now? Because the NPC in SW does not give the quest for some reason.

评论来自 Luomo

Crafters mark 1 is really effective to craft from 150 to 170. It gives you one rank almost every craft until it's green. Considering how cheap death blossoms are this goes the fastest

评论来自 Metlod

is there still chance for getting more potion or flast when making one ?

评论来自 IceWolfDK

Mistake on the page. Crafters Mark 3 is not sold anywhere, its not implemented.

评论来自 ixnorp

The 135-150 tier suggests Potion of Phantom Fire which is already yellow by that point. It goes green at 142. It's terrible to level on.

评论来自 Staxus

its crap , making alchemy trinket atm is useless, ilv168 trinket when half ppl is geared from hc or mythic raid 210-220 +- ilv
blizz sleeping in winter like bear maybe, where is better marks for epic trinket ?

评论来自 Xlsfd

In my experience, Potion of Spectral Agility, Potion of Spectral Intellect, Potion of Spectral Stamina and Potion of Spectral Strength turn yellow at skill 165, not at 160.

What is up with 药水大师/药剂大师/转化大师?

I read on the wow forum that they do not work for Shadowland items.
